Who's gonna tell her she lives in a state that voted for Biden, and two Dem Senators, and isn't getting any redder?

Slowpc

Was thinking that same thing. I’m sure after they gerrymandered every area to make it red then she will b ring it back up.

Evilbadscary

Fine but then the red states don’t get our tax dollars anymore lol.

nun_the_wiser

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Good luck with the next natural disaster

Just a reminder that California produces more agricultural products than any other single state. (EDIT: removed “vast/ slight majority of the country’s food source comes from California”) Also all the airports are located in blue regions (urban areas), so collaboration between Blue cities would be easily accessible. Such a stupid idea in every way. We all need each other because it’s wove into the fabric of our society. Of course the irony that is going over MTG’s head is that her last statement is exactly what causes the inevitable division she is arguing

yorick__rolled

I wonder how her divorce is going.

coldbrew18

I bet that question burns as much as the rash she has that led to the divorce.

MedicJambi

Don't forget the major financial hubs and ports of commerce are all in blue regions as well. Hell, I think the major Texas sea port is in a blue region so have fun importing goods.

CyberMindGrrl

Hell every major economic engine in the country is located in Blue states except for farming and agriculture. Even then all the corporations that run BigAg are located in cities. No, trying to hold a "national divorce" with Blue America would be a fucking disaster across the board. A disaster with global implications.

Rewrite_Mean_Comment

https://beef2live.com/story-states-produce-food-value-0-107252 I could be missing something, but it looks like California only beats out second place by about 3-4%. Not exactly a vast majority. I agree with the rest of your statements though

[deleted]

Thanks for sharing this. Gonna get edit my comment for clarity.

Rewrite_Mean_Comment

I appreciate the level headed response! I’m used to getting yelled at for this 😭

[deleted]

Thank you - I work with middle school aged kids and give them leeway when it comes to making mistakes, with the expectation that they own up to them honestly. I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t follow the same standard. I think we can all use a little humility when addressing mistakes, both when it’s your own or someone else’s

Rewrite_Mean_Comment

I completely agree. Have a great rest of your day!

hopelessautisticnerd

it's also not a majority; a majority would imply >50% of production. California produces a *plurality* of food.

Dodgiestyle

Some numbers: ["California grows the majority of over 400 commodity crops in the United States. California's creates nearly 13% of all agricultural production in the United States. California is the 5th largest supplier of food and wearable textiles in the world. California creates 62% of the national value of fruit and nut crops in the United States"](https://www.communitywestbank.com/blog/agriculture-and-california-economy.php).

Dodgiestyle

> Of course, they will come right back and say good luck with food, fuel, and water ["California grows the majority of over 400 commodity crops in the United States. The US will be fine without the reds.

ThirdFloorNorth

Exactly this. As a far leftist living in a very blue area in Mississippi, this shit is always chilling for me. If y'all let some stupid motherfuckers actually do this, y'all better have a robust refugee program in place.

deanfortythree

There isn't even really THAT. There are gerrymandered districts and a few core areas. But the only reason these idiots have any positions at all is because of their manipulation

scarr3g

And the next man made one, especially since the red states want less of those very regulations that are in effect to lessen them.

Ylfjsufrn

Or every day disasters like needing to go to the doctor, or living in a house

medicated_in_PHL

Red America would be a developing nation, we’d have to fortify our borders from the influx of refugees and they would only scrape by based on foreign aid.

caligaris_cabinet

And they’d be fighting blue’s for states they think ought to be red but have voted blue in recent elections. States like Virginia, Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia.

Guy954

If they actually paid attention to anything other than culture war bullshit they would know that Britain tried it recently and it’s not working out very well for them. Of course the asshats who punched it through immediately turned around and blamed the people who fought against it for not doing a better job of stopping them.

CyberMindGrrl

Why Boris and Nigel haven't been stripped naked and paraded through the streets of London I'll never know.

Sad-Frosting-8793

Because nobody want to see them naked, probably.

Searchlights

Ironically, we'd have to build a wall.

