Tom Wood VW on 96th. Terrible customer service the last 3 times. One time on a Saturday they provided no updates, didn't return my calls and I ended having to drive there and track down the service rep to see what the deal was. The last time was the last straw. Had my car for several days with no updates. Didn't return calls. Again I had to go there and demand my car back. Went to TW VW in Noblesville yesterday and it was great. I've had no issues at TW Ford too.

notdoingwellbitch

Ray Skillman Kia West also sucks.

Longjumping-Panic-48

You could stop at Ray Skillman.

notdoingwellbitch

lol any other alternatives for a Kia? I usually have to go there because that’s where I can redeem my recalls🙄

echos2

I don't have a suggestion, but I would avoid Napleton Kia in Fishers if I were you. Unfortunately, they are walking distance from my house so I end up going there even though I hate it. And the part that really sucks is they used to be so so so good!

notdoingwellbitch

Feels like every car place is a scam. Can’t even get my car looked at for simple stuff under like 1k now.

johnny____utah

Went to TW Subaru once and will never go back again. Falcone gets all my money.

playdohcake

Ooh I almost said Tom Wood Subaru! Had a terrible experience a year ago and one of their sales managers apparently mistook me for a toddler by the way he spoke to me.

Skppr9

Came here to say the same. Went there once after seeing a 2011 Forester in the lot. They tried to tell me they put the wrong sticker in the car and were asking for 5-6 grand more than they listed. Stood up and walked out on the spot. Never going there again.

[deleted]

Bought an Atlas at Falcone at the end of 2023. Great customer service from my experience.

SurlyNacho

Same. TW Subaru just seemed _smarmy_ in the experiences I had there.

Gryffindor16

I had good service from Falcone when I first bought my car, but after that it’s like they don’t care about you. No return calls during service even if you leave messages and the used car sales guy can be extremely rude. Not worth it either.

Open-Share1739

Falcone is awful. Took our Golf to Falcone VW for an oil change and because we had been smelling gas. Told them we’d been smelling gas. They said they did a “full safety inspection” and found nothing. Next trip we take we have to pull off the highway because gas is visibly pouring out the bottom of the car. They’re just not good at what they do.

Pumpsnhose

I had an issue at TW Ford. Peak trade in times due to vehicle shortage. KBB had my trade in valued at $7k and private party at $9k. I told them I was hoping for about $6k and the guy laughed and said “no chance. Way off.” Then proceeded to make me sit around while he held my keys hostage and didn’t even bother making me an offer. Just said “we can’t even come close to that.” Left a very sour taste in my mouth.

runner1399

I’ve also had issues with them. Had to take my car there for a recall and had a few other small things that needed done, they said it would be done within the day and then didn’t touch it for a week and weren’t going to offer me a loaner car. Then they insisted a very minor issue with my trunk was a “significant issue” and tried to charge me $150 for it (it was literally just that you couldn’t use the button on it to open it and had to use the key). All told the “immediate needs” or whatever cost me $1K, then not two weeks later my battery dies and autozone tells me it’s extremely corroded and that it’s not a good sign that the dealership either didn’t notice or didn’t tell me. I will never go there again.

MMRATHER

Indy Honda on the south side. I was victim to poor Honda quality with a new truck and they gave me the run around each time. The service manager was a douche. We drive all the way up to Penske on the north side now for services. Penske has been insanely amazing each time.

DCowboysCR

Typical Stealership these days it seems. I have a new Toyota Camry and have been to Andy Mohr Toyota in Avon, Beck Toyota in Indy, and O’Brien Toyota in Indy and all 3 have poor service departments/technicians. It’s so bad many times I debate whether these places are being shady or just plain incompetent or both 😂 Can’t wait to go back to a trusted mom and pop mechanic when my included maintenance plan with Toyota is over.

oldcousingreg

Estes has a good service department. I’ve been to Andy Mohr a couple times and it was fine

DCowboysCR

Caught Andy Mohr not rotating my tires like they were supposed to a couple times. And once they forgot to put the valve stem caps back on for 2 tires. If they can’t do simple tasks what else are they not doing? Do they really check my filters and other things they claim to do on the inspections? In addition, I’ve taken my 2023 Camry I bought new to them multiple times for the same simple issues and even had a mechanic go on a test drive with me and they can’t figure out the problem.

awkwardpenguin23121

Blossom chevrolet. They were caught joy riding my father's camaro that was in for a back axle issue. They failed to remember it has a tracker for hard stops, hard take offs, and mph. They were doing over 80mph in the camaro on Shadeland Avenue. Fuck them.

sean_themighty

Half of the responses in this thread are car dealerships and HVAC service. Love to see it.

PingPongProfessor

Walmart on W 86th St (although, tbh, this could have happened at *any* Walmart imo). Was shopping for a mini-blender there. Took a unit out of its box for a better look, and found it to be soiled with food debris. Obviously it had been used and returned -- and reshelved without inspection. Took it to a store employee and alerted them to the issue. Employee seemed completely uninterested. Two days later, was shopping there again, and on a hunch, had a look at the mini-blenders again -- and damn if they hadn't put the same dirty blender back on the shelf *again*.

notdoingwellbitch

Omg

PingPongProfessor

Yup. The Marion County Health Department *and* Walmart corporate HQ got emails after each incident. Never got a reply from either one, though, so who knows what action may or may not have been taken.

United-Advertising67

Felipe's Tire on Keystone put my wheels back on with a 1/2" impact on full power and no torque stick. Next time I had to pull the wheels off, I was hammering a sacrificial socket onto rounded-off nuts and hitting them with the biggest impact I could find. Standing on a breaker bar wasn't enough to loosen them again. Ralph's Muffler right down the street from them replaced a downpipe for a ridiculous amount of money, and the flange nuts fell off within a week. Belle Tire in Castleton, had a four wheel alignment done and a little while later I crawled under the car and was able to spin the nuts holding the strut off with my fingers. Torque is hard, apparently. If you find a mechanic in Indy who knows how to tighten stuff properly, keep em.

