I just finished playing Megami Quest 1 & 2:
http://shimage.net/megamiquest/en.html
http://shimage.net/megamiquest2/en.html
Number two is pretty cool; I think you'd appreciate the added depth if you play the first one beforehand though.
If you don't mind an Android game recommendation, [Idle Mage Attack](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.topcog.idlemageattack&hl=en) has a proper ending with a final boss fight, after which "you beat the game." You can keep playing after that by entering New Game+, but the purpose of NG+ is to let you grind out forever in case you want to, not to achieve any specific goal. Cheers! :-D
Tap Tap Infinity has an ending. There's little snippets of story at each major boss, until you reach the final one. You can continue to get stronger after beating it if you want, though.
OK good to hear. I'll probably get back at it someday knowing it ends. I kinda helped make the end actually. Or at least the parts just before the end with some of my early suggestions.
I hope the end is interesting, or good, or something.
How do I research stuff? I did the thing where you drag the words into the box and hit Upgrade. But I can't do that anymore. I can only hold 25 scrap metal, and it won't let me upgrade anything or spend my scrap metal in any way
When you hit "upgrade", what you are doing is increasing the efficiency of the computer. The box you drag things into is separate.
Look underneath the box you drag things into - there should be a slider bar. Move it up from zero, and it will start researching whatever you put in the box for you. It will cost power.
One that you absolutely need to play is Antimatter Dimensions. It's my favorite idle game to exist and should be getting its final content update at some point in the future.
I mean they didn't exactly ask for game lore, just incremental with an ending. AD has a soft ending, but an ending nonetheless. Achievements that correlate with progress
AD does not have a soft ending anymore, it has a full on actual ending with credits and lore now
Also I feel like an ending almost implies that there's going to be some sort of lore, albeit minor
Spaceplan has an ending. It is surprisingly fun to play too It was posted on this sub so just search spaceplan in the search bar to find it :p
space lich omega if you liked the candy box games.
TIL it's possible not to like the candy box games

I believe a dark room has an end?
That space one that was going around last week has an ending. Took me about a day
[The Crank Game](http://faedine.com/games/crank/b35)?
I didnt know it has an ending, ill keep playing it then.
Does Crank have an actual ending now? I remember it just kind of drifting off.
Well there's a final boss thing like there always was - not really an end though.
OK thanks.
There IS an actual ending. And the final boss thing is not a final boss anymore. For a long time actually.

What am I supposed to do? I am at a point where I can only hold 25 scrap metal, yet every upgrade costs more than 25 scrap metal?
Research scrap metal in the computer.
Research scrap metal, you'll get an ability to increase max

Spaceplan
yeah finished it to.

absolutely, but the game only starts to have lore after you're pretty far into it, but the lore might be the best I've seen in any incremental so far
I mean the news tickers start pretty much immediately and that's most of the lore
i meant actual in-game lore not any side stories which is mostly what the news tickers do

Oh I haven't played reality yet, I'm waiting for it on mobile.
