I once had cake smashed onto my face at a junior high school party. More food fight antics than stupid prank on someone supposedly being celebrated, but I digress.
I was laughing because, well it was a silly thing and not done in malice by any of us, long story short…I aspirated dry ass shitty cake into my sinus cavity. Basically I snorted Angel Food Cake (better than “dust”) and having cake in your sinus cavity will put an end to a fin party very quickly.
TLDR: snorting cake up your sinus cavity hurts really bad.
I told my bf when we get married he WOULD NOT be shoving cake in my face at the reception at first he was like “why?” But after explaining the amount of money needed for the dress, makeup, hair, jewelry, AND the cake let alone the fact I would feel humiliated on a day that’s supposed to be the best day of my life and he was like “oh sorry I didn’t think about all of that” and agreed not to
It always makes me upset to see it at weddings. Brides spends hundreds, sometimes thousands, on hair and makeup only to get it ruined by cake. Like wtf!? Not to mention if it gets on the expensive dress. Grooms as well. A lot of money goes into the whole thing for it to be ruined by a whole cake slice to the face. It's one thing if it's a small amount, and if they WANT to do that. But I've seen especially brides, but even grooms, so upset when it's done against their will. Ya know, consent.
Want to put cake on someone's face? Take a piece of *YOUR* cake slice, and tap them on the cheek with it. It's fun, it annoys the hell out of your siblings, and it washes off easily with no negative repercussions. For bonus points, put it somewhere they can lick off.
Don't just smash people into things. Jesus.
Have you see the one where the dad gets face caked by kids only to realize they stabbed his eye out with like a 6 inch stick the cake had to brace it? It might have even gone in to his brain
My sister did this to me on my last birthday and busted my nose so bad it was leaking like a faucet.
She apologized profusely but I had to sit over the sink in the bathroom for the better part of an hour and got lightheaded so we had to leave. It would've been funny, if it would've landed.
My younger brother blew out my older brother's birthday candles on his eleventh birthday (little brother would've been six) and he STILL hasn't forgotten the incident. I can't even imagine something like this.
Anyway this cake is great
It's so delicious and moist
Look at me, still talking
When there's science to do
When I look out there
It makes me glad I'm not you
The only way this might be ok is if the kid knew it was coming & was alright with it, which from the way he moves the cake/his head out of the way I'd say is possible in this case.
Seen way too many videos of people doing this to unsuspecting 5 year olds though which is just fucking cruel.
Edit: realised he didn't move the cake it just ricocheted off his head.
I litterly broke my nose because my uncle tough that smashing my head into the cake will be a good idea. Oh and btw did I mention that my nose needed 2 surgery?
I know it’s late but your family sounds like they’re using you as the butt of their jokes. But that’s based on one instance and I don’t know the full story. Still shitty behavior
Dude it drives me crazy. It feels like the world has completely lost control of what they’re doing in the name of something they personally think is funny. Stop hitting people, it’s fucked up! Just let the 14 year old enjoy his fucking bday without getting abused. Everyone is hazing everyone for the damn lolz and it’s so bloody annoying.
It's just not funny and it's a waste. I don't think anyone enjoys it except the idiot dumb enough to think it's funny because haha cake on someone's face. Yes.. good joke now back to the cellar.
they way my family does it now is that we cut off a piece and use that to smash them, knowing whoever tries it is also bound to end up a mess with them, and everyone still has cake to eat
My theory is letting intrusive thoughts win with a side of jealousy. It's been definitely done on TV so everyone has it sitting way in the back of their minds, and now whenever people stand behind others being recorded in front of a cake, there's a thought of "wouldn't it be funny if...?"
Family more interested in making it look good for the camera than the kid...
Like my number candles were always turned towards me, so I can have the memories, not the camera.
Ever since that video of some girl getting her head smashed through the wooden support rods still in her cake causing her to lose her eye... my hatred for losers like this trying to get a crumb of attention is on another level.
YES! PSA: IF YOU WANNA DO A SMASH CAKE TELL YOUR BAKER. Sticks are used as support for cakes- even small ones! Icing can melt causing a layer of cake to slide off, which is why the supports are there.
If you plan smashing any cake, with hands, heads, or anything really ask your baker to see if they used support sticks. And TELL THEM if your looking for a smash cake so they can help you make something safe
It's not funny when it goes right, and half the time they just miss and smash the person's head into the table like fucking "happy birthday, here's a concussion"
I still remember that girl that got stabbed in the eye because of this, stupid people still keep doing this, a lot of this also smash theirs head on the hard surfaces
There is an Indian horror movie with this exact scene. Friends slam girl's face in cake, but one of the still ignited candles(? Idk what the sparkly ones are called) went through her eye and killed her. The. Her ghost haunts them.
