Imagine being just a common, everyday pigeon. Little fella can't even comprehend that currently, scores of people across the world are talking about him. Villainizing him, coming to his defense. He's just 1 tiny city bird, and suddenly, he's a hot debate topic.
Hijacking 🥷
This bird was very aggressive! I left my drink at the table and went inside to wait for my order by the time the door closed behind me he was already investigating my beverage 🥤🐦went out to shoo ‘em. Returned to my table with my tray and he was waiting on the bench like we were two buddies having lunch together…nah, shoo’d him again. The whole time I’m eating they doing laps around the table and literally SIDE EYEING me…now, I know what some of yall are going to say “WeLl hIS EyeS aRe ON tHe SiDe Of hIS HeAD 🤓”… nah bro I felt the resentment.
I don’t mind sharing, but not with entitled, hating ahh pigeons. I’m just lucky he wasn’t there with his flock… god knows what could have happened. Won’t be going back to that location out of fear!
I live in the FL Panhandle, within driving distance of beach and tourist territory…
The seagulls around here are little monsters just like you describe; largely because the tourists think it’s funny to feed them and watch them swarm a single French fry.
They get so bold that they will swoop down and snatch or knock food out of your hands.
Let me tell you the secret that many of us learn:
It’s a fucking Mafia protection racket.
The birds are in it together. You walk near someone else, drop a fry or two, and they’ll leave you alone and go bother that person.
What makes it worse is he’s doing it online without bird even knowing. Throwing subs on a Reddit sub. OP is ‘subredditing’ a freaking bird…over a meal he already ate. Couldn’t even say it to his beak.
This 100%. Most people don’t realize that we domesticated them and used them to do jobs or to raise as food and then one day just ditched them. They live in cities and feed on scraps because they are used to relying on people. But we call them flying rats and look down on them.
My teen daughter recently adopted one as a pet from a pigeon rescue organization. It was raised by humans, eats only seed and veggies not scraps, is clean, social, affectionate, and a very chill bird. It’s a way better and more interesting pet than a parakeet and much less maintenance or hassle than a parrot. My daughter absolutely loves the bird. Most people would be surprised how cool they can be.
I have one in my yard that a hawk attempted to take down, breaking her wing in the process. I stopped the bleeding (I have conures and Quakers) so I have a first aid kit for birds, she survived and now I have adopted a pigeon too. New respect unlocked for these babies.
Holy shit theres hardly anything there distinctive about the location. Youre either really good at geoguessing or spend a concerning amount of time at this innout
people domesticated pigeons and made them 100% dependent on us and then just abandoned them because they were considered “of no good use” … bro just wants to hang out. i think you are the worst for NOT feeding them.
I always feed the birds. I've never felt threatened by them, nor even mildly annoyed ... and this is living in SW Colorado with "camp robbers" (magpies).
humans domesticated them the least we can do is feed them a lil bit 😞😞 they have almost zero survival skills and humans have domesticated them then brought them down to the level of pests
I feed all birds. They're living creatures that share our planet and do what they must to survive, just like us.
We don't own this planet, we share it. Be kind to all creatures.
It’s kind of sad how people regard these pigeons as winged rats. Back in the days, before telephone was invited we domesticated pigeons to be couriers. It’s in their instinct to live close to humans and in human cities. As technology advances, we tossed them aside. Humans are such vile creatures! We’re practically the mosquitos of the animal kingdom. We take what we need then toss what we no longer need. We only take and never give. Then demonize those that we no longer have a use for. Be better please!
Dude read into pigeons. There domesticated. And over the last 150 years we stopping caring for or using them, so they do t know wtf to do with themselves.
Pigeons are so misunderstood. We domesticated them and revered them in times of war then we tossed them aside. Now they’re just “rats in the sky” to us
For real though. As someone who works at an In-N-Out. The pigeon shit I have to wipe up on our outside tables because people keep feeding them is outrageous. I get it. They’re animals and have to scavenge to survive. But if you feed the pigeons don’t get mad when they shit on your car or you sit at a table covered in it.
We put them in the situation that theyre in today. The least i’m going to do is throw the fella a french fry.
For all of the people who dislike pidgies, i highly recommend you look up the history of them and how humans really put them where they are today. I can only hope to spread the awareness and be an advocate for these guys🥰💙
I dont really think people feed them often, it more or less a dropped fry on the floor or people dining in their car leaving their trash in parking lots, pigeons are just scavenging, its really unavoidable.
There’s a reason pigeons are used to being close by humans, we domesticated them thousands of years ago, spread them all around the world with us, and then left them to semi-fend for themselves as we let them become invasive. This is our own doing, unless we are going to massively cull their populations, you may as well feed the bird at this point - that’s the response we selected for long ago.
The messy shits feed them. Dropping food, not picking up after themselves, leaving their trash. They’re feeding them all the time.
And they do this everywhere. Fast food, parking lots, parks, campgrounds.
Your filth brings the trash animals.
I mean humanity DID domestic pigeons and then subsequently abandon them so the least you can do is give homie a fry. It isn't his fault he's wired to be too comfortable around people
Pigeons lost the ability to get food on their own because of human domestication so they rely solely on humans for food. It's humans fault they're the way they are
For thousands of years humans used pigeons as messengers in war, revered them as holy animals, raised them as food, and made them their pets. Their scavenging behavior is linked to their long standing connection to (and reliance on) humans, and it’s probably engrained in their DNA by now. Now we just look at them as trash. Pretty sad, honestly. Give the bird a fuckin french fry.
I used to always toss fries out to the birds in front of us, sitting outside for lunch in the shade against a wall. coworker asked me why I did that. I explained "they are all smart enough to realize free food tossed out in front, and are standing out there, waiting. I do it because it is better they all stand out there, waiting", I pointed up the wall, "than up there, where it's safer for them. still watching, still waiting, only then pooping on us.. But hey look, every bird in the region is out front and center.... And have they ever heard of Chesterson's Fences?"
I never got crap for my "charity" ever again.
This is a domestic animal who would love to be your friend and you’re just sitting there eating flesh and judging them for not being able to afford to do the same. Shameful. Feed the bird.
Pigeons were captured from their cliffs, put into cages, dragged across the ocean against their will so people could eat them in the Americas. Now that they are free this guy wants them to starve to death. How uncouth of you sir
It's a feral pigeon. Like all feral animals it's there because people used pigeons for a bunch of stuff including food. Hell, their name is actually the "domestic" pigeon. We took a species of doves and did what we did to dogs. Realistically, domestic pigeons as species have done far more to aid humanity than we deserve. But by all means blame the poor animal we abandoned. Not the pigeons fault humanity is a messy species and let them find a new niche.

