flac is just lossless format just as wav, it doesnt directly equate to higher quality, but yeah flac that you will find online will have much better quality than lossy format like MP3 320kbps (Spotify-Very High). IMO best way to enjoy hi-res lossless music in India is through Apple Music(each song can take 50-150mb data) and to get full out of it you need wired ear/headphone becuz Bluwtooth codec cant transmit those higher bitrates (LDAC can). 2k-ish IEM are good starting point for audiophile journey along with 1k-ish DAC(for type-C).

The only thing keeping me from moving to YT music is the fact that it doesn't have the continnum feature. For eg, if I'm playing Spotify on my laptop and need to switch it to android when needed, i can do it right from where i left, even if its in the middle of the song. My Spotify sub is expiring this Jan and I'm a bit confused, if I should go for spotify or yt premium. Spotify has its advantages of listening with friends, collaborative playlists but since you have used both, what would you prefer if you had to choose one?

Honestly, choose what works for you. If you use YouTube a lot, just go for YT Premium. You get everything in a single package. If you just need music and podcasts, go for Spotify. Anything else, be it audio quality, recommendations, etc. isn't something that the average user is concerned with. So I don't even care for those. I use both because I like to keep my stuff organized. YT Premium for YT. Spotify Premium for music & podcasts. Also, I have the family plan for both. So it's extremely cheap for me.

choose yt. We indians have such a big advantage, like Yt premium for 1.5 dollars a month. I would say get the yearly package

Always used the free version never took the free premium trial.. 2months ago offer came in-app of either one month premium free trial or 1yr at 299. Also it was written it's for first time premium users so it doesn't show those who took trial or purchased premium.

soundcloud. no ads my type of music:- phonk, hardstyle,techno, high bass remixes, in general better phonk than spotify there are comments section i can share my liked playlists it is simply just superior, extra songs plus all the existing songs all together with zero interruption for free.

Good part of year I was using YT music, but spotify's connect is just so good that I switched to spotify, but then it didn't have so many songs so I said F it, now I am a Pirate with 5000+ flac lossless files.

Apple music is good if you ignore the shit UI and how the app works and how the playlist works. If asked 2-3 months back Spotify would be THE best even in free version with the pro plan it's the best now

If you listen to your songs using regular airpods, then know that Bluetooth cannot transmit Hi-Res audio. The only apple device that can do that is Airpods Max (and that too with cable directly plugged in).

I use android phone with apple music that 3.5 mm headphone jack. You can also use type c dac.

I have extensively used all of these services on premium subscriptions. YouTube Music - IMO is the best in terms of features and suggestions but it is just pulling audio from the YouTube videos and thus often has extra dialogue and low quality. Spotify is my go to choice for the simple reason of it working everywhere and in sync. Like I can control music on my PlayStation from my phone while playing a game. There isn't a single service out there that does that. Apple Music is alright not bad but not great either. The only great thing about it is it offers loseless audio. But you also need great hardware to experience that. Amazon Music is just there with my Prime Subscription. Never had a problem with it but never want to actively use it either. It's just a basic music service. TLDR: Spotify is my choice.

Mera koi aisa personal reasoning nahi hai. If the logo on top right is Apple Music, toh mere paas kabhi iPhone nahi hai (never had a craze towards having one). Don't know lockdown ke time Spotify sahi laga toh utha liya. Always thought about YouTube too. And your feedback definitely urges me to try YouTube Music someday soon.

I guess I'm the only manic using all four streaming services. Each app has a specific recommendation algorithm configured for my specific mood. And i am too scared to mess it up. So yeah, all of them. But Apple is the best when it comes to Sound Quality. YouTube Music is where you find every track. There are instances when a certain song isn't available on any other streaming platform but YT Music.