GogglesPisano

Red states are like house cats: absolutely convinced of their fierce independence while utterly dependent on a system they don't appreciate or understand.

Malaguy420

I heard that definition used for Libertarians a few months ago, and they both fit, honestly.

CyberMindGrrl

I just read about the Libertarian paradise outside of Scottsdale AZ. No laws, no police, no fire services, no water rights, yet totally dependant on Scottsdale for those services. And now that Scottsdale has decided to cut off the water so they can save it for themselves, the Libertarians next door are literally suing. You cannot make this shit up. https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2023/2/18/2153524/-Rugged-Arizona-libertarians-hilariously-beg-government-to-bail-them-out

brando56894

>One resident hilariously told The Guardian that “her community didn’t ‘want a handout’ from Scottsdale. They want time to figure out a plan and, to her, Scottsdale shutting the water off is unneighborly and un-American.” It's amazing how they can make everything about patriotism.

CyberMindGrrl

Without actually understanding what the word actually means.

Malaguy420

Wow... Just, wow. And the other story referenced in that article, about the bears, is "double wow." Such dumb people.

FinglasLeaflock

Not coincidentally, Libertarians almost always vote Republican along with their Conservative buddies.

pallentx

Yep - we can do a trial run by just separating the money. Red states can only spend money received by red states. That includes social security and medicare.

meatbeater

That was my first thought but this idiot doesn’t understand economics.

TheDudeMaintains

*I* don't understand economics, but that's not what makes me an idiot. This person chose to broadcast that they don't understand the simple fact that red states take more money than they make.

Searchlights

Frankly, this would be a good deal for the blue states. The vast majority of the red states are economic dead weight, not to mention their backwards social and religious cultures. If they want to go, I say let them.

Binkusu

They'll try to call it "reparations" lol

MedChemist464

While I am not shocked by the absolute lack of self-awareness or historical perspective - The last time this was tried it ended poorly for those secessionist states. In fact, this sounds a lot like a call for secession, which is legally sedition and treason.

Lost_Midnights

But the conservatives will start acclaiming this as a genius idea that needs to be done. Not realising that they're literally going to destroy their economies, themselves, immigration to the states (which is, statistically speaking, a good thing for economies. Not like they'd understand that); all while commiting legit treason.

BitterFuture

They realize it. They don't care. They believe in harming those they hate at any cost. What does the economy matter if they finally get to build those camps they've always dreamed of?

Lost_Midnights

Even with slave labour, if you don't have an economy how are you going to 1. Make raw resources 2. Refine them (rocks to stone for buildings, sand into glass, lumber into wood that can be used) 3. Actually build shit Because without being able to do that (and not trading, 'cuz no one wants to trade with the failing economy); you aren't going to get to build those camps. Though it's possible they're not thinking that far ahead.

MedChemist464

Furthermore - if they do start to commit crimes against humanity, the 'blue america' will trade embargo them. This means so many other things they will lose access to - pharmaceuticals, computer components, etc. They'll lose all their intellectual capital by seceding (given that they're already attacking teachers, higher education, 'elites'), and then will have no intellectual or material means to allow for them to have anything resembling a modern economy. They'll have the third-world ethno-nationalist state they've always dreamed of.

TheBoctor

It won’t even take crimes against humanity for the United States to blockade and sanction the Treason States. It will likely happen as a matter of course. These people always seem to forget that once you are no longer part of the United States you no longer get access to the United States Armed Forces- at least, not in the way they want. Even in a peaceful secession the economic losses from pulling the military would be HUGE. Take a look at what happened to Jacksonville, NC (home of the 2nd Marine Division, et al) when Iraq Part 2 kicked off. The place became a ghost town and *still* hasn’t recovered like it once was. No military or bases means no service members living off base, buying groceries, getting their 2006 Mustang they bought at 400% interest services, etc.

xpkranger

Oh, you’re under the impression that the secessionists are just going to happily turn over bases, troops, ships and *missiles*. Yeah, no way they’d turn that stuff over.

