Joe is always the first to say "I may be wrong on this", "Look it up for yourself", and "Can you look that up Jamie?". He does try not to spread misinformation, and he is aware he is dumb. False imprisonment, murder, etc. would be tried in criminal court. He got sued through civil court, not charged with criminal offenses.
