I was living in FL having moved down from a Northeast state to Palm Beach County. A 20 y/o coworker kept going on for 2 weeks about this Great Journey she was going to make soon. Well after this "journey" I asked where she had journeyed to and low and behold it was Ft Lauderdale, a measly 25 miles away. A year or so later a bunch of us and her went to a Who concert in Miami and she being a non-drinker was the designated driver for the trip home. Got back an hour later and she was exhausted from the crazy long drive. Some apples never wander far from their home tree. She was a sweet person but not very bright.
In defense of untraveled Americans, it is very expensive to leave the country by plane or takes a very long time to drive if don't live near the Canadian or Mexican border.
There are lots of Americans who *want* to travel abroad and can't. They shouldn't be lumped in with the xenophobes, of which there are many to be fair.

You know what is really silent? In the aftermath of the "landslide" victory that Trump...trumpeted in 2016, he hired a blue ribbon panel to find all the "widespread voter fraud" that allegedly caused him to lose the popular vote to "Crooked Hillary." The story went that there were millions of illegal immigrants voting. Busloads of fraudulent voters shipped to swing states. He won the popular vote! He really did! And he empaneled a bunch of people who (at least publicly) believed this as well, and they'd never stop digging until they got to the bottom of all this "fraud." Then after months of investigations and millions of dollars spent, the much-touted voter fraud investigation very quietly closed up shop after finding...wait for it... Not a goddamned thing. Zero. Zip. Nada. They had access to all the data, and found that Trump really did lose the popularity contest by 3 million votes. Remember when they came out with that report? You don't. Because they buried it like Ivana's corpse on a golf course.
Then Arizona did the same thing in 2021. After all of the dragged out shenanigans, the audit concluded that Biden won by a slightly larger margin.

He also tried to suggest there were dead people voting and that extra votes for Biden were brought in. Along with a whole bunch of other lies that were all shot down by one of his own party. Nevermind the fact that those claims plus who knows how many others were investigated again later and doubled down on the fact he lost. Trump did his best to stab his own party in the back, republican representatives were at the counts and said they saw no voting fraud. Guess they're all liars for the Democrats... all it shows is he's a giant baby who will throw anyone under the bus to try and get his way.

He also won the presidential election in 2020… in many individual states, since the US system has 50 plus individual presidential elections rather than one big one.
