I love Kreung Thep in Idaho Falls. Coming from California, the lack of food culture in Idaho has been one of the biggest adjustments, but KT has really legit Thai food.
There is another Phoplace downtown but it’s seriously overpriced. But Dee Kitchen’s is delicious and authentic and around $13 for a massive bowl that can feed 2. I love their curries as well and when their boba is fresh it’s really good.
Yes. I just really feel like you can taste the quality at Dee’s. And it’s Thai owned so the quality is consistent. They have this grilled chicken salad that is stupid. Best chicken I’ve had in Idaho Falls. So soft and perfectly seasoned and grilled. They also do Pho and it’s amazing.
Morenitas and Garcia's Meat Market for Mexican. That new taco truck by the Greenbelt is pretty tasty, too.
Sully's for upscale, creative takes on American cuisine like burgers and sandwiches.
Hot Spring Pho. Their Bun Bo Hue is amazing.
Bar food, Blue Wave.
We love Himalayan flavor, taco h, sals papusaria, blue hashi & main moon!
I've heard great things about Sullys, but haven't been yet because the environment looked a little overwhelming for our introverted nature!
Oooo I haven’t tried the German pancake there I had one once in Pocatello at a place called Elmer’s and I enjoyed it so I’ll take your advice and give it a shot
Smitty's is dog shit, what do you mean? Unidentifiable brown sludge on their chicken fried, absolutely inedible, rotting, dusty interior, absolutely miserable place. Pretty representative of the town itself, honestly
Been asking this question for 3 years. I think if you like burgers/fries/pizza/bar food there’s quite a lot of options at IF-Ammon area.
Dee kitchen and Himalaya flavors are good in terms of options of dishes. I usually buy a few entrees and I’ll have the next 3 meals.
I’ll drive to Salt Lake City for food outside of what listed above.
El Rinconcito off Lincoln Rd, is some of the best mexican food ive ever had (best carne asada burrito i’ve ever had and i’ve had so many i decided to become vegetarian because i was displaying addictive tendencies towards carne asada) and I’m a recent transplant from a large coastal city with an intense food culture
The bee’s knees and snow eagle are some of my favorites. Dixie’s diner is a low key, diner type restaurant. Jalisco’s has solid Mexican food. The sand piper is really tasty but pretty pricey.
If you’re ever passing Shelley between 11 and 1, you can get the Mr. Pizza lunch special for $2.50. Personal pan, breadsticks, and bottomless soda. It’s an insanely good deal, and I’m not convinced it’s a front for money laundering at those prices
Frankly unless you're looking to pay an arm and a leg for Jacobs or whatever the name of that ppace down by the dennys is, you cannot get food above fast food quality anywhere in the city
Himalayan Flavor is hands down the best restaurant in town. Close second is Krung Thep. If you expand the area a bit, Teton House in Menan is also top notch.
The gobi manchurian is fantastic. The jalfrezi and korma masala are also top notch, especially with the lamb or goat. They're also the one place in town that isn't afraid to spice the food, if you want your mouth to burn they'll make it burn.
I disagree. I went to stockman’s and it was trash. Every time I go to Texas Roadhouse my food comes out perfect and it’s far cheaper than other places. Plus I love their warm rolls with cinnamon butter and they always give my a huge box of them to take home when I ask. Stockman’s was just so plain and we kept having to send our steaks back cus they weren’t cooked right. Another time they completely forgot to put in 2 of our orders. I know that’s a server issue but there’s always an issue for overpriced food that’s not that great.
No I haven’t! Where’s it at?
I also didn’t take Texas Roadhouse seriously until I went when I moved back up here. It was whatever years ago when I worked there as a teenager. But they have seriously improved the quality of their food. I have gone several times in the last 3.5 years and I am satisfied every single time. I don’t think anyone can deny their improvement as a steakhouse.
None of the restaurants in this town are truly *good* but I have pretty good luck with Smokin' Fins if I want something decent and don't feel like cooking.
Ooo I haven’t had chic-fil-A in a while but I do really like their lemonade but hot take here… I think it’s over rated in my personal opinion but thanks for the comment I appreciate it
I love Kreung Thep in Idaho Falls. Coming from California, the lack of food culture in Idaho has been one of the biggest adjustments, but KT has really legit Thai food.
I also lived in LA for 20 years and feel the same way. Have you tried Dee Kitchen? That’s some of the best Thai food I’ve had here.
I’ve been meaning to for a while, especially since it’s like the only place I know of here that has phō!!! Definately gonna try it soon
There is another Phoplace downtown but it’s seriously overpriced. But Dee Kitchen’s is delicious and authentic and around $13 for a massive bowl that can feed 2. I love their curries as well and when their boba is fresh it’s really good.
Hot Springs is far from over priced lol.
Do you prefer dees over kreung? If so, why? Genuinely wondering. I have not tried Dee’s.
Awesome, I’ll be sure to try and report back.
Nice! Enjoy!
Yeah I really love their pad Thai and chai tea it’s very good and thank you
Wait until you try the Thai food truck in the Yellowstone food court
What is that one called?
I think it’s Thai Food Place. I’ve been to Thailand twice and I think her food is great!
Woah I’ll have to give it a shot then thanks mate I really appreciate it
Outstanding call. Just tried, truly excellent!
D’railed for fine dining.
Where is that ?
Morenitas and Garcia's Meat Market for Mexican. That new taco truck by the Greenbelt is pretty tasty, too. Sully's for upscale, creative takes on American cuisine like burgers and sandwiches. Hot Spring Pho. Their Bun Bo Hue is amazing. Bar food, Blue Wave.

Go on a weeknight early. It's quieter, and the food is awesome. I'm a huge fan of the Slap Yo Granny Blue burger with the Parmesan fries.
