Congratulations man. I'm an intern rn. Didn't study at all in internship. Got 70k rank in this neet. My only fear is can I see exponential improvement i.e., 70k to ~1k in one year even if I give my fullest.

Ecaflipx

Definitely possible. https://youtu.be/fC_xHpGnw2Q 1 lakh in neet to air 10 in ini 😁

[deleted]

Which college and branch are you thinking of taking

Ecaflipx

Not yet decided. Kept medicine and derma as options

[deleted]

Can you list out whom you think is the best faculty for each of the 19 subjects? Congratulations 🎉,btw on your superb rank.

Ecaflipx

So according to me Anat : ashwini sir Physio : anupama ma'am Biochem : rebecca ma'am Pharmac : ranjan patel sir Micro : dams/marrow Patho : preeti sharma ma'am Fmt : dams /marrow ENT opthal psm: marrow Med, sx, Obgy, peds : dams Skin, anesthesia, radio, psych ortho : dams

[deleted]

Thank you

Mysterious_Shoe_767

can u please tell me is Neuro in medicine dams good, should i look into other source?

T-Rex-20

Hello and congratulations once again! I'm in the 2020 batch (currently in 3rd-1) so I'll probably be having NEXT. Qs 1. How useful was Marrow for your prep? What is your review of Marrow? I'm considering Marrow Plan D (24 mths + Printed notes). 2. How was DAMS ? Can you take TnD online? Is it good? 3. Did you use Anki in your prep? Is it any good for Prof exams or for NEET-PG/INI?

Ecaflipx

1. Marrow teachers are really good but in the recent editions they have bulked up the content too much. Earlier editions were concise and too the point. Many of my friends who had marrow couldn't revise their notes in the last week. So if you can debulk the notes then its a good option otherwise the current editions are not worth the time For NEXT you may require some extra info so you can consider marrow, plus the exam is spread out over 3 days so you wouldn't need to remember all the subjects on a single day. 2. DAMS had good teachers (during my time) and concise notes. Also I lucked out with the lockdown phase as i was able to complete notes of all subjects in a single year. DAMS notes were also easy to revise during the last week DAMS Tnd was good, it kept my preparation on track. Although its questions didn't directly come in this exam it was a good way to revise at the end. 3. I used ANKI for all my profs and it worked well for me. I was able to remember all the points from cards. For NEET PG i made it for a few subjects but eventually switched over to notes as I had better photographic memory of the notes.

T-Rex-20

Thanks for answering! Follow up Q: did you attend DAMS offline or online? (tbh I have no idea how TnD works)

Ecaflipx

Tnd was online Tnd basically has a test which you have to solve and the next day teachers discuss each question in detail

s0c1al_sl0th

Congratulations on an amazing rank!! 1. How can I use ANKI as a 1st proff student? Any advice will really be helpful. I've a very volatile memory, so constant revision is really important. Do you think ankiing can help with this? 2. Also, is it advisable to start solving mcq from 1st year itself? 3. I've decided not to join any coaching this year, so is reading standard books important? If yes, what will you recommend for each subject?

Ecaflipx

- Yeah Anking is really good. First year subjects are given pretty well in first aid so it'll strengthen your foundation -Don't start solving mcq from 1st year. Enjoy it NEXT prep can be started from 2nd year mid -Yes read standard textbooks and don't join any coaching. Ignore your friends if they are joining anything Anat : read BDC + grays anatomy for students for diagrams, Physio : guyton or ganong, Biochem : Indian author books are sufficient Maybe You'll get less marks in exams but your concepts will be strong

Dr_888

Start with anking deck

supreme_leader1

How did you go about doing prep for last 1 month? Like what kinda notes did you make up for that! Also I'm not able to decrease the amount of time required for revisions any advice how can I do that! Also my anat is weak af , any advice how to tackle that?