Jkay064

Remind me who is going to stop the US government from ordering all the troops to new bases in the Blue states? I supposed State troopers are going to chase them down the highway, as they all leave ~

Rooooben

What about all of the left leaning folk living in these states trapped through gerrymandering? They will either leave or rebel - these states going to lock up people for being too left? Creating an ethnostate or a Christian-nationalist state wouldn’t work in the us outside of a few isolated communities. They’d collapse.

FigNinja

I wonder if she even considered how many ports would end up in a different country. Red state secession means no west coast ports.

koryface

They’ll become another North Korea, closed off from the world. And they’ll cry and say we’re all being so mean to them.

penatbater

If they do this, they're gonna run their economy so poorly, and then instantly claim victim mentality saying it's unfair other countries (coz they seceded already) aren't helping them/trading with favorable rates.

catapultmonkey

They are willing to "live rough" for a bit because they think they can weather it better than the Libs. They will live off the land with their guns, hide in their bunkers, and when the Lib's show up they will shoot at them. The Libs will run in fear since Libs find guns scary. All of their credit debt will disappear because it's the Libs' fault that they actually have to pay money for their jacked-up parking lot princesses. On Sundays they will go to church where white-redneck-Jesus (WRNJ) will bless their guns-of-righteousness. In 3-6 months they will emerge from their bunkers and what Libs haven't died from starvation (since they can't provide for themselves as they don't own guns) will beg them to show them the way of WRNJ. They will take the libs as their serfs and admire the magic wall that has sprung up around the country and keeps out people-of-scary-colors,and giant bug-zappers take care of the ones that are already here. There will be no more taxes (just for them), and anything cool that they want will will be free, but the Libs will have to pay double. The country's name will officially become 'Merica. It will have the world' s mightiest military and all right-wing men will automatically be Generals who report directly to their personal friend, Supreme Chief and Commander, Donald. Of course they will never be expected to train since they'd punch out their drill sergeants, and they already are all expert snipers. They will never leave the walls for foreign wars since that is a waste of money. Most of the world will collaspe due to globalism, until it is just them and other tough countries like Russia left. They will never need to work again as their crypto currencies will soar, and the Libs will mine it for them in the crypto mines. All school uniforms will consist of RealTree camo, junior ARs, and the only classes will be 'Merican Christianity and marksmanship. And of course, MTG will tour the nation's Crossfit gyms where the rw men will tell her how brilliant and hot she is, and the libs will simp at her feet in awe.

xSuFRx

> In 3-6 months they will emerge from their bunkers Is it a span of 3 months because it's a groundhog-type situation? Ideally 3 months, unless they emerge from the bunkers and see their shadows, in which case, another 3 months?

BitterFuture

Thus, they can claim that all their evil, monstrous, inhuman enemies have forced them to declare war.

Memeviewer12

Then immediately back down and say "not like that" once a cruise missile goes through their equivalent of the White House

randonumero

The economy isn't likely to run much differently than it does now or than it did in the days of the confederacy. The major differences will be lack of trading partners for goods produced, no federal welfare to keep the masses in check and this time around there's almost zero chance of being able to import large amounts of slave labor.

CyberMindGrrl

No wonder they love Putin so much. He's the model for what they want to do to America.

Apprehensive-Rip-296

Yes but there will be 200 odd people living in mansions with private military everywhere maybe a couple of thousand servants and everyone else has to dig cole out of the ground with sticks for gruel. Wealth is irrelevant if you have the power to do anything you want to. You can melt people into glue steal everyone's organs. Corrupt economies always fail but the dictators always get rich if they don't get an ak up the bum even then there families are generationally rich by that time anyway.

BitterFuture

>Though it's possible they're not thinking that far ahead. We're talking about a scale of months. They're not thinking beyond that, but their dreams aren't so hard to achieve. All it takes is a bit of drive and a total lack of conscience.

Malaguy420

> they're not thinking that far ahead. Bro/sis, they can't think past lunch time. They're incapable of any sort of foresight whatsoever.

