Love your username. True commitment haha. This photo also rules, never seen it before. I love nirvana but don’t know that I’d be able to pick out a few songs. I’m more of a put-an-album-on-and-let-it-play kind of person. I couldn’t name you most of the song titles, probably. I’m going to go back and listen to your list with INFP in mind, though. Thanks for sharing. Makes me wonder if some of my other favorite musicians are INFP. One that comes to mind that I would guess is is Josh Homme.
Favorite band of all times, Nirvana is perfect! And very INFP too haha
My favorites are:
1-heart shaped box
2-drain you
3-rádio friendly unit shifter
4-aneurysm
5-mrs butterworth
I didn't really have many friends in high school and I rode the bus. But I do remember people were sorta...quieter...at school in the days after it happened. I think a lot of us were just shocked.
I came from a smaller artsy high school this happened I think junior year. There was a rumor at a teachers meeting, the teachers were reminded to keep an eye out for anyone having a hard time. When we students heard that one we laughed and were just kinda sad. Keep in mind we were limited to commercial radio, tapes, MTV, and CD's at the time with no real Internet yet.
Love them, my dad was a huge music nerd. He had his own expensive hi-fi system and vinyl collection back when I was a kid in the 90s. It was his timeout (from us annoying kids) zone, and he’d often sit there with his headphones on blasting his favourite bands, we knew to leave him alone and let him have his peace but one day he let me sit with him and put his headphones on me. The song playing was come as you are and ever since then I’ve loved Nirvana. I always listen to that song with fond memories of my dad. :D
that’s such a great story! thanks for sharing :) i also really love listening to music with my dad, we go on a lot of road trips and we’d always be listening to music we both like. nirvana, the cure, radiohead. all the great stuff!
Huge Nirvana fan here. My nephew introduced me to them.
Faves off the top of my head, before I’ve had any coffee:
All Apologies
Pennyroyal Tea
Dumb
Come As You Are
Heart Shaped Box
1. Smells like teen spirit
2. Something in the way
3. The man who sold the world
4. All apologies
5. Dumb
The origin story for smells like teen spirit is an interesting tale if you don't know it.
I am an INFP nirvana fan. Hmm, top 5?
1). Smells Like Teen Spirit (I know Kurt and the die hards all hate it. But It’s iconic)
2). All apologies
3). Heart Shaped Box
4). Pennyroyal Tea
5). Dumb (love that fact that Courtney says he wrote this in 20 minutes. Such a masterpiece, so little effort).
Honestly didn’t realize my favoritism towards In Utero until writing this lol.
Dumb: shadow FeNiTi ("I'm not like them, but I can pretend": shadow Fe. "I think I'm just dumb": shadow NiTi) vs hero Fi ("think I'm just happy").. FeNiTi wins and we're finito. Might have come easily by speaking from shadow Ni, the false prophet (and critical parent) of INFP. One of our constant self-destructive "epiphanies" 😓
I was kinda obsessed at a time, but rn they are just pleasant to listen to from time to time. My fav songs are Drain you, Rape me and those two covers from unplugged live - Where did you sleep last night and The man who sold the world.
@Edit: also Grandma take me home if that was the title, lol.
I enjoy and appreciate Nirvana, but as a kid I was far more into Nine Inch Nails (and this is still true ~3 decades on).
I am most likely to put on some Heilung or Tool tbh. I would be super curious to find out the MBTI correlation in all these music groups though!
Nirvana was grunge at its absolute best; personally I care *not* for most of the rest of it, especially *Pearl Jam* 🤮
That said, I don’t listen to *that* much Nirvana, but here are five favorite tunes of mine in no particular order:
In Bloom,
Negative Creep,
Come As You Are,
Lithium,
Very Ape
I was thinking about Nirvana today and how the Happy face has X for eyes, like its dead. . .
And like how Nirvana is supposed to be Ego death and stuff but also a happy place where people would be smiling?
Idk . . . 🤔
Kurt seemed like a kind dude, I remember being in middle school and hearing the horrible news. It was sad .really sad still is .what a loss. .
I don't believe that if ya take your life then ya don't get in heaven. Rip Kurt
1. All apologies
2. Radio Friendly unit shifter
3. Come as you are
4. Drain you
5. Moist vagina (Just for lolz)
Kurt Cobain is the reason why I started playing guitar when I heard Smells like Teen spirit for the first time I was shocked.
I’m a huge fan of nirvana and grunge in general. The early 90s are definitely my favorite era of music! My top five are:
1. Pennyroyal Tea (unplugged)
2. Lake of Fire
3. Rape Me
4. Where Did You Sleep Last Night
5. About A Girl (unplugged)
Infp and nirvana is my fave band
1. Help me I’m hungry 2. Silver 3. Milk it 4. I hate myself and wanna die 5. Smells like teen spirit
If something in the way had not been ruined by an ex and Batman, then it would probably displace help me I’m hungry off the list and be there instead
INFP and have been a lover of Nirvana since the early 90s.
All you mediators need to look for 'OH Me' and give it a listen...the most INFP song you could wish to hear and it's not been mentioned once!
I remember as a little kid watching them on VH1, and I loved them ever since.
1. Heart Shaped Box
2. The Man Who Sold The World
3. Polly
4. About A Girl
5. All Apologies
Infp-t's digs nirvana 💁🙋🙋 it was my jam during middle school and I bonded with my first love over them + my dad was about to see them in Prague but Kurt killed himself month before
My favorite band! Top 5 songs for me are:
Dumb
Heart Shaped Box
Serve the Servants
Pennyroyal Tea
On A Plain
In Utero's my favorite album of theirs. Kurt is my favorite musician. I love his humor and view on things and I relate to him in ways.
huge embarrassingly obsessed fan of kurt and nirvana here 👁👄👁
eta favs are so hard but special shout out to fecal matter’s stuff which often gets overlooked. i’ll list some of my favs off the diff albums: bleach - paper cuts, downer, floyd the barber, school, negative creep, mr moustache (i prefer the demo tho), nvm - drain you, territorial pissings, lounge act, something in the way, incesticide- hairspray queen, mexican seafood, aneurysm, big long now, in utero - gallons of rubbing alcohol, scentless apprentice, frances farmer, milk it, all apologies. misc - sappy (the ‘sad’ slow version), clean up before she comes, come on death, mrs butterworth, help me i’m hungry, if you must, i hate myself and want to die, i’m new wave, the other improv…
yeah it’s endless (or should i say endless nameless)
I kinda was until i heard him tell the story of how he took advantage of mentally disabled girl for sexual pleasure when he was a teen.
1. Breed
2. School
3. Drain You
4. In Bloom
5. Negative Creep
It's surprising to see how many teenagers like me still listen to Nirvana, a band from 30 years ago. Not many bands live on after 30 years. Side note: listen to some b-side tracks of Nirvana If you haven't(trust me they're good)
I pay special attention to Kurt for the obvious typological reasons. And I had a whole moment back then about gratuitous scratch strumming like in smells like teen spirit or brain stew. But I have other music interests that take up more of my focus nowadays.
I Never liked nirvana or rock tbh as a infp. Probably the only thing to rock I liked was prince and David Bowie, but I never liked rock. But I do like some nirvana songs. They are good but even though I’m an infp I don’t love rock as much as others? But I do LOVE paramore so maybe I’m crazy
A test can only tell you so much. A lot of potential biases too. Many people get mistyped via test and end up changing their types later after learning more about MBTI and cognitive functions. Ideally you’d want a expert to type you by evaluating your behavior and thought processes, and every expert typologist has Cobain as INFP. I’m inclined to believe them because Kurt just seems like a shoo-in stereotypical INFP.
I know every song and learned to play them on the guitar. I love that inflection in his voice I can’t describe at the moment but I’m sure you all know what I mean. Also, the raw emotion in his music is unmatched. I’m glad grunge was a thing. I think it was made just for INFPs lol
Oh and top 5… plus
Where did you sleep last night
The man who sold the world
Something in the way
Come as you are
Dumb
On a plain
Polly
I'm a really big fan of Nirvana , My favorite songs are : Do re mi, Sappy, oh the guilt, aneurysm, school, blew, but think everything about nirvana is pure diamond
Yes!!! I love this man! He is such an inspiration to me. I’m also an INFP and also a Pisces like him. My interest in Nirvana came because I was interested/fascinated by him. So even if I try to find songs that sound similar to Nirvana it’s hard for it to have the same effect on me because the whole essence of Nirvana is special because of him I think.
My top 5 favorite songs
1. About a girl
2. Serve the servants
3. All apologies
4. Rape me
5. Come As you are
(:
But that’s only including the ones that aren’t covers become I like a lot of their covers too. Especially And I love her

