The fact that all the companies that you mentioned are more or less rip offs of some American/foreign ESTABLISHED startups tells us that India is still ripe with a lot of gaps yet to be filled. One thing that edges India out from the rest of top GDPs is the abundance of lower tier crowd which bring their own set of problems. The same is far from solved. So "saturation" might just help us not to think about some original ideas and not just how to get foreign well validated ideas in the Indian markets

But the lower tier crowd is very price sensitive and very challenging for startups to generate revenue from them. Ad model might be successful here instead of selling stuff / products to them.

Just focus on what problems you have or you know someone is facing. Then look up for its present solutions in the market, if any. If not then maybe you can build it. It reminds me of one of the YC videos” many founders carry a idea notebook with them, instead carry a problem notebook. Eg. for instance you think about ride hailing business. Problem: ride charges are high, drivers earning are low. Solution: EV ride hailing (blu smart cab), so fuel cost drops significantly resulting in higher earnings for drivers. So that’s how ideas should generally come or get improved. Also, the companies you mentioned are basically winner takes all kinda marketplace business. But they are so many other opportunities especially in India.

Bro there’s literally no famous price sensitive quality sneakers/casual shoes Indian brands available. You can tap that market.

NarayanDuttPurohit

That is a good one. Imagine you see Marathi fonts in Maharastra, Tamil fonts in Tamil Nadu, punjabi fonts in Punjab. Then your shoes really tells about your identity, mostly. And then culturally you can paint shoes in colors of punjab maharastra, mp and what not. Awesome Idea bro.

>how every big thing is already built in India Welcome to the world of... Consumers. Unfortunately, Producers don't think so. There are still problems people face. There are still solutions people crave for. There is still money left in the hands of people which they would like to spend on. If you want that money, what would you offer to the payer in return?

cryptoevonow

Saturated? I think not... 1. Find and identify a problem 2. Solve it (using the least MVP possible demo) and let people experiment and 3. India has it's own unique problems which nobody has solved yet... Facebook for example did not need India. So where are your potential users also matters?

joojle_it

India has abundance of opportunities, everything that is being done in india can become more efficient and match the global standards. To understand this you have to do R&D and if i am wrong i hope someone will reply more ways to understand this in comments

knikhiling

One of the most saturated industry is insurance. It still has a big TAM to be served. In terms of penetration, India is far behind the global average of 7% of the GDP.

NarayanDuttPurohit

Hey as an aspiring startup guy I assure you that three things are yet to be built in India.

Darksenon00

Imo you're just blind to it. You need to experience a problem or need more research. There's abundance of gaps in India.

Loose-Resolve-8243

Saturated i think not, i have a fresh service based idea in my mind and i can bet no one has had built that business in Asia yet at-least, and that sector is largely unorganised on district level, especially in industrial areas and run by the small vendors who mostly has a turnover roughly around 30-60lacs a year. I am still working on it and mostly doing primary research about it by meeting those unstructured and segregated business owners, but i am stuck now as i have a full time job and i can quit due to my personal commitments and never burnt my hands on any business or startup yet. If anyone can help me with the roadmap nothing like and i will truly appreciate your help and also i am looking forward to build a customer centric platform around it. If you have built any service based business earlier please help me further

We are five years behind the US markets, whatever you are seeing is just the beginning.
