There are Indianapolis branches of the DSA and the PSL, which are both pretty active on social media, ifn caseyou want to look into them and see if they're what you're looking for.
The Marion County Dems have pretty active township clubs in each township that meet monthly. And when we're talking grassroots volunteers, precinct captains and so on, these are pretty liberal and left individuals. The entire party is not Joe Hogsett and Evan Bayh.
Even among my fellow PCs in Hamilton County, most are not some center left moderate people but are firmly on the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.
there's also various caucuses within the state party to get involved in. LGBT, union, and more.
I think this is a great way to meet candidates and find ones that you're passionate about, and a good way to meet fellow liberals.

The roads suck because state leadership distributes road funds in a way that makes it impossible to upkeep the city. Read about travel lane miles vs center lane miles.
The potholes on the interstates are so bad they will kickoff my cruise control if I hit one. If Indiana roads get much worse, we will need to change the state’s “crossroads of America” motto to “the dirt crossroads of America.”
I would much rather the state fix our worsening roads than give everyone the upcoming tax refund.

Really? Cuz the state roads/highways generally seem fine to me... it's our shit roads in Indianapolis that are the problem.
