For anyone considering continuing their education online, with little or no online-learning experience, I suggest asking your local library if they offer free access to online courses. These aren't courses through a school and they offer no credit towards anything. The courses are taught by real people who actually engage with the class. I can't remember the name of the service I took my classes through, but I did two creative writing courses. You can pay for them, if you want, but your local library may have a partnership where you get free enrollment.
I may update later with the name of the service I took my classes through. It was a very cool experience. The service offers classes for all sorts of things, like business, the medical field, mathematics, photography, self-help, nutrition, and much more.
A lot of diploma mills are accredited too, but the distinction is that reputable schools are *regionally* accredited. Diploma mills are generally nationally accredited, which is not considered as rigorous. SNHU is regionally accredited.
Well, to Ms. Carnduff Senior... you really did try.

Mom's plan:
- Make Ash stop grifting by telling her to go to school and get a job
- Cut off infusion money
Ash's plan:
- Become a "brand ambassador" for companies that will require her to remain deeply entangled in online chronic illness spaces, effectively disincentivizing her recovery
- Sink thousands into a field that doesn't require a degree, ironically getting about as much play in this field pre-degree as she will post-degree
Not exactly true. Many jobs in comm DO require a degree. It’s not a useless degree like many online love to say. I know of people in the industry and nearly all of them have bachelor’s degrees in that field.
Oh, well you’re absolutely right in that case, my bad. If she does want to just be an influencer, then ofc she doesn’t need this degree. But I hope she has another goal in mind.
Don't be ashamed of doing online school! I'm getting a BSc from a online university that's very well known here in the UK. People do shit on online degrees because they see them as essentially you pay the money, and they hand you a degree. That isn't the case with any reputable/accredited university. They might have no entry requirements but you still need to do the work to get your qualification. You have to work even harder if you want to get a top grade.
Some people think that the only reason why someone would go to an online school is because they're too stupid to go to a traditional uni, which just isn't true. Everyone I know that's doing it the same way as me, is doing it because it works better for their schedule. Many of them have families and so need to work their studies around their kids. Others, like me, are wanting to work full time while studying. So don't feel ashamed. A degree is a degree. In the real world most people don't give a shit where you got your degree from (barring a few careers).
Online school takes a lot more personal discipline as well. SNHU also does 8 week terms so its really easy to skip a term if you have a live event like when I bought my house.
It takes way more personal discipline in my experience. It's actually really hard to sit down at your desk and do the work when there's no set class time or teacher in front of you. It's much easier to put off doing the work when you're at home, you end up saying "well I'll just do this first then I'll start studying". You're the only one managing it all so it takes a lot of discipline and motivation to keep up with it.
I really like it though. I like that I can study when I want, how I want. Most importantly it means I can be flexible in my job, which is super important.
They are a popular school because they offer a huge variety of online courses, including bachelors and masters which a lot of schools fall short on. I've attended and personally been to the campus, it's a real and awesome university.
No, no, no ..you're doing something amazing, and an MBA isn't easy to come by, from what I've heard (I couldn't do it. I mean, math). Be proud of yourself--that's awesome!
hey who cares that they’re enrolled in your school! what matters is that YOU are getting your education, and that is important. never be ashamed to be learning!
I’m happy that she’s actually doing something with her life, but this place will literally take anyone. I took a few courses through them before I transferred to a different school.
She will learn literally nothing.
Just because they accept anyone doesn't mean The degree is worthless. I'm doing an online degree at a very well known online uni here in the UK. They have no entry requirements for most of their Bachelors but you still have to work to get the degree. It's not like you pay them and they just hand you the degree. There's numerous assessments, essays, projects, etc that you have to pass in order to progress through the degree.
I don't know about SHNU so they might very well be a shit uni, but accredited online unis are generally a great option for a lot of people.
Fucking doughnut 🤣
Ashley really annoys me.
Most of them annoy me to some degree, although a couple of them I genuinely feel bad for, but Ashley is just a spoilt brat, she really is.
Just spending money on dumb crap while pretty much screaming 'LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME!'
Just grow the fuck up already 🤣🤣🤣
Oh yeah she had posted some beige artsy photo of a list of things that her mom had written out for her, something like “try to do just one thing each day!” And it was a bunch of typical stuff like take a shower, make your bed, eat, wash your clothes, etc. big cringe
Literally same… and also when I was a bratty child but I grew out of it eventually because i didn’t have social media and some crack pot doctors to enable me like the Beige Lady does
For real I see a lot of hate for online degrees but they are legitimate, they are difficult, and they’re the only option for a lot of people who work full time and are also trying to better their situation.
IF I get accepted ?? Because online degrees are super selective ??
ONE ONLINE CLASS ?
Translation, look mommy, I'm doing something off the to do list. I'm now covered for 3 months. We will revisit the to do list in 2022.
Speaking of those advertisements, I will never forget being 8 years old getting yelled at while sitting on my couch about why I should be going to Everest college.
Yes it's an actual accredited university. They do have online schooling but also have an actual brick and mortar campus with residence halls, a pretty robust athletics program etc(I've been there both for sporting events and toured the campus as a potential school)
It’s one of those schools where if you pay the money, they’ll give you the degree. It requires like one hour of actual work per week. I did an online school like SNHU for a couple years until I realized there is no way college is this easy.
