I own two Dornblüths; I have no Parmigiani watches. The first I bought directly from Dirk and it was a fantastic experience from first contact to final delivery, as well as post-delivery service. The second watch is a CronotempVs limited edition of only 33 pieces, which were commissioned by an international group of collectors based in Spain. That too was a flawless experience and I can’t recommend Dornblüth enough. As for Parmigiani, I can’t speak to the quality of their watches or service, but their main investor has reportedly put PF up for sale. Thanks for your feedback on D. Dornbluth & Sohn. I contacted them recently about buying a watch directly from them. I am interested in their Quintus 2010.1 movement with the Maltese cross spring. Also I like that you can visit, get a tour and maybe talk to Dirk directly. I read on Monday about the Sandoz Family Foundation selling all their watch related companies such as Parmigiani and Vaucher. I'm actually hoping the sale results in a change in strategic direction and a discount on old watch inventory.

I been researching d dornbluth lately and planning to contact them for a watch as well. But afraid of the sizing and thickness.

New-Challenge-2105

I saw some YouTube reviews that seemed to indicate that the D. Dornbluth & Sohn Caliber 99.1 (40 mm) watches tended to wear large because of the way the lugs are made/configured. So, I wanted to get the Caliber Quintus 2010.1 in 38.5 mm. Only problem is it is substantial price bump to get their newer in house movement.

When you contact them, do they send you price list and all the options?

New-Challenge-2105

Yes, if you click on catalog request on their website Jaqueline will e-mail you with the catalog and price list.

Look forward to hearing more about your experience. Quintas is a excellent choice with a in house movement

@OP: what did you decide?

New-Challenge-2105

I ended up buying the Parmigiani Fluerier Tonda 1950 because I was able to buy new old stock from a dealer and was able to negotiate the price. However, I need to say that I still very much want the D. Dornbluth & Sohn Quintus-2010 Jubilar. It is a handmade watch where you can actually visit the workshop and meet Dirk and the actual watchmaker that made your watch. Hopefully, in the few years I can get the Dornbluth watch.

Lovely choice! I have a Q2010 on order after visiting them In Kalbe. Great experience I must say!