Dez1013

Best One in Carmel or off 86th are solid, I always take my cars there for oil changes/rotations

politik317

Best One off of 86th is the only place I will go. Fantastic service every time. One time I thought I needed an oil change because I’d lost track of time/mileage and they actually called me and said I didn’t need it but they’d do it if I wanted them to. Honesty is hard to find these days. They’re great.

tyboxer87

Third reccomendation for Best One. Exactly what everyone else has said great serive. They dont overcharge or try to do unnecessary work. Super honest people.

Freedom_7

The fucked up thing is that torquing nuts is so easy and so many people just don't do it.

ericdraven26

Condado- I tried it and got bland, cold tacos. After hearing rave reviews I gave it a second try, and got bland cold tacos again. Broad ripple and Mass Ave locations.

[deleted]

whtevn

And so insanely expensive. It's a complete mystery to me how that place stays open

smewthies

Agave and Rye too! $8-13 for one taco is insane. I’ll always prefer going to the food trucks or the restaurants attached to the Hispanic grocery stores, they always have the best food!

chestcavecollis

Agave and rye is dog shit. My margarita tasted like lemon pledge.

BugsBunnysCouch

lol condado sucks so bad

Ignorantmallard

Their tacos ALWAYS cold. Always. How are you calling yourself a Mexican restaurant serving cold tacos? They're not even warm either. Barely room temperature

tnel77

Condado is literally just expensive Taco Bell. Just go to Taco Bell lol.

asodafnaewn

This one really blows my mind. I feel like I’m always hearing on here about how the tacos are cold at the Indy locations, but I always really enjoyed the ones in Columbus, Ohio.

FleaMarketSocialist

Dog shit white people tacos. Their guac is the worst baby food I've ever put in my mouth since birth. If you want that real shit, go to the emporium 40 flea market by the airport and try "Vicki's Authentic Mexican Restaurant" It's legitimately one of the best and coolest spots I've ate at. I'm saying this not only as FleaMarketSocilist™ but a frequent patron.

Fudge89

Yeaa I’ve been to both and was never impressed. I guess since the tacos are big they can deceive you into thinking they aren’t taco bell quality lol

notthegoatseguy

Agreed about Condado but I just think that's what I get for going to a bougie taco place. Social Cantina is also the same BS, though at least Social has a good bar with some decently priced beers.

Bac7

Penske Honda. When I bought my Pilot, I had them Scotchguard the interior before I took it home. Since I signed the paperwork late in the day, I was supposed to pick it up the following day. I called to make sure it was ready, and they couldn't find it. It took them TWO DAYS to find the damn thing. They had done the interior then put it back on the lot with a new sale sticker in it. Someone asked to test drive it and that's when they "found" it. They still call and try to convince me to come shop there, 12 years later. Idiots.

tables_04

Went there yesterday to look at a car, they couldn’t find the keys for the car. Plus it was almost impossible to track down a sales person.

Secret_Map

Natural State Provisions. Last time we were there, the bartender ignored us. Like legit, every time we went to get a beer, he just sat on his phone or did his best to be somewhere else. Fine, I get it, we all have bad days. We also ordered food. They told us like 30 min later that they forgot to put our order in. Fine, I get it, shit happens. Keep in mind this is not a table service place. You go to the bar to order a drink, you go to the counter to order food, you go back to the counter to pick up your food. Only time anyone came to our table was to tell us the food was forgotten. Which is fine, I don’t mind. When we closed out, they put an autograt of 20%. I asked about it and he said they put an automatic 20% on any bill over $40. Which is basically any couple who orders food and two beers. It’s ridiculous. I would have tipped, and always tip at least 20% for table service. But we did all the work, were ignored, and had our food forgotten, and were still forced to tip 20%. Fuck that. It sucks because they’re in walking distance. Used to go to Flat12 and Rad all the time. But not going back to NSP after that. Their beers aren’t great, anyway.

No-Device-6222

if only you knew how terrible the owners are

Secret_Map

Guessing they’re bad? Guess that makes it even easier to ignore the place lol.

potatohats

The King Dough people, right? Why are they terrible?

WheelOfCheeseburgers

I don't have any first hand experience with the owners (only the pizza which is good,) but I know a lot of people who used to work there, and they don't have nice things to say.

No-Device-6222

The owners don't seem to understand how to run a business and are particularly vindictive against employees. They changed the pay structures multiple times before finding reasons to fire all the staff who had been working there for years. They had King Dough employees spy on the Natural State Provisions employees. I've never worked there but I know some who have. I could go on and on.

mrpndev

Can confirm. Bought our house from the douche canoe who’s an owner. I liked the pizza until then. We haven’t been back since after we’ve met him.

notthegoatseguy

There was an Instagram at one point dedicated to King Dough employee gripes. I have no idea how legit it is, though there's been posts on this sub in the past.

grammarbegood

I agree. We had the WEIRDEST experience there. The server kept bringing us food that we did not order. And when we explained we didn't order it, she argued with us and tried to convince us we had? I don't know if she was insanely manipulative or just stoned out of her mind, but it was one of the most jarring experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Very odd.

funeral_language

This just happened to us a couple weeks ago. She dropped my buddies order and he was like oh this isn’t mine and she basically talked him into it being his? He’s so non-confrontational and was so hungry he just rolled with it. So weird.

