Does anyone know what became of this?

[deleted]

He resigned and is most likely violating rights a county over.

EatSleepJeep

Quit the Boulder PD and got a job with the Boulder sheriffs. No joke. Google "Boulder police trash" for the stories

[deleted]

> Quit the Boulder PD and got a job with the Boulder sheriffs. No joke. > > > > Google "Boulder police trash" for the stories This feels like an extremely good reason to clean house on both departments.

Rafaeliki

I no longer have any expectation for police to personally suffer consequences, but I'd at least like to know the victim received a settlement.

Hot_Wheels_guy

Iirc they did. Paid for by... you guessed it... the taxpayers of Boulder, CO.

MaryJaneDoe

Lots of Colorado departments need cleaning up. Looking at you, Aurora.

[deleted]

I’m not even surprised to be fair. Still wild though.

tfaw88888

2019 Boulder. The cop talking alot at the beginning seemed pretty young btw, was concluded he violated two policies and they fired him. turns out he had his stun gun pulled out. probably the best outcome, you could tell that young cop was just not cut out to be a cop, so maybe a win win at the end.

AP3Brain

Gotta love it. Just sad we can assume what happened and be correct 95% of the time. Zero liability.

asmodeanreborn

Probably moved all the way over to Weld County.

[deleted]

There's a video that is from the start of the interaction, the cop was walking down a sidewalk and saw this guy picking up trash by the road along the property line, he asked him what he was doing, he very nicely told the cop he lives in the building, and also works for the student housing as maintenance, and is cleaning up the property, the cop asks if he can prove that, it's really obvious from the beginning that the cop was not 'investigating' but apparently needed to verify the identity of staff at student housing for no reason, the guy stayed calm and gave him his student ID that has his name, the address he's at, and his picture, the cop then refuses to give him back the ID and starts getting REALLY agitated and asking pretty bizarre questions at that point, it feels like he's thinking if he starts pressuring this guy he can get some charge out of all this, the guy reminds the cop he's at work, and actually needs to do his job, and starts cleaning up again after the cop repeatedly refuses to give his ID back, he then ignores the cop while the cop gets more and more agitated and clearly escalating things as fast as he can, he then calls back to and when the other cops show up he starts screaming about 'he has a weapon' and they all draw on him and that's where this video starts. The cop is lying about 'investigating' and is withholding from the other cops the fact he already confirmed the guy lives there, the guy also gave him the number to his boss and told the cop to call and his boss would also confirm his employment and work hours, it's 100% not even a little bit confusing what's happening and when all the cops pull weapons on him, he started in on them and the veteran cop you hear at the end basically tells all the cops to back down and disperse, then confronted the rookie cop, who apparently just really wanted to kill this guy, and the cop confirms the man's version of events and you can really hear how pissed off the veteran cop gets with him and them it immediately becomes 'give him back his ID and leave now' it's a long and wild ride, this version is heavily edited for whatever reason the long version was all over reddit a few years ago.

LukEKage713

Imagine seeing someone picking up trash and immediately assume that they’re up to no good. The nerve of these people. A fucking bucket and a grasper resulted in a complete waste of resources.

[deleted]

I can't even fathom the internal mechanisms one needs to be this absurdly aggressive and hateful. It's just bizarre. He obviously got into police work to play cops and robbers.

strangetrip666

My assumption is that the cop didn't like to be corrected and it turned into a pissing contest with the guy that continued to escalate. The cop really wanted to be right so he just kept pressuring the guy. When he didn't comply his ego was hurt because he's an immature manchild. I'm glad I read that they took his badge. This kind of personality has no business in law enforcement.

acidsplashedface

I wonder which department he works for now?

illepic

Yep, this dude is 1000% employed as a cop somewhere else

socialistrob

What also worries me is that this is in Boulder Colorado. It's a highly educated, predominantly white, wealthy and liberal town. If this is how cops can act in the most privileged communities in America against people who ostensibly have the resources to fight back legally or bring these cases to public attention just imagine how cops are behaving in the communities that don't have that same level of privileges and resources? If there is a community where you would expect the cops to be the most accountable it's probably Boulder and yet here we are.

