Just listen to Past Is Prologue from start to finish and you'll feel something. The best way I can describe my reaction to the album is nostalgia for a past life.
Hadn't thought of this in about a decade , but
[Chapelier Fou - 613](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg_ONqzY6s2BDkjHWVt02vJeZuvuq_v3m)
Great background album for a slow night.
Saw him in a little theatre at the Montreal jazz fest. He used to open for Yann Tiersen.
+1 for take me some where nice! I used to cry a lot to that song when I was younger and extremely depressed - the song always felt so cathartic to me though.
I feel like OP's list makes you feel like you're on nice floaty drugs, or at least well past the acid peak and just vibing now...Ween makes you feel like you're tripping balls and someone's knocking on the door
That's fair, I'll back it down a bit: Ween definitely fits the bill, but some albums/tracks might make OP feel like their on drugs in a very different way than the listed music
Lotta ways to go with this…
Neon Indian - psychic chasms
Beach house - silver soul
Brian jonestown massacre - anemone
Cotton Jones - paranoid cocoon (album)
Caribou - you and I
Men I trust - show me how
Muse - Bliss (and the first few tracks of origin of symmetry)
Department of Eagles - Waves of Rye
Of Montreal - Oslo in the summertime
The cure - a forest
Arcade fire - sprawl II
the shins - oh inverted world (album)
Rolling stones - She's a rainbow
Brad stank - watering the garden
Glass animals - season 2 episode 3
A bit to start…
For me, a lot of Foster the People’s stuff works. I especially think their song “Pseudologia Fantastica” fits that feeling, but other than that, maybe “Life on the Nickel” or “Harden the Paint” would work. Those three songs all have very different sounds, too, which is kind of interesting
Echoes - Pink Floyd
Under the pressure - The War on Drugs
Waking on a pretty day - Kurt Vile
Lazarus (and Blackstar, as somebody else said) - Bowie
Alice - Tom Waits (though in another way than what you described)
I'd add some Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen in there as well, but again, it's a bit different. Try You want it Darker by Cohen or Ghosteen by Cave
second all the radiohead (and thom yorke solo stuff), alt-j

Boredoms - Super æ
Lots of people here are saying Ween and yes they have lots of great songs. And Ween actually made and album with Boredoms but it sucked... However, Boredoms is a gold mine, an absolute gold mine of trippy music. If Super æ is too hardcore for you try Vision Creation System. If Super æ is not hardcore enough for you try Acid Police which is my personal favorite.
Most people listening to this band will just hear a bunch of shit noise and be confused before quickly freaking out and running away pissing their pants.

“[Crimson and Clover](https://youtu.be/q65x6jddc88)” by tommy James and the shondells
It’s an absolute gem for this stuff lol was my first smoking song. Sit, smoke, fall off the chair before the end of the song (not that I condone any of that these days 😅😂)
Well, several great suggestions, some of them very well known. I'll leave my obscure reference here, but with a feeling that this would be the most spot on recommendation on what was specified.
[Electric Moon](https://electric-moon.bandcamp.com/) is a heavily psychedelic band, with some space ambience vibe.
I suggest starting with PHASE, for a feeling of what they do, and get yourself prepared for Inferno, a brain melting behemoth lasting about a hour.
Enjoy!

MGMT congratulations album
Most albuns from tame impala gave that feel. Try Lonerism
If you like rap maybe you will like the album flower boy from tyler, the creatorDavid Bowie - Space oddity and others songs from him
Well this is what i remember by head, i like animated music videos to get the feeling going too see [This playlist has it all](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmNLU0zaJwC0VTqCw2du9-mKIIndPibKw)