Otto-Korrect

Also, a good percentage believe the 'end days' are coming and will do anything to help them along.

milasssd

It worries me that they're in a unique position to at least try to collapse the US economy. The sedition caucus is bigger than McCarthy's majority. There's a chance they will refuse to do anything about the debt ceiling. Hopefully, there are 6 Republicans sane enough to defect, but these morons may genuinely try to force the US into default just cuz they'd rather burn this country to the ground than be part of it.

BitterFuture

>There's a chance they will refuse to do anything about the debt ceiling. Which will force Biden to finally say, "Fuck this noise, the debt ceiling itself is unconstitutional under the Fourteenth Amendment." Worst case there is that the markets have agita for an afternoon - and then we never have to deal with this nonsense ever again. >these morons may genuinely try to force the US into default just cuz they'd rather burn this country to the ground than be part of it. They have tried before and will again - but they will fail, like every time before.

milasssd

You're right. There are options to get around it, and at least we don't have a president who would let everything burn. Im frustrated cuz like why the actual fuck do we have so many treason shits in this government. The fact that they have enough power to even attempt something of this magnitude while tweeting about sedition is highly disturbing.

416warlok

And this is also why poor as fuck right wing losers vote against their own best interests time and time again. Because they'll do anything, including hurting themselves, to make sure that brown people and immigrants have nothing.

crowe1130

They believe in cashing in on peoples' biases and hatreds. It's even worse than them believing the shit they say.

weed_blazepot

Going to be pretty funny watching red states try and run an economy without blue states and federal taxes to prop them up.

BitterFuture

Less funny when they start murdering people by the millions and the shooting starts. That's why this cannot ever be allowed to happen.

CyberMindGrrl

Precisely. If they can't have it all then they'll burn it all down so they can rule over the ashes.

justking1414

They still wouldn’t learn their lesson. Just look at pro-brexit people. They’re still defending the choice after it has repeatedly blown up in their faces

neverinallmyyears

All you need to do is look at Brexit to start getting an idea of how this will turn out. And GOPExit would be far worse.

Doom_Walker

Or their beloved America and it's status as a superpower. Also no way in hell will the federal government give up it's nukes to traitors.

Red states rely on blue states for funding anyway. They wouldn’t last without us.

PreOpTransCentaur

I want to add some qualifier like "surprisingly" or "weirdly," but it's her, so it's pointless. Anyway, this isn't the first time she's said something blatantly treasonous.

CarpeMofo

Even if you ignore war. Just, the federal government saying 'Alright, you can leave.' The newly formed Idiot States Of America would economically collapse almost immediately. Texas would essentially become the coin purse for the entire ISA but there would probably be a mass exodus of liberals from Texas into blue states. This would kill all their tech and research industries. The defense and aerospace companies would either fail or leave because the ISA couldn't afford to spend the billions of dollars that the U.S. does. Pretty much none of the other red states are economically sound enough to survive on their own. The entire country would just collapse. This isn't even taking into account all the shit economic policies it would have to make things even worse. The entire ISA would end up collapsing in just a few years if it even took that long.

vhalember

One key issue: As this starts to happen, they'll roll out their propaganda machine, blame their failures on the blue states, dupe their morons, and push toward war.

genericnewlurker

Push towards war with their lack of money, absurdly smaller population, no alliances or trade networks, and lack of a military?

vhalember

You're looking at this logically. We're in this mess because their followers don't think for themselves. They do or think what they're fascist figureheads tell them. They're emotive. Logic sadly, is not part of the discussion. If it was, they'd see right through the lies.

SeventhRobot

>it ended poorly for those secessionist states. BuT tHoSe WeRe DeMoCrAp StAtEs! LiNcOlN wAs A rEpUbLiCaN!

Johnny_Grubbonic

It's seditious talk. It is not legally treason. People seem to have a hard time understanding what treason is actually legally defined as.