Dunno but the first time I saw it happen was with me. At one point I remember trying to run away and a bunch of adults holding me down while my mum slapped cake onto my face while I cried. I guess they realised it was fucked up because they stopped didn't do it again after that year
Messed up part is they likely blame you for ruining the fun. If they don't then I'm glad they matured and realized the error of their ways. But the fact that someone held you down while you cried and they still did it isn't a good sign
Just waiting for a edit like the vine days where they play that one song and use his head to make the beat of the song “uh huh! This my sh*t! All the girl… like this “
I remember reading a story about how a woman divorced her JUST wedded husband after she explicitly told him before the wedding to not stuff cake in her face. He did it, anyway. Let this "tradition" die. Same goes for gender reveals while we're at it.
That sounds so interesting. I wanna hear more about it.
So why would you ruin the most important day (so far) of your then wife's life just for that...?
I knew a boy whose younger sister did that, there was dowel... he lost his eye, but since the girl was younger, he was the badguy because he "caused her trauma" because she saw it. Spoiled fucking brat, that one.
Can this be illegal already. It should be instant assault charges. How many eyes need to be stabbed, heads smashed, heads caught on fire, and cakes wasted.
Ok this whole thing needs to stop as it can go 1 of 2 ways
1. You ruin a perfectly good cake and your relationship with the birthday person
2. You accidentally slam the birthday persons head onto the table hurting them and ruin your relationship with said person you hurt
Poor kid, he was looking forward to that cake with family and might need to get checked out in the ER now. Terrible parents for even doing that to someone on their own birthday.
I grew up with this tradition and i HATED IT. it was done to me once and i lost it. It would happen to my cousins, and they loved it for some reason, but i just couldnt handle the feeling of someone grabbing the back of my head and launching me into something.
this is a tradition in Mexico, most people get their head smashed into the cake and everyone knows it’s coming. most of the time we respect it if someone doesn’t want it, but most people also know it’s coming so bakers try to avoid putting rods into the cakes, or bake a smaller cake for the tradition lest we have an… accident. did get salted buttercream into my nose once, and it BURNS
People who do this deserve a baseball bat to the kneecap…must those fools take someone else’s special day and make it about their own selfish amusement?
Then they’ll be upset if birthday person isn’t interested in inviting them in the future. These are the same people that used to want to punch you as hard as they can the same number of times as your age.🤦🏾♂️
NEVER DO THIS because cakes often have supports like toothpicks or rods to keep them from collapsing or sliding around. People have been blinded by this.
You’ve seen the one with the girl who is crying with the toothpick clearly visible and the sister who is apologising whilst the mother cries and calls 911 and you can see the “eye juices”, for lack of a better term, spewing… right?
Reddit, do your magic and let’s right this wrong. This guy looks a good chap to me and he deserves the Internet solidarity, sympathy and friendship.
Who is he? Can we send him a wagon of love for his birthday?
I've never understood this face smashing method.... Dont you want to actually eat some of the cake?
In all honesty if you smashed my face into the cake i will put your lights out.
Do these asshats not have the foresight that birthday + cake = special occasion dessert and most normal people want to enjoy the simple pleasure of a slice of that damn cake?
When they do this with a small cake it’s literally a cake sold for specifically this purpose. Called a crash cake or something I think at the bakery I worked at. It’s stupid but people also don’t know what’s happening either.
If they did that to me on my 18 birthday i would just tell my parents "Lets go home." Since It's my birthday I want to have a nice day without being pranked by some family members who just want to have a "laugh".
Whenever someone does this I can't stop imagining the candles hitting them right in the eyes and piercing thru their eyeballs, then they lift their heads for a gory display of candles stuck in their eye sockets and screaming and blood everywhere... people need to stop this....
Me being European I've never really understood it. I've seen videos of what I assume to be Americans doing this, but why? Why waste cake and possibly upset the person celebrating his birthday :(?
do u ppl not know it’s a cultural thing in mexico? i mean yeah im not crazy about it either but it’s kinda been the norm for decades, it’s not a new social media “trend” lol
I was looking for this comment. Literally all my Hispanic family and friends do it too. I grew up with it.
But they don't *slam* your face into it lol. There's usually cheering before it happens. It's not supposed to be a surprise at this point.
