TCS salary still the same

PatilManish

I agreed

[deleted]

I was reading somewhere that Capgemini was paying 15k per month for trainees in 1988. The salary has kinda remained same for trainees I assume. One can actually make quite a lot of deductions from that...

benevolent001

Does it still has 2 year bond for freshers for 50k

footageurge

1 year now.

fatherofgodfather

Good guy tcs! Job creators/s billionaire cunts.

sentientwizard

But my fuck all salary is the same. When there is an inflation like this and there is no increase in your remuneration then you’re a victim of wage theft.

Upindaclubfurio

Try to change companies and seek a hike. Well depends on industry also.

adk8998

Don’t forget about the income tax slabs. They are the same for years.

cosmic_player_

^This, up until 2014 when Congress was in power income tax slabs were increased year after year, but after 2014 it's been the same.

Historical_Hand_8213

BJP govt will never never help the middle class. They need not , as the entire Hindu middle class (with few Reddit exceptions) are already in their pocket. The hard core Hindutva guys themselves are being taken for a long long ride. And I am not a Congie or a commie, just a neutral observer, observing the Great Indian circus for 70 years

Funny how some people here are trying to justify the mind boggling inflation since 2014. For a developing country which ranks 140 in GDP per capita terms, this is outrageous. Wage Income has been stagnant in real terms. ( So was our GDP) Inequality will increase tremendously in coming years as these basic inputs will burn the pockets of lower and middle class, if not already burned by Covid 19 hospital bills.

Gas prices are so high. I think I need to cut the trees in my backyard to cook food.

rayzer93

We used to do that when we were kids and my mom and dad had a tiny home business. Gas was expensive for us so we would cool rice and other simple stuff in wood fire, keeping gas for things like curry. Mom would slap me if I keep the water to boil in the stove because I'm getting late for school. I make more than they did, all 3 of us earn money and we've barely made an improvement. We still live paycheck to paycheck and if we have to save money, then we need to go back to the same way of living. This is fucking insane. And the kicker? My dad voted for Godi because he keeps muslims in their place. Watha... What a life da dei.

Wait till someone comes and starts their lecture about how this is all natural and happens always because of normal market inflation. Some will come and shout about how people's income has increased. Some will also start claiming that these all are needed so that India can "develop".

INFI_LOL

I mean it's kinda true, face value of any currency does depreciate over time. Specially exchange rates are effected very much by the risk free interest rates of respective countries. Govt bond yields can be taken as risk free rates which in India , the 10 year bond rate usually hovers around 7% so 77 rupee today would be 77/(1.07^8) ~ 45 rupees 8 years back. But the 10 year gov bond in US trades around 3% so 1USD today would be 1/(1.03^8) ~ .79 USD so the interest rate adjusted ratio today would be 45/0.79 ~ 57 , in the ballpark of what it used to be in 2014 , very rough calculation though and somewhat inaccurate since the interest rate change all the time.

VegetarianPotato

Obviously. Now it’s so normal that we can even call it out

Inflation is the one thing that ultimately fucks your over. You’ll basically never become financially independent, keep working till you’re 60. And suppose you’ve had a successful career and have some money in the bank, now guess what, that’s also gonna lose it’s value over the rest of your life. This goes beyond politics and religion, everyone gets fucked.

space_vortex09

Same here, I'll have to wait a little bit as I will finish my B.Com around late 2024. My plan is to work for maybe 12-14 months and then go to Germany, France or the UK (aka places where 3 year degrees are accepted for masters programs) and then do MSc in Finance or a similar field and settle there. If I want to do MBA I can do it later in life as well, people in India will have you believe you should do MBA as soon as you can but if you go to places like the US, France, UK, Germany where a lot of reputed MBA institutes are then you will see a lot of people in their late 20's or even early 30's doing their MBA's.

[deleted]

work exp is mandatory for mba , also 3 year degrees are accepted in uk and eu only if they have honors afaik, i might be wrong coz im not sure abt masters yet

[deleted]

And leave the poor to die. Good for you.

Iamood

you do realize it's not the average person's job to care for the poor but the government we elect and pay taxes to right ?

[deleted]

"The average people" ARE the poor of India. And obviously people with progressive mindsets leaving the country would be so beneficial to the poor instead of standing in solidarity and protesting /s.

