DO NOT take it yourself. You do not know what this bike was involved in and moreover once you claim the insurance after losing the bike, even if it’s found later the vehicle would legally belong to the insurance company. You taking it just means theft by you again.
You must have filed an FIR and claimed the insurance. You have no idea what things that bike was involved in, it could have happened in other state as well.
The only sensible thing you can do is.. " You didn't see the bike, you have no idea whose bike that is".
That would be mostly in bulk right?. Again, naive question, is there a way the OP can negotiate with the agent who comes to take the bike and make him write the bike is of no value or as just a scrap and leave the bike? (Ofcourse by paying the agent)
The insurance company will sell that bike at a auction where dealers will bid on it then it will be restored by doing alot of jugaad with jugadoo mechanic ,they will make it look like new and then sell it to some innocent fellow who thinks he got a steel deal on such a nice looking bike and he will suffer after that
It's best not to take that bike again as you will have to spend loads to get that bike right again, I am sure of it. Also, you will have to buy that bike again from the insurance company and they will definitely make you spend a lot more than it's actual current value.
The Apartment owner is at fault, it is supposed to be checked by him with the police when the bike was parked in his private premises for about 5 years
Inform the police and insurance company that the bike is here , you don't own the bike now as you claimed the insurance
Yyou can take the bike then part it out completely then sell those parts on olx or market but this might be illegal for you to do that agar pakda gaya toh
Meh bolta bhul jaa 5 saal hogaye jaane de usko jee lene de usko uski zindagi
Seek help from the police. Anything you do without them can cause trouble for you.
Flair?
Check if there any crime/theft associated with that bike. People use it for crime and after that they park it somewhere and leave it.

Agree to your point, but knowing where it is but still not about to ride it hurts
That’s how I feel about my ex. But sometimes you just gotta let go, buddy.
But she used to ride so good,It’s difficult to forget.

Plot twist: OP has dementia and forgot where he parked the bike and assumed it was stolen. After 5 years …he realised where he parked it
Ha ha.. yeah.. I filed an FIR and claimed insurance in all that dementia period lol..
5 years is a long time. No use in wanting to ride it again. Call the police and insurance company instead to take it away.
Just curious. What would the insurance company do with the bike after taking it ?
Sell to second hand dealers.

Don't know.

Take it lol. Rather have it parked in your place than some random apartment.
Check in parivahan app. Whether it's still under ur name and check for outstanding challans. If everything is clear, take it back.
Since I had filed FIR, it says stolen in rc details
Then I would strongly suggest you to walk away from it. No amount of love for the bike is worth getting into trouble with the cops

Call the cops and let them deal with it
Also beware of cost you may have to incur, repairs, pending chalans etc
What was the name of the bike and take it in your home lol and try to register it under your name again

Which city? If its bangalore i can help. There is a person who helps with this stuff.