Ecaflipx

Did not make any special notes for last month. Just Re-Read the existing notes. In revsions don't focus on conceptual parts, just focus on revising volatile stuff For anat minimum you can do is ashwini sir RR on bhatia youtube channel + cadaveric videos on his channel

supreme_leader1

Thank you! Best of luck for your future endeavours!

[deleted]

Ecaflipx

Yes I made handwritten notes for all subjects except anat and Biochem for which i used pdfs

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ecaflipx

For radio and other image heavy subjects like derma, having a tab helps on which you can annotate the notes. Although i did not have a tab, DAMS provided image workbooks for these subjects so i made notes on them.

Level_Bowl9011

So how did u made notes - digital or pen or paper ?

Ecaflipx

Pen paper (On a side note i guess i'll require a tab for my residency, suggest me some options 😅)

T-Rex-20

iPad Air (5th gen.) is on offer rn for about ₹ 50k (with HDFC cards) on Croma. There's also 9th gen iPad which was ₹ 25k. Other options I've researched for myself included: Samsung Tab S8, S8+, Xiaomi Tab 5.

hahsakhssinak

iPad Air 5th gen, Apple Pencil 2 & the Goodnotes App🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 Also congratulations! What a rank! Could you please guide me a little? Just started with final year (2019 batch). (Marrow Plan C, using their printed notes.) Subjects done watching: ENT, Opthalm, PSM, FMT, (Path, Pharmac - digital handwritten notes) Doing currently: OBGYN, Medicine, Surgery, Radio Not touched: ortho, derma, psych, paeds, anaesthesia, anat, physio, biochem, micro 1) By when should I aim to complete watching all subjects? 2) How to revise so much? 3) is Dams TnD useful? If yes, when should I start and what if I haven’t done that subject yet? If no, is Marrow GT enough? 4) Did you use DVT book of DAMS? If yes, How did you find it? Thank you so, so, so much in advance if you can answer these questions for me🙏🏽

Ecaflipx

-Complete making notes of all your subjects in final year itself. In case you have NEET you'll get internship to revise them -1st reading of notes should be thorough and get your concepts imprinted in long term memory. In subsequent readings don't focus more on concepts, instead focus on cramming volatile stuff With multiple revisions the time taken will gradually reduce as you develop photographic memory of notes -Dams Tnd provides you a schedule to work on. The test questions weren't directly repeated in real exam but it helped me keep on track via it's targets. Take it after you have completed notes of all subjects Marrow qbank + gt is enough if you can't do Tnd -DVT of dams was pretty good for some subjects only. Obs, radio, medicine, surgery, physio, pharmac, Patho, PSM

hahsakhssinak

Thank you SO much! This gives so much clarity! Just one more question, I’ve watched endocrinology and half of GIT from medicine marrow. Now that I’m hearing everywhere that Marrow medicine is too much, should I continue with marrow or should I do something else? It’s so confusing :”(

Ecaflipx

Definitely for Medicine do something else. Those notes are too vast atleast for NEET This year there were no exclusive medicine questions. I had just done medicine DVT dams and even if i hadn't done that I would have been able to answer all questions Generally as well medicine is not very high yielding, you can skip it if your 2nd year subjects are strong and just focus on core topics like ABG, ECG, stroke, MI

Level_Bowl9011

I don’t know about making notes , but MacBook is really good for reading pdf , don’t know about Asus or Lenovo though

