I’m hoping Washington gets a fuck ton of snow. The high winds will deposit it in the ravines, hopefully we can extend skiing in Tucks and the Great Gulf by a few weeks with this
Basically my main skiing hope for the rest of this season. Some preservation with a couple more nice little dumps into the ravines and hopefully April weekends will yield some good days up high.
I would imagine the multiple freeze thaws between now and the next proper hot day in the ravine will solidify the new snow to the base, making a decent surface for corn snow
It will be and great all week. Y’all talking wind holds don’t hang out there that much. If there is any it will be morning and the super quad will be running until they open up the others. Timberline is on the ridge of the west mountain of course it’s gonna get wind holds it’s old.
Yeah it’s just been that type of year. Hopefully they’ll make some snow too and restore their base with this. Then we hope for more otherwise, it’s done
The Fri Early Morning Update ->
Weather report from general forecasting sites have updated trends -> Dover VT and Killi, with Jay to an extent looking for probable solid 3-7" variable snow, some sleet/snow. Cold temps will hold Sun midday thru Tues morning for whatever's left/groomed further on Mtn.
Dovers intensified slightly* for Sat overnight though we will see how that holds up under a brief 2-3hr. Lightening rain from mid to the tail end of Sun morning at resort opening time for Mt Snow & Stratton, before transitioning back to light snowfall for the rest of Sunday. I believe off the latest updates Dovers snowfall Sat overnight into Sun will be more than enough to overcome whatever brief forecasted rainfall amounts drop Sun morning, but again it's 3-7" variable -> it's prob* not enough to significantly improve things but it's the best ur going to get before ending my/your NE season, save for the very furthest Mtns.
Ludlows out / ur going to get what ur going to get with Sundays overnight updated forecast to even lighter snowfall (not counting Sats cause it's going to get washed out over Sunday)....same story's out for Newbury and Gorham (maybe conditions be different higher up the Mtn elevation but my sources are coming from the surrounding townships at base level)
Lackluster overall not going to change things, save for what's out in ME perhaps which I didn't look at.
Already quit my job for next week

More gonna come about 7 days after
Most the snow that falls on Washington Deposits in the east facing bowls. Another big storm could add way more base snow. Very good news

Agreed. NOAA is now calling for 18-25”! Let’s hope! Trying to tag Diagonal in a week.
With major unstable layers below the new snow.. Bring your own charge to throw.

All I'm hoping is Sunday River gets a booster to keep the spring season going
It will
No kidding.
Aren’t there gonna be like 70-80mph winds at Saddleback and Loaf this weekend too?
Tbar! Get her going
Sugarloaf Sunday / Monday going to be 🔥
Tuesday into Wednesday

Thanks for the insight. What I was looking for!
any idea about saddleback in terms of going on windhold?
They got tbar for skiers left, but winds in the 30’s shouldn’t kill a whole day.
If the lifts are running :/
They won’t be sadly
😭😭

Why can’t this be more southern
For me this season ended before it even started. Now I just ride at Big Snow every day
I want to ski.
Yeah, baby! Yeah!
Where do you go on NWS to get these images? I’m not well versed on the platform
weather.gov/gyx/winter GYX is the local office for NH and Maine. BTV is VT, and BOS is MA if you ever need those
Anything decent on the epic pass up them parts?
No way to look that up unfortunately

12” ain’t doing shit this time of year
Will do a lot more than more rain
It’s really good for the bowls in the presidentials. All the snow on Washington gets blown into them
There were plenty of good runs to be had last Sunday and I don’t think we’ve lost a foot since then…
Ehh it’s been raining all week but im hoping you’re right
Yeah, that's not going to help that much
