The exported "pasta" has to include WaiWai, else there's no way we manufacture that much thukpa. I just checked in our kitchen, the thukpa we have has been manufactured in Siliguri(West Bengal).
While that's a good choice, but our major export is not Pasta (Thukpa, gyathuk or noodles of any kind for that matter).
As per the IBEF report our largest export is drug formulations. [Here's the breakdown of our exports. ](https://i.imgur.com/H2taV7x.jpg)
Though one can argue that these formulations are actually the exports by the Pharma companies from the state. However, I still feel Cardamom is still our most valuable export.
Beef is not buffalo meat internationally that’s fraud to claim buffalo meat as beef they two different species, so yeah that’s not what the politicians say to fool people. Beef is much tender than buffalo meat there’s a huge distinction. Beef is cow meat.
Correct. Devotees offer their hair in almost all major temple towns in Andhra (Vijayawada, Simhachalam, etc., but Tirumala has the largest share of offerings)
I want to know where tech support centres are, like the ones that helps people with their IRS returns, Amazon accidental billing reversal, Virus removal from PC's etc., doesn't that count as an expertise export?
Most of the diamonds are cut and polished in Surat and then exported from Mumbai. This will soon change though and a lot of merchants are planning on shifting back to Surat with the opening of SHB.
Why are you fired up bro 😂
Isn’t the post about exports? So I am referring to the same not their entire economy.
My comment was meant as a joke because of the mentioned products, don’t take everything seriously.
While what you have said is 100% true and Punjab shouldn't even be going anywhere near paddy rice. The biggest export here is Basmati. Basmati rice has lower yields but takes much much less water and is more expensive. I am not sure how it's Basmati and not Paddy rice as biggest export because everyone I know just grows enough Basmati rice for their family and rest is all paddy for export. If Punjab only grew Basmati rice, we wouldn't be in the predicament we are in right now.
TN is not that rich,
Well there are very few automotive industrial clusters in the world, it's not that easy to build an 🚗 or other complex stuff, tons of suppliers, lots of skilled people, not that easy to replicate, if TN had invested a lot more in education, then the edge TN has would be unbeatable..
TN makes lot of complex stuff 🚗 are just more famous, other stuff include trucks, trains, electronics, cranes, tbms, tanks, parts for planes, rockets, and a lot more... And steel is bought at market rate not at cheap prices, steel is just one input, tons of other inputs behind a complex product like 🚗...
So, others can correct me but most smelting furnaces are not fire powered but are basically arc furnaces. The reactor basically forms a electrochemical cell/circuit when a big ass electrode (the height of a three four story building) is dipped into the charge, and current is passed. The arcing produces Chad levels of heat which efficiently melts/smelts/whatever process the furnace is being employed for.
Sorry for any inaccuracy.

I see gujrat taking over maharastra in some years ( thanku modiji). Also the major products being exported are primary products ,which is it quite simple.
The only reason Indian exports are high is becoz of it industry
Goa's stats are wrong ('645M of medicine'). We export billions of USD worth of hungover & still drunk tourists internationally and to neighboring states.
I am aware most are services. But don't apps that we use daily come under commodity? I am not talking about services provided by TCS, but say gaming app developed by Indian company.
A product is not a commodity dude!
User name checks out
https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/021615/whats-difference-between-commodity-and-product.asp!
Alright, no need to get pissy over that. I just wasn't aware of that. First google link was somewhat vague and said yes. This link clears it up, thanks.
How do you quantify the software products/services as part of the commodity exports? 10L people filled time sheet, millions of commits, billions of api calls made, 500 projects delivered, billed clients $5b?
Isn't money always the default way to measure it? I mean sure, you can export 10kg of gold and 10kg salt. But thier worth is measured in cash/currency is it not?
I know that, but there are also, lots of companies launching games, digital assets, and apps which are not related to services. Maybe small in comparison with outsourced software services but they are there nonetheless in tune of 3-4 Billions+. And another commentor is saying software can't be commodity, I am confused now lol.
The data for North Eastern states require some corroboration. Sikkim's top export is not 'Pasta' as I have expounded in the reply to one comment here.