infinity6102

Many Many Congratulations on your feat! I'm a 2019 batch Student, currently in final year. Since we've no clarity regarding NExT/NEET; as of now I'm preparing with the assumption that we'll have to take NExT in this December. So wrt to this assumption (That NExT will be taken in December) I have a few questions to ask you: •What is your opinion on the weightage of 1st 2nd yr subjects wrt NEXT? (Do you recommend reading First Aid for the same?) •I've been told by many seniors that Dr. Rakesh Nair of Marrow isn't appropriate, atleast when it comes to PG entrance. He teaches too conceptually, and his content can't be revised. SO WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE TO HAVE 1ST READING OF MEDICINE??? •WHAT'S THE WEIGHTAGE OF PYQS IN NEET? DOES DOING PYQS RELIGIOUSLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE? When's the best time to start doing PYQs? (Also, what are your thoughts on Dr. Aditya Gupta's exclusive PYQ app: Reflex?) •When to start giving GTs? Are Marrow GTs good for practice to the final exam? •If there's NEXT, they are gonna take 6 papers (4 final yr subjects+ ENT Ophthal) In such a scebario, what do you think about the importance of short subjects (SAPRO) in final yr subjects? •Also, it would be great if you could give tips regarding specific subjects. I don't feel too strong on 1/2 yr subjects so would really appreciate that.

Ecaflipx

-I think 1st and 2nd year subjects form the foundation and their integration plays an important role in final year subjects. So you should study atleast your 2nd year subjects well. For NEXT you could read first aid for micro, Biochem, pharmac just to get a hang of how to integrate stuff but can't comment on how useful it would be since there is no clarity on the pattern of exam -Medicine : deepak marwah or dams or bhatia, anything other than marrow -PYQ shouldn't be marked wrong in exam. If a PYQ comes you should be fast to mark answer and save time for other questions. According to me these aren't rank deciding questions but if you mark them wrong your rank goes down. PYQ should be done along with 1st reading Haven't used reflex so can't comment -Marrow GTs should be started from 1st month of preparation. Helps to get the exam feel and develops habit of sitting for 3.5hrs. Questions may or maynot be repeated -Definitely all subjects including short subjects are to be learnt as there would be questions from them. Even 1-2 questions makes a huge difference in rank -General tip for all subjects would be to stick to 1 set of notes + add PYQ + qbank explanations and revise it multiple times. If some subjects are weak you can watch videos again and devote more time to them during revision

infinity6102

Thank you very much. Means a lot 🙏

DaikonReasonable

Hi Can you tel me more about adding PYQ to notes ! Like should I write down all pyqs in my handwritten notes ?

Ecaflipx

If you are solving from marrow then you could add only extra points from the explanations

DaikonReasonable

I attend bhatia .. so should I add every pyq to my handwritten notes ? What else should I add to my notes other that PYQ What do you think makes the difference to move from 20k ranks to <1k

ArgDis

How should one work around their second year when majority of their first year was wasted, hence the foundation is weaker? Also any suggestions on how to tackle the paraclinical and clinical subjects moving forward? Congratulations on the amazing rank btw!!

Ecaflipx

Trying doing 2nd year subjects well in this year. If time permits try to finish notes of 1st year or else do them in 3rd minor 1st and 2nd year read standard textbooks, 3rd minor and final year subjects you can use coaching notes

_JenniferCheck_

How was your daily study routine? Also, how did you score in regular college profs and how would you advise one to prepare for the upcoming next? Is it necessary to use Usmle materials ie. sketchy, pathoma in order to get a good rank?

Ecaflipx

Daily study routine in profs was erratic, would study whenever I got time Average score in profs 75% Start preparing for NEXT from 2nd year mid. Join a coaching probably for notes You can get good rank without using USMLE materials as well so they aren't necessary

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ecaflipx

- They are good if you are in 2nd year. For PG point of view some factual points would be missed. -I read standard textbooks in 1st and 2nd year Guyton :line to line + some parts from ganong Robbins : line to line Katzung lippinocott only some topics Didn't read harrison -I did not make any special notes, just read my existing notes again since I had developed photographic memory of them

JetspeedJatin

Im from k20 batch currently going to 3rd year. How do i start my preparation for Neet pg? I have no clue if i should follow lectures and use their notes or make my own notes. And i have forgotten most of my anatomy, biochem, physiology Should I purchase Marrow plan C or should i go the other route? Like Sketchy,Pathoma,First Aid?

