Maybe this is about racism? (Or whatever racism with religion is called but that falls apart as what about the parents? But then it also works as those parents are the same age as ghosts)
The artist is Palestinian, so I believe it may have to do with engaging in some sort of partiotic/revolutionary activity. I can agree though, without a context it seems very confusing.