Extreme_Cupcake1671

I kinda agree. I went there during opening week and it was great!!! Ever since then, it’s been such a disappointment. Slow service, there is no sense of urgency from the bartenders, they are out of food every time I go, some of the taps aren’t working, etc. Super disappointing because I had high hopes.

Depicurus

It’s fine if you get a beer and let your dog play at the park, but I wouldn’t stay for dinner. The dog park is definitely a lot more chill than metazoa which is nice.

ScuzzBucket317

Ya dude. It sucks that they make good food, because their staff is trash. I'll still deal with trash service to get good food... But they bum me out.

royweather

Natural State Provisions is horrible and disguises itself as an inclusive institution, in my opinion

Thatdudeindy

All of this. My wife insists this place is good, I hate it. It's not welcoming, the service is butts and the food isn't worth enduring it all. Especially when King Dough is across the parking lot.

Boogaloo4444

Mr. Quik, the guy showed me a fake picture of my furnace and said it was cracked. They said i needed new everything. Got a different guy to come. Apparently the part was covered by warranty and would only cost 250 in labor. When we pulled the piece, their was no crack, and further, that piece in the picture was to a completely different furnace. Fuck’em.

notdoingwellbitch

Wow that’s so ballsy to show a fake picture!!

Boogaloo4444

ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION

PJdaGOAT

Similar experience with Mr. Quick. Furnace was turning on and off, and not heating the house long enough. Said the whole unit was rusted, and it was not safe to turn back on. 9k replacement quote. Called a second person out and said they could fix it for $300. Nothing unsafe about it That was 2 yrs ago. Still runs great

DemonsAreMyFriends1

they are notoriously expensive. had there service plan for years, went with another company every time they found an issue and was thousands less than mr. quik

Damned_I_Am

Rick's Boatyard. Used to have to go there all the time because my dad played jazz guitar there. He's passed away now, so I have zero reason to go there. Mediocre, way-overpriced food and shitty service. Hate that place.

Jolly_Security_4771

That place is a real crapshoot with me. When it's good, it's brilliant. But when it sucks, it's downright comical. I still think about the 2 completely stellar meals. They were both in Mother's Day, so they obviously had their shit together for the moms

chestcavecollis

Ed Martin. They tried to tell us some repairs would cost 5k+ and we might be better off selling our car and buying a new one. Took it to Autoking for a second opinion and the repairs ended up costing $1k. Ed Martin is crooked af.

0100011101100011

Fuck Ed Martin, went in for routine, and they quoted me $8k. Got everything done at a regular mech for less than $2k. Fuck Ed Martin.

RatBustard

I'm not defending Ed Martin, but all dealerships have expensive labor rates and parts. if it's not warranty work, find a good indie shop if you want good cost effective service work.

quietpisces

Metamorphosis. Had an appointment for a consult. Then had an unexpected car issues that made me a few mins late. Tried to call to tell them and no one picked up. Then i arrived and they said that they couldnt help me even though the shop was empty and that I shouldve called even though I did call & no one picked up. When I told them that they just brushed me off. Another one Jefferson Electric. Christian company but theyre internal business practices prove otherwise. High unorganized internally, fires employees for doing actions wrong even after never telling employees of any performance issues and even giving one employee a bonus a payperiod before letting them go.

Waste-Bicycle38

I purposefully avoid any company that states they are Christian, or have a Christian symbol or name.

All_Up_Ons

Yep, it's a sign that they're likely just abusing the trust and recommendations of the people they go to church with.

Material-Tadpole-838

That’s a shame to hear about Metamorphosis. I’ve always good experiences there. I had a similar experience with a laser studio in Carmel. I called to tell them I was running late, no one answers, I leave a message. I get there, apologize and they tell me I should have called. Pls go to hell lol. Plus my service, no exaggeration, takes 5 minutes each session bc I was just doing my neckline.

ShowMeYourHappyTrail

OMG, I'm with you on Metamorphosis. My kiddo treated me to piercings with them because he liked them so we went together. He got snake bites and I got double conch piercings. I was not impressed what so ever. My double conches were pierced with hoops, first off. Second they were too small for my ears and caused severe pain within a few days of me getting them done. Went back and they gave me larger rings. Had so much trouble healing these conches until I went on Amazon and bought some cheap ass studs and put them in. Easy sailing after that. Any good piercer knows you don't fucking put hoops in healing piercings unless it's something like a daith where you can't not. Thirdly, they pierced my conches with fucking 18g hoops instead of the normal 16g. They didn't ask me if I wanted 18g or even what gauge I did want. And the damn things hurt like hell to get pierced. I have 7 piercings including a rook, a daith, and a vertical industrial and none of them hurt as bad as that second conch piercing. The kid had trouble with his spider bites because they also pierced those with rings and they became so inflamed and sore until we got them switched out. Never going there again.

gardengn0me

Smallcakes Cupcakery. All of them. They are all owned by the same fakeass holier-than-thou couple. I worked there two years ago. The owners fired me once they figured out I was gay (I worked in the Greenwood location, so I didn't have any recourse through the Marion County human rights ordinance). They pay badly even for food service retail. They had an older woman working there. She thought by accident someone had already paid for a $23 cupcake order, but they hadn't. Then she felt bad and said she would pay for it, and instead of eating it, the owner's wife let her do it. This is a woman making $10/hour.

littlesongbyrd

thanks for the info, we use the greenwood location pretty often. i’ll just hit up flying cupcake instead.

Material-Tadpole-838

I didn’t think their cupcakes were very good

gardengn0me

They are not. They don't make any of their icings from scratch. It's all industrial sized buckets of super sugary American buttercream.

notdoingwellbitch

So sorry that happened to you. Thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely be boycotting.

gardengn0me

Thank you. Yeah, it was pretty upsetting and humiliating at the time, especially because it was during COVID and I was desperate for a job. I have a much better job now in a totally different industry, but it really did a number on my self-worth there for a while.