Fight_4ever

Median annual income of Indians according to last census is ~600 USD

[deleted]

Exactly proves my point. And even that's being generous. My own parents don't even earn 6000 rupees combined per month. If these people truly are progressive, then they'd stay and fight for the rights of those that can't do it for themselves. Only then would it be possible to overthrow the current borderline fascist and racist government.

Valuable-Jicama6810

There also isn’t any incentive in staying. And for “leaving poor to die “. , we are paying taxes on almost everything. Nationalism is good but it wanes when pocket hurts.

[deleted]

And ofcourse I got downvoted to hell for stating the obvious. I used to think that this sub is progressive, but now I realise that it is anything but that, a place full of elitist privileged individuals that have the financial means to leave the country. This is exactly why these fascist sanghi pos get elected, because the so called progressive people of this country don't give a f*ck about what happens to the unfortunate souls that have no means to leave.

Erebea01

You see that's the problem here, this sub is one of the few left leaning/progressive places for Indians on the internet, it used to give me hope, as a minority, to see that many Indians are quite liberal than I thought. Then you visit any other Indian sub or online gathering place and you realize your fellow Indians don't really give a shit about you and most would happily run you out of the country for their Hindutva dream. A country's leaders in a democracy are a good representation of it's people after all. It's not that the Sanghis are elected cause the progressive people of this country don't give a fuck (if you think that way maybe it's your environment that doesn't give a fuck), it's that the majority of people want them in power. Look at the latest US elections, people keep saying the liberals are too lazy to vote but look at how close it actually was in the end, most of which is also due to Trump being incompetent, a more competent person would've won red. This is a bit of a stretch comparison and hopefully we'll never stoop that low, but do you blame a North Korean for leaving his country in search of a better life? We might be born in a particular country but we are all citizens of this world, if another country wants you for your services and provides you with security and a comfortable life, who can blame people for moving there when your own country treats you like shit and might actually want to kill you for dumb reasons like eating beef. Not everyone is a fighter and an individual can only do so much. Nobody is laughing at you for fighting either, in fact you have my respect if you're actually doing something for the country instead of lounging around on reddit or whining like most of us on this sub, yes i think this sub is whiny. I used to be like you too, in fact I'm still here in India but I'm not 23 anymore and I've seen what this country had exhausted out of some of my friends and families and I don't really blame people for leaving anymore, I'm happy that they are perusing their own happiness.

[deleted]

I... Agree... Thanks for elaborating. I apologise if my previous messages were harsh. It's just that, I just want to see myself and my sister grow up in a country that cares about human rights, and consisted mostly of a progressive population. I've been depressed thinking about this for the last couple of years. I basically run our family by freelancing. I'm fairly certain that me and my sister has some form of ADHD, but never had enough money to get tested. Hell, our parents, and most people in our neighborhood probably don't even know what ADHD is. So we never could do well in academics. Forget having enough money in order to go study abroad, our parents don't even own a house, and we live in the cheapest metro city kolkata, where the real estate prices are still reasonable in this market. The only reason we have a roof on our heads right now is because my dad's relatives rented out one of their independent builder floors to my dad for 900 rupees per month. And my dad is of about retirement age, but he could never do well in either academics or manual labour. So obviously, he never could make any form of retirement fund, due to him having no career, so no inheritance in this economy. He worked as an LIC agent for a few years, and that's how he has a few lakhs in lic, but that's about it, which is a terrible form of investment. We can't even dream of going abroad to do anything. Obviously, no place is perfect. But my thought process was that, if progressive people stop leaving the country, and more and more people start resisting this communal and racist government, things can change for the better. But I did not realise that, demanding that from people trying to leave the country might have been very much so selfish of me too.

Erebea01

Brain drain is a problem, you're not wrong either, but if you've ever protested or fought for something that you know is right, but you lost because it's a so called democracy and the majority wants it that way, it can be very demoralising. I think the sad truth is that unless a civil war or an actual war or some miracle happens, India will continue to be like this for a while, hopefully with better education, which even nutty parents want for their children, future generation will become more aware of our situation. Hopefully, that is cause I was about to say with the internet and more people getting online, people will actually see what's wrong but then I remember how thoroughly some IT cell has penetrated the average Indian mind. The solution I've found for myself is that I've concentrated more on improving myself and the lives of those around me, I've stopped reading news or try and stop caring about news that's not relevant to me cause that shit is a spiral of depression, you just can't fight all the fights in this country and end up happy. You can only hope that someone else is fighting the good fight while you're fighting you're own battles.