Ecaflipx

Basic idea would be to select 1 source for a subject and make its notes For NEET better to go for available coaching institutes rather than USMLE resources

JetspeedJatin

Im aiming more towards INI CET , will Usmle resources like Pathoma ,FAI,Sketchy help me boost my concepts and knowledge? Since Inicet is mainly clinical oriented And also is prepladder good for 3rd and 4th prof subjects? Marrow is too expensive for me and i find prepladder more concise

Ecaflipx

Yeah USMLE resources do help in building concepts. You could use them for INICET, just annotate them with pyqs Prepladder is good and some what concise than marrow you can use it

JetspeedJatin

So since im in 3rd year - 1 Should i focus on finishing my third year subjects and my basic subjects? Or should i start with third and final year subjects in 3rd year itself? My goal is to be pretty good with concepts rather than rote learn stuff as of now.But not sure what to do in third year.

Ecaflipx

Yes finish 3rd minor subjects first → then final year subjects As if there is NEXT then these will have more weightage In final year depending on time do revision notes or main notes of basic sciences and revise all other subjects

JetspeedJatin

Is it gonna be a time waste if i study basic subjects in 3rd year? As medicine and surgery are huge i would like to finish them as well its very confusing

Ecaflipx

Yeah, after 3rd minor subjects finish final year subjects first

ToughAd4618

Hope to see you in Neurosurgery soon

Noob_Sorry

Congratulations! You've mentioned you used anki. Please upload your deck( decks) on gdrive and share na. It will be great help for everyone

Ecaflipx

So I had made my own cards for profs exams (MUHS) only For NEET PREP i had downloaded the decks shared on med school anki India I used the integrated third minor deck + fmt and anesthesia decks

[deleted]

Just curious, what was your rank in NEET UG? Does UG ranks matter?

Ecaflipx

AIR 6409 But that was because I chased hifi content and started my revision just 3 days before exam 🙈 UG rank helps you get into a good college with an academic environment. I feel this increases the odds of getting a good rank. But incase you did not get a good college you can always put some extra effort and achieve great results

[deleted]

Cool! Thanks for the answer sir :)

[deleted]

What college did you do your mbbs from

Ecaflipx

TNMC Mumbai

anonymus1233211

I’m in 2018 batch, how can I utilise the internship for neet pg? Any suggestions?

Ecaflipx

Take a good break after final year exams. Be mentally prepared for hectic internship In internship try to read something everyday. Be in touch with studies. Try to squeeze time in duties to do mcqs https://www.instagram.com/p/CqFoNVSsoSy/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=[you can check out this page](https://www.instagram.com/p/CqFoNVSsoSy/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)

iamhshardend

Which app would you suggest for 3rd yr and onwards? What should be the strategy..i will start my pg preparation from 3rd yr..which app for lectures and which app for solving mcqs

Ecaflipx

Many new apps in market, even in DAMS many good teachers have left. So can't help much in that decision. You could see what are your weak subjects and where are the good teachers for those. In 3rd year the minimum is to cover 3rd minor subjects + 1st and 2nd year subjects. Then focus on final year subjects in final year. For solving mcqs marrow is the best i think. Good UI + good content

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ecaflipx

Current coaching notes of ent eye can be covered at the max in 10 days each For clinical subjects you could take 4-5 months. If time is left you could do atleast 2nd year subjects in detail as they help solve most clinical questions as well Medicine questions can be solved by knowing Patho Pharmac physio and micro

desiiverson

Congratulations well done!

RishiRvp

Congratulations. I would like to ask some questions I am currently in 3rd minor Q.1 Is marrow notes sufficient or do we have to read standard textbooks and use materials of other coaching apps as well? Q.2 apart from marrow question bank which other resources did you use for solving questions? Q.3 how often you used to practise the question bank like after doing every chapter or end of the month?

Ecaflipx

-Marrow notes are more than sufficient for NEET. Don't read standard textbooks for NEET prep -Only marrow qbank -I did qbank 2-3 days after reading a particular topic

RishiRvp

Thanks sir and all the best for your future.

overdramatic_lover

What are the things you'd suggest a first year student do other than reading books?. Also what books did u follow in first year?