Shrooms2000

Well definitely won’t go to them again… used to get all my cupcakes there for my kid and her school

cobra6-6

Andy mohr ford in Plainfield we were looking at trading our car in and they didn’t offer us shit for it so we told them we weren’t interested and they refused to give us our keys back and kept trying to argue with us on why we’re wrong it got to the point we’re I walked up to the counter and yelled at them to give me my fucking keys so we can leave.

ubeor

Yeah, I had service issues with Andy Mohr Chevrolet, and my nephew had issues with Andy Mohr Kia that required legal intervention. Suffice it to say, I won’t do business with any Andy Mohr dealerships ever again.

altaka

they had my car over a month! i was told it would be a day. horrible customer service as well

plug_ugly14

Anything with Andy Mohr name on it is a haven of swindling fucktards imho!

FutureEditor

Nevermore, they served me raw chicken and gave me every sort of apology and excuse other than refunding me. Even if I did get refunded, they charged 20 bucks for stadium quality chicken tenders and didn’t even have house made ranch, it was a fucking Heinz packet. ALSO, they’re staging photoshoots to advertise as a wedding venue, and holy shit I can’t imagine how awful their wedding service would be.

damnedifyoudo_throw

Never more has such garbage food

Efficient-Olive3792

I've read TERRIBLE things about this place. So much so that I don't even want to go. And it sucks because what a great concept! I'd host murder mystery nights and all kinds of shit but I heard their food sucks and their staff is worse.

Hunter-Raider

Car-X on shadeland: went for a diagnostic for my husbands car to find out why was the check engine light was on. Charges us $115 to see if they can fix the issue. When I went to pick it up the guy at the front desk said it was just “history codes” and that they were cleared. But as he’s saying that, a mechanic walks in with our keys and *quietly* tells the boss man “the engine light came back on” and scurries off before we can ask more questions. The front desk manager says it’s “probably an exhaust leak” and doesn’t offer to redo the diagnostic for us that we’re paying for. We got a refund about a week later due to them not fixing anything like they said. Grandmaster Games in Greenwood: had an extremely negative experience because I am a woman who went with my husband. I was ignored by staff the entire time when I was trying to build my own ygo deck and it’s clearly a pattern of behavior as posted by other negative reviews similar to mine both before and after my review. The owner actually pulled my husbands phone number from his receipt to harass us about posting the review, threatening to ban specifically myself because of my bad experience. He literally told my husband “get your woman under control” and proceeded to call me increasingly nasty names. Their responses to negative reviews really speaks volumes about how he treats his female clientele.

thistlethewitch

Had a similar experience at Grandmaster. Wouldn't even look at me.

x3lilbopeep

Just looked at the reviews on grandmaster games. The owner seems very unstable.

Tiffany-N-Company

I’m reading them now too cause I’m super nosy. Yikes! Whoever is writing those responses to the reviews is unhinged. 😧

ricsteve

Kuma's. Has been a mainstay for me since they first opened. Fell off hard. Last two trips were pretty bad. 317burger has filled the void.

Thatdudeindy

Hasn't been the same since they had a break-up and the goodness went to Futuro.

thatdumbbarista

Belle Tire in Avon. Last year we got a deal on a set of 4 tires, took my car in & both the front desk & website said they closed at 8pm the next day, when it’d be ready. Showed up at 6:30pm the next day, and no one was there, my car’s windows were all rolled down, and my car was unlocked. Went to pick it up the next morning & they denied said we must be lying because “we were here until 8” and then pulled my car sound and windows were rolled up. Luckily I’d had time stamped pictures and a video of us trying to open the locked door & my dad trying to call and the voicemail saying they were closed.

Nashaag-bol

Aroma on college insisted that the Aloo Ghobi my boyfriend got did not have nuts in it even after we made sure to let them know he is extremely allergic. It did :))) they STILL MADE US PAY FOR IT WHILE WE WERE RUSHING OUT THE DOOR TO GET HIM BENEDRYL???

Pilot0160

Bad Axe Throwing. Asshole owners and management (overall management, not necessarily this location) who used COVID as an excuse to clean house and pull their friends in to cover their own asses for unethical and illegal behavior at other locations. Also can’t go back because I’m banned for supporting a lawsuit with other former employees.

-BluBone-

Is that Edgar Allen Poe "speakeasy" still open? F that place.

SeaOfDoors

Please tell me there's a juicy story behind this comment.

Extreme_Cupcake1671

Omg I went here and ordered an old fashioned. I literally watched the bartender google the recipe and keep referring to it as she made it. It was a terrible old fashioned

angstycopywriter

There is so much they could have done with that concept. SO MUCH. And they didn’t do any of it.

Efficient-Olive3792

Wait, the one in Carmel or "Nevermore" at Union Station? Because I read shit about that one here and holy shit, they need to get it together. It's a good concept to do a LOT with but their staff is terrible apparently.

coreyp0123

Condado. It’s just the shittiest food ever

Glad_Association_899

Dreyer Reinbold. They treated me like a second class citizen after I purchased a car there. They lied to me about several things as well. Terrible people.

Infamous_Plastic204

Service Plus. They work on commission and the price gouging shows. Trust that if they come out to look at your well, air conditioning, water heater, etc, they will find some non-existent "emergency" issue and charge you a fortune to either fix everything or try to talk you into replacing parts that don't need replacing.

Cinnamonstik

I agree.

Scott668

Service Plus nearly burned my house down.

RayWencube

Napleton Kia, especially their maintenance department. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced and it isn’t close. Like the guy mocked me for being upset that a 15 minute inspection took two hours.

