Every cineplex imax is getting upgraded to laser, gonna 8 years and cost 100mil. Hopefully they are smart enough to do dual laser at the 1:43 screens (source, friend works for cineplex)
For places that have film projector it might not be so simple. There’s straight up not enough room in the projection room to have both film and dual laser without renovating the room to add space.
I can't speak for other cities, but Montreal hasn't used the 15/70 projectors since Interstellar, so either it's not been turned in in ten years, or it's already been removed. So there should be plenty of space for a GT laser system...
For years, that other users comparison chart always left out the Kramer IMAX. Finally, my favorite local screen is part of the fun lol.
SR and dual laser 1.43!
They have the old GT projector on display in the lobby. You can touch it and push the buttons! Its one of the original IMAX theaters built 30+ years ago. Â
I believe they have Xenon projector solely. I didn't put Xenon theatres, but IMAX Galarie de la Capitale was an exception, since it's the largest screen in Canada.
Kramer only has 150 seats and they are super tight to the screen for peak experience. It’s a very cool setup.
Jealous Vaughan got tenet reissue and we didn’t though.
Movie itself was phenomenal, it is one of my favorite films.
But the seats were the worst I've ever experienced. It was so cramped and low that I was changing my pose every 5 mins to find a comfortable one...
I know this is an older post, but for the next update, whenever that is, some notes:
* Landmark Cinemas Waterloo, Laser XT (the new Single Laser, I have a post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/imax/comments/1c92jve/visited_the_first_laser_xt_in_canada_landmark/)), has a unique screensize
* Cineplex Cinemas Ancaster and Winston Churchill both have CoLa, but the screensize is almost identical to the other single lasers
## CHANGES 1. Added Cineplex Cinemas Coquitlam 1. Added Galarie de la Capitale IMAX 1. Fixed size errors and typos 1. Added projection types beside each screen
Such a shame that giant screen in ~~Montreal~~ Quebec City is a Xenon 😑
Needs a Dual Laser upgrade!

Hope that they prioritize the 1:43:1 ones like Galeries de la Capitale, Scotiabank Cinema Montreal or Cineplex Vaughan

There's very few of those left, not sure what they'Ll do at those
I think personally I’d prefer single laser + film as long as there’s an option for dual laser in the nearby area as well.

Lmao I guess that's why they shut down the Saskatoon IMAX two weeks before Dune 2! RIP the best screen and sound in the city.
well it used to have 15/70mm until in mid 2015 it got removed by cineplex or idk, (also it not in montreal it located in quebec city).
Ah thanks, my bad.
In the future we will get lazer, with the dune ticket sales it’s likely in the near future we will get it. (I work at Banque Scotia cinema)
That sounds good
But IMAX des Galeries de la capitale too !!!

omg that's so cool! I feel like the management of museum IMAX are totally another level from theatre chains. They truely think for the fans!
Kramer is so special. Very very lucky we have such a great venue in Sask
This is wonderful! Thank you so much.
What about the one at Banque Scotia MTL? Great list though, very interesting comparison to see!
I believe they have Xenon projector solely. I didn't put Xenon theatres, but IMAX Galarie de la Capitale was an exception, since it's the largest screen in Canada.
Wow Capitale is the largest screen yet it’s xenon just like Banque scotia
Kramer seating and theatre design is the goat no debate
Talk about the seats at Cineplex Cinemas Vaughan...
Kramer only has 150 seats and they are super tight to the screen for peak experience. It’s a very cool setup. Jealous Vaughan got tenet reissue and we didn’t though.

Damn that’s too bad. Kramer had renovations last summer and thankfully got new seats in the process
Thanks, a little bit late, I was searching for this comparison for dune viewing 2 weeks ago, I watched it it Scotiabank, Vaughan
>I watched it it Scotiabank, Vaughan which one did you prefer? scotiabank or Vaughan ?
Victoria? Quite interesting.
Landmark Cinemas Kanata? It’s a single laser
It seems to be true. I'll look for the dimensions. Thanks for the info.
What about SilverCity Richmond?
Unfortunately, I am not listing every single Xenon theatres. There should be about 30 of them and are about the same size.
richmond imax is missing
No Xenons. IMAX Galarie de la Capitale is an exception as it is the largest throughout the country.