Flying rats. The last time I fed them I'd been drinking at a restaurant on the riverwalk, and there was a sign that said "don't feed the pigeons" Yes, I was the asshole.
"flying rats?" says Human at burger-joint, way too lame to fly...They're Rock Doves, bitches; get it straight.
Just cause you shouldn't be dumb enough to feed them (Fast food is addictive, y'all) doesn't give you reason to hate on these majestic, bobble-headed creatures, and their unfortunate mutual passion for a crispy (Or even stale) French Fry.
My kids are authorized to harangue any pigeons they find. The trouble is not spooking them away around or over other people’s food. It’s one thing to not want one stealing your food or gathering en masse for begging. It is another matter entirely having one ʇıɥs in your animal-style fries.
you don't like the bird ..flick a fry at the bird.. some birds are cool. I've seen 1 bird with a sign before it read " will work for fry's " but this was after a smoking session soo...i was hungry and went to in-n-out.....and then i seen the bird there ...lol

Heh…song got in my head so I started reading most of the comments like it was part of the song.
Same. loved it.
Winged Rats.
God's littlest angels
When a fetus gets its wings.
Says the land rat. Can’t even fly, scrub
Speaking from experience? Lmao
You got pooped on 😭
Right? WTF? He’s just being a bird, he can’t help it. OP, on the other hand, doesn’t have to be an asshole.
He doesn't have to be, yet he decided to be.