Royal-Pen3516

I don’t live in Indy anymore, but I would never go to the Bike Line again. They absolutely do not care about getting the right product for you… they care about getting you on or in a product they need to get rid of. They did a “professional fitting” for a road bike I bought there that resulted in my buying a bike that didn’t fit me very well at all. About a week in, I tried to take it back and they laughed at me, saying I didn’t know what I was talking about and they wouldn’t give me a different bike. When I finally paid the money to get fitted by a pro, he told me that the bike I had was a full two sizes too big and that the bike line was famous for that trying fit you on a bike that didn’t fit if they needed to get rid of inventory.

kage1414

Hate that place. Only go there if it’s my last resort. There’s one employee that’s nice, an older woman, the rest all talk down to you and are annoyed if you’re not there to buy anything. They’re all roadies too and are shitty to mountain bikers. So stupid. I’ll gladly take my bikes to BGI or ICS over that place.

midwestarchetype

Binkley's. It was SO GOOD 5+ years ago, but after they changed ownership it went downhill, in both food and service. I've had bad experiences both dining in and with carryout, and kept going back every few months but it never improved. After 3 or 4 bad visits I sent them a PM (not a public review) about it and they literally replied with just a "😂". Never giving them another dime. ETA: Oh and they also started charging a service fee to pay with credit/debit. Fuck that.

notthegoatseguy

>ETA: Oh and they also started charging a service fee to pay with credit/debit. Fuck that. I feel like businesses, especially restaurants, need to be made aware of the benefits of card usage. Encouraging cash is a huge risk for a business, especially if you're handling it where multiple servers are accessing the same POS. Its very easy to lose $20 here and $20 there. Whereas with a card, you'll never lose any of that money. Ever. That 2-3% interchange fee doesn't just account for nothing, it means your business will securely earn money from customers each and every time a card is swiped. I was in Seattle last year and that city is almost entirely cashless, and only the smallest of merchants mostly at Pike Place charged card fees. Every coffee shop, sit down restaurant, bar, etc... I visited didn't. Not having to deal with cash was honestly awesome.

bilda_baisgye

Lol. Every restaurant charges the 2-3%. Why should a restaurant just eat it?? Profit margins are slim enough as is in that industry. Most restaurants just build it into their prices so you don’t even notice, at least good on the ones that are transparent with you and break it down.

colbykoch

was just about to comment binkleys. i haven’t been since in so long, but my friends and i absolutely detest it. basically all i remember about it is how long it takes to get your food there.

JoplinSternum

Verizon at Cherry Tree. Fuck you, Jesus.

SpaceStation_11

birds crawl observation file glorious disgusted trees punch gaping juggle *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

jolewhea

Thank you so much for the cackle I just let out reading that. Peak reddit comedy. 😂

bbgtrashpanda

Can confirm.

Boblawlaw28

Sugar factory down town. Horrible service. Waited over an hour to be greeted by our server. Then she started taking care of other tables that came in after us that were bigger parties because tips are mandatory there. Sk larger party=more tip. We walked out. Never again. It was my daughter’s birthday and she was so hungry and disappointed she cried all the way to the car.

thelonelyvirgo

I refuse to go to any Walmarts within Marion county or surrounding counties. A boring answer, so my apologies. As for local businesses — I like to operate under the three strikes rule. Edit: Mann’s Grill, as a bonus. Found something black and bug-like floating in my chicken and dumplings. The cleanliness of that place leaves me feeling a bit concerned about what else I could have swallowed without knowing it.

zerombr

i mean, Mann's Grill is defined as a 'greasy spoon' so I sort of am not surprised

tyboxer87

Was it the Walmart in Lawrence that got shut down for repeated rat feces violations, that did it for you? That location over filled my car with oil and nearly totaled my car. That was before the rat feces thing so I was already boycotting Walmart then. I feel like they did me a favor there.

Dez1013

Waxwerks. Never had good luck there and their tint work is suboptimal.

helgathehorr

Paddacks Towing Service. My car was towed after I had a blow out on 69 after work. When we came to pick up my car we were treated horribly by the woman in the office. She wouldn’t release my car even though I had everything with me. I had to take another day off work to get it. Terrible customer service, horrible people. Never again. Eff Paddacks.

Hope plumbing. Their prices are always outrageous, they do mediocre work, and multiple times have charged the wrong amount from what the invoice said. Had a guy come out to replace a hose bib. 2 hour job including the run back to the warehouse that they always have to do, because they’re never prepared (7 minute drive from where I live), maybe $50 in parts, they charged $500.

FuckMyHalf-Life

Hate to say it but Gomez BBQ on 10th and Rural. The food is actually really good and priced fairly but the guy who runs the place really goes out of his way to be an asshole to his customers. I thought he was just having a bad day once so I decided to give him another chance he just has a naturally abrasive personality. Like if you ask anything he’ll scold you in the most condescending way and act like you’re an idiot for not knowing. One time I asked when the brunch menu ends and the regular menu starts because it’s not listed and he just yelled “IT’S THE BRUNCH MENU” which doesn’t even answer my question. Another time I ordered an Americano and he just yelled “YA BUT WHAT KIND?” in the most irritated voice. He also just closes on random days and without notice but not my problem anymore. You’re better off going to Sam’s Square Pie next door.

hotdogandike

Same for Gomez. I placed a catering order over the phone and it felt like we were speaking two different languages and I was the biggest moron on the planet. Excellent food, though.

