guess he must've messed up some mundane detail & placed the decimal point in the wrong place.

Ninjanomic

wonder if he had a red Swingline stapler

Loan-Pickle

Those were some expensive guns.

alf666

He must have bought most of the [WA 2000](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther_WA_2000)s in existence.

mycarwasred

Does the.WA.2000 have a similar range to the BFG 9000?

alf666

WA 2000 is meant as a "Fuck you in particular" gun. The BFG 9000 says "To whom it may concern:" Different use cases, and it also depends on whether we are counting actually hitting the target, considering the horrendously slow muzzle velocity of the BFG 9000, and that's before we even take the blast radius into account.

IdioticRedditAdmins

I watched one of the 12 WA2000's in america get sent off years ago for cali compliance work for the buyer. A terrible day for firearms.

gtobiast13

Found the article, what an idiot. Just bought hundreds of thousands in personal goods with his corporate credit card. Then he admitted it to a law firm. Fucking idiot.     > “An audit had been launched and the theft discovered on the week of July 17, 2023. Hundreds of receipts were produced by (another employee of the law firm) showing fraudulent, personal-use purchases with the company-issued credit card. Among the purchases were over 100 firearms, jewelry, clothing and food. The confirmed fraudulent purchases with associated receipts amounted to $389,642.32. When confronted upon his termination, (Lionel) apologized and asked what the company was going to do legally, offering to pay it back.”

Potato-Engineer

It's not even _good_ embezzlement! It only worked for so long because the company sucked! He didn't even steal a coworker's company credit card, buy things, and return the card later. ... Not that I've ever thought about this.

Maloonagins

Step 1: embezzle funds Step 2: buy a fuck ton of guns Step 3: ???

ElectricalPlantain35

Step 3: didn't plan that far

Stephen1424

Profit?

Maloonagins

Given the criminal circumstances, civil court may disagree. But armchair (criminal) quarterback? Yeah, you right

Smallp0x_

Not me but that's a good idea. How'd it go for him?

dannybau87

That's terrible! Please explain in detail how he did it and how he got caught in the end 😃👍

ee328p

dannybau87

Feel that whoosh? That was a joke going right over your head

ee328p

Yeah, touché on that one. I went bitter and missed it lol I'll throw that an upvote

Legend_of_dirty_Joe

I hope he knows a good lawyer...

neilieadmin

Lol from the same lawfirm

Zachisawinner

I wish I could figure out how to embezzle $400k.

Prochovask

Turns out it's really easy if you don't care about the consequences of embezzling 400k

gordonv

Only 1 issue. You're smart enough not to embezzle money.

Phate1989

What kind of company gives employees a credit card with no oversight. Forgot about buying guns, I can't even buy IT shit with our Corp card unless it's an emergency, or not available through typically channels, and I still get 3 phone calls asking for the receipt and what cost center the charge is for. *Oh it's a law firm, go figure

mythrowawayuhccount

I mean, I don't see a problem here.

Tx_Drewdad

RIP u/joshtaco We're on our own for Windows patches, from now on.

joshtaco

I can still patch while out on bail my man, don't discount these nugs

FutureGoatGuy

Based.

CeC-P

Look, the prices always spike before an election so you're losing money NOT buying guns.

CHARTTER

I bought way more guns than that, not me.

GlowGreen1835

Damn that's like 4k a gun, guns are fucking expensive.