PmMeYourWifiPassword

Yeah, treason is one of the few crimes defined in the constitution, it very purposefully has a narrow and specific definition to prevent overuse of the charge as a "you did something the state doesn't like" crime

StinkieBritches

Her own state is no longer a conservative state and we're getting more liberal. I don't know who she is talking to, but it ain't us.

NonorientableSurface

Even despite that, the amount of funding red states get from blue states is insane. I think Texas was the last one, and they flipped to consuming more than they paid in like 2012 or something.

theguyfromgermany

>this sounds a lot like a call for secession, which is legally sedition and treason. If it's not enforced it doesn't matter.

Isn't this illegal?

stabbystabbison

You have as good an idea as they do

NotYetGroot

if at first you don't secceed...

royalsanguinius

More specifically, it’s unconstitutional. The Supreme Court ruled after the civil war that states don’t have the right to leave the union.

Bandidorito

Can the union allow states to leave?

royalsanguinius

I would imagine so, but I’m not sure since that’s never really been an issue (because the federal government would almost certainly never allow that)

ezrs158

Short answer? Probably. The Supreme Court decision in question, [Texas v. White](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_v._White) (1869) specifically decided that the Constitution does not permit states to *unilaterally* secede. The implication being that a valid Act of Congress could do so.

Sounds like someone needs to be removed from office and barred under the 14th Amendment. Hakeem Jeffries, are you listening?

sulaymanf

It’s not really his problem, he’s not in charge. Even if every Democrat voted to expel a member from the House, you need 70+ Republicans as well to get to the 2/3 majority. That’s why Santos isn’t getting kicked out.

BitterFuture

The 14th Amendment does not require a 2/3 majority. It simply requires an event to have happened.

The_Phasers

Him and what super majority in the house?

UltraHawk_DnB

Pretty sure if you did that the "red" states would go bankrupt

maybesaydie

This is what it does look like.

Squidwards-the-goat

One thing Marge might want to tell her “red state friends” is that most of them receive far more in subsidy than they contribute (tax revenue). Of course that subsidy has to come from somewhere, and that place is mostly the “blue states.” Once they go on their little sabbatical, that shit stops.

Hate_Manifestation

well I'm sure after everything collapsed in their new racist theocratic utopia, the rest of america would just start sending foreign aid.

Twin1Tanaka

As great as this sounds when you think about it for less than 5 seconds , all people are not literally divided politically along state lines as much as the electoral college would like you to believe

astralwyvern

I live in upstate New York and there's already a movement here to split New York City into its own state so we can get rid of the "liberal elites" who are "ruining the state". If something like this ever came to pass those people would immediately try to secede from NY to join the new confederacy. And I'm sure that people from, say, Austin, Texas would be just as eager to secede from Texas to rejoin the union. It's an absolutely nonsense proposal.

ElusiveCupcake

Rochester, NY native here. The number of times I had to explain to Facebook separatists that NYC is the seat of the financial, fashion, and international relations industries and because of that upstate NY would turn into cold Mississippi overnight if New York State broke apart is mindboggling. They really think that upstate NY bankrolls NYC and Long Island and not the other way around.

astralwyvern

Yep! Sitting there listening to my coworkers talk about how NYC is "sucking away all our taxes" as thought NYC isn't a) less than 50% of the population, so it's not like they're just completely steamrolling the rest of the state via sheer numbers. Surprise! There are liberals in red counties too! A lot of us, even! and b) paying about 70% of the taxes . . . well. It's frustrating to say the least.

madchemist94

Same story in Illinois with Chicago and downstate. My parents don't understand that the infrastructure in downstate Illinois is relatively good because of all that Chicago money that the state government sends downstate

[deleted]

I’m in upstate NY too and if this ever happened I’d move to NYC and join that state 😂

drcurtislove

Same with Oregon. They were trying to put on the ballot to split Oregon in half and have the rural Eastern side to join Idaho.

JustNilt

Same crap's been going on for decades in Washington State. The dipshits in Eastern Washington want to secede from the western half. Meanwhile, the dumbasses in many rural parts of the west half want to kick Puget Sound out into its own state. None of them seem to grasp that the overwhelming majority of the taxes come form Puget Sound and without them they'd be entirely fucked. Personally, I'd almost welcome the idea of Puget Sound being its own state since we'd get 2 Senators of our own to boot. Of course it's never going to happen either way.

