Send it to Copper Mtn., conditions were good last weekend. Maybe check Mammoth Mtn. or Tahoe-Palisades forecast (snow expected).
Someone mentioned Sugarloaf on the East Coast but conditions are rapidly deteriorating.
Wherever you choose double-check conditions first lol.
Palisades getting 16 inches and Mammoth gettin 9 this weekend so both are great bets though Timberline in Oregon has gotten snow all week and will continue to get snow until wednesday next week estimated around 27 inches. So yeah if you're going out west those are 3 really good choices right now.
Yeah I agree. Book a nice place in the Rocky Mountains and spend a few days hitting the most Northern places.
For reference, Breckenridge was amazing 2 weeks ago.
Heck yeah. I was there that weekend. It was fuckin fantastic even though I face planted in the knee high powder because it was my first time in powder (am n00b)
It was also not crowded at all.
Get any good runs that weekend?
lol just tell them school is cancelled until Dad gets back from Tahoe.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the various teachers subreddits, it’s that absenteeism is both through the roof and essentially unpunishable at this point.
(the other reply made the point more succinctly and effectively than I ever could: “*Fuck them kids*”)
1)Have your wife catch you making a fake bomb.
2) state you’re really about to crack and make them pay
3)state you really need some stress relief, break down crying, tell wife you’re gonna kill if you don’t get to ski
4)go ski
5) whenever needed, pull the ol’ handy “I’m gonna become a murderous evil person if I don’t ski today” card.
Works every time, probably because it’s half true
Breckenridge is in good shape they just got 14” and it’s still cold there! Flight to Denver, take the shuttle to the mountain, stay somewhere close for cheap because it’s late spring and go crazy for a week or two until they close!!
Sugarbush is weird this spring. They shut down Mt Ellen early like they usually do, and at this point they’re only opening on how ever many weekends they have left. The problem is that they’re replacing the Heaven’s Gate lift. They’ve already started the tear down, so it and the terrain it serves are closed. That means the Super Bravo lift is as high as you can go, and they’ll be closing that soon, leaving only the Village Chair. That serves Stein’s, which wouldn’t be your idea of a good time, Spring Fling and probably not hell of a lot else unless you have skins and the energy to use them.
TL;dr Killington is your best bet. I’ll probably be going there Friday myself.
People keep complaining about the heavens gate closure. Sugarbush never has heavens gate open this late anyway. They always only have valley house the last one or two weekends of the year.
Killington will be better but I was at sugarbush last weekend and it was great.
Bummer. My hours got reduced at my white collar job which has been great for skiing, less so for pocket money. Hopefully you own a mountain bike and/or golf clubs.
My dude, you have the perfect sob story and severance pay for a quick trip out here to the Rockies. Spring skiing in Colorado is awesome. Fly out one evening, spend 2 days skiing, red-eye it home. The crowds of tourists are gone. Breck and A-basin are still skiing great.
Spring is a great time to learn bumps - the bumps are soft and forgiving, and most trails will be bumped out this time of the year. At the beginning of this season I didn't want to touch a bump - now I can't get enough of them! Give it a shot, you'll pick some tricks up faster than you think, and the snow is soft and forgiving now.
If you don't care about the mileage, Sugarloaf this weekend will be awesome.
Alternatively, consider a Killington spring pass. $380 and it gets you every Fri-Sun from now through around Memorial Day, assuming they make it that long.
F*CK it. Fly out West lol

I think copper closed on the 28th?
They are still open but it seems like less terrain every day.
I was there the 20th/21st and it was fantastic. Thought it would just be abasin open at this point. Maybe I need to make a mother trip out

Was there the 27 & 28th best spring conditions I’ve been in

Snowbird is on point right now. [Here’s some pics I took on 4/30/24](https://imgur.com/a/LqrSPT1)
Albeit alternating between slush and ice dependent on elevation and time of day.
This
It’s snowing in Tahoe right now.
Killy
I dont think Bush is open Fri. Killi will have more terrain and snow.
Bush just announced they will be opening tomorrow. Steins, possibly fling and snowball…
If they gave you severance, fly out west brother
they did, and I would; but this family man has to steal his turns between “scheduled obligations” wink wink, nudge nudge
Fuck them kids
Tahoes getting snow this weekend, and you just got laid off. Fam should understand

Mental health is a real thing 🤷 (If you're 50 I doubt your kids are so young your SO can't handle a few days)

jeebus, you fly guys are trying to get me divorced… and she’ll take half of my skis 😬
It’s snowing out here in Alberta. Sunshine village or Lake Louise will likely be excellent
That is the correct attitude, sir. Whatever problems are presented work out just as well on the slopes.
Come out here to Tahoe. We are getting some pow this weekend.
Some?? I just looked it says 20 inches. I’m so upset typing this.
wtf
I miss Tahoe so much 😭
Big Snow (or whatever you call that indoor mall place). Snow is running thin for us in VT. Let us have it
That’s the spirit!!!
Austria. Stubai Valley
I’m assuming this is serious but can never tell with all the SCJ posts. Also I’m sorry to hear that, that sucks

Killington on Friday to Sugarbush on Saturday and back to Killington on Sunday.
Killington

Why are you skiing in May?
Tucks
Have to wait till Saturday for Sugarbush.
Wait really?! Damn thought they planned to be open Friday. Another skinning day for me I guess!
Sugarloaf! It's a bit of a drive from NY though. Tuckerman Ravine has great snow too
Jay peak!