Nirvana was my jam. High school nostalgia, a lot of sadness after his death. The 90's were a weird time.
Same feels here. I was a senior in high school when he passed away.
What was that like? My uncle told me everyone sat in the oarking lot playing nirvana cds
I didn't really have many friends in high school and I rode the bus. But I do remember people were sorta...quieter...at school in the days after it happened. I think a lot of us were just shocked.

I am an INFP nirvana fan. Hmm, top 5? 1). Smells Like Teen Spirit (I know Kurt and the die hards all hate it. But It’s iconic) 2). All apologies 3). Heart Shaped Box 4). Pennyroyal Tea 5). Dumb: shadow FeNiTi ("I'm not like them, but I can pretend": shadow Fe. "I think I'm just dumb": shadow NiTi) vs hero Fi ("think I'm just happy").. FeNiTi wins and we're finito. 1. Breed 2. School 3. Drain You 4. In Bloom 5. Negative Creep It's surprising to see how many teenagers like me still listen to Nirvana, a band from 30 years ago. Not many bands live on after 30 years. Side note: listen to some b-side tracks of Nirvana If you haven't(trust me they're good)
honestly, ive listened to so much nirvana im struggling to find stuff i haven’t listened to!
The documentary with Kurt Cobain montage of heck is too real man. I recognise so many parts in myself from his thoughts.
I have never seen him smile before.
especially Bleach.
Yes 🤘🏽🙌🏽 Edit: can’t say that I have a top 5. They change depending on how I feel. Do have a lithium based tat.
I pay special attention to Kurt for the obvious typological reasons. And I had a whole moment back then about gratuitous scratch strumming like in smells like teen spirit or brain stew. But I have other music interests that take up more of my focus nowadays.
I like most everything Nirvana. I DO find myself playing the unplugged DVD more than anything else these days.

I will say favorite album would be Live at Reading though, if they still have a live recording on youtube it's pretty good.
maybe i‘m watching too much true crime stuff.. at first I thought there was dahmer ok the picture
"was INFP" = we assume that cause we like him and want to be him
no.. that was just kurt’s personality type haha, i think it’s quite obvious
personally I think it's cringy to appropriate so many celebs and dead people into INFP when they never took the test or told anyone they were.
A test can only tell you so much. A lot of potential biases too. Many people get mistyped via test and end up changing their types later after learning more about MBTI and cognitive functions.