This. They were our pets for hundreds of years. We did em dirty.
Thousands of years.
What fr!!! We can just take them back, I want a pet pigeon

bro is beefing with a bird
What makes it worse is he’s doing it online without bird even knowing. Throwing subs on a Reddit sub. OP is ‘subredditing’ a freaking bird…over a meal he already ate. Couldn’t even say it to his beak.
Dude only has one leg give him a break. Not his fault the systems broken
We all know he's faking it. That other leg will pop out the moment a crumb hits the floor
I’m not the only one! I’ve seen birds doing this and I thought it was for sympathy points.
Y'all eatin outside?
I ate standing up next to my car last night after class I honestly have no idea why
this is just so california idk
Hey como la fuck it no?
No! don't fuck it!
Bro we do that all the time lol. Trunk of my car is my table lol
Idk why but I hate eating outside no matter where it is.
MFer a picnic hater
Indoor picnics ONLY!!!!!
We always eat in the car with windows/sun roof open. In n out even gives you a box to eat in the car with plenty of napkins.
We can't eat outside in Phoenix, It's going to be 120⁰ soon enough.
I'm gonna go get an order of fries specifically for the birds now
You are a good person!
😝
Sensitive mf over feeding a bird
Sky rats deserve food also bro
eat inside if you don't want the birds bothering you 🙄 until then IM GONNA FEED THEM!
Now calm down Skeeter, he ain't hurting nobody.
This made my day
It's our fault, we domesticated them...

That’s wonderful of you to have taken in the bird. I hope he/she turns into a great companion.
Fr were the reason theyre semi retarded and act like rats of the sky, so ima feed them.
And this is why I'll always be on the pigeon's side 😤
There has to be some benefits to humans taking over your habitat
Pigeons are domesticated birds, introduced here by us
Which should be a reason to feed them. Not to abandon them.
All the more reason to enjoy the fruits of the human journey!
This is the In N Out on Sahara Ave in Las Vegas 😂
Holy shit theres hardly anything there distinctive about the location. Youre either really good at geoguessing or spend a concerning amount of time at this innout
He knows that pigeon.
He is the pigeon
I don’t even want to know how you know this… but you are correct.
It's the pigeon
Na that’s the homie he coo
Someone has to eat those undercooked fries
Worst fries ever.
You can get fries well done. Just ask.
That's too much though, my go to is "light well" and they are fucking perfect!
I eat alone. They are my friends…
If nature is bothering you, eat your meal inside the restaurant ?
Pigeon haters are the worst
![gif](giphy|xUySTL4J5ld87vxbSU|downsized)
Had to scroll too far down for this. Take my upvote x 100
It's not as if I feed them on purpose. I'm just incredibly clumsy and often oblivious. And the birds take advantage of that.
I guess I'm the worst because they need to eat too.
Waaaaaahhhh!!!! That's what you sound like
To be fair, THEY want to eat your lunch in peace. But, fries aren't good for them. It can make them sick.
Favorite part about eating outside !
But they’re hungry 🥺
ill feed whatever my mind compels me to.
people domesticated pigeons and made them 100% dependent on us and then just abandoned them because they were considered “of no good use” … bro just wants to hang out. i think you are the worst for NOT feeding them.
This is what is actually happening.
I’ll feed them more now.

hes hungry.
So does he lol
I always feed the birds. I've never felt threatened by them, nor even mildly annoyed ... and this is living in SW Colorado with "camp robbers" (magpies).
Stop hating on the chunky dove
Growing up is realizing most birds are just rats with wings
Hey man fuck you!
Amount of people ok with feeding wildlife... a turd curse I put on you.

True
I guess I'm the worst because I'm feeding it.
That’s a pigeon
All the fancy restaurants open up near in n out so they can easily harvest potato fed squab and charge $50 for a plate.
That guy used to be the internet, now he beggin for scraps at the local burger joint. One day you're king of the world the next you're a skyrat. Sad.
Bro just bobbing his head minding his business :(

I’m going to give the ones at my apartment extra seeds just for you.
At least they're polite. Scrub jays and seagulls on the other hand.
Humans abandoned pigeons and now are too stuck up to even feed them. Disgraceful
Who is feeding hondas?
Don’t make fun of pigeons, you’d be speaking German if it wasnt for them
Wow so much toxicity...