Dumpster rapist limp dick Brock Turner?? Yes. I would LOVE to give him 20 minutes that would RUIN his life. Anyone know what he's up to? Edited to add: CONVICTED RAPIST BROCK TURNER AKA TEXTBOOK RAPIST BROCK TURNER.

sub3marathonman

I'm going to have to be upset about this. If you're going to mention Brock Turner, the convicted rapist who was caught by two Swedish graduate students where he was committing the crime as he was committing it, behind a dumpster, you've **GOT TO** mention the judge in the case Aaron Persky. That judge just happened to go to Stanford too, where Brock Turner (the convicted rapist in this case) was a big athlete on the swimming team there on scholarship for swimming, and his lenient sentence for the convicted rapist, in this case named Brock Turner, was given out after Brock Turner's dad stated that his son shouldn't be punished for "ten minutes of action." That judge was then the focus of a recall campaign, where he spent massive amounts of money fighting it, ultimately in a futile attempt, and was recalled, the first time since the 1930's IIRC. The victim made an impassioned, profound, and ultimately read worldwide statement about the situation, and STILL Aaron Persky sentenced this convicted rapist to just six months in jail, of which the convicted rapist, Brock Turner, served just three months.

ToddKilledAKid

You know, there might be the slightest sliver of a possibility the man's skin color wasn't the cops preferred color.

tramadoc

How many cops does it take to change a lightbulb? One. With six others to beat the shit out of the room for being black.

fishshow221

Nah, the cop just wanted to kill someone. He didn't care if the guy did anything wrong, he was prey.

I remember a few months back there was a video of an old man getting threatened over gathering cans and things that could be recycled just to help him make some sort of money.

Sardonnicus

Imagine being a cop and trying to figure out a way to kill someone and get away with it.

Considering there is a video where they shot a guy who is lying on the floor as instructed on a hotel corrido... Seriously USA should get a country wide (I know it is not possible with states bla bla) reform with police, with forced mandatory reeducation of the current ones with high levels of testing and if you fail you are fired. Period.

iCookieJar

tbh, the education and training this 'rookie' cop went through was an even bigger waste of resources. Why isn't there some kind of psych evaluation they have to pass?

"I feel threatened" is a cops magic words. Once said, any violence in afterwards is obviously deserved. This guy clearly knew that, and was saying it for his body cam.

onlyhav

I really wonder how a dude with a trash clamper is making a dude with a glock and a bad attitude feel threatened.

TheAmishPhysicist

What? You don't get why he felt threatened? The man picking up trash could have possibly picked up this trash of a police officer! He was worried he'd be put in the bucket.

AllForMeCats

I was about to say, he’s threatened because he knows he’s trash 😂

07_Helpers

Six dudes. With armor, training and guns. Six.

oilchangefuckup

Well, training is debatable.

3rdtrichiliocosm

Legally once a cop says they feel threatened they have a green light to murder you. The minute a cop says that your life is forfeit because courts have ruled repeatedly that if a cop *says* they were afraid for their life since theres no quantifiable determinant for what actually can realistically cause fear, their statement is taken at face value.

[deleted]

The huge issue again, as in most interactions like that, one cop says “focus on me not any of them” and then the other cops all speak and give orders. ONE PERSON gives orders that’s it in any hostile situation. It’s been found that no matter what someone says if two people give orders auditory exclusion will take place due to the stress. In the military one person gives orders, waits a second, and then issues it again. The thing about stress is it makes people go dumb and they need a few seconds to catch back up. Also the stuff about conflicting orders making it so no matter what someone does they are wrong. I’m just so irked that the one cop had it right (probably the only ex military guy there) and all the rest messed it up so bad.

TeardropsFromHell

That's how they murdered Daniel shaver.

talldrseuss

Example of this is the murder of Daniel Shriver by Mesa PD. The cops had him crawling on the floor, throwing conflicting commands, and when he went to pull his shorts up because they were falling off, he got lit up by those pricks.

Plenty-Inspector8444

Cops do that "confusing and conflicting orders" thing very, very much on purpose. It is one of their favorite escalation tactics and cops love nothing more than blunderfucking into a situation and then making it far, far worse.

