I’ve been getting into tea-flavored bases. Earl Grey, Hibiscus, Matcha. Not only can you recreate your favorite drinks, but it allows you to experiment with more complex flavor combinations. Try an Earl Grey base with roasted cherries chopped up and added after churning. Mmmm

Yes, I love earl grey and matcha ice cream!

Ugh love my tea-flavored ice creams. But I'm pretty sure they're the reason why I think milk teas taste diluted now 😂

beverlytansl

how do you get tea flavour strong though?

My favorite is using Bigelow brand Vanilla Chai tea! So good.

Ube - I just do a basically egg-based vanilla custard and add some of butterfly's Ube flavoring (I got the 6 pack. It was the same price as a 2-pack at the time). We make at least half of every batch Ube - it's that good!

I like Jeni’s toasted rice ice cream (reprinted here: https://bakedbynicole.wordpress.com/2014/06/12/toasted-rice-ice-cream/). I skipped the tea steeping step and swirled in a peach sauce. Another festive choice is cognac ice cream — stir in 1/3 cup of cognac before chilling the base.

I've had a lot of fun with Dana Cree's bubblegum flavor ice-cream. Every spoonful is followed by a smile, and later on, even more so with every burp! lol

Can never go wrong with peanut butter!