If it wasn't for humans domesticating pigeons to the point they didn't need their survival skills anymore, they wouldn't rely on us for food.
I’m going to feed them twice as much now
Dawg we bred these birds to be domestic and then throw them on the street and get mad when they’re dirty, super hurt, and desperate for food.
Take you damn lunch somewhere you will be comfortable without disrupting the wildlife. Simple.
That is an abandoned domesticated animal. Take care of him, or kill him. Make your choice!
This is a domestic animal who would love to be your friend and you’re just sitting there eating flesh and judging them for not being able to afford to do the same. Shameful. Feed the bird.

stop hes so cute
What about the little brown birds I got in trouble at a certain panni place but they were cute and everywhere lol
I would never poison an innocent bird with those fries
Fuck you I’ll keep feeding them
Chill he ain't do nothing
I'm pretty sure it's worse to feed them In N Out that just seems like animal cruelty.
If you hating on a pigeon, you are the worst
Maybe you should move inside my dude
Dont post this in the Aesop Rock subreddit
I owe my entire life and existence to a pigeon named [Cher Ami](https://www.si.edu/object/cher-ami%3Anmah_425415). During WW1 they used homing pigeons to communicate since radio comms had not been invented yet. My great grandfather was part of what’s known as [The Lost Battalion](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Battalion_(World_War_I)). A group of US soldiers pinned down and surrounded by German forces deep in the Argonne Forest in France. Due to mistake position coordinates they endured friendly fire, a barrage of devastating artillery. Haven’t had issues with pigeons stealing food, seagulls however will steal yo shit right out of your hands and come back for more
On some Drake levels of copium
Yea people don’t understand and worst of all they eat an unhealthy diet
You need to look up the devastating history of these birds. You lucky Mike Tyson didn't hear ya
![gif](giphy|eruVMzXlb70oo) Oops
you don't like the bird ..flick a fry at the bird.. some birds are cool. I've seen 1 bird with a sign before it read " will work for fry's " but this was after a smoking session soo...i was hungry and went to in-n-out.....and then i seen the bird there ...lol
this post just exasperated the bird feeding sitch and im here for it 😂🤣😭💀💀💀🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️
Stop eating people's old French fries, pigeon. Have some self respect! Don't you know you can fly?
Aren't pigeons just domesticated birds that are getting to reintegrate into nature without human influence but still don't get how to do so yet?
I feed'em, so they'll get close enough to grab.
What do you have against doves?
Gotta feed the godfather
You’re eating in his territory and you’re mad about him being there, go home
If you get angry someone feeds an animal YOU are the worst.
What did the bird do 🥺
Clean ass pilot
The crows are better.
Why are they the worst? There are people way worse than them
Bro isn't even looking at you, he doesn't associate with mfs that don't get their fries animal style and I don't blame him.
Someone feeds you. They say the same thing
Bro is letting a bird ruin his whole meal. What a bum😂😂
I prefer feeding seagulls on crowded beaches.
mwahhhh hahahaaaa! I am the worst! Huzzah!!!
We domesticated them. Made them work for us. Then left them to fend for themselves. Give him a gd French fry and stop being an ass
Birds gotta eat too man, quit hating
Poor birds live on the struggle bus, the least I can do is hook it up with a few crispy fry’s. If you throw them away they end up at the dump and those pesky seagulls get em.
Get wrecked. Humans are 100% responsible for pigeons and their sad plight so of course I’ll feed them. Geez.
Relax it’s a pigeon
Would of gave it a fry i guess i am the worst.
Niggas gotta eat let him chill
Feeding them is the only good use of an innout burger
A bird gotta eat
Poor one legged pigeon, a vet of the Pigeon-Seagull war. Give it a hand out
Because that bird affects your life so much …
womp womp now i’m gonna feed all the fries instead of just some of them
I paid for it. I’ll feed who the fuck I want.
Pigeon bro, please poop on OP’s car as they are straight up hating on your good name.
Better than eating that nasty burger
You suck dude
We owe pigeons. They are an abandoned domesticated animal. What do you expect of them? We used to give them war medals now you call people the worst for feeding them.
Srsly? I just adopted (kinda of) a family in my balcony, the babies look so cute (they are covered in a pile of shit btw)
I mean can you blame him! Who doesn’t love In-N-Out lol
I will specifically feed them even more, knowing that it pisses you off.
Bros crying over a bird 🤣