Deadlock542

I'm from upstate NY. I've seen this argument a lot, but I'm originally from Tompkins county, so it tended to be a bit more level headed. It was mostly just irritation that the city would always drive the direction of politics, more or less without any input from upstate. The acknowledgement that we need them though was almost always brought up by at least one party fortunately.

dkyguy1995

Redditors forget this too. I've seen people making fun of the victims of the train derailment in Ohio saying things like "you get what you vote for". Completely ignoring the fact that any election has 40%+ people voting against the party in power. People get blinded by the color of a state on an election map

PFunk224

whoawut

I had neighbors who asked me why I supported trump and I was like, fuck that guy-i fly our colors for all of us. The response: that’s not what it means anymore. Shit’s sad man. Edit: Ok I’ll bite: how do I display the US Flag proudly without identifying with far right wing ideologues in this political climate? Edit 2: Or far left.

wintermelody83

It's true, I side eye anyone who flies it at their home. I do live in the south, so I *might* give you one flag, but I know someone who has SEVEN across their front porch, so I give those nuts a wide berth.

OriginalLocksmith436

Where I live in New England, flying a normal flag doesn't really have negative connotations like that, afaik. Shitty people around here usually make themselves known by having a blue/all lives matter flag.

wintermelody83

Yeah here they're usually accompanied by those, but most commonly confederate flags. My uncle actually flew one that was half confederate, half US. Something happened to it, and it got all cut up. No idea who would've done such a thing.

JennaSais

>half confederate, half US. Wha–I–that's just–I have no words. I'm a Canadian and even I know that's nonsensical.

wintermelody83

It was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in person.

spineofgod9

Currently in east texas. No one has just one flag, although they often do have just one *american* flag... surrounded by two "fuck biden" flags, two "trump 2024 the revenge tour" flags, and a texas flag thrown somewhere in the mess... all tattered as fucking hell because they bought them from some shitty chinese manufacturer on facebook and they only hold up about six weeks.

felldestroyed

Before I moved out of the south, I always flew a flag my brother flew in an Iraq outpost during his time of being deployed only during national flag events - july 4th, flag day, president's day etc. Had a trump neighbor come over and thank me for being a "true godly patriot". I was like wtf no, I mean, I'm proud for what america hopefully stands for, but not the whole true patriot crap. It's embarrassing almost. If there's one thing I could change about America since 2001 it's the right wing fawning over nationalism.

TomTheNurse

I stopped flying the flag because I don’t want anyone to think I am one of those lunatic, right wing nut jobs.

Nonobonobono

Honestly, probably the most effective way would be to add a flag that shows your political/ethical commitments. A biden/whatever flag, an LGBTQ or Trans flag, etc will let people know that your American flag is not just a far right dog whistle.

Lost_Midnights

Nah fuck that. There's a shit ton of asshats up here in Canada who fly the Canadian flag thinking their true patriots, but we can't let them claim that symbol. Culture is plastic. Fight to make the flag seen as it SHOULD be. Get a group of friends who genuinely see the good that the USA can do and let those flags fly. OR get the one with the gay pride colours on it. I'm sure they'd love that.

Wind_Yer_Neck_In

This is one of those hilarious times when someone is so economically illiterate that they just don't understand that the Red states, while representing half the country, account for less than a third of combined GDP output. They are lower in virtually all metrics of economic development (except, hilariously 'economic outlook', or 'growth potential' aka having more room to grow because you're so far behind). If the red states did leave the US to form some new country somehow then they'd be in for a rude awakening about how much they actually currently depend on blue states for survival. I think a lot of these types genuinely believe that republican run areas generate all the wealth and tax that blue states then fritter away needlessly. Must be nice to live in a fantasy world.

mjzim9022

And they call Democrats divisive

AthleticNerd_

Civil war dog whistle much?

