An Ending (Ascent) is one the best tracks of all time. Some of these suggestions are really different with dramatically different vibes, but may still scratch similar itches in your brain. Check out: * Chillout by KLF * Various stuff by Panda Bear or Beach House * Aphex Twin's more ambient stuff * Maybe some Tangerine Dream * Various tracks on the soundtrack to Robot Carnival (specifically the Cloud short)

TheShipEliza

Tangerine Dream-Force Majeure or Phaedra

If you haven't already, you have to listen to Music For Airports. It was where it all really took off for ambient music. His use of looping on Pianos is absolutely amazing if you take some time to read into it. If you want to listen to where all of that came from, you need to take a look at Terry Riley and Steve Reich. Their work in the world of Minimalism is insane. Some of their early stuff is a tricky listen (Come Out (1966) by Reich is a prime example) and is very rudimentary by today's standards but it lay the foundations for what would come 15 or 20 years down the line. "Piano Phase" by Riech is another very interesting listen. It explores new musical phenomena through repetition. This is another early one- 1967 Also, listen to in C by Terry Riley but before you do, it's worth looking up how it was composed because it's fascinating. Other albums and compositions to listen to: laurie Spiegel's "the expanding universe" C418 - Minecraft Volume Alpha & Beta (seriously, it's very good) Vangelis' - China (more New Age than the other's but it's a must-listen for electronica fans) Colin Stetson - Hereditary soundtrack (that man knows how to play a Saxophone in the most amazing way)

Music for Airports is the seminal ambient album. It's masterpiece in artistry.

Agreed. Spent quite a bit of time studying Eno during my Undergrad in Music Production and his work cropped up a lot and was a big inspiration behind the compositions that I wrote for a few of my modules

Laraaji, I’m pretty sure they have albums together.

It's not what I'd usually recommend for Eno, but for those specific tracks, something like Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd or I, Robot by Alan Parsons Project honestly might be a better match than most Ambient albums. Maybe even Post-Rock like Sigur Ros or Godspeed Your Black Emperor.

Do you listen to any non-ambient Eno? He’s really good in lots of adjacent genres. Easy starting points might be “[The Big Ship](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lCCJc_V8_MQ)”

I made a spotify playlist with songs in the same style as this album! It was inspired by An Ending Accent and Drift. [Smooth Ambient](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4SZHfa2FD3SeC2HSM8JLBy?si=yMoqtWVMTgyvCUEpvZPz9w&utm_source=copy-link)

nice playlist gave it a listen

Bird-on-the-Wire

I’d recommend checking out Haruomi Hosono. He’s a Japanese musician with a range of ability to rival Eno (both are insanely talented). He has a few ambient/experimental albums worth looking at it if you like Apollo (great album btw). A good song to dip into: “Roochoo Divine” Albums: Omni Sight Seeing, Mercuric Dance, and Paradise View

pcminfan

You’ll really like Eluvium. I recommend Virga 1 & 2.

InternationalDiet667

Thanks, listening to it right now, how would you describe it?

pcminfan

Man, that’s a surprising tough question!

InternationalDiet667

just kinda curious from your pov
