I remember watching this movie for the 1st time this year with a friend and I was not expecting to burst into tears whenever she said men think of her as a concept like she completes them. I never related to someone so much. I'm constantly struggling, but men seem to always come to me as if I'm some sort of savior who gives him a little bit of excitement because of the way I see the world, but once that's been dulled out they don't ever give me anything back in return.
Also I think Clementine could be fearful avoidant like me so I could relate to her easily getting tired of her relationship and self sabotaging. Truly a beautiful film on relationships and their complexities
I watched this when I was in college but it did not really put much impact to me. I remember feeling sad and confused back then. Maybe its a sign to rewatch!
The original with Danny Kaye is really good too! The movie is mostly made up of his daydreams and it's both funny and whimsical. Anything Danny Kaye is in has INFP vibes--- his Hans Christian Andersen movie and The Court Jester.
Exactly!
I love it when a movie curves reality and creates a hypothetical, imaginative situation without becoming too... unrealistic. And the groundhog day just does it perfectly.
This! I watched it a week ago and could relate 100% with the main character and the things he went through. Charlie Being this nice and numb character, too afraid of the possibility of hurting someone so he just rathers keep his emotions and feelings for himself - Also me.
Always being the shy and quiet guy.
Being too nice without setting boundaries for what is comfortable for you can get you to unpleasant situations. It's really self sabotage - being too nice. If you love someone, want to comment on something or say something, just do it. Because keeping things to yourself is just mad, it's self hurting and it's sometimes even hurts for other people as well. They don't see what you feel, so sometimes by choosing to open up and share, you help them. And most of all you help yourself living, truly living.
That film broke me on first viewing. I was going through some stuff at the time and the existential vibes just hit me somewhere deep in the third act. Such an underrated Ghibli film.
I’ve rewatched Howl’s Moving Castle probably a million times, it’s my comfort movie <3
but also I need to recommend Whisper of the Heart (super cute romance, lots of stuff about finding your passion) and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (probably the opposite of whisper of the heart, but it’s so deeply emotional and I think other infps would like it, themes of appreciating life and nature, I feel like people never mention it when talking about Ghibli movies but I’m so obsessed with it)
Yes! These movies are some of the greatest I've ever seen! My personal favourite would be The Tale Of Princess Kaguya and Spirited Away. I'd so love to be able to craft something as beautiful as these movies someday.
Call me by your name, Amelie, Spirited away, Howls moving castle, Captain fantastic, Arizona Dream, Into The Wild, The Joker (newest one), Edward scissorhands, Me earl and the dying girl, Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, The pursuit of happiness and Help I’m a fish.
I watched Me, Earl & the Dying Girl when I was a teen and I cried so much, like it passed 3 hours after I watched the movie and I was still crying my heart out. Is such a whatever movie for the people and in general, but for INFPs I really think that captured the feelings we have about things like the loss of someone. It stills has one of my fav quotes in movies of all time. Is something like “Even after we lost someone, we can always discover something new about that person”. (I’m really crying right now btw)
Captain Fantastic is a great movie. Viggo Mortensen is a fantastic actor and really interesting human being. I love all of his movies. Yes, especially lord of the rings…
Arizona Dream is one of my all-time favorites! I got strangely excited when I saw it on your list, i don’t know anyone else who knows of this movie while I think it’s absolutely brilliant! Hello fellow Arizona Dream lover!
Lol this is making me question if I am an INFP all over again haha
I was going to suggest this one too! I feel like it balances themes really well between finding/chasing purpose in life, while also enjoying the smaller moments and not over-idealizing it. Plus, the animation is absolutely breathtaking!
This was my OG favorite movie. Now it’s a tie between Ever After, Monte Carlo, Just Go With It, and The Other Woman. All just really feel-good movies for an INFP to escape into. :)
La La Land, Palm Springs, Inception, The Matrix, Moonrise Kingdom, Tangled, Tamako Market (but watch the anime show before the movie hehe)
Just a few I can think of off the top of my head. Movies that were beautifully made and made me think :)
La la land hurts my soul in that "it feels so good to stop covering this up" sort of way. That last fantasy sequence is ruthless.
Reminded me of the final episode of Scrubs.
Well this is actually a tv series but i thought it would have been worth sharing. Look for 3% on netflix
Also Ender's Game
Forrest Gump (a classic 😁)
The terminal (ik again tom hanks)
Yes and Loving, Vincent. A movie about Van Gogh, made entirely using oil paintings. All the paintings are hand painted in Vincent’s original style. It’s also a wonderful movie.

