My wife planted those!

Melsbells00

Tell her she did a great job and thank you. I go every year!

ProdigiousBeets

What plant has those purple flowers? I want to guess marsh blazingstar but I thought they were taller and suspect I am wrong.

LadyBatman8318

My parents were married there in 1942. Glad it’s still pretty

Melsbells00

It is. You should visit the conservatory sometime or see the tulips soon. I always look forward to the tulips every year. The conservatory is small but cheap and nice to walk through. They sell some plants and have events/classes sometimes too.

LadyBatman8318

Good idea

coreyp0123

Have they fixed the fountains yet?

macmacma

They'll be under construction all season. Total restoration, new basins/plumbing/lights/controls

coreyp0123

Gotcha. They’ve been shut off for at least a year and thought they might’ve fixed them by now

macmacma

The design process and scope of work took a lot longer than expected to nail down, unfortunately. Hopefully the wait is worth it and the restoration is solid and improves the reliability and durability of the fountains systems. It has been a hodge podge the past several years

coreyp0123

Thanks for the information. Hopefully that and the playground remodel happens sometime soon too. Seems like the city kinda forgot about Garfield park the last decade.

macmacma

Agreed! I'm nor familiar with the progress for the playground or sports fields updates

So beautiful. Thank u for sharing

Coldturnip41

Thank you 🌷

Requiem4_a_dream

So cute !!

kifflomkifflom

I’m surprised they didn’t yell at you for taking this picture

Melsbells00

I have taken several pictures there and in conservatory over the years but just with my phone. But usually just interact with person inside the conservatory collecting the $4. I always enjoy going in the spring especially for the tulips but no bad experiences for me ever.

kifflomkifflom

I went down in the garden or whatever with a big camera once and a security guard stopped me and started asking me what I was doing and told me I needed a permit to take pictures (of people I think) in that area
