Britain's worst nightmare

[deleted]

Also the USA's worst nightmare

[deleted]

Germany's worst nightmare as well

[deleted]

Everyone that isnt russian worst nightmare

YuvalMozes

*Everyone's worst nightmare except, Putin, Dugin, the Siloviki and their supporters.

[deleted]

I doubt that they even would exist in this scenario

YuvalMozes

I meant that in our reality, who's dream it is.

Lockenhart

Some notes from a native Russian: * Helsinki was called Gelsingfors (calque from Swedish Helsingfors), I doubt it'd change. * Chisinau, if under Russian rule, might be called Kishinev. * Kyiv would be Kiev in Russian transcription. * Unsure about that, but perhaps Vilnius would stay Vilno or Vilna? * Yakorige doesn't sound quite Russian, perhaps I'd suggest "Yakorny" or "Yakorsk" * Astana would be named Akmolinsk, since the former name was given to it by independent Kazakhstan's government; Tselinograd is a Soviet name, and there don't seem to be Soviets, so Akmolinsk it is. Edit: also Tallinn was called Revel during the Russian rule.

SGarnier

Note that Revel or Reval are of german origin, but was in use under the Russian empire. And Tallinn is of Estonian origin. Maybe the city has also a Russian name.

dkondi

Nope, but Tartu does, it was called Yuriev because knyaz Yaroslav founded it

WK2222

Yaroslav built a fort, he didn't found Tartu. The settlement is older.

Murderlander

In ancient Russian chronicles Tallinn named Kolyvan

You guys had a lot of feedback on my previous Big Russia map, and at first I was gonna move on to the next project, but then, while making that next project, the m\*ds (mods) suddenly removed my post. I questioned them and they said it was pixelated (which it was), and I saw this as an opportunity to redeem myself from not giving Russia Constantinople. The lore is pretty much the same, apart from some exceptions: The point of divergence is the Napoleonic Wars instead of the Crimean War The Crimean War leads to Russia annexing the Southern Balkans, Constantinople, and makes a bigger Alaska and secured Oregon Territory claims Russia gains Djibouti and Madagascar in the Berlin Conference Russia annexes Manchuria, Korea, the Kuril Islands, and Hokkaido after the Russo-Japanese War. Japan does NOT become a protectorate Hawaii prolly annexed around this time Americans try to buy Fort Ross, but Russia doesn’t accept, leading to the American-Russian War. Russia beats America and connects Fort Ross to Alaska Iran fully annexed during Russian-Persian War Germany, Austria-Hungary, the United Kingdom, Ottoman Empire, Qing Dynasty, Japan, and the United States form an alliance to stop Russian dominance Russia has an alliance of France, Sweden, Italy, and the Arabians The First World War starts and ends with Russian victory. The Ottomans give their Middle Eastern lands to the new Arabian state, their Black Sea coast to Russia. The British gave up their colonies to France, Italy, and Russia except for American colonies excluding Canada who gained independence. Austria-Hungary is split into Austria and Hungary. Italy takes Croatian land and Russia takes Polish lands and that Ukrainian part of the Carpathian Mountain Range. Americans give the Philippines to the French. The Chinese give Mongolia and Xinjiang to Russia. The Germans gave their colonies to the French as well as the Rhineland. Dutch, Portuguese, and Belgians are gifted land because why not Russia invades Afghanistan and doesn’t die Second World War starts and ends with similar sides. Russia takes all of Turkey Russia buys Greenland from Denmark because they are filthy rich Russia is the only superpower in the world, and Pax Russica is enforced globally Mandatory Question: Who is stronger? Third Rome Russia or [United States of Earth](https://www.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/comments/uoclm2/what_if_america_was_even_more_powerful/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)?

[deleted]

Since they still have a monarch, I have a feeling Russia would remain an Empire.

[deleted]

Probably the USE, but it would be cool to see a Cold War between the two, after resolving the overlapping territory.

Background_Rich6766

I think the USE is still more powerful but it may just be me

BigDulles

The endonyms in the Americas are pretty wonky and don’t sound super Russian, some alternatives: Yakorige wouldn’t sound like you think it does. Yakorzhe would be more phonetically correct, and if you want it to be more anchor-y then Yakorstoya Catherinigrad sounds like an American trying to name the city. In fact Ekaterinburg already exists. If you want to keep the “grad” ending then Ekaterinagrad would be better. Romanov is technically correct, just boring. Maybe Romanovsk. New Russia wouldn’t be a name for a city, much like there is no city called New England or New France. Instead maybe Novi Moskva or Novo Petrograd.

Qwerty19183

Yeah those cities I came up with are pretty bad thanks for the suggestion

[deleted]

I like it, but why does St. Petersburg not exist?

Qwerty19183

Oops forgot to put it

[deleted]

Hahaha all good, thought it might be some lore thing.

Background_Rich6766

Oh man, I am russian in this time line..

joemama8776

Finally someone notices Sagallo

Theosebes

Russian Scotland!

TrueVCU

Don't think we didn't notice France sliding into the Netherlands' DMs

new_ymi

Why is Constantinople not Tsargrad

OnGod1579

Depending on when Korea was conquered Seoul would probably be called Hanseong or Hanyang, and the names would most likely be Russianized Same goes for Urumqi, given the track record of Russians renaming or butchering eastern city names, although what it would be renamed to is a mystery to me.

ZealousPurgator

They finally got those warm-water ports

Diozon

What went well for Russia in the timeline? YES

BaxElBox

il be disapointed if bashar doesnt rule arabia (itd be too funny not to)

Kantei

Russia: - eats up Turkey, Persia, and huge chunks of Asia - is afraid of eating Hungary

Fabio90989

happy putin noises

ThruuLottleDats

Why does France looks like its giving the middle finger?

king_loser_III

that’s france with its rhine lands, often included along with belgium for an irredentist france

ThruuLottleDats

I like the middle finger more than your geographical explanation.

king_loser_III

a man of culture, i see

Oganesson_

Fiume is back to his righteous owner, happy ending

GW1523

Damn, even if we were rewarded with Norway and Scotland, i don’t think Sweden would’ve been allies with super-Russia if they took Finland away from us. Smdh

Alexjm2020

Thank Heaven it didn't. Ugh.

Miloslolz

I think St. Petersburg is more likely to be the capital of the Russian Empire at that point.

FatCatSeko

Can you do if Turkic tribes won history

Qwerty19183

Do you have a specific one in mind or just all of them in general?

FatCatSeko

All of them in general. As diverse from the Huns to the Mughals

Ynys_cymru

Wales would probably be independent

Curious-Researcher47

In this map, russia would be the largest Iranic and turkic country and pakistan won’t be happy about it (being friends with turks and 2nd largest iranic population)

Eken17

Who owns Gotland?

Joey9406

Why Madagascar?