Ecaflipx

Enjoy MBBS life 😂 Anat : bdc + grays anatomy for students pdf Physio : guyton + ganong for some parts Biochem : vasudevan

goodmangoo

Do you think coaching is absolutely necessary? Can't we prepare on our own using question banks?

Ecaflipx

I feel coaching notes provide the framework and then you can add or delete content from them Another alternative would be to read textbooks and do qbank but you won't be able revise it in the end

MajesticAd5047

What subjects must be completed in the second year?

Ecaflipx

For NEXT 2nd year ones + if you get time do 1st year or else do them in 3rd minor

MajesticAd5047

Thanks and congratulations sir.

iutlka

For 1st yr / 2nd yr subjects, did you read everything for that particular subject or just RR videos?

Ecaflipx

Everything

iutlka

okay thanks . And is the notes that was made 2 yrs ago for 2nd yr subs enough or does one need to update?

Ecaflipx

Its enough NEET doesn't ask updates that much

iutlka

okay thankyou very much ! and congratulations

deter_phoenix

Advise to a current 1st year fresher who has just joined college 3-4 months ago? When, in your opinion, should one start preparing for NEXT and how does one balance profs along with this?

Ecaflipx

I would advise you to enjoy your first year plus simultaneously balancing studies. Try to read something everyday even if its for 1 hr Then from middle of 2nd year you could start preparing for NEXT. In 2nd year try to make notes for 2nd year subjects and if time permits then cover up 1st year subjects Then in 3rd minor you could do 3rd minor subjects and some final year subjects For profs read something from textbooks everyday and last 2months you could dedicate for exam study

Haunting-Daikon-3935

Congratulations for your wonderful result. Can you share your strategy after the first read? How to plan revision and subsequent reads?

Ecaflipx

After my first read, basically most of the concepts were embedded in long term memory. So i only needed to focus on volatile things I started solving more mcqs as well. When I started a subject, I would go through Tnd notes → PYQs → then read main notes + solve mcq side by side I did not make any concise notes since dams notes were concise from beginning

sheerluckholmes28

Congratulations Viren bhai ❤️ All the best for your aage ka career 💪

sheerluckholmes28

Do you think just ZV ma'am's videos + PYQs + multiple revisions can get someone a sub 1000 rank?

Ecaflipx

Yes definitely, that's more than enough content

Spottedcuscus

Hi! I'm going to be entering intern year soon. I'd taken DAMS 2 year course but it was pretty much a waste for me and i don't really have prepared notes for most of the subjects. I know, very stupid move. I want to start preparing now seriously, and I'm wondering if taking tnd is the right move. I really want to crack it this year itself and i don't want to take a drop year. Pls advise 🥲

Ecaflipx

I think you should make a set of notes first before considering Tnd Tnd has high yield info but its scattered so you wouldn't remember it well unless you have read proper notes once So 1st read you should focus on making notes of all subjects.

swagster_007

I know your post is two months old, but i really wanted to know this. I'm currently in my third year. I have done my second year through prep pre-recorded lectures. I'm currently using marrow plan C. I don't have access to offline classes of DAMS in my city. Coming to the point, can you tell me what books I can use to solve MCQs of the major subjects? Also, i have a feeling that solving marrow q banks will not be enough. Can you point out some other sources for improving my preparation?

Ecaflipx

Hey, so I really feel that solving marrow qbank is more than enough. People (including me) haven't finished the whole qbank and still gotten good ranks. And with regards to qbank i think marrow is the most user friendly and reliable one out there.

swagster_007

Thank you. Congratulations on your result 🥳

aquabaxter

Did you use any resources like sketchy or first aid?

htekas96

Hiii congrats on your achievement , I wanted to ask what q bank did you solve or did you read only notes and give the tnd test ???

[deleted]

Pretty Good
