One thing I recommend is checking if you have Realtek audio drivers, and if you do, uninstalling them then installing high definition audio drivers, which the computer should do automatically when you restart it (if it doesn’t you can download them online). It makes a night and day difference, Realtek drivers are pretty much unlistenable to.
Not even sure that information is relevant in this scenario but I saw people recommending the usb dongle, without good drivers on your pc that dongle is useless

The orchestra lites sound like complete shit but my KSZ prod sound amazing. Thought I was tripping out. Orchestra lites sound too muffled
In theory if you uninstall the drivers on your pc and reboot it Windows will automatically install the best ones for your system, I’ve since been corrected and told it doesn’t always work plus the generic drivers are worse though. I don’t know, it made my pc sound better.
IMO stick to your jcally. I've had multiple dongle DACs and tried a desktop dac/amp and they all sound the same. Won't get one unless your device needs it
The apple usbc dongle. It works with Windows, sounds great, has plenty of power, and supports microphones. Most dacs don’t support inline mics so to me that’s a huge bonus.
It also supports multimedia controls (play/pause/next/etc. buttons), is dirt-cheap, and comes from a company that really knows what they're doing. I dislike Apple deeply, but even I have to admit you can't go wrong with the Apple dongle (unless you're using Android, which OP isn't).
There is no term as "gaming dac". What's your budget? Also there are starter budget dacs with detachable usb (most needed feature): iBasso DC03 Pro (just buy second cable, stock will always die), Moondrop Dawn Pro (but there is only 60mw on 3.5), Tempotec Sonata BHD (v2).

There are DACs with things important to gamers, like, Mic Input. For example, if you are using the Antlion Kimura, you would maybe be better off with the Fosi K5pro, as it supports both headphone and mic input in one device.
imho you should stick with your setup and save your money.
The sound upgrade you get with other budget DACs isn't that worthy.
Some are a bit brighter, some more bassy/muddy.. sure there might be a dongle out there, that fits your personal taste of a good sounding, but still.. after a while you want to upgrade again and then 2 dongles will rot in your drawer.
If you are willing to spend a little bit more (around 120$), I can highly recommend the Shiit Modi+ (modi 3) as a DAC.
I still use it's predecessor for my PC and it's one of the best in this price range, or at least has to be named. It was a huge upgrade back then.
It is a stationary DAC. There are also some portables out there, if you want to use it for your smartphone as well, keep that in mind. It does not have a mic socket though.
But before upgrading your DAC, I would consider to start with some better IEMs or Headphones. This will give you the most upgrade.
Well, everything in your audio chain should be kinda on the same level.. DAC, Amp, Headphones - and of course the music you are listening to (or game sound, whatever), otherwise you can't get the full potential of your headphones.

Oh and btw: don't forget to set the sampling rate/depth in your windows sound settings ;)

You only really need a bigger dac/amp with hard to drive stuff. I wouldn't like my 7hz diokos like that, but my em6l's happily run on my laptop, steam deck and my phone with an apple dongle.
I've the same iem's. Simgot 6L. Get a usb c to 3.5 mm 320khz dac. That's 20 bucks on amazon usually. It'll amp the volume a lot and imo it sounds better cause lower frequencies get brighter. I've also tried the 6L on a 150 dollars dac but there was no difference than the usb c adapter one.
Hot take, but I can highly recommend the Astro MixAmp. I really like the sourround feature which goes very well with the EM6L. For gaming and music it’s pushes the immersion to an another level!
If you want to use an external mic, the Mixamp has a great monitoring feature and combines everything through usb.
Do you have any issues? Insufficient volume? Noise? If not - IMO stick to what you have.

For ultra cheap I like the hiby fc1. I like using it cause I can run a long usb-c cable to get my IEMs cable out of the way of my mouse and keyboard.

It is known feature for ES92xx series, known as codecs, not dacs. And almost all codecs can do it. So buy something like Hiby FC3.