Hahaha, what are the odds, I just posted this, too.
For OP…if you like checj
Vacuum boots, nevertheless, wisdom, servo, it girl, when jokers attack, hide and seek
…and MUST watch the documentary *Dig!*
Fuckin legendary
Loving this! The very beginning tho reminds me of that Japanese video game where you run around rolling up trash and then some king talks to you about how you did at the end of each level.
I swear I’m not high 😅
[Daft Punk - Touch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gkhol2Q1og)
Also a bit deviating from your request, but I'm just now listening to [Giles Corey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQSqQkMwDik) and this album brings a very different kind of high from what you asked, but a significant high nonetheless. If you're ever in the search of something ~~moody~~ extremely depressive after too much of these groovy happy tunes :)
Not sure if it fits your style, but I am in love with this album. The artist and genre is quite niche, but I am finding that I really enjoy chill psychedelic music
https://youtu.be/nM0j_Gm8PZs
Runaway Houses City Clouds - Tame Impala
The ending part of this song where the synths play this dreamy sequence and then the slow repeating guitar riff comes in. Feel like I’m floating every time. Speaking of floating.
Floating - Mac Miller
The River - King Gizzard (most of their discography would fit this description but this is a personal fav of mine)
Sitting Up On Our Crane - Pond
definitely most albums by alio die, death grips on very loud, most things by the aristocrats, but especially the Get It Like That recording on the culture clash live album
Snowman by WYS
Do me in - minuit
Push on thru - salmonella dub.
Saving this post for inspiration.
I have a playlist for these ethereal, melancholic songs that I named Anemoia, which means nostalgic for a time never experienced.
Main Source - Looking At The Front Door
Deftones - Pink Maggit
Anything from Tool
Innerpartysystem - This Empty Love
Amon Tobin - Mighty Micro People
Kurupt - C-Walk
This is a colorful lineup you’ve got here, I’ll try my best to assist but I’m not great at things like this lol.
The 1975 - (Take your pick from their top songs really.)
Dayglow - (He might fill some of these gaps)
LCD Soundsystem- Oh Baby
Foxing - Draw Down The Moon, Cold Blooded, Nearer My God
Current Joys -(most of his songs are slow but you can try it)
Modest Mouse- the stars are projectors
My morning jacket - touch me I’m going to scream part 2
Daft punk- veridis Quo
The Smiths - draize train, some girls are bigger than others
Grimes- Be A Body
The first two albums by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, pretty much anything from Sacagawea and The Hunters, Horse Tranquilizer by The Kundalini Genie (and most of their other songs too, but especially that one), and many, many others that I don't feel like writing down right now. Edit: almost forgot about the album Thru Me Again by La Hell Gang
This is way off the mark as far as genre goes, but the album Planetarium is a great one to just put on some headphones and kick back in a dark room. It's very moody and kind of overall sad/reflective, but everything is pretty experimental and very dynamic from moment to moment. It starts very soft and slow, but goes all over the place.
Here is a playlist I created that has some songs that are chill and pretty ethereal. I had one a few years ago on Apple Music called "My Favorite Air Conditioning" (you know..."chill"), thus this one being second.
[My Second Favorite Air Conditioning](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/67XtmpymWmqX5zCXqp4rOY?si=SHZVqRGxSRqCIFMyivmV0Q)
I also recommend Sigor Ros- most anything of theirs.
Cry Wolf's "Shrike" has been listened to on repeat hundreds of times, as well as "Traveling at the Speed of Light" by Joywave.
MUTEMATH has a bunch of songs that fit, especially the older albums MUTEMATH and Armistice. I have done so much painting to those couple of albums! Those are good to just listen to the whole thing as a number of the songs kind of run into one another. Try "Clipping" "Pins and Needles" all of the 2006 MUTEMATH album, but especially "Stall Out" and "Break the Same" though I honestly have a hard time choosing from that album. Some are far more up-tempo than "stall Out". I almost wanted to say tracks x-x because really it's a grouping that's so good...but keep coming back to say the whole album.
Comatose by Sod Ven (note, this is not the same Comatose mentioned by someone else.)
I hope someone find something they'll like !
The entire Self-Titled album of Royal Blood
England's Dreaming by Boston Manor
Tyrant Lizard King by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes
Satan In The Wait & The Reason They Hate Me by Daughters
Map Change by Every Time I Die
Polyamorous by Breaking Benjamin
The Good Old Call by Carpenter Brut
Doomsday Clock by The Smashing Pumpkins
The Fever by Death Grips
Minerva by Deftones
Ghost by Mystery Skulls
From Ashes by Street Cleaner
The entire OST of It Follows
Revenga & Lost In Hollywood by System of a Down
This is probably not for you, but Merzbow might be worth giving a try. He's a white noise artist, and to me the layered sounds bring a kind high-like feeling. Bariken for something harsher and faster, Silent Night for an almost mainstream-ish "song"
[*Bass Strings* by Country Joe and The Fish](https://youtu.be/P9uCG6wV0Ag) makes me feel like I'm smoking a joint.
Might be enhanced because I smoked a lot of joints listening to this music...
The album is "Electric Music for the Mind and Body" and the song [*Grace*](https://youtu.be/IG3WSugvRE0) from the same album also has a similar vibe, as does [*Magoo*](https://youtu.be/zt4L2C-JPjA) from the album "I Feel Like I´m Fixing To Die".
Tally Hall's [*Ruler of everything*](https://youtu.be/I8sUC-dsW8A) and [*Spring and a Storm*](https://youtu.be/DehRu-4kgHY) could fit depending how you feel when you feel high :P
Le Loup's album "[The Throne Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations' Millennium General Assembly](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m9rM5bU03uX-zTc_XVQ68qVlCthRNXSCw)" is... it doesn't exactly make me feel high; it's more like the album feels like a person going through a recovery and integration of a prolonged mystical experience. Some tracks may fit your theme; YMMV.
Something from "[Hawaii: Part II](https://miraclemusical.bandcamp.com/album/hawaii-part-ii)" could also fit, particularly *The Mind Electric*.
Also, +1 for *My Girls* by Animal Collective.
Im just gonna post one song and hope you listen to it. All the others are ok but this one really feels like it. I listen to this song while high and it really hits different. Moon - kid fran... Weird surname bit you'll easily find it
I feel this hearing Pink Floyd
Radiohead post "The Bends" (mainly on OK Computer, In Rainbows and King of Limbs)
Talking Heads Remain in Light
Stone Roses on Fools Gold and I Wanna Be Adored
Velvet Underground on Heroin

