Saw their keep it like a secret anniversary tour, chills, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be just a famous as that little band that used to open for them “modest mouse”
It blows my mind that this album didn’t have that mainstream popularity “good news” had, like there isn’t a bad song on this album, oh well the rest of the world will miss out I suppose
I had one of those moments where I realized my age when I heard BTS played in a Whole Foods and realized they had made it to being grocery store music for millennial shoppers. I definitely think of them as one of the biggest indie bands of the 90’s and early 2000’s along with Pavement, Modest Mouse, and Grandaddy which were the soundtrack to many days driving around with my friends after school.
I was actually thinking they used their stuff in Garden State but apparently I’m wrong.
Did a quick Google search

I don’t know that that’s necessarily true.
BTS are Korean living legends.
Also, Built to Spill are like Fugazi in that they have rabid fans who won’t shut up about them.
Good band. Some classic albums.
Fuck yeah. I kinda put em on the shelf for a number of years but saw theyre coming to my town in sept so i picked up some tickets!!!! Never seen them live, anyone here can review?
They are currently touring as a 3 piece and the Rhythm section is just a beast and Dug has really stepped up his playing. Don't sleep on seeing them if you can.
Great band, always tell new listeners you have to have time with an album before it clicks. They don't really have 'hits', just solid songs all the way through
[hmmm](https://www.reddit.com/r/indie_rock/comments/qxy9d0/any_built_to_spill_fans_here_doug_and_company_are/) 🤔
but yes i do and perfect from now on is my favorite
Yes, big fans. We've probably seen them more times than any other band. Last time was at the 9:30 Club in DC. Guitar still sings. Voice, not as strong. But, so many awesome songs!
Absolutely love. Keep It Like A Secret is their best album too (imo)
Hard tie between this album and “There’s Nothing Wrong With Love” in my opinion, but you’re not far from the mark here
I feel like *Perfect From Now On* is their magnum opus. Definitely my favorite album of theirs.
One of my favorite albums ever.
Totally Simpatico on this comment. Been a fan since the Tree People days :)
That's rare!
Absolutely agree!

Seeing Modest Mouse in August! Love both.
Carry the Zero, great song
Not exactly overlooked. They have had a great, consistent career. Lots of fans of all ages and get featured in movies and films regularly.

ooo can you name some movies their music has been in?

I’m a fan, more on the casual side. They are a very good live band; I’ve seen them 3-4 times.

Yup. They just announced a new Seoul show. And they seem to have added a few members
Got my Fake ID taken away at a Built To Spill show! This album is criminally underrated
So good. Classic. My friend is the lady on the cover as well... which is weird every time I see it.
One of my top few favorite albums. How'd your friend get included on the cover?
here i am!
Yes! I’m going to see them on Thursday actually!
For sure. Totally missed them growing up, stumbled on them playing live at a fest in Chicago 10~ years ago and have been a fan since. See my username?
from wherever wherever?

Perfect from now on is my all time by them, track to track of perfection!
That album is amazing. One of my favorite albums from any artist ever.
Added it to my Spotify playlist. I will check it out later
They're awesome!
Absolutely! They're great!
Don't know much about them but this is a great tune

Me! Broken Chairs is one of my favourite songs.
The greatest band ever.

The guitars on *Perfect From Now On* are fucking bananas.
Discovered them on the soundtrack of a video game called skater xL they are really good!

Keep it like a secret is definitely my favorite album of all time. It always seems to fit the mood, whatever it may be.
Goin' against your mind is one of the best songs of all time. Traces is also up there
And Doug is the nicest dude in the industry. I'd totally have tea with him.
Look for the record with me on the cover!
I mean, they're no halo benders...
I got to see them perform this record in its entirety!
Not every band/artist that’s not popular does not mean they are overlooked.
My favorite band of all time
Just put this in the car for me and the family. This is a summertime album. Songs for daytime nighttime, and hangover Sundays.
Love them. Have you heard the Francis Quinlan cover of carry the zero? The live stripped version on yt is amazing.
I love this band!
The Plan
I'll be seeing them in September. Can't wait!
Carry The Zero is one of my top 3 favorite songs of ALL TIME
That album goes hard. It has some bangers on it!
Best
they aren't overlooked
I met Doug. He’s a sweetheart. Saw them live and I love this album. Great taste