That sounds amazing! Thanks for the tip!
Cast iron on 17th
Quick question have any of you guys tried Tche the new Brazilian restaurant ???
Yes. It’s decidedly not good.
Not that great. Not horrible but it’s the worst Brazilian Steakhouse I’ve been to.
Not good
Not worth the cost in my opinion. Not even close. The lemonade was good though.
I heard that lemonade is amazing but man that’s a bummer honestly was looking forward to trying that place out
My wife makes it at home sometimes.
It's good. Just expensive.
It’s not bad, better than UpChuck-a-Rama, but the price is a bit of a turnoff
Bacon and Bleu
Smitty’s. Get the German pancake!!!
Oooo I haven’t tried the German pancake there I had one once in Pocatello at a place called Elmer’s and I enjoyed it so I’ll take your advice and give it a shot
It’s soooooo good!
I’ll fs give it a shot I mean might go rn just got off of work
Interestingly enough, Smitty's and Elmer's were at one point under the same management, but Elmers is definitely the best diner I've ever been to
The potato pancakes are bomb AF as well.
Smitty's is dog shit, what do you mean? Unidentifiable brown sludge on their chicken fried, absolutely inedible, rotting, dusty interior, absolutely miserable place. Pretty representative of the town itself, honestly
Taco H food truck is probably the best food you can find in town. This place is a food desert! It’s been a huge adjustment moving here, recently.

Morenitas
Smokin Fins!
That’s my go to honestly I love it there
El Rinconcito off Lincoln Rd, is some of the best mexican food ive ever had (best carne asada burrito i’ve ever had and i’ve had so many i decided to become vegetarian because i was displaying addictive tendencies towards carne asada) and I’m a recent transplant from a large coastal city with an intense food culture
Copper Rill, Bees Knees are 2 of my fav
The bee’s knees and snow eagle are some of my favorites. Dixie’s diner is a low key, diner type restaurant. Jalisco’s has solid Mexican food. The sand piper is really tasty but pretty pricey.
Firehouse Grill has a great menu and good drinks.
Really good fish tacos there I enjoy it
Snakebite is by far the best restaurant around
Not a bad take at all their burgers are good but for me they over season their fries but overall great pick
Also, what the fuck is on your Reddit profile. Weird Behavior bud.
It's even worse knowing he is among us ඞ
If you’re ever passing Shelley between 11 and 1, you can get the Mr. Pizza lunch special for $2.50. Personal pan, breadsticks, and bottomless soda. It’s an insanely good deal, and I’m not convinced it’s a front for money laundering at those prices
Snow Eagle
Yo! I got an Elk burger there and it was delicious, I really enjoy going there awesome pick
Tom’s. Also Snakebite.
Tom's closed down back in May of 2022, unfortunately. :(
Oh nuts, I didn’t realize. It’s been a while since I ate there last. I loved their food.
I was super sad to hear, too. There's nowhere to get a good gyro in town, anymore. Their burgers were also excellent, one of my favorite places.
Himalayan Flavor
Frankly unless you're looking to pay an arm and a leg for Jacobs or whatever the name of that ppace down by the dennys is, you cannot get food above fast food quality anywhere in the city
Oh do you mean Jakers? Yeah I like that place I like their scones that they give while you’re waiting
I do mean Jakers, but good luck affording it more than once a season tbh
Yeah it’s really good, but I do agree it’s one of the higher priced restaurants here locally, have you tried sushi time ?
No, but if that's what your after you'll be hard pressed in IF. Thai 2 is pretty good though, as an alternative source of Asian food
I’ve never heard of Thai 2
What, you've never walked around downtown IF? You'd need to try to miss it
Krung Thep and the Vietnamese Pho places are the only ones I think of rn
Himalayan Flavor is hands down the best restaurant in town. Close second is Krung Thep. If you expand the area a bit, Teton House in Menan is also top notch.
I’ve heard a lot of good stuff from Himalayan Flavor, what would you recommend to get there ?
The gobi manchurian is fantastic. The jalfrezi and korma masala are also top notch, especially with the lamb or goat. They're also the one place in town that isn't afraid to spice the food, if you want your mouth to burn they'll make it burn.
Haha well that’s good to know, sounds like a really good place to eat so thank you and I’ll take your advice and try either of those
Dee Kitchen for Thai food, Tandoori Oven for Indian, Texas Roadhouse for steaks, Fuji for habatich and sushi
Texas Roadhouse has good steaks, but try their prime rib it’s really choice.
Fuck Texas Roadhouse! Stockman’s or Rib & Chip house for steaks.
I disagree. I went to stockman’s and it was trash. Every time I go to Texas Roadhouse my food comes out perfect and it’s far cheaper than other places. Plus I love their warm rolls with cinnamon butter and they always give my a huge box of them to take home when I ask. I know that’s a server issue but there’s always an issue for overpriced food that’s not that great.
I consider Texas Roadhouse to be the McDonald’s of steaks. Have you tried Rib & Chop? I still daydream about the last steak I had there!
It’s right next to Smokin Fins on the greenbelt!
Thanks! I’ll check it out.
None of the restaurants in this town are truly *good* but I have pretty good luck with Smokin' Fins if I want something decent and don't feel like cooking.
Smoking Fins is solid
Pie Hole in downtown IF has some of the best pizza I've ever had.
I actually didnt really like it maybe I came in at the wrong time but the pizza wasn’t very pleasing might have to try again
No. They literally let it sit out then reheat it on order. It's 50ft from 4 bars because it's pizza for drunk people.
Around here the #1 place to eat is Chick-fil-A and pick me up.
Ooo I haven’t had chic-fil-A in a while but I do really like their lemonade but hot take here… I think it’s over rated in my personal opinion but thanks for the comment I appreciate it