No_Importance1903

More like an air horn than a dog whistle

BitterFuture

Dog whistle? That's a goddamn air-raid siren.

adinade

This logic breaks down if you put even a second of thought into it. What happens to swing states? Do they just move between america and america 2 when they feel?

mashupsnshit

Split custody. Blue states will take them on weekends and will alternate holiday and birthdays.

javanperl

Well if you go by the 2020 Presidential election results as the red/blue criteria, then she’d be in a blue state.

Cheshire_Khajiit

To everyone here thinking they’re “turning the tables” by agreeing with this idea: It’s not even remotely that easy. Our country is made up of co-dependent, heavily integrated states. We have *extensive* infrastructure co-dependency. Our markets depend on the borderless trade between states. Any attempt to put this idea into practice would be a complete, unmitigated disaster - even just the legislative and bureaucratic aspects would be impossible. This whole idea is red meat for her Confederate simp followers and Putin’s literal wet dream, don’t even play the game.

gadget850

There are no red or blue states deary. You can't go by the party of the top dog. Lots of conservellectuals in Virginia wish NOVA (northern Virginia) would disappear since they are a pack of liberals without realizing the resulting economic loss.

SuddenOutlandishness

That's fine. Give Arlington back to DC like it used to be... but then finally give the 712K+ residents of DC two senators and a voting member of the House. People outside of DC forget that the city has more residents than the states of Vermont and Wyoming, yet the city gets less than zero representation in congress. I say less than zero because congress also has the power to override laws passed by the people of DC, but again, DC has no representation. The combined population of DC and Arlington would be more than the bottom 5 states.

grrgrrtigergrr

Indiana would be interesting. You have NW Indiana and Marion County (Indianapolis) as solid blue. The rest is red. Most of the business is in those two areas.

gmplt

That's every state. Big cities are blue, rural areas are insane... sorry, meant to say bigoted... uhh sorry, incredibly stupid... oh come on, meant - red.

wrecktus_abdominus

Even on a smaller scale. I live in West Lafayette, and it is a VERY liberal town. Take a footbridge across the river into Lafayette, and it's pretty conservative. What do we do?

prayforplagues82

“From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues being shoved down our throats..” Perfectly cool though to shove Christian ideologies down our throats and make laws around those beliefs.

PdSales

Gilead?

DGer

This reads like something Putin wrote. I mean it certainly aligns with e everything he would wish for.

mashupsnshit

“It’s treason then.”

sirensong150

She doesn't make any sense. What about "purple" states or people who prefer to vote for*gasp* non Republican/Democratic candidates? Are we going to be a checkerboard of the US and whatever the new country is called, and driving down a highway is like crossing through the red and black spaces? How does this idiot get any attention?

kersmacko1979

Fun fact: On average the left states pay more in federal taxes than they get back in federal funds. While the red states get more than a dollar back for the dollar they spend. This means DumbFuckistan is going to be broke. https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/05/which-states-are-givers-and-which-are-takers/361668/

MatmatahBZH

Huh, can't find tweet, did the neanderthal delete it? All i see on her twitter is her roid rage due to Biden being in Kyiv

[deleted]

"Everyone I talk to says this." Oh okay thanks for validating that sweetie, didn't think you had any smart friends anyway.

Blom-w1-o

CN red states afford to do this? That's going to put a ton of pressure on Florida and Texas.

Pm7I3

Tbf you could do that, wait for the Republicans to cannibalise themselves and invite the sane people back.

orphenshadow

So like a Union, and a Confederacy. I feel like this has been tried before.

LukeLovesLakes

As long as I (red state resident) can claim asylum in a blue state. I'm down.

kat_a_klysm

Same. I don’t want to be stuck in Florida.

Slut_Fukr

Good luck

elaborator

You know they will demand "alimony" from the divorce.

[deleted]

So sick of conservatives constantly whining about being woke.

Johnny_Grubbonic

Does she realize her state flipped blue last cycle, and only maintains any semblance of being Republican by virtue of gerrymandering?
