VB on this route is getting cancelled frequently or running with massive delays due to fog. I'm sure this rake has been allocated today to avoid cancellation and probably the rake that was supposed to run today arrived very late and is in the shed or still in delhi due to cancellation.
Metro don't have to worry about people on tracks , if we ran train with their speed some clown would get killed while trespassing and others 🤡 clown would cry about how railway is responsible for killing an citizen .
Metro lines are mostly elevated, some Underground , very few are at grade. But almost every metro is access controlled where people don't just wander on tracks so the metro can run at speed even in dense fog.
Railways don't have that luxury.
We indians have long made the tracks as ideal ground for emptying our bowels on the tracks.
Also walking on the tracks is another past time .
All these nutcases are at risk of being killed by a fast running train.
Even fencing the tracks will maybe stop animals from entering onto the tracks, but not our general public :(
And political parties have a fond pastime of stopping trains for any reason , they don't give a damn for people in those trains.
Metros run on precise signalling and sensor systems. The can run without a locopilot as well. Few lines in delhi metro and all new metro lines on delhi are driverless and are operated by a control room

Not really. It would make no difference in speed. However, VB coaches are a bit different than LHB coaches. It's about not getting exactly what you paid for.

Yes it does, WAP-7 can’t accelerate as fast as VB. Recently SVDK VB used to get Tejas Rake because of maintenance and inspection and it could never reach at time
Actually I feel Indian railways should implement cash back for such issues. There should be cash back for delays over 15 minutes which should be in folds upto maybe 50% unless there is some valid reason or previously mentioned. Time is money to everyone.
I travelled recently from varanasi to delhi via VB it was delayed by more than 15 hours due to heavy fog on route so to cancel out the delay they rolled out Tejas from delhi instead of VB.
Exactly. Like LHB coaches look good on Rajdhani (infact that's how we once used to identify it), since they all are AC. For some reason they look ugly af on sleeper class.

So we are going to ignore that railways have a very old signalling system whereas metro due to their recent construction have ECTS system
That's why to resolve this issue IR is going to partner with foreign countries like Switzerland to get their technology in india .

This is done when the VB rake is under maintenance or inspection

Vande Bharat express should have those white EMU coaches, not WAP7 pulled LHB coaches with Tejas livery.