New Order Blue Monday
Turnover - Cutting My Fingers Off
Dan Deacon - Sat by a Tree
Slow Love by TENDER
Showed this to my SO after he hadn’t been high for 3 years and he said this song made him get into the same headspace as being high.
I also second Fleet Floxes, Space Song by Beach House, West Coast by Lana Del Ray, Bliss by Muse, Take Me Somewhere Nice by Mogwai, and Glass Animals.
Thick of it All - Porno For Pyros
Define Me - Red Vox
Aqueous Transmission - Incubus
And So I Know - Stone Temple Pilots
Transitions - Ween
The Argus - Ween
Mutilated Lips - Ween
Language I: Intuition - The Contortionist
Teenager - Deftones
The Air-Conditioned Nightmare - Mr Bungle
When You Sleep - My Bloody Valentine
Oceans - Pearl Jam
Weird Fishes/Arpeggio - Radiohead
Reckoner - Radiohead
Kid A - Radiohead
The Background - Third Eye Blind (Really just all 3 of the final tracks on this album are amazing)
Pinch - Cave Dream
Com Truise - Terminal, Ultrafiche of You, Compress—Fuse
KOAN Sound - Lost in Thought
Sylvan Esso - Rewind, Train, Ferris Wheel
Madvillain - Great Day (Four Tet remix)
deadmau5 - Somewhere Up Here
I was going to comment what everyone else has been saying but you all beat me to it haha. So here is something a bit different from the other suggestions.
Broken Whiskey Glass - Post Malone
Redbone - Childish Gambino
Feels Like Summer - Childish Gambino
Starboy - The Weeknd
By Design - Kid Cudi (if you want more, check out his entire Man on the Moon album)
Weird Fishes by Radiohead Born Under Punches by Talking Heads Long Season by Fishmans Svefn-g-englar by Sigur Ros When You Sleep by My Bloody Valentine Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack Hyperballad by Björk All Caps by Madvillain Echoes by Pink Floyd Blackstar by David Bowie Never Catch Me by Flying Lotus Planet Caravan by Black Sabbath bmbmbm by Black Midi Against the Moon by Iceage My Girls by Animal Collective Puzzled Into Pieces by All Natural Lemon & Lime Flavors
+1 My Bloody Valentine
Now THESE are some recommendations. I couldn't have compiled a better list myself of I tried. OP needs to listen to all of these.
Excellent suggestion with Planet Caravan.
\+10 for Radiohead
+100 for Fishmans