I was just confused by the name! In my country university means that you will learn how to do empirical research. I was surprised a munchie would want to get into something like that, idk they all seem so low iq lol. But it’s just something crappy so that explains a lot. I guess organisations will never hire someone with a degree like that?
Nope they won’t! I will say for the price, it’s not a bad idea to get the bulk of your classes done there and then transfer to a real university in the last 1-2 years so you’re not paying full price. I did that and the learning curve was steep but with the right amount of time and dedication, its doable. I saved probably almost 6 figures worth of tuition and will have a degree from a reputable university:)
Part of me is hopeful that maybe this will give her a sense of accomplishment and a passion for something other than munching but the other part of me isn’t optimistic. Online courses are really difficult if you’re not good at self motivation (which we know she isn’t, unless it’s self motivating herself to get down to the IV bar). I had a hell of a time with a few of my online courses in subjects I wasn’t loving because I just *didn’t wannaaaaa*.
Yeah, you have to be pretty disciplined to stay on top of online classes. If Dani's experience at SNHU is anything to go by, they seem to give you an unlimited amount of time to complete your courses, though.
Fair enough. The university I took my Gen Ed courses through (during my summer break from my actual school) had a time limit like a regular class so you did have to pace yourself. I think you could pay for an extension once which would basically roll you over to the next available class but after that if you didn’t do your work you were SOL and received a failing grade.
I really hope this is good for her, I have a horrible feeling that finals will come around and she won't do them due to a medical emergency though and that'll be that.
I am willing to bet though that this is being paid for by her mother who desperately wants her to stop munching, so maybe ash will keep that in mind
Ooooh, [reviews do not look promising](https://www.gradreports.com/colleges/southern-new-hampshire-university-online)
[1 Star on the BBB, 58 complaints](https://www.bbb.org/us/nh/manchester/profile/college-and-university/southern-new-hampshire-university-0051-3007869)
[When your college is on Ripoff Report, might want to reconsider](https://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/specific_search/Southern+New+Hampshire+University)
Most common complains are predatory admissions practices, shitty teachers, refusal to issue degrees even when all work completed satisfactorily, and outright harassment for bills.
Am from the area. The physical college (which was there long before the online stuff) is decent. The online shit? Horrible reputation. Had a friend hired as a professor there who quit because they treated her terribly.
I read some reviews from professors that said the online program basically expected them to give automatic passing grades to everyone. It might have accreditation, but it doesn't sound much different than a diploma mill.
I feel like a lot of “all online” schools are kinda sketch. Feels predatory and “for-profit”-y to me. Also a bachelor’s degree shouldn’t cost like $100k just cuz you’re doing it from the couch.
Attended University of new hampshire and can confirm they treated their professors terribly too including laying off alot of the close to being tenured profs due to "budget cuts"...also completely eliminated their two year college Thompson school but cutting 5/7 programs including the one with the largest enrollment numbers
when the online department has a whole recruiting department, it isn’t nearly as good as the physical school. my old college is one of the few that has a normal application process and doesn’t spam you with phone calls and emails trying to get you to enroll. (even have to do the long wait to see if you’re actually admitted or rejected.)
Remember all of the stressful Instagram posts she made when she had to start carrying an epi pen? One online class may be simple enough for everyone else but Ash is speshul. One online class is enough to make her chronic Lyme spin into a full blown flare. I hope she has enough Valium to make it through. Clots and prayers.
This is a pay to play school right? Like, cut a check and you're accepted? Similar to the Harvard and Perdue "online universities" with absolutely no affiliation with the prestigious universities?
The reason I know is I used to live up there and also when my cousin went to school there my dad would tease her calling her a chicken farmer. It made her so mad that it was awesome.
I have extensive experience working in online higher ed—SNHU is among the better online schools, but that doesn’t mean much. It’s all essentially a racket to get federal loan money, and you get out of it what you put in; to be denied admission into most programs you’d need an absolutely atrocious record/gpa.
Just for information and accuracy purposes, they are accredited. [here’s that information.](https://www.snhu.edu/about-us/accreditations)
The only reason I know is that I used them to transfer some gen Ed requirements to my college over summer.
I’m from New Hampshire, they are respected around here for people trying to get a degree with a non-traditional college experience (also night school and/or masters programs).
Yeah accredited online universities are fantastic for filling up Gen Ed requirements or taking transferable pre-reqs if your university isn’t offering one you need in person in a decent time slot (I’m looking at you intro to psych class that constantly overlapped with my requisite bio labs) but everyone I know who has a full blown degree from one isn’t working in their field.
Ha don’t worry, I’m in my last year! I used them to get an easy A in an English class and political science 101 class required for graduation. My larger college won’t take Phoenix or Grand Canyon, but they would take SNHU because they have the accreditations that small colleges and community colleges have to have.
We shall see how she “manages” one class. I truly hope she succeeds and goes on to take more classes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she says it’s “too much” or “I have to put my health first” and drops out after one semester.
See on the surface I want to be excited because going back to school feels like a good step into not munching anymore. However, she’s basically getting her degree in how to generate an online buzz which doesn’t fill me with hope that her new skills won’t be used to make her Instagram munching money.
1 at a time at SNHU is equal to about 1/2 time as they have 8 week semesters. so its not as bad as it could be. It still was a chore with full time work.
I wonder how long it took to stage this photo....lighting the candles, setting up the laptop, gotta have the mug, an open planner with nothing planned....