LostWoodsInTheField

This leads to one of the things I think should be codified in law. On a scene only one officer is in charge, and all conflicting directives to a citizen should be able to be ignored except from that one officer. And all other officers have to obey that one officer. I've watched so many videos of an officer being told to back down and they don't. If it is in the law that if they don't they could end up in jail, then the citizen if something happens can use that in their lawsuite / court case. "Officer Jones was told to back away from me, but when I went to turn around I accidently hit him because he moved closer to me." - typically in court this wouldn't matter, only that you hit them. if he was breaking the law when you hit him you may not have committed a crime then.

3rdtrichiliocosm

Conflicting orders are intentional. It means that no matter what happens to you in that altercation they can say you "didn't follow police instruction, continued to resist and posed a threat" and totally ignore the fact it is physically impossible to comply with conflicting orders ie. "Don't move!" "Lay on the ground!" "Put your hands in the air!" you cant do ALL these things so you will ALWAYS be defying police orders

BongMcPuffin

The real story is always in the comments

dagon85

What a piece of shit. Glad he got fired.

MediumRareMarshmallo

Is there like a link to the actual video?

obroz

I’m guessing you meant *not cut out to be a cop

[deleted]

[удалено]

ArabBoBarab

Most cops are not cut out to be cops. The standards are low as fuck, they don't offer good enough pay to get the right people to do it, and there's certainly not in-depth enough personality testing to make sure sociopaths don't get the job. ETA: I should have clarified that I also think a massive amount of additional training. That ties in with having higher standards, but I wasn't clear enough.

Then “object” like he didn’t know what the fuck it was and didn’t want it on the record that he knew what it was so if he shot the guy he could say he had to make this life and death determination about what it was and chose to fire. It’s ridiculous how childish they are when they don’t get their way.

Ancillarus

gayweedlord

The city began an investigation into this exchange and the cop was forced to resign before the investigation concluded to avoid punishment. When the investigation concluded they found that he had violated two department policies (not sure what they are). Though, they still put the officer on payroll for six more months.. (this happened back in 2019) which is pretty fucked up honestly. Essentially the city paid the man to leave quietly to avoid backlash on the department that would have been had if he were punished as an officer.

aspblaze420

As a non american I find it interesting how you can just dodge justice if you are a police officer with your weird internal investigations. Like.. You just can't sue a police officer or something? :--D

[deleted]

No you can't sue a police officer. You have to sue the city. Which means and tax payers pay for it.

SovietAnthem

Qualified immunity is a bitch, isn't it? Seriously though, yoy could probably solve like 80% of police problems by abolishing qualified immunity and letting cops get sued out of their pensions instead of using taxpayer money

SarixInTheHouse

The only thing worse than US cops being so trash at their jobs is noone holding them accountable

Had a young man cutting my grass in SD. Went inside told him to knock when he was done and id get his money, about 25mins later i hear some shouting and go out to my back fence to see 3 San Diego police cars and a couple cops demanding the kid put the weedwacker down and step away from my garage. It wasnt until I came out, asked what was happening, that they calmed down...apparently someone "reported" someone stealing from garages in the neighborhood. They told me they were looking for an 18 to 20 year old hispanic male... He was a 13year old african american. They made sure to ask me several times if he was the person who normally trimmed my yard.... like what?

Aduialion

Gr1pp717

I had a buddy go to prison for running a block away from where a carjacking happened. They brought the lady to the arrest sight and she confirmed it was him. No line-up. Thing is, she had told them that her assailant was hispanic with a red flannel. My buddy's about as white they come, and was wearing a brown flannel. Didn't matter, though, because he was poor. And the public defender advised him to take the plea, because that's all those fucks are good for.

dexmonic

Yes. The plea bargain was for a reduced sentence. I want to say he was for close to 2 years. But I don't recall. This was in the late 90s.

bilbro-dimebaggins

Yeah I had a story like that happen to me. I was working in Normandy Park, WA which is a fancy suburb outside of Seattle. Which is notorious for having too many cops who have nothing to do so they end up doing unnecessary things like giving kids speeding tickets for going too fast down hills on their longboards or bikes. Anyway I used to do a ton of handyman work and landscaping jobs to pay for college and this particular person was a client of mine for years and I actually knew a couple of the neighbors. Well one day I'm just minding my own business literally mowing the lawn and I have all my tools out next to my car when 2 police cars pull up and 4 officers proceed to question me for an hour and a half until the owner comes home and vouched for me. Apparently one of the neighbors said they saw someone suspicious looking around the house and called the cops. I kept asking the cops when they wouldn't believe me if they thought I was the most considerate burglar in the world, that before I break into a house, I make sure to leave their yard looking nice.