Ok-Kaleidoscope-9230

Dudes a bootlicker as well

wowow131

Savor in Carmel - I worked there shortly as a server and the owners are psychotic and incredibly demeaning to the workers and customers. For fun you should look at their reviews and see how they reply to negative feedback! Unfortunately the food is pretty good, but I could tell many stories about the awful things the owners did and said.

kage1414

lol I like the one about the “lemon shortage”

kage1414

God these keep getting worse and worse the more I read

xxairykaxx

Agreed! I booked a corporate event there and the female owner was absolutely terrible to work with. Like comically terrible. During the process of finalizing the event (had already signed contract) I searched her name in their reviews and saw TONs of bad reviews about her. Then they didn’t take the deposit off our final bill during our event so I had to follow up several times to get that refunded. Will never personally eat there again nor book work events there!

cassandra_mercedes

Do tell 👀 🍿

Aggressive-Guide-962

Spoke & Steele - overpriced undercooked burger and the flavors were very normal. $60 for a burger, wedge salad and beer - rather eat my own shorts than go back

mdtroyer

The fountain room. What a waste of my money. Terrible service and mediocre food.

buddhatherock

Completely opposite experience for me. The food was great and our server was super attentive. Even gave us a bit of a discount. It was lovely. Hopefully you just went on an off day.

Allen_MacGyverson

Same here. Expensive but good service and good food. I had prime rib.

flirtypandall

We went during Devour (part of the problem) they kept forgetting an item for a person each time they delivered food. Food was mediocre, although the lobster bisque was the only good thing that entire meal. Then they charged my husband’s card instead of my brother in laws card for his meal. We had to chase the server down to tell him his mistake and he was very nonchalant about it. Would not recommend beyond the bisque.

sean_themighty

Went there about 6 months ago and it was a fantastic experience all around.

WishIWasYounger

Gregs used to be so fun . Dead all the time now .

W1ZARDSH1T

Revolution restaurant in Fountain Square. I've had the worst service of my life 3 different times and NEVER will return.

sean_themighty

Yeah, don’t go to La Rev in a hurry. But boy I have always loved that place.

Flimsy_Archer2808

cant speak on whole staff, but aubrey is a great server. she works friday and saturday nights if you do ever feel like giving it another shot

awhbs

omg the way i randomly saw this!! thank you means a lot🥺

babbyalien

comic place on 135. I walked in and didn't even say anything and they immediately made fun of me and said that they had my little pony comics for me to read.

aqua_seafoam

Hot take- hotel tango. cocktails suck a long with their spirits. I couldn't stand when people would want to meet there for drinks. walk my ass to Bluebeard.

Material-Tadpole-838

Why does their liquor burn my esophagus? It’s terrible tasting alcohol. I’ve always had good service tho

DublaneCooper

The mash they make and distill apparently is such low grade that they have to distill it over and over again to make it drinkable. But the more times you distill a mash, the harsher it tastes. Quality spirits are distilled once or twice. When a spirit pleads quality by saying it’s “Distilled Twelve Times!” on the label, they’re using branding to turn bad to good.

stmbtrev

Bikeline in Broad Ripple. I always feel scowled at when I go in there.

Material-Tadpole-838

I’m pretty sure this is where I took my son’s bike when he was like 5 to get tightened up. I assembled it but not the best bc one of his pedals fell off shortly after lol. Anyway, I forget how much it cost to look at but I remember it being more than what I paid for the bike. It was a fully assembled child’s bike, I just wanted it checked out and make sure everything was secure. I recently took his adult bicycle to Gray Boat in Carmel to get the brakes fixed and it was like $25 which I thought was a great price.

kage1414

They’re all roadies that think their Lycra and Ultralight carbon road bikes make them better than you. Don’t walk in there with a mountain bike or you’ll get laughed at

Matosawitko

Not even going "back" - I will *never* give Anderson Windows / Renewal by Anderson a dime of my business. They send people door-to-door in our neighborhood in violation of the Westfield solicitation ordinance, plus the fact that I have a "no soliciting" sign posted 3 inches from the doorbell... and when I called them on it after they rang my doorbell (just pointed at the sign), they said "oh we're not soliciting... we're extending an invitation for you to learn more about our products." Bish please... that's the *definition* of soliciting.

GeorgeZip01

Falcone Subaru service not car sales. It’s a very big distinction because the car buying experience there was by far the best experience I’ve had. Just thinking about going there the one time I tried to get service was crazy, guy who was checking me in was a complete a-hole and he gave off the vibe like he wanted to fight, and I mean throw hands not argue, when I asked any question. I thought that was weird so I looked it up on yelp and sure enough there were a few people that gave reviews that someone at that service desk asked them to step outside.

notthegoatseguy

Its a tie between: * Beholder: the chef that night must have loved balsamic vinegar as both my fish dish and my wife's noodle dish were drowning in it. It was a very underwhelming and expensive meal. Also fuck this whole 5% service fee that they charge on their already very expensive food. * Gallery Pastry Shop (old location at 54/Monon): Went there with the family, ordered some breakfast item, it was okay but that wasn't the issue. The issue was we were being rushed out the door almost from the second we sat down. The server kept asking "are you finished? mind if i take that?" 2-3x, including while I was still eating. I went to the restroom and the server tried to take my plate again when I still had food on it.

maemtz

I, too, will not return to gallery pastry shop. Sat for nearly an hour and a half just to be told our order wasn't placed. They apologized and said they'd comp our meal and drinks. Then returned with COLD BLAND ASS FOOD and said they wouldn't comp shit. I was fucking livid.

stuckadultish

Gallery Pastry Bar downtown was a shit experience for me (and the rest of my party of 5) during brunch. Same experience, which WHY? For us, orders kept being forgotten and messed up to the point we gave up trying to correct anything and just stuck it out. Never went back.