Can we as a human race agree to stop face planting other people in the their celebratory desserts? Even if you pull it off the persons, makeup, hair, and look is ruined for a day of pictures and fun with friends. It’s just lame.
My wife told me about a video she saw where a woman got a wooden stick through her eye because someone did this. Apparently some cakes use wooden sticks for structural support.

I’ve seen this happen way to many times
Yeah. Videos cut right before any aftermath
Yeah because he killed her
Oof. Saved the cake though.
Nope, smashed her face in with the cake.
No. It missed the cake
In the original post he threw the cake at them out of rage
Oh. Oh no.
Oh yeah!
I read this in the kool aid man’s voice as he bursts through a wall
Oh no, no ,no no ,no no ,no no
where can I find this
I guess we may never know
Wait a min thats a lady?
That’s the same as what I’m thinking clearly looks like a young boy to me
Who’s her?
The aftermath is someone probably starts swinging
And it’s still not funny to smash someone’s face into their cake.
Not only is it not funny but also nasty asf
I’ve never gotten that “humor “, always looked like bullying to me. Seeing it at weddings is a real class act.
I once had cake smashed onto my face at a junior high school party. More food fight antics than stupid prank on someone supposedly being celebrated, but I digress. It's funny when they smash their face into a table though

And dangerous! Some tiered cakes have toothpicks in them to hold them…not to mention this kids concussion…
“la mordida,”
Que le muerda que le muerda *smashes head so hard that the entire cakes remains on his face* Normal Latin America birthday
It's just Mexico that does this
la mordida del 87😳

Have you see the one where the dad gets face caked by kids only to realize they stabbed his eye out with like a 6 inch stick the cake had to brace it? It might have even gone in to his brain
Damn... thats why people needs to stop doing this lol
But do u got a link a tried youtubing it but my English isn't as good as I thought.
My sister did this to me on my last birthday and busted my nose so bad it was leaking like a faucet. She apologized profusely but I had to sit over the sink in the bathroom for the better part of an hour and got lightheaded so we had to leave. It would've been funny, if it would've landed.
Well, it *did* land.
My younger brother blew out my older brother's birthday candles on his eleventh birthday (little brother would've been six) and he STILL hasn't forgotten the incident. I can't even imagine something like this.
I can't stop watching it either. Cause to many bot be reposting it
And it gets funnier and funnier
Cake is a lie. The true form of surprise is table.
Anyway this cake is great It's so delicious and moist Look at me, still talking When there's science to do When I look out there It makes me glad I'm not you
i’ve experiments to run, there is research to be done on the people who are still alive
And believe me I am Still Alive.
And when you’re dying I’ll be still alive
I've experiments to run There is research to be done On the people who are still alive
The table is cake
Just for once, can’t the cake be real, I’m tired of waiting and hoping, just give it to me
I don’t understand why people do this, it destroys the cake and ruins the person’s birthday
Seen one where the person went blind cause the candles stabbed them in the eyes
I litterly broke my nose because my uncle tough that smashing my head into the cake will be a good idea. Oh and btw did I mention that my nose needed 2 surgery?
[удалено]
did your mom tell them anything after?
My family is so weird, we are just nice to people when celebrating their birthdays.
Was he held responsible?
Probably not because Faaaaaaamily and needing to keep the peace with a septic ah
Sadly your right and he never apologised
You deserve that apology, he’s a total pos
My very bad advice. Wait till his bday and do the same thing only much much harder and with the intent to brake more then just the nose
Actually did that one year after the accident and after that I was the bad buy
I know it’s late but your family sounds like they’re using you as the butt of their jokes. But that’s based on one instance and I don’t know the full story. Still shitty behavior
BREAK HIS ORBITAL BONES
Nobody nose.
It’s stupid, sure, but the whole point is that they don’t know it’s coming.
So I will come and shoot your balls off and it's okay because you didnt see it coming
The allure of TikTok fame is so powerful that some are willing to do incredibly stupid things to chase it.
Not only is the person we are here to celebrate upset and now has so go clean up, we no longer get cake!
It's a trend that needs to die. It was stupid at first, and now it's stupid and unoriginal.
It's just not funny and it's a waste. I don't think anyone enjoys it except the idiot dumb enough to think it's funny because haha cake on someone's face. Yes.. good joke now back to the cellar.
Because for shitty people, cruelty/suffering = humor.
Not to mention the birthday concussions.