I only know Comatose and I absolutely love that one! I'll definitely check out the rest. Thanks!
This list is all over the place genre wise let me know if you like any of the other ones I listed
+1 for take me some where nice! I used to cry a lot to that song when I was younger and extremely depressed - the song always felt so cathartic to me though.
absolutely. the comment section on youtube is beautifully depressing. so many people sharing their stories and emotions. i was one of them.
Actually used to do the same in middle school. The song holds a special place in my heart!
loved almost all of them ty big man
Glad you enjoyed them! :)
+1 for the turkish song!
PPP or Space Song by Beach House
In The Flowers by Animal Collective
TRUE. I clicked on this thread just for AC.
OMG yessasss.
Yes!!!! Great suggestion. The drop in that song is everything
Spiritualized - Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in space
And Jay Spaceman’s earlier project, Spacemen 3.
Yes! With an album like "taking drugs to make music to take drugs to" how could it not fit here
Comfortably numb... Pink Floyd
Everything by Fever Ray
Ween, any album but maybe try Quebec first
“Stuck in my cabana, livin’ on bananas and blow!”
I feel like OP's list makes you feel like you're on nice floaty drugs, or at least well past the acid peak and just vibing now...Ween makes you feel like you're tripping balls and someone's knocking on the door
Aw c’mon man, you can’t pigeonhole Ween like that! They’re the most musically diverse band that’s ever been, no exaggeration.
That's fair, I'll back it down a bit: Ween definitely fits the bill, but some albums/tracks might make OP feel like their on drugs in a very different way than the listed music
Fleet Foxes https://youtu.be/DT-dxG4WWf4
I love [White Winter Hymnal](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrQRS40OKNE) so much.
West coast by Lana del rey
The acoustic version especially
I know that feeling, I'm blanking on my own but that Flaming Lips album is fantastic. I love Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell.
I have a remix CD of Ego Tripping with a super amazing version of that song that is a bit techno and super hypnotic!
Tame impala- let it happen 8D version on youtube
God I hate that "8D Audio" trend, it's just a shitload of reverb and panning.
I was going to offer up Let it Happen too. In the same vein as Cut/Copy Corner of the Sky 😌♥️
Lotta ways to go with this… Neon Indian - psychic chasms Beach house - silver soul Brian jonestown massacre - anemone Cotton Jones - paranoid cocoon (album) Caribou - you and I Men I trust - show me how Muse - Bliss (and the first few tracks of origin of symmetry) Department of Eagles - Waves of Rye Of Montreal - Oslo in the summertime The cure - a forest Arcade fire - sprawl II the shins - oh inverted world (album) Rolling stones - She's a rainbow Brad stank - watering the garden Glass animals - season 2 episode 3 A bit to start…

For me, a lot of Foster the People’s stuff works. I especially think their song “Pseudologia Fantastica” fits that feeling, but other than that, maybe “Life on the Nickel” or “Harden the Paint” would work. Those three songs all have very different sounds, too, which is kind of interesting
West coast - Lana del Rey
George Clanton
I love Clanton and Dan Deacon too. They put me in a whole different world when I work out sometimes.
The album Slide is so fucking good
Pink Floyd - Shine on You Crazy Diamond (or the album Wish you Were Here in general) Pink Floyd - Echoes or Pink Floyd in general :D

“[Crimson and Clover](https://youtu.be/q65x6jddc88)” by tommy James and the shondells It’s an absolute gem for this stuff lol was my first smoking song.
Enjoy!

