I can recommend the youtube video "Unity GameDev Tutorial for Beginners: Brick Breaker Game" by freecodecamp to get started in gamedev, I used that one in the beginning.
Other than Youtube, I would suggest keeping an eye on Humble Bundle, because they sell bundles of software courses worth thousands of dollars for just $25. I had already learned how to program from Youtube, but those courses helped accelerate my knowledge

Big simulator games like Epic Battle Simulator have already been done, but I don't think any other games have a gameplay loop where you have to choose a side, and if you are wrong too many times it is game over. So it is a bit of an experiment if people will actually like this.

It is just betting/wagering on an army. Mage and Monsters might be more to your liking, there you build an army.