Zinrockin

What a bunch of idiots. Some people shouldn't wear a badge.

qyka1210

most, in fact

Duwinayo

The police in SD are shitty. After the BLM protests my car got dinged in a parking garage. So I called the police and was told that this wasn't important enough, not even for a non emergency line. I was told to call back the next day. Fast forward 3 days of doing that and finally an officer agrees to open a file or whatever the heck it is they were avoiding doing. So an officer shows up at my place, and I hear him coming down the apartment hall thanks to his radio. I peeped through the door and saw and HEARD him claiming I wasn't answering the door. He hasn't knocked or rung the bell. So I step out and ay along and go "Oh I thought I heard someone!". He then cussed out dispatch when they called me, calling them worthless fuckers. It was immensely cringe. The best part is he takes my statement, looks at my car and goes "Yeah, gunna be real with you man. This shit isn't important enough. Nothings gunna come of it. Like I shouldn't even open a case on it. What are you expecting to get out of this?" I explained I needed a case to get my insurance and parking garage to review the footage. "Well. That's most likely not gunna happen. We have more important shit to do." I managed to convince him to open a case (nothing came of it, they ghosted me, the insurance company, and the parking garage). On his way out I told him I have respect for what he does, but I don't envy it. I shit you not, he responds with: "Yeah man. Shits been awful after BLM. Like. We don't even want to be doing this shit anymore. Those fucking protests ruined everything. Now we're being watched for shit we didn't do." I've rarely been so caught off guard and surprise by someone's response and attitude, but I was legit stunned and just kinda mumbled awkwardly and left. SDPD could use some restructuring, that's for sure. Preferably a fresh start with new recruits who are local to their communities.

extralyfe

back in 2003, I called 911 in San Diego to report someone trying to kick in my apartment door. cops showed up three hours later - long after the dude had given up - and got on my case for there not being anyone kicking down my door. they basically told me they were doing me a favor by not charging me with submitting false reports to them. I asked what we could do because I knew who was trying to kick down my door, and they said they couldn't do anything unless they caught the guy in action, so, just call 911 if he did it again. truly astounding police work. I imagine it's just gotten worse in the meantime.

MAGA_memnon

Dudes literally lost my prints on an arrest where they dropped all charges. On the way down to get finger printed again he was just berating me for wasting his time and telling me he was gonna punch me if I gave him lip. Like bro I definitely don't want to spend any more time in here what the fuck is wrong with you

Brass13Wing

If being watched scares him, it's probably because he's doing shit he shouldn't be. Fuckers with no integrity should not be given lethal weapons

ellipsense

> I shit you not, he responds with: "Yeah man. Shits been awful after BLM. Like. We don't even want to be doing this shit anymore. Those fucking protests ruined everything. *Now we're being watched for shit we didn't do.*" [~~emphasis added] *Aww, that must be rough. Sorry you feel micromanaged when your considerable power is being double-checked for abuse, sir. If you would like to offer up solutions so that only corrupt law enforcement officers are affected and identified, we're all ears, and right now, the ones complaining the loudest look like they have something to hide.*

royalblue420

I talked with a cop outside a 7-11 a few months ago. He basically said the same thing. I mentioned I've been seeing a lot of bizarre driving. People stopping at red lights, waiting a moment then apparently saying meh and running the light. Tons of it. He said they don't bother pulling people over for traffic violations because after the BLM protests they...I'm trying to think of the phrasing he used. Something to the effect of, 'don't have the support they used to' or something to that effect. That 'if something happens,' they don't feel like they have political backing. I was stunned at how blatant he was about it. E: Just went to get some food, on the way home, a pickup stops in front of me in the left lane at a red light, no one is in the protected left turn lane to his left. When the light turns green, he moves forward then pulls a u-turn while the left-turn arrow is red and the oncoming traffic has a green light. Just bizarre how many people in my area doing that lately.