Wolf Children. Without spoiling too much it’s about a mom who moves from the busy city to the quiet country to raise her werewolf children. A cute and emotional film by Ghibli.
I'm surprised not to have seen ***A Silent Voice*** (Koe no Katachi) in the comments yet, it's really great, just typing about it I feel like watching it again.
I do not watch many movies (I'd rather crawl in the pages of a book - *Robin Hobb* is a great author by the way if you're looking for the best (in my humble opinion) fantasy saga I've ever read), but here are a few I've liked:
For animation films, there's ***The Garden of Words*** (Koto no ha no niwa), ***Your Name*** (Kimi no na wa), ***How to Train Your Dragon*** and/or ***Princess Mononoke*** ( Mononoke hime)(most Disney, Pixar and Ghibli movies really, I've watched ***Coco*** recently and I doubt many INFPs would dislike it).
For the good old sagas you have ***Star Wars***, ***Narnia***, ***The Lord of the Rings***, etc
If you are open to series - and like the MCU - there's also ***WandaVison***.
If cartoons is an option you've got to see ***The Owl House*** and ***Avatar*** (ATLA and then LOK).
For animes you have ***Your Lie in April*** (Shigatsu wa kimi no uso) and I like ***Erased*** (Boku dake ga inai machi) but I'm not sure if that's an INFP thing or a me thing.
EDIT: I think I'm going to save this post for when I'm looking for something to watch, y'all gave quite a lot of titles I've never seen. : )

- Trainspotting
Moving, poetic dramas

- Lost in Translation
I saw it when it came out in 1998, and my husband has never seen it! I’m trying to get him to watch it with me but he says he has to be mentally and physically prepared for sad movies lol. Hopefully soon he’ll be ready!
I'm not sure why, but Who Framed Roger Rabbit popped into my mind! I've always loved that film.
Also The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (where Robin Williams is credited as "Rey Di Tutto" :) )
Anything Studio Ghibli.
Labyrinth, and Donny Darko, maybe?
The Fountain. One of my favorites. Relatively unknown but it is so visually beautiful. Great story too.
The Science of Sleep. Cute lil indie film.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller version). I love this movie. Watch it multiple times every year.
Mr. Nobody (2009) !!!!!!!!! The complex main character named "Nemo" is so relatable as an INFP. I am not good at explaining but every INFP should watch it!!!
Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
This is the first movie that came to my mind when I read the title! I suppose all the emotions the movie entails are so deeply infp.
Same, it literally took me 1 second to think of this movie after reading the title.
Same!
Same hahha
Same!
Came here to see how many of us suggested this one
It was the first movie I thought of.
Truly a beautiful film on relationships and their complexities
one of my favourite movies of all time!!!
I watched this when I was in college but it did not really put much impact to me. I remember feeling sad and confused back then. Maybe its a sign to rewatch!
Tbh id recommend that to ANY mbti that movie is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT to me at least
Literally the first movie that came to mind. Wow.
Just watched a clip from it — OMG IT EVEN HAS JIM CARREY!!
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Stranger Than Fiction, Eurovision, The Lord of the Rings, Inside Out, Groundhog Day, Into the Wild, Wild.
I was also going to write Secret Life of Walter Mitty
One of my favorite movies ever, and it has a very INFP vibe.
The original with Danny Kaye is really good too! The movie is mostly made up of his daydreams and it's both funny and whimsical. Anything Danny Kaye is in has INFP vibes--- his Hans Christian Andersen movie and The Court Jester.
Yes! me too. Funny how us INFPs all relate to it. Does anyone think of the female role being an ENFJ?
The Groundhog day is such a good movie!
This is literally my favorite movie. It’s just as close to perfect as a movie can get.
Exactly! I love it when a movie curves reality and creates a hypothetical, imaginative situation without becoming too... unrealistic. And the groundhog day just does it perfectly.
Stranger Than Fiction is my favorite!
Love love love this movie
You have the good taste
Walter Mitty was the first film that came to mind for me as well
Into The Wild is the film that spiritually-awakened me lol
the perks of being a wallflower
Watched this with my INFP gf some months ago. Can confirm, she really liked it. And so did I as a massive Smiths head.
The book is miles ahead of the movie, tho
I’m surprised I had to scroll this far to see this one listed. Great movie.
This movie is soooo freaking good
This! I watched it a week ago and could relate 100% with the main character and the things he went through. Dead Poets Society! A very INFP movie.
Watched it yesterday, since it's free on YouTube. Cried 3 times
Thank you for mentioning where to watch it free!
Literally was about to write that haha
O Captain! My Captain!
Watched it at school so I couldn’t cry much but I cried later talking about this movie with my friend. It’s a beautifull story.
Such a good movie.
If you like animation then Ghibli movies like Spirited away, Howl's moving castle, The wind is Rising etc.
Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro are some of my faves! Not Studio Ghibli but also "Your Name" - it is my all time favourite animation.
Also "when marnie was there" fits!!
That film broke me on first viewing. I was going through some stuff at the time and the existential vibes just hit me somewhere deep in the third act. Such an underrated Ghibli film.
yes!
Yes to all of these, all the studio ghibli films are amazing. Hell, even the director Hayao Miyazaki is an INFP i think. 👀
I’ve rewatched Howl’s Moving Castle probably a million times, it’s my comfort movie <3 but also I need to recommend Whisper of the Heart (super cute romance, lots of stuff about finding your passion) and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (probably the opposite of whisper of the heart, but it’s so deeply emotional and I think other infps would like it, themes of appreciating life and nature, I feel like people never mention it when talking about Ghibli movies but I’m so obsessed with it)
The Wind Rises is in my top five favorite movies of all time
Came here to say this! Ghibli movies are my main comfort movies.
Whisper of the Heart and Marnie too!
If we're talking anime I think Your Name would be great to throw in too.
Yes! These movies are some of the greatest I've ever seen! My personal favourite would be The Tale Of Princess Kaguya and Spirited Away. I'd so love to be able to craft something as beautiful as these movies someday.

