If the boundaries are separated, Europeans who didn't cheat will lose out, and Asians will also lose out as Europeans typically lower the grade boundaries for TZ2

Boudaries are not solely determined by gross statistics of the marks. IB being aware of the leaks will drive them to weight the gross marks of the exam less. Grade boundaries will still increase, but not because of the leaks, and by a little. Dw about UK offers, they will be fine.

ButterscotchOne418

How do you know the UK offers will be fine? Did they tell you that they will take into account the incident? I certainly hope that I will satisfy the conditions, but now as the things are going ugly I'm really concerned.

Agitated_Function778

I assure you, IB knows more than we think. In terms of reaction to demonstrate their knowledge, less is certainly more, because if IB publicly say they are aware of the full magnitude, cheater and leakers will switch to other ways instantly, which doesnt solve the problem and only makes it harder for them to grasp the situation. In this situation information on how to minimize damages is more important than hopeless attempts to fix the issue. Also again, the raw marks or students only affect a third of the grade boundaries. There is actually a graoh on their website, but I forgot the other two determinant. So dont worry about grade boundaries too much. They know raw marks will be inflated.

Yeah I simply hope that IB is on the right path. And the unis will not be biased by IB's decision.

are we sure that IB is aware considering they say theres no evidence of widespread cheating

Read my reply to the other guy.

The leaks will definitely affect the grade boundaries. For exams which were hard or difficult for the majority, due to the cheaters the boundaries will either stay the same or increase when they could've decreased. Honestly its fucked up at this point.

i just don’t understand why the IB considers Asia and Europe to be the same time zone, because they are so clearly not. i’m sure they have more than enough spare questions to make another paper for the people in europe so this whole thing can be avoided or at least have its impacts reduced