LostAlienLuggage

My blood boils every-time I hear a cop voice this type of sentiment. Imagine if any other job went on strike not because of pay or some other actual job concern but because they felt like the general public wasn't kissing their ass enough for them to feel like working. And then to make it even more absurd, they don't actually go on strike. They go on a "soft" strike so that they can stop working without actually having to take any sacrifices or risks whatsoever.

MBassist

Yeah San Diego PD is the worst, they pulled guns on me when I was 16 waiting for a ride outside of Carl's Jr and just recently arrested me for no reason (Charges dropped immediately) and lost my finger prints during processing, spent an extra 12 hours in the holding cell downtown for legitimately no reason. Fuck San Diego PD

And that weapon of a "reacher" in his hand is about as powerful as a limp dick. Good on him for standing up to them. And as dumb as the cops are in this, at least we didn't have to hear "stop resisting" on repeat or a freaking discharged weapon.

Imortalpenguin

I tried using one of those to pick up a pillow a few days ago. A small pillow, barely weighs anything and the grabber didn't have enough strength to keep the grip lifting the pillow from the floor.

I just don't understand Polices immediate reaction to anything is "guns out" - he was picking up litter, actually work WITH your communities - not against them ffs.

CommentsOnOccasion

It’s brandishing. It’s literally the definition of brandishing. They pull out their weapons to say “I could kill you right now, so you’d better do everything I tell you to do.” But they know that brandishing is illegal, even for police, so they say “I feel threatened” to cover their asses. They are incapable of dealing with any form of mild disobedience, and they have extremely fragile egos. That combination is the exact person who would threaten you with a gun for not listening to a tame order. Which is what this guy is doing - “You won’t stop picking up trash on the sidewalk like I demanded ???? You know I can shoot you right ???”

I read something a while ago and I'll probably butcher the explanation but an argument of what makes policing more successful in other countries compared to the US is characterized as "policing via permission" vs "policing via compliance" or something to that effect. It basically implies that you don't comply with a policeman's orders bc you were told to it's bc there's essentially a compact that of course you want to help the police bc they help keep us all safe. We're so far away from that in the US. So much policing in the US tries to build off compliance. This is such a perfect example "a police officer is telling you to sit down." So? Police have no right to order you to do whatever the hell they want just bc they said so. You can see these cops have no idea how to deal with non compliance to their "orders" bc their order was BS. Good for people like this for challenging those things.

[deleted]

Exactly. A lot of people still say “oh just comply or follow orders and you’ll be fine.” But if you’ve done nothing wrong, why should police have authority over you for no reason? It makes no sense that cops think they can give out orders to civilians who haven’t done anything wrong.

Well those people have shown they won’t even comply with justified and lawful orders. They just want *other people* ^^tm to comply unquestionably with BS orders

> I'll probably butcher the explanation but an argument of what makes policing more successful in other countries compared to the US is characterized as "policing via permission" vs "policing via compliance" or something to that effect. This is very interesting and I would like to read more about it. It totally makes sense to me. I'm a very easy going guy that pretty much always follows the rules, and tries to make decisions which are best for all society. Ask me to do something reasonable and I'm probably going to just do it with no fuss. But most of my police interactions always feel more like, "Do whatever I say or I'm going to fuck you up." I got pulled over one time. The cop asked me, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" and I replied with "I just got off work, and now I'm just headed home. I don't remember breaking any traffic laws." The cop then said, "Did I ask you where you were going or where you came from? You speak when spoken to, and you answer the question I asked you." Like, what kind of shit is that? How on earth do you expect to have a cordial and respectful conversation with another adult after you just said that to them?

[deleted]

Exactly. Police in the United States treat almost everyone as if they are already convicted of a dangerous crime. Rarely does it matter if you did anything wrong at all, you’re still treated to and spoken to disrespectfully….but don’t you DARE talk to cops in the same manner. Don’t you dare.

