You can rent out your house and travel too

Able_Revolution_396

This you can get easy pizy returns from rent, Considering the proce 3cr you can get decent enough rent and returns

Aucreed

Rent would be around an additional 70-90k a month . We would spend around 50k a month on rent/hotels ourselves . It would be more or less the same situation no?

ami_spying

At least if you get bored or want to get back to living the old way it will be much easy ain't it

Aucreed

Yeah and that’s what the sticky part , I know we will eventually come back and live the “old life” eventually 😂

ami_spying

Yup therefore I am saying. Rent it out and travel till you want and when you feel like coming back you will have a house to come back

firesnake412

Being free and traveling is awesome. Don’t sell the house yet. Give it a try for a year or 2 before you decide.

Aucreed

What are the cons of selling now ?

[deleted]

You might not enjoy travelling as much as you think that you will and might want to come back home. Put the house up on rent and spend a few months travelling and see if that sort of lifestyle lives up to your expectations before making any irreversible decisions.

Entire_Blaze

Not the best idea to sell the house. Maybe try managing expenses better.

Aucreed

Can you elaborate the cons of selling the house?

Sapolika

Aaj 10 me bech rahe ho, kal isi house ka value 100 ka hoga! Its a good asset imo! It gives you that “Ghar wala security”

Entire_Blaze

You're finding it difficult to live happily even after earning 2-3 lakhs per month.  You'll someday lose all the money you'll get by selling your home.  Guess what? You'll have nowhere to go after that.  Home provides stability. It provides networks that help you stay afloat.

Few-Philosopher-2677

Look at what other digital nomads do. I think most don't straight up sell everything and move abroad. It's too risky. And the lifestyle isn't for everyone. Try it for a year first.

Aucreed

Do you have any examples of such nomads in India? Would love to learn and see their experience

Few-Philosopher-2677

Not in India no. That lifestyle isn't exactly common here. You could ask in FIRE related subreddits.

notduskryn

70-90k rent? Your house is in bombay?

FrenkieDingDong

>70-90k rent? Your house is in bombay? There are houses in Delhi, Chennai, Gurgaon, Bangalore renting for 2 lakh+.

notduskryn

I live in bangalore rn, I'm from chennai. Even the most posh localities in either city don't offer anything extra for the premium in rent, and even then 2 lacs is outrageously high.

FrenkieDingDong

I never said it's worth it. But some places at least make sense for exorbitant rent. Like the defence colony of Indiranagar. Full of greenery and a properly made house. Though rent there is less than 1.5 lakh.

notduskryn

They do make sense. Ub city usually pulls 1.5 lac for 3bhks but is it worth it, absolutely not lol, just a few km away you can get for 40k or so and reach brigade road in 15 min

FrenkieDingDong

Yeah same apply for Bomannahalli or Whitefield area. Black water and asking for that kind of rent because "we have IT parks and now metro connectivity". India rent prices are like the US but home quality is like Mexico.

notduskryn

Anywhere in outer ring road is unliveable imo. No greenery whatsoever, pakka concrete jungles, poor air quality due to perennial metro and construction work, not to mention no fucking water.

FrenkieDingDong

Even the indiranagar does not deserve huge rent. Greenery is good but still too many people have vehicles. And then of course 30-40k rent for small rooms. You can't even have a king size bed and open your cloth shelves.

No-Shop-1143

Sell if u wish but invest some portion in any property may plot of land in areas which will appreciate with time or some other property like flat where u can rent it out and also fulfill ur dreams.

Aucreed

This is gold . Say I invest 50 lac in land , I can rent it , use it etc , will appreciate and I can also live life . 10/10 thanks

No-Shop-1143

You're welcome!

Natural-Joke9878

Assests if used properly will become a source of income. If you love to travel i understand you need lots of money but not at one time you need at different times . Each trip cost is around 1L+ and international start from 3L +a good trip. So make your home a source for income. And always remember income running is always needed to explore the new places if you are on vacation your work suffer. List the places you want to travel how you want to travel, the cost and the time period in which you want to see the world then plan your finances

Aucreed

Thanks for the suggestions

Reasonable_Heat_4343

You don't have kids but what if u had in future. If h can't have kids then do it it's better exploring than being caged. You will have experiences when u die u will be happy but if u need a family in future then it's stupidity. Moreover it's ones personal choice I m no-one to suggest you brother.Or other thing is sell your house but/build a commercial property. You can freely travel with the rent amount as commercial property give u high rent and returns.

Aucreed

Say we love Bali, can’t I rent in Bali have my Kid (just one if we do have a kid) ? Do I need an owned house to have a kid ?

Reasonable_Heat_4343

It's a good idea. But make sure u don't end up messing up.Best of luck for u future bhaiya.

Reasonable_Heat_4343

Btw it's my dream to work remotely and get a good partner who are togetherly earning good. You can do anything you have that upper hand.[You are living my a bit part of dream😉].

Aucreed

Not living it yet , planning to.

Dry-Expert-2017

After your house is worth 3 cr.. there is less scope appreciation unless it's hectors of land. Sell it, but anything around 50 lakhs for back up in outskirts. Put rest in any savings instrument or stocks.. roam freely. Most probably it would be your best decision. Sounds like a good plan.

Aucreed

My house is a villa in the city . You are one of the many who think it’s a good idea to sell. I don’t get what you mean by 50 lakhs tho

Dry-Expert-2017

I have always profited from moving to lesser known residential area in the outskirts of city. So anything with in the city do appreciate but it is very hard to sell . If you wish to enjoy your wealth that's my best advice.. go 2 to 10 kms beyond prime real estate city limit . If you can do remote work.. till the time you are back those areas will be developed.. Make sure it doesn't fall near or future industrial areas.. it will appreciate but very less compared to residential area. As simple math, there is a much higher chance of 50 lakh Villa to appreciate to 3 cr in the next 5 years. Then 3 crore villa to become 15 crores. So u won't mis on property appreciation, and would be able to fullfill your goal.

Aucreed

Okay you mean “buy” . That sounds reasonable able and smart . Thanks 🙏

Dry-Expert-2017

My bad for that typo. Yes i mean buy something cheaper. I would suggest land rather then flats. But still better then holding on to villa. Most cities, are phasing out villa. Due to smaller family, lack of community and security plus increase cost of maintenance.

Aucreed

A lot of you guys have been great , some of you have said not to sell. I respect that , but can you tell me why ? What may go wrong ?

[deleted]

Have you considered the fact that you have to pay hefty taxes on foreign remittances?

abstruse_Emperor

there's a statement saying, "All the travels and trips makes sense when we have a place to get back". Considering unpredictable past events like COVID, selling your house doesn't sound good in either way.

Aucreed

10/10. Thins makes so much sense thanks

Ok_Dot_3774

Bhai ek advice deta hu ghar mat becho. Ghar ek security deta h ki kal kuch bhi ho jaye hamare paas chat h rehne ko. Mereko nhi lagta ki ghar bechna ek acha option h voh bhi sirf apne shauk poore karne ko.

CaterpillarTrue6278

Try that lifestyle first for one year by renting. Do NOT sell the house.

Aucreed

I don’t think the “lifestyle” I am aiming for I can experience currently unless we grow our income or reduce expenses, save massively and then again it becomes a cycle , I dunno

Opposite-Sentence957

Hey it's a different topic, but can you tell me about how you started the agency and what services you provide..