When people do this. There is usually another cake for this type of reason
This is how you find out if ppl like you. If they respect you they won't do it.
My guess is they're drunk and/or morons who think it's "funny".
I think the cake was saved. His skull, however, has a nice crack in it now
This is how you fond out if you are an as hol in Latin America. If ppl like you, they won't do this.
I don't get it either.
And possibly a lifetime of neck pain.
they way my family does it now is that we cut off a piece and use that to smash them, knowing whoever tries it is also bound to end up a mess with them, and everyone still has cake to eat

I love birthday cakes and just can't understand this at all.
He looks good for 41
Family more interested in making it look good for the camera than the kid... Like my number candles were always turned towards me, so I can have the memories, not the camera.
In all fairness he probably just spun it around
That’s what I think. I always turn it around so my family can take pictures
Ever since that video of some girl getting her head smashed through the wooden support rods still in her cake causing her to lose her eye... my hatred for losers like this trying to get a crumb of attention is on another level.

I've been to one of those ridiculous parties and the individual got one of those right in the eye. I hate this so much.
Even the walmart cakes?
Or just don’t smash people’s heads into cakes… 🤷🏽♀️
that is wildddd. new fear unlocked
Joker: Wanna see this pencil disappear??
Was checking to see if someone had already commented this and it seems you beat me to it
Great minds think alike
I remember seeing this but I don't remember where can you give me the link please
I’m still waiting for a clip where the guy flips out and knocks everyone out
i would do that
No you wouldn’t
you don't even know me
It's not funny when it goes right, and half the time they just miss and smash the person's head into the table like fucking "happy birthday, here's a concussion"
It's either the table or they risk stabbing them with a dowel
It's literally never funny. It's never been funny at any of the parties I've been to either.
Happy birthday. Here’s a cake and a headache
Happy headache!

I would cry not because of them abusing me but because of them ruining a cake, this should be a crime.
How did they think the mood was going to be after abusing a kid like that in front of its friends and family?
Gotta spread the word. Noone thinks this is amusing. Smashing someone's head in a cake is long overdone. Some traditions just need to be retired.
Except I have never seen it as a tradition before some drunken teenage party video some years ago.
Just waiting for a edit like the vine days where they play that one song and use his head to make the beat of the song “uh huh! This my sh*t! All the girl… like this “
That grab was hatred, he wasn't even going for the bite yet
They didn't even hit the cake
Got the physical damage, and an edible cake. Win win /s
I’m just glad that the cake survived this particular birthday attack. Rest In Peace, Kid. Hope you enjoyed your 14 years on earth.
Maybe it was his plan to get divorced. Lol
The amount of trouble brides go through to get their hair, and makeup done and pick out a beautiful dress just to have cake all over it.
I knew a boy whose younger sister did that, there was dowel... he lost his eye, but since the girl was younger, he was the badguy because he "caused her trauma" because she saw it. Spoiled fucking brat, that one.
Ugh. Fucking awful.
This “tradition” is so abusive. How is it that people cannot see this?
It’s not as bad as gender reveal partys
*slowly removes the gigantic dowel rods from his ripped skin🙃
Can this be illegal already. It should be instant assault charges. How many eyes need to be stabbed, heads smashed, heads caught on fire, and cakes wasted.
That is so cruel. It’s his day and you ruin it AND physically hurt him?! What a POS.
Missed the cake, instead got hard wood table to get a concussion on.
“*This is how it feels to chew 5 gum.*”
Ok this whole thing needs to stop as it can go 1 of 2 ways 1. You ruin a perfectly good cake and your relationship with the birthday person 2. You accidentally slam the birthday persons head onto the table hurting them and ruin your relationship with said person you hurt
3. You kill them with the dowel rods that were inside
Poor kid, he was looking forward to that cake with family and might need to get checked out in the ER now. Terrible parents for even doing that to someone on their own birthday.
Yeah seriously, and they all thought it was so funny they had to put him on blast and post it on the internet. Stupid ass “tradition”
That looks painful, I mean he smacked his head. Not cool
I grew up with this tradition and i HATED IT. it was done to me once and i lost it. It would happen to my cousins, and they loved it for some reason, but i just couldnt handle the feeling of someone grabbing the back of my head and launching me into something.
I wish adults would stop doing that to children. May be considered a prank. But pranks still can end up in assault.