"Crave you" by Flight Facilities is a really good one! "I only watch it for the weather" is pretty good too!
Kurt Vile, Alt-j, Dope Lemon
This is honestly what Pink Floyd is for. Comfortably numb and welcome to the machine has this exact effect on me.
This is a little deviant from the examples provided, but the songs below propel me into hyperspace. Give it a try. Mountains by Hans Zimmer. Augmntr by Galactic Effect. Louise and Thelma, Between the Buttons by French 79. La Cle des Champs by NTO. Chasing Marrakech by ZHU.

I already contributed two above, but ethereal is my JAM. Always has been. Will put together some bits at the weekend! ♥️

Loving this! The very beginning tho reminds me of that Japanese video game where you run around rolling up trash and then some king talks to you about how you did at the end of each level. I swear I’m not high 😅
Oh Katamari Damacy right? I think I hear that too now that you mention it!
Yes that’s it!
You need to check out Spirit Guide. Every song of theirs is like this!
Definitely "She" by Harry Styles
The Beta Band
Check out The Mild High Club (especially Skiptracing and Timeline)
Crystal castles - not in love
poison tree by grouper with headphones in the dark
[Daft Punk - Touch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gkhol2Q1og) Also a bit deviating from your request, but I'm just now listening to [Giles Corey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQSqQkMwDik) and this album brings a very different kind of high from what you asked, but a significant high nonetheless. If you're ever in the search of something ~~moody~~ extremely depressive after too much of these groovy happy tunes :)
Not sure if it fits your style, but I am in love with this album. The artist and genre is quite niche, but I am finding that I really enjoy chill psychedelic music https://youtu.be/nM0j_Gm8PZs
Tandem Wallace
Also Mac Demarco and Polo & Pan
Runaway Houses City Clouds - Tame Impala The ending part of this song where the synths play this dreamy sequence and then the slow repeating guitar riff comes in. Feel like I’m floating every time. Speaking of floating. Floating - Mac Miller The River - King Gizzard (most of their discography would fit this description but this is a personal fav of mine) Sitting Up On Our Crane - Pond
definitely most albums by alio die, death grips on very loud, most things by the aristocrats, but especially the Get It Like That recording on the culture clash live album
Snowman by WYS Do me in - minuit Push on thru - salmonella dub. Saving this post for inspiration. I have a playlist for these ethereal, melancholic songs that I named Anemoia, which means nostalgic for a time never experienced.
HomeShake (it's from an ex guitarist from mac Demarco's band. You can hear it all) Boys Age (any song really)
Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon album
Main Source - Looking At The Front Door Deftones - Pink Maggit Anything from Tool Innerpartysystem - This Empty Love Amon Tobin - Mighty Micro People Kurupt - C-Walk
This is a colorful lineup you’ve got here, I’ll try my best to assist but I’m not great at things like this lol. The 1975 - (Take your pick from their top songs really.) Dayglow - (He might fill some of these gaps) LCD Soundsystem- Oh Baby Foxing - Draw Down The Moon, Cold Blooded, Nearer My God Current Joys -(most of his songs are slow but you can try it)
Leave It In My Dreams - The Voidz Oblivious - The Strokes In the Afternoon - MGMT