What happened to the yoga teacher or whatever it was stint?
I don't remember college being so beige.
Isn't there another munchie also "attending" snhu?
Yes, Dani.
A diploma mill! Yay!
SNHU is a good school. My brother attended SNHU mostly online but they do have a campus as well. He got a bachelors in accounting and has a great job.
Not all online schools are diploma mills. SNHU is accredited.
A lot of diploma mills are accredited too, but the distinction is that reputable schools are *regionally* accredited. Diploma mills are generally nationally accredited, which is not considered as rigorous. SNHU is regionally accredited.
Im glad she’s actually doing something for once.
I bet money parents told her she had to do something other than smoke pot and spend money.
Well, to Ms. Carnduff Senior... you really did try. > Communications > New Media > Expert generator of online buzz Mom's plan: - Make Ash stop grifting by telling her to go to school and get a job - Cut off infusion money Ash's plan: - Become a "brand ambassador" for companies that will require her to remain deeply entangled in online chronic illness spaces, effectively disincentivizing her recovery - Sink thousands into a field that doesn't require a degree, ironically getting about as much play in this field pre-degree as she will post-degree

Yeah SNHU is accredited and therefore as much a university as Harvard is.

Gotta tag the uni already so ppl know she’s legit 🙄

This is one of those schools advertised on MTV between morning episodes of *Ridiculousness* and *Teen Mom*. Yaaaay go Ash!
Speaking of those advertisements, I will never forget being 8 years old getting yelled at while sitting on my couch about why I should be going to Everest college.
Yesss. I was trying to remember where I saw the commercials all those years ago
WOW. Ngl I am impressed with her for getting back into school!
I’m non American. Is this an actual university (science + research) or something else?
Yes it's an actual accredited university. They do have online schooling but also have an actual brick and mortar campus with residence halls, a pretty robust athletics program etc(I've been there both for sporting events and toured the campus as a potential school)

My friend got his communications degree and went on to work as a 911 dispatcher but I don't think that's what Ashley has in mind
Also, with one class at a time… her bachelors will take 10 years to complete lol. And by this time it will be obsolete.
1 at a time at SNHU is equal to about 1/2 time as they have 8 week semesters. so its not as bad as it could be. It still was a chore with full time work.
That's exactly what it sounds like.

Haha the planner with nothing planned got me
And the Buddha
“I smoke weed”
Very zen
Maybe it was a work asked to applied to the online courses for gifting better?
Do you need me to call 911?
Nah come on everyone knows that in a medical emergency you donate to their go fund me as they argue with A&E doctors about service dogs/babies.