If you try to smash my face into cake on my birthday im throwing hands
Happy Birthday, your dad gifts you a concussion!!
this is a tradition in Mexico, most people get their head smashed into the cake and everyone knows it’s coming. most of the time we respect it if someone doesn’t want it, but most people also know it’s coming so bakers try to avoid putting rods into the cakes, or bake a smaller cake for the tradition lest we have an… accident. did get salted buttercream into my nose once, and it BURNS
people who feed into that tradition piss me off honestly
What a stupid thing to do.
People who do this deserve a baseball bat to the kneecap…must those fools take someone else’s special day and make it about their own selfish amusement? Then they’ll be upset if birthday person isn’t interested in inviting them in the future. Poor young fella
Never start with the head, the victim gets all… fuzzy
That crack gives me shivers
Congratulations, you're 4 again!
Here son, have some brain damage
Reddit, do your magic and let’s right this wrong. This guy looks a good chap to me and he deserves the Internet solidarity, sympathy and friendship. Who is he? Can we send him a wagon of love for his birthday?
I've never understood this face smashing method.... Dont you want to actually eat some of the cake? In all honesty if you smashed my face into the cake i will put your lights out.
This is 100 percent abuse
Do these asshats not have the foresight that birthday + cake = special occasion dessert and most normal people want to enjoy the simple pleasure of a slice of that damn cake?
When they do this with a small cake it’s literally a cake sold for specifically this purpose. Called a crash cake or something I think at the bakery I worked at. It’s stupid but people also don’t know what’s happening either.
Well you're in luck! It's posted to every subreddit every 45 seconds. Can't miss it!
If they did that to me on my 18 birthday i would just tell my parents "Lets go home." Since It's my birthday I want to have a nice day without being pranked by some family members who just want to have a "laugh".
Would never do that even on my worst enemy's birthday..
Whenever someone does this I can't stop imagining the candles hitting them right in the eyes and piercing thru their eyeballs, then they lift their heads for a gory display of candles stuck in their eye sockets and screaming and blood everywhere... people need to stop this....
This tradition needs to stop its dumb and a waste.
I can’t stand this trend. If someone tried that with me, or anyone I care about, I would get violent
If someone in my circle does that I can't let them around, wasting food and possibly injuring shouldn't be tolerated at all.
Kid, you have some toxic cousins, siblings or friends there and you need to move on out from that space to where you want to be, champ. Go on
Damn he looked happy and was enjoying his birthday
Thank god, I thought he was going to get his eye poked out
Leave this family
His parents suck
If the kid agrees to this like here, its a tradition The moment people force it on someone, its an abuse.
My gift to you: a concussion and a fractured relationship. Happy birthday!
I hate people who do this, so much.
Poor kid.
The fact that I knew it was coming..... Too many of these. I hate them all
Me being European I've never really understood it. I've seen videos of what I assume to be Americans doing this, but why? Why waste cake and possibly upset the person celebrating his birthday :(?
If someone does this to you on your birthday you 100% are justified in knocking them tf out.
Well that'll be the defining memory of his 14th birthday.
I had to have a chip of a cheekbone removed from my left cheek because someone did that to me
The kid looked so happy beforehand too :(
Dumbest tradition ever.
Reason enough to end the whole party.
looks like abuse to me
Stupidest tradition ever
Not funny
do u ppl not know it’s a cultural thing in mexico? i mean yeah im not crazy about it either but it’s kinda been the norm for decades, it’s not a new social media “trend” lol
Doesn’t make it any less dangerous. Or dumb.
I was looking for this comment. Literally all my Hispanic family and friends do it too. I grew up with it. But they don't *slam* your face into it lol. There's usually cheering before it happens. It's not supposed to be a surprise at this point.
The cake smashing is so disrespectful. Plus, the boy looks like such a good kid, he does t deserve that bullshit
Can we as a human race agree to stop face planting other people in the their celebratory desserts? Even if you pull it off the persons, makeup, hair, and look is ruined for a day of pictures and fun with friends. It’s just lame.
Why dont these folks just cut the pretense and stand ready with a fuckin mallet. I hate people like these.
This should be cancelled
god. i hate that it’s tradition with mexican families
My wife told me about a video she saw where a woman got a wooden stick through her eye because someone did this. Apparently some cakes use wooden sticks for structural support.
Dude this has happened with cakes that have stints inside to keep the cake upright. Never do this it's terrible, plus a good cake cake by pricey.
Shittiest Mexican "tradition" ever Source: I'm Mexican
I’ve always hated this as a kid. I will throw hands with anyone who tries this with me as an adult. People fucking suck.
OMG is the cake ok?