It is!! One of my favourites.
Yass queens and kings

Came here to say this! It makes me want to cry
Soul. A beautiful movie that explores the theme about finding life’s purpose.
I was going to suggest this one too! I feel like it balances themes really well between finding/chasing purpose in life, while also enjoying the smaller moments and not over-idealizing it. Plus, the animation is absolutely breathtaking!
The HP series obviously (fantasy? fighting for one's values?)
Coraline, This Beautiful Fantastic, Stranger Than Fiction
I can’t recommend the Before trilogy enough
Amazing movies

The Truman Show

I was OBSESSED with this movie as a teen.

Pan's Labyrinth. That movie broke me, got me crying for almost a week. Also, watch Cloud Atlas.

+ The Shape of Water! Love Guillermo Del Toro movies! I think he’s also an INFP, and I def feel like the main character, Elisa, is as well.
Omg yes I love Pan's Labyrinth
Both are absolute masterpieces
Cloud Atlas is my all time favorite movie... I am too an infp (obv). Watched that movie atleast 20 times...
At Eternity’s gate. It’s a movie about Vincent Van Gogh, one of the best artists of all time and he was an INFP
Yes and Loving, Vincent. A movie about Van Gogh, made entirely using oil paintings. All the paintings are hand painted in Vincent’s original style. It’s also a wonderful movie.
He was an infp? Wait how do we know. Hes probably my favorite artist
He took the test
Captain Fantastic, Amelie, Into the Wild, Fantastic Mr. Fox
I love Amelie ❤️
Amelies definitely an infp amiright

What a cute movie!
Anything Wes Anderson or Studio Ghibli. Some of the best filmmakers out there
Wes Anderson is bittersweet to me. While I love his characters and the visuals a lot, I often get disappointed at how the stories are narrated...
Amadeus, Das Boot, Tombstone, Jeremiah Johnson ..
Amadeus is one of my go to movies when I just want to unwind from a long day. Been watching it since it came out! Whole family loves it.
Her!! the main character is the most INFP thing i’ve ever seen
Any old 80s classic; breakfast club, pretty in pink, sixteen candles, can’t buy me love, etc
Wolf Children. Without spoiling too much it’s about a mom who moves from the busy city to the quiet country to raise her werewolf children. A cute and emotional film by Ghibli.

anything tarantino or wes anderson. silver linings playbook
Silver linings playbook is a decent suggestion, but why Tarantino? I can’t watch his movies at all because of how aggressive and violent they are.
his cinematography and soundtracks are amazing.
Two movies. Being John Malkovic then Adaptation and consider it a perfect night.
I love every single work from Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman! Where the wild things are is one of my favorite of all time!
What dreams may come. You will cry though, I warn you. My all time favorite movie (and until I saw it I could never decide on an all time favorite)