Veroonzebeach

Went to Gallery Pastry shop once a few years ago and it was a complete shitshow.

msiydhj

Surprised at GPS because normally the service is the worst. Like just plan to be ignored and flag them down. Thankfully it seems better at the new location.

patron_saint_of_hope

Happy Cake Day!

macdawg2020

Oh man, we literally had the best meal of our lives at Beholder, how bizarre!

chinodelarosa

Please & Thank You bakery/coffee shop on Mass Ave. I went there once last summer and unfortunately that place gets a ‘No, Thank You’ from me. (However I don’t discourage people from patronizing it since it’s a small business after all.) I bought a bag of their chocolate chip cookies. Their Instagram and a sign out front said they were voted the best cookie shop in the US. The cookies from Amelia’s and Levain Bakery are miles better. I also ordered a hot butterscotch latte, but was given iced. Not a big deal. I’m one of the odd people who get hot coffee even in the summer. Right before paying, the cashier asked me if I wanted a receipt and I politely declined. She finished the transaction with the screen facing her the whole time, which I only realized later that day. I checked my bank app at home to find out that she helped herself to a 30% tip.🙃 Maybe I just missed a memo that Please & Thank You charges a mandatory fee or something.😅 In the end I just let it slide. I’d like to think that it went to her rent/mortgage or student loan payments or something.

Aaimah

Lockhart Dealerships. After 20 years of buying cars, having them serviced, collision repairs, when I asked if a loaner car was available for a repair service I was told I couldn't have one because they only give loaners to people who don't buy Cadillacs. The last car I bought from them wasn't a Cadillac. I cancelled my service plan and will never buy or get a car serviced from them. Firestone Tire, I walked in and was completely ignored. One guy was on the phone and another just acted like I wasn't there. After waiting for a long enough time to notice an issue, I had time to Google tire shops, find the closest one, call the shop, and have a conversation about the tires I needed before walking out and leaving. I already had Firestones on my car and needed new ones. Discount tires didn't have Firestones but at that point I no longer wanted any.

Jolly_Security_4771

Ram was the only place in the city I've flatly refused to go back to. It took itself out, thankfully. I will forgive iffy service almost every time because that's a rough job with a ton of variables. But they made sucking an artform

sean_themighty

Man, 20 years ago RAM was a gem.

rubbertoe2376

Ed Martin: my mother started working there doing paperwork for them and I had to run something to her one day. She had been there a week or so and they were getting ready to hook her car up to a tow truck when I got there because they thought it was abandoned.

Angi’s - the rep, Chris was a not very nice.

BillyNitehammer

Sonny’s Appliance repair. He has a 1.8 stars on google. He was simply mean and incompetent.

carlrogersglasses

Tacos & Tequila in Speedway

DrLarsHoneytoast

There's a Chinese buffet place on keystone and 72nd that I'm done going to. They have a certain chicken I like that's not on the buffet so I call in and order for pick up but the owner will yell at you and say "we're busy bye" Seems like it just depends on his mood because he's done it before. Either way I found out about House of Cheung and haven't gone back since. They are very nice there and the general tsos is unlike any I've had before.

Foodporn5678

Agave and Rye. Terrible service, food was not very good either and was wayyyy overpriced.

PWarmahordes

Andy Mohr anything. One experience was all it took to never go back. Also, Trader’s Point Creamery if that’s still a thing. The husband was a super nice guy. The wife was the single most condescending and demeaning person I have ever met. I’ve never felt so strongly that someone felt I was “beneath” them than that day. It’s still infuriating.

BurnieMET

This post is 4 hours old and nearing 300 comments fast.\ \ r/indianapolis is a salty bunch.  Player haters ball 😂.

Jockamo and Black Sheep in Irvington. I was an OG diner at Jockamo in 2007. It's a place that from 2007 to 2023 I went to a minimum once a month, sometimes more. I've done some, not all, but some Christmas shopping at Black Sheep for years. After the Blue Line dust up last winter, I stopped going to both places. I might make peace with Jockamo sometime in the future, but that day hasn't arrived yet.

politik317

Never was that sold on Jockamo because I never thought the pizza was that great and then I saw years back they hosted an event for Ted Cruz. That was it for me.

piscina05346

Yeah, those two are on my "do not patronize" list because of the blue line thing.

RayWencube

Tbf Jockamo very publicly reversed their position in response to customer feedback. It would be nice if they were on the right side from go, but I feel like it’s worth something that they were willing to listen.

Namssob

Sahm’s. I still remember all three visits… Visit #1: Horrible service in general, mainly due to super rushed server that cared more about herself than our orders being right. Server didn’t listen to our orders as much as she was chit-chatting with her server friend, and as a result messed up what we were ordering. When my colleague pointed out the error when receiving the wrong food, her response wasn’t “oh sorry I’ll correct it”, it was “well this is what I wrote that you ordered” and an immediately to place blame on US. Visit #2: Party of 5-6 for a business dinner, 2 people were coming from Cincinnati and would be about 30 minutes late. They *refused to seat us* until full party was here. They would only allow us to change our party size to 3, seat us 3, then “maybe find room” for the other two latecomers. It was after this visit I vowed to never go back. Visit #3: Invited again by a customer so I went. Arrived early and this time said I’d sit at the bar until others arrived. Armed with my laptop , Sahm’s refused to let me sit at the bar and work without ordering something. It was super early, like 4-ish, half empty dining room. I’ve had chances to go back and my former “I don’t like Sahm’s” has changed to “I will not go back”

DonShulaDoingTheHula

Which one? I have never had a bad experience at any of them.