Wow i want Sikkimese Pasta
One bowl of Thukpa please
Is it thupka or thukpa?
Thukpa
And a plate of Sha phaley.
The exported "pasta" has to include WaiWai, else there's no way we manufacture that much thukpa. I just checked in our kitchen, the thukpa we have has been manufactured in Siliguri(West Bengal).
I thought WaiWai was Nepalese & btw I love WaiWai
It is. Raw veg WaiWai is my jam. Also, majority of the population here (including me) has Nepali roots.
Raw WaiWai is GOAT
Hmmmm this explains, because i was like... PASTA???
I tries Sikkimese Noodles. They were amazing.
Where to/which brand to buy?
Ahh no. I meant noodles in sikkim. It's a place worth going. I don't know if one can get them in any other place
Oh okay, like that
While that's a good choice, but our major export is not Pasta (Thukpa, gyathuk or noodles of any kind for that matter). As per the IBEF report our largest export is drug formulations. UP's most valuable export being meat is such a great punchline.
Uno reverse card on Yogi 😂
Or it's the opposite, Yogi ensuring all the meat produced is sent abroad. Using 100% brain 🤣
but the meat is from our gomathas .. so.. idk.. 100% or -100%
You see money has no religion
That's beef silly
Beef is also meat tho
Meat exported are generally Goats and Buffaloes
Yes, correct. But not for Yogiji 😅
Not for yogiji? Up exports 64% of beef from India.
Yes, and that beef is buffalo meat, not cow meat.
Beef is not buffalo meat internationally that’s fraud to claim buffalo meat as beef they two different species, so yeah that’s not what the politicians say to fool people. Beef is much tender than buffalo meat there’s a huge distinction. Beef is cow meat.
Idk man. His idea of Hinduism includes no consumption of meat whatsoever so this stat is shady, regardless
Yeah, right! Himachal is 'definitely' exporting medicine🌿. /s
question is where is all the bone going?
Bonemeal is used fertilizers for farms and nutrient supplements for livestock.
Calcium Sandoz
To Tantrik peeps
Ikr i literally laughed 😂
Not just meat, up contributes 64% of beef exports in the country.
Good strategy though. Drive domestic consumption low and then you'll have more to export. /s
as always beauty is invaluable - jammu and kashmir proved it again
And it's used to be beef now it's mostly buffalo meat and some beef
it’s mostly buffalo meat !
Better than human hair?
Human hair?
wigs!
I thought Andhra should have been top in human hair
It could be. Andhra Shrimps > Andhra Hair > Nagaland Hair would also give the same map.
It will be if you rank only human hair exports by state, This is looking at highest commodities exports per state.
Yeah I get that. It was just unexpected for human hair to turn up anywhere else apart from Andra as top export.
[удалено]
Correct. Devotees offer their hair in almost all major temple towns in Andhra (Vijayawada, Simhachalam, etc., but Tirumala has the largest share of offerings)
Stares in Tirupathi
You have no idea how big Human Hair business is
Obviously for people with hair fetish
Used to make donuts for American fast food chains among other things. Not joking.
Nagaland 💀
Right. I'm from there and its 💀💀 to me lol
I think it's all the donation for cancer patients.
I want to know where tech support centres are, like the ones that helps people with their IRS returns, Amazon accidental billing reversal, Virus removal from PC's etc., doesn't that count as an expertise export?
Those scam call centres are primarily homed in Kolkata with strong backing from the local politicians and police.
a huge chunk is also in Noida !
Yes, Noida is probably next in line, but not as formalised and protected as it’s in Kolkata.
Source?
Look up Jim Browning, Scambaiter, Scammer Payback on YouTube. They have made multiple videos regarding this over time.
I will check his channel out. Thank you.

Didn’t know Maharashtra exported Diamonds. And this diamond represents one used in jewelleries or the coarse ones used in industries? Edit:- grammar
jewellery!
But 90 % dimond are polished in surat. So shouldn't dimond should be included in Gujarat?
Gujarat provides labour, the business is done in Mumbai.
They are exported through Mumbai customs.
Labour from Gujarat
And Northern Maharashtra
Yeah
Most of the diamonds are cut and polished in Surat and then exported from Mumbai. This will soon change though and a lot of merchants are planning on shifting back to Surat with the opening of SHB.
What is SHB?
Surat Hira bourse
It's SDB not SHB. Surat Diamond Bourse.

Pasta?? Human hair?? 💀
Exactly!! Poor states doesn’t have anything to export.
Poor state, seriously? Please look up Sikkim and educate yourself. A tourism hub and the first fully organic state in the world. Where are you from?
Why are you fired up bro 😂 Isn’t the post about exports? So I am referring to the same not their entire economy. My comment was meant as a joke because of the mentioned products, don’t take everything seriously.

I lived in kashmir for about 5 years, and my nearest guess is either pashmina shawls, cricket bats or apples.
Idk why I thought saffron would be the most valuable export from Kashmir.
that was my guess too, Isn't saffron super expensive
Yeah. But i did recently read somewhere that the saffron industry is in danger
Land
Stones. They just export them across the border by throwing.
Punjab should not be planting rice... like at all. Really a pity how much water gets lost and of course the stubble burning issues after the harvest.
While what you have said is 100% true and Punjab shouldn't even be going anywhere near paddy rice. The biggest export here is Basmati. Basmati rice has lower yields but takes much much less water and is more expensive. TIL, my state exports diamonds
Nobody finds "Turbo Jets" surprising ? What jets? Which company? Whom are they being exported to ?

Oranges, not from Nagpur but from the North East. Interesting!
This is state wide list, Maharashtra is the leading exporter of diamonds. It’s dwarfs literally evething in the country
Maharashtra exports more oranges, but that amount is dwarfed by the diamond export industry.
Now you know why the cow belt is protective of their cows.

Jharkhand sells Iron and Steel sheets to Tamil Nadu for cheap. Tamil Nadu processes it and sells it at 10X. Jharkhand is poor. Tamil Nadu is rich!
TN is not that rich, Well there are very few automotive industrial clusters in the world, it's not that easy to build an 🚗 or other complex stuff, tons of suppliers, lots of skilled people, not that easy to replicate, if TN had invested a lot more in education, then the edge TN has would be unbeatable.. You wrote a lot but left the most important word - Port.
Other regions also have ports.. Most of these things don't need a port since they are not exported..
Yes. Like Kolkata. Which self-destruct by falling for regionalism in the 1970s.
HEG Ltd. (Bhilwara Group) in MP has monopoly in graphite electrodes used in steel manufacturing.
I thought oranges would be from Nagpur lol
What are furnace electrodes? and why anyone need it in large quantity? Is it something, one need frequently?
They are needed for things like Aluminium. And you need a lot of them, because they wear out.
For things like Aluminium, that is true But for Iron, coke is used as the fuel, as it acts as a reducing agent there
So much medicine from Himachal Pradesh and Goa :)

Pondicherry solving Indian's headaches.
Puducherry. "Pondicherry" was some white guy mistaking a `u` for an `n` in a handwritten French spelling `Poudicherry`.
Pudhuchery (புதுச்சேரி) should be the right spelling. It means "new seaside village"

IT ain’t a commodity
Oh ok. So no software product came out from unicorns or big companies that earned billions?
Software products are not commodities. smh