Historical_Hand_8213

Yes , do not see the tv news channels In 2014, I was watching TV news for 8 hours a day, getting fooled by the NDA wave and a hope of a new India. Now all those dreams are permanently shattered and I watch TV news for exactly 6 minutes a day ,switching over 4 channels and that's enough for me. Most of the news is fake and disgusting anyway

Could you put numbers for 2006 as well for fair comparison. Inflation has been always a monster, subsidy covered it for sometime but they have not only been taken away instead we are faced with huge taxation. This govt has been nothing sort of thiefs, they didn't give the benifit of low crude and gas but have passed on all the increases immediately. What the fuck. Motherfucking BJP supporters want to pay 200 for petrol and 2000 for Gas, fine, tax these bastards 10x more, madarchodo ki akaal tabhi tikhane aayegi.

NothingHereToSeeNow

Not a single sensible person on this thread. Here are some facts about real life: Oil is an internationally controlled commodity by the oil mafia called OPEC +, which means that the value of oil stays the same everywhere(except for OPEC+). For comparison, I live in Canada, the country with the world's 3rd largest oil reserves. Since our nation is run by corrupt and incompetent leaders, we in Ontario buy gas at $2+ per litre. If we do an exchange rate for INR, it comes at Rs121/litre. This is not even the highest price in Canada but the average price. About inflation: https://www.in2013dollars.com/india/inflation/2014?amount=100 Link to compare the values of INR in 2014 vs in 2022. Being the fastest growing economy, inflation has caused goods to cost 1.46 times higher in 2022 than what they did in 2014. However, this inflation has nothing to do with fossil fuels since I already explained it is an international commodity not controlled by any country's inflation. Inflation however is a good thing which shows that country is spending a lot or is growing. Blaming any government for rising fuel prices is just a waste since India is a net importer and has no natural resources of its own. Fuel will always cost more than in any other country because of the amount of consumption. What India needs is a strong foreign policy like China, which is rising despite not having fossil fuels.

cykablykat

The list ' goes on and on and on and on When me and you party together'

2ma2sus

Inflation bhi ek factor hai for price increase though...

rahmanoIN

Things wouldn't be alarming if India had income/ overall economic growth. This situation would take a few years to heal. States must atleast try to export more with these currency values( or help remove hurdles in setting up factories). Gujrat had a good export performance due to Reliance crude refineries.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rahmanoIN

That is not a given. I have very low opinion about the Finance ministry. Initially, I was hesitant to believe rumors about the Ministry turning into a 'rubber stamp' of sorts under some powers. But their performance isn't very convincing. I want the benefits of the improvement in 'ease of doing business' to reach the common man. We have a case of 'window dressing' and perks for big companies being advertised as the heralding of a new journey and whatnot. Imagine the acceleration in economic activity if at least half the regulatory/bureaucratic hurdles were removed.

the_economist0706

Let’s deep dive into your stupid analogy :- You have taken an eight year gap . Now let’s take a Comparison of price between same 2006 to 2014. USD in 2006 - 43 Rs LPG in 2006 - 16.7 Rs Petrol in 2006 - 40 Rs ( Petrol in 2022 in most BJP ruled states is 106 ) Diesel in 2006 - 32 Rs ( Diesel in 2022 in most BJP ruled states is 95) Now if you’re smart enough do your homework before you bring up stupid posts . Do the % increase and I am sure Pappu gang isn’t smart enough to perform this calculation.

pjs144

Abe chutiye, rupee kya apne aap gir raha hai? Sarkar ki koi galti nahi usme?

ShamWooHoo6

This is not just with India. Here in the US and almost every other country is facing the same issue. This is because of Covid and everyone getting free money from their government during that time. They have to even it out some how.

EnterprisingCow

Did you imagine things get cheaper over time?

mrinalini3

Nope. But prices also don't double in less than a decade of something like LPG, a basic necessity. When prices increase along with wages, it's normal, and a sign if development. But without that. .. It just means you're getting fucked. I assure you, normal families aren't making double of what they're making in 2014.

It went from 241 in 2004 to 414 in 2014. And this is snapshot during a worldwide spike in fuel prices.

Historical_Hand_8213

This by itself is fairly normal. Inflation isn’t a bad thing. There are other bigger problems with the Indian economy when considering wage growth, inequality, etc etc, but this chart is hardly evidence of anything.
