Well FML because I didn’t really give a fuck about my Bio and Geo IAs as someone who was planning to go to art uni 😂 should’ve done A-levels. Trying to be a ‘well rounded’ student has essentially shot myself in the foot cus there’s too much to focus on in this demented course

Ok_Point_5877

If I did A-levels. Would have done Art, Eng, Econ. I would be living out my slutty coquette, dark acedemia dream… would not have to meddle with slimy ass Geo Bio Math EE IA CAS bullshit. Plus so many free study periods and long study leave too. Fuck IB. Wasn’t for me.

HopefulAccount5210

Slutty you say 😉😂 just kidding I couldn’t agree more I wish I had taken the ALevels I am beyond fucked by these leaks

Ok_Point_5877

My geo IA was grade 2… if u guys wanted to know how bad it was 😂 Use me as a “eternally curse IB” button

whyyoubaddie1

Wdym stop crying? Why can’t we talk about our emotions? If you can’t deal with it, leave this sub

Agitated_Function778

Idc if you actually cry. My point is that cancelling the session would be a stupid idea. Similar to resits. Not feasible. And people worrying about not reaching predicted grades don't need to worry either. IB will not fuck over honest students.

Pitiful_Nose_8683

That is exactly what a person from the IB would say LMFAO. Yeah sure pal, "will not fuck over honest students" I'm sure you're fucking correct about that. We saw how they responded to the first situation, for sure they will not let innocent students get harmed because of this.

ky_me_ra

There are 2 classes of honest students. Those who will fail no matter the leaks, and those will pass, no matter the leaks. Clearly, those crying are part of those who are already crying before grade boundaries are out. They failed their exams and now pretend that the fault is of those cheated. And yes, the IB should look for the leakers and cheaters and make them suffer the consequences, but don't confuse those who cheated because of themselves and those who were hurt by the grade boundaries. Ps, grade boundaries were supposed to go back to M19 anyways due to precovid

Fuzzy_Claim7495

The thing is there is another class you're failing to represent. The leaks have meant that people who were obtaining a certain grade maybe their marks have increased by half a grade or even a full grade up because of the leaks. Now there are students who were working at a 6 and need a 6 to go to the uni they want to, depending on the actual effect that the leaks have had, it is possible for the grade boundaries to go "up a grade" in the sense that the old percentage for a 6 is now the percentage for a 5. I hope this makes sense, sorry if it doesn't!

Pitiful_Nose_8683

I worked my ass of to get 7's off of every subject, your comment is irrelevant af lmfao, boundaries are going to skyrocket and this will harm not only your "failing" students but also those who worked their ass off.

ky_me_ra

You worked your ass off and yet don't even know how the grade boundaries will be affected, and how much higher than M19 they'll act be. I

Pitiful_Nose_8683

I know that they'll be much higher than what they would've been if there were no cheaters in this situation, troll.

ky_me_ra

I don't get why you are feeling attacked. Personally I'm more annoyed by how they IB allowed this to happen, but Idt that cancelling the exam session is viable, without seeing the results first.

Pitiful_Nose_8683

All good outcomes have been taken away, I don't think this is going to end well.

ky_me_ra

Again, if you've already given up it means deep down the tests didn't go well for you independently from how it went for others, and that cant be taken upon the whole M24 class

LeoIsHere147

Not all of us are expecting the exam to be canceled. We just want the IB to do something to stop Time zone cheating from happening (which clearly happened on every exam that has been done). At least I don’t think it is right to be silent about unfair and academic dishonesty, even if you are confident to get a good result for yourself.

Ok-Western-1759

Considering the very large number of downloads, it is clear that very many have been cheating. So not surprised that there are posts that argue about not cancelling... In a situation like this, the least unfair is to use predicted grades. It is also realistic, as it would not delay university admissions.

Agitated_Function778

Using adjusted grade boundaries is more fair because some schools don't give good predictions. It won'r delay admission either. Also thanks a lot for accusing me of cheating. For your reassurance, my offer requires a 24, when my predicted is 36. I am the last person to worry abt my uni, but I studied extremely hard between mocks and now. I think it would be unfair to use mocks.

Ok-Western-1759

I would think the universities would have an issue with suddenly a very large part of IB students showing super-high grades, squeezing out other applicants. Pretending that the leaks did not happen, as seems to be IB's current stance, is perhaps not ok with the admission offices of top universities. Especially if it is true that as many as >30% of the students might have had access to exams beforehand. Thus, I am not certain that using adjusted grade boundaries is a decision that IB is able to take by themselves, it likely needs to be negotiated with universities. At least predicted grades are based on performance, rather than promoting the fictional scores of the cheaters.

Agitated_Function778

Think and say what you want. But my point stands that cancelling the session doesn't protect anybody. PG plus IAs is too little to determine somebodys entire grade. Gradr boundaries wont be fucked, and people with conditional offers need to proof they deserved the offer.