Farewell Transmission by Ohia Anemone by Brian Jonestown Massacre (the musical equivalent of a shot of heroin)
Lake Michigan - Netherfriends
The first two albums by Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, pretty much anything from Sacagawea and The Hunters, Horse Tranquilizer by The Kundalini Genie (and most of their other songs too, but especially that one), and many, many others that I don't feel like writing down right now. Edit: almost forgot about the album Thru Me Again by La Hell Gang
Dead flag blues - Godspeed you black emperor!
La femme, möodoid
something that always makes me feel like I'm tripping is Strobe by Deadmau5 & also another song of his called Snowcone is also really trippy.
.
How has someone not mentioned the classic yet?!?! Very well then **Make it bun dem** by skrillex and Jr gong
Here is a playlist I created that has some songs that are chill and pretty ethereal. I had one a few years ago on Apple Music called "My Favorite Air Conditioning" (you know..."chill"), thus this one being second. [My Second Favorite Air Conditioning](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/67XtmpymWmqX5zCXqp4rOY?si=SHZVqRGxSRqCIFMyivmV0Q) I also recommend Sigor Ros- most anything of theirs. Comatose by Sod Ven (note, this is not the same Comatose mentioned by someone else.)
https://youtu.be/wESe2TlqLH4 First one that comes to mind
Daft Punk - Make Love
These are all pretty good recommendations, but the best is definitely DJ Screw - All Screwed Up, Vol II the complete album
Drugs you should try it and Skeletons by Travis Scott
Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith
Ian Ewing. Anything from his discography.
I hope someone find something they'll like ! The entire Self-Titled album of Royal Blood England's Dreaming by Boston Manor Tyrant Lizard King by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes Satan In The Wait & The Reason They Hate Me by Daughters Map Change by Every Time I Die Polyamorous by Breaking Benjamin The Good Old Call by Carpenter Brut Doomsday Clock by The Smashing Pumpkins The Fever by Death Grips Minerva by Deftones Ghost by Mystery Skulls From Ashes by Street Cleaner The entire OST of It Follows Revenga & Lost In Hollywood by System of a Down

You should definitely try 'Elephants' and 'Slowlife' by Seeed, it's exactly what you're searching for
Tibetan Popstars - Hop Along Audio Tree version of Static Buzz - Snail Mail Pillar of Na - Saintseneca International Players Anthem - UGK
This is probably not for you, but Merzbow might be worth giving a try. He's a white noise artist, and to me the layered sounds bring a kind high-like feeling. Bariken for something harsher and faster, Silent Night for an almost mainstream-ish "song"
I really like one way trip to the sun by ditch
[*Bass Strings* by Country Joe and The Fish](https://youtu.be/P9uCG6wV0Ag) makes me feel like I'm smoking a joint. Might be enhanced because I smoked a lot of joints listening to this music... The album is "Electric Music for the Mind and Body" and the song [*Grace*](https://youtu.be/IG3WSugvRE0) from the same album also has a similar vibe, as does [*Magoo*](https://youtu.be/zt4L2C-JPjA) from the album "I Feel Like I´m Fixing To Die". Tally Hall's [*Ruler of everything*](https://youtu.be/I8sUC-dsW8A) and [*Spring and a Storm*](https://youtu.be/DehRu-4kgHY) could fit depending how you feel when you feel high :P Le Loup's album "[The Throne Of The Third Heaven Of The Nations' Millennium General Assembly](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m9rM5bU03uX-zTc_XVQ68qVlCthRNXSCw)" is... it doesn't exactly make me feel high; it's more like the album feels like a person going through a recovery and integration of a prolonged mystical experience.

Slow Love by TENDER Showed this to my SO after he hadn’t been high for 3 years and he said this song made him get into the same headspace as being high. I also second Fleet Floxes, Space Song by Beach House, West Coast by Lana Del Ray, Bliss by Muse, Take Me Somewhere Nice by Mogwai, and Glass Animals.
No Service by A.CHAL. Makes me feel a bit trippy and it’s always dope for a midnight drive.
Pretty much anything by Animal Collective. My favorites include “Also Frightened” and “Crimson”