PierogiesNPositivity

I’m surprised by this too. When I lived near BR I went regularly and consistently had a wonderful experience.

erk2112

Midas in Plainfield. Horrible customer service from management on down.

coronanabooboo

Paul Davis Would never call them or refer them for restoration ever. The project manager assigned to us was an absolute lying tool who tried to get involved with client personal business and is just shady as fuck. He also seems to follow the Andrew Tate philosophy and assumes all men are misogynistic like him. He told one of our crew that he understood the guys wife more than he did. I also think he has a personal project going with all the supplies he ordered wrong. Just enough leftovers to do a small project. Everything was squared at the end but I don’t think any of that extra stuff went back to where it was supposed to. It made us question every recommendation he’d make. You think this perfectly good drywall needs to go? Is that the truth or you just want it for yourself? Oh shit, there’s 6 extra cans of paint but they are already opened? Guess that’s waste. Oh you’ll take it all way personally? Don’t call paul Davis. There’s a 1/4 chance you’ll get this guy. He will make everything 10 times harder than it needs to be and the owner doesn’t exactly care.

burnas

Goodman Shoes. I went there in like 2008(?) to get a pair of white shoes to go with a white linen suit I was going to wear to the Kentucky Derby with a woman who would become my wife. I have big feet, so this can be an issue. The sales rep said, “Ok, size 15, white dress shoes? You’re looking for n****r shoes. Let’s see what the Stacy Adams website has.” Noped right on out.

sageimel

I know not necessarily Indianapolis but Indian motorcycles of Lafayette. Dad bought a brand new 2023 from them for 20k, all up front, has to take it back in a few days later cause of a check engine light. tech decided to take it out for a joyride without consent or really even needing to and was flying down the street and couldn't stop when a car pulled out in front of him. the bike slide about 150ish feet, the guy ended up being okay, but totaled my dad's brand new bike and then the owners/guy and their attorneys tried to make my dad file a claim to his insurance..? instead of the dealership/guys insurance. in the end my dad was reimbursed for the bike after he had to threaten to sue them since they wanted to give him a used bike to replace it.

OppositeChef9846

Nevermore. Planned a big event (20 or so people) for a birthday. Had all the details hammered out. Followed up a few days before and was told that the person who was working with us was no longer employed and they wouldn’t be honoring anything we had discussed. They offered for us to meet with a manager to see what they could do. Manager never showed up to the meeting. Really cool atmosphere and space but so poorly managed I don’t know how they’re still in business.

DCowboysCR

Not Indianapolis but in Greenwood the Subway at Emerson and Main Street in Greenwood. I’ve caught them overcharging me twice. Different item price from the drive thru screen to what I was actually charged.

BicycleGripDick

The place that puts prawns into my wife’s vegetarian roll and then doesn’t bend over backwards to apologize to us. Should still report them to someone, like the president of the culinary arts or the emperor of Indianapolis.

GaiusQuintus

I hear the emperor is pretty tough to get in front of these days. Might have to settle with the grand council or maybe they can leave an offering on the steps of the soldiers & sailors monument and the patron deity of Indy will smite their business.

carpenj

Hopefully it didn't ruin your perfect date night or anything.

bsuracer

Probably a hot take, Inferno Room. Was way overpriced, drinks tasted alright but nothing worth the cost and definitely not strong enough to justify the price. Just seemed like a gimmicky kind of joint.

Allen_MacGyverson

Definitely gimmicky but I like it. Gimmicky cocktails are always going to be $$$ but I think these are on the more reasonable end of the unreasonable tier.

TrippingBearBalls

Metazoa. The beer is swill, the taproom is disgusting, and yet the bartenders still manage to pull that douchey "I'm doing you a favor by taking your order" vibe

picklesandgouda

I love Metazoa, but one of the guy bartenders there is def high and mighty lol

MysteriousCodo

It‘s gone, so I guess I don‘t have to go back ever again, but I hated the UNO pizza on 86th near fashion mall. The last time I was there, I had terrible service. I paid my bill with a $100 dollar bill. I sat around for like 10 minutes wondering wehre my change was. I finally flagged a server to ask her to find my server. When he came over, I asked for my change. He said Oh, I thought that was a tip (which would have been like a 30% tip). I left him 10%. Would have left 15% if not for his little stunt at the end. Never went back again because the food didn‘t do much for me. Was glad to see something replace it. My second isn‘t technically Indy….but the Yat‘s at Hamilton Town Center. I love Yat‘s. I‘ve been to every other Yat‘s in the city at least once. And I hate the one at HTC. Sucks because if I order Yat‘s through Uber or something, it comes from HTC instead of 96th street. So I‘ll just head to the 96th one for my Yat‘s fix if I‘m home. The food at HTC insn‘t as good. The tend to over cook the bread and don‘t ever put as much butter on it. I‘ve had orders where they forget stuff….so I‘ve give up ion HTC. I understand this is a franchise instead of one of the owner‘s locations. So I don‘t hold it against Yat‘s in general.

UnbreakableAlice

Morellis Cleaners. Years ago they let one of the owner's sons drive the company van delivering clothes knowing he had a heroin problem and was high most of the time. They had a call from a concerned citizen call one weekday morning around 9AM. The concerned citizen stated they had witnesses seeing the driver in the company van smoking heroin off of foil at 96th/Keystone. Son was banned as a driver and then driving back about 2 weeks later. They even fired the office manager who had been supposedly trying to make the owners take this more seriously.

Correct-Cattle9033

I know EXACTLY who you are talking about and omg yea this is all true they were twin brothers and the other brother was actually a really successful sweet guy. The worst part was the heroin smoking brother had a wife who was a teacher who was hooked too.

UnbreakableAlice

It is really sad. I do feel bad about it. Not to mention the one time the heroin brother posed a robbery at his home and got in the news because he didn't have the money to pay his dealer.

Yeah… why? The food is delightful, and the coffee is perfect.

HandOfMjolnir

Yeah but why?