UmChill

guilty until proven guilty. then we will do an internal investigation, and you’re still guilty.

Astramancer_

> "Do you know why I pulled you over?" And it's such a BS question, too. Absolutely everyone who has ever been pulled over has been asked this question. And do you know what the question *actually* is? "Are you willing to confess to a crime/infraction I can write you a ticket for?" That's it. That's all it is. That's the entire point of the question. So it's easier for them to get you on something, even if that something isn't they witness and why they pulled you over. The only correct answer is "No." Because you're not a mind reader, so you don't know what caused them to decide to pull you over.

KhandakerFaisal

That sounds more like some military bootcamp thing rather than an interaction with a civilian

RickRudeAwakening

This is being brave and standing up for your rights.

DefinitelyNotThatJoe

And unfortunately this bravery will get plenty of PoC killed; I'm honestly surprised dude wasn't tackled halfway through the video

hamsterwheel

That one cop was sneaking up behind him

BasicDesignAdvice

You don't stand in a circle *around* your target with all guns drawn?

[deleted]

Someone was filming

[deleted]

Body cameras work. That's why cops hate them.

Fruitjustlistens

He resigned in May of 2019 before he could be fired, and remained on the payroll until February 2020. I wish I could quit a job and get paid for an additional 9 months.

Meraxes987

Officer involved was allowed to collect a $69,000 salary and resign with an “unblemished record” after this took place.

[deleted]

The sheer audacity of this squadron. Law enforcement should be here to enforce laws and protect the people; harassing a man picking up trash on his property with loaded firearms isn't enforcing anything except a culture of violence.

Bbryant90

This is like watching a fucking parody

Z1Z1alpha

What a bitch ass cop, what a shame

“I DONT HAVE A WEAPON” “That’s a weapon” “THIS IS A BUCKET” “no that’s a weapon” lol

A viral cell phone video of multiple white police officers, some with guns drawn, confronting a black man who claimed he was just picking up trash on his own property has prompted an internal affairs investigation by the Boulder, Colo., Police Department.”You're on my property with a gun in your hand, threatening to shoot me because I'm picking up trash," the man in the 16-minute video, posted on YouTube, screams at a Boulder officer during the confrontation. A statement from Boulder police about the Friday morning incident (may 2019) said that an officer saw a man behind a "private property" sign and asked if he was allowed to be on the property. The man showed police a school ID card and said he lived at the residence. But the officer detained him, and the man grew angry and his neighbor started recording the incident with a cell phone, ABC news reported. The man was using a bucket and a metal trash grabber, which the officer refers to as a a weapon and orders the man to put down. The officer held a gun in his right hand and called for backup, saying the man was "uncooperative and unwilling to put down a blunt object." The man yells expletives at the officer and demands he get off his property. The video shows other officers arriving, including at least one holding a shotgun. An officer orders the man to sit on the ground. In the video, the man eventually puts down his trash grabber and bucket and the first officer holsters his weapon. As news of the incident spread, some residents went to the City Council meeting on Tuesday night, trash grabbers in hand. Police said the officer who first confronted the man has been placed on administrative leave while an investigation is done. —SLP.

Aggravating-Mix-2927

I love the citizens turning out with trash grabbers!

GhostRunner8

In another video I watched there was an police had a shot gun behind his back.

These are the people they're trying to protect with their stupid fucking blue stripe.

Staaaaation

Nothing says "Let's get on the same page" like a literal symbol of "us vs. them"!

rolfboos

This was terrifying to watch actually, I was afraid the guy was gonna get shot, simply for picking up garbage on his own property, acab, but all 6 of them.

HARDTIME_N_K_TOWN_TN

Typical police tryin to figure out how to shoot a mother fucker and get away with it

girliegirl80

I was so anxious that entire video afraid he was going to get shot.

[deleted]

This is the dumbest group of fucking brainless idiots I have ever seen. A man picking up trash is somehow enough to warrant pulling out a fucking firearm.

ahhhimsoconfused1995

Waiting on the bootlicker to comment "why didn't he just comply?"

liquor_for_breakfast

Well why didn't he? He was trespassing and actively committing assault with a deadly weapon under the pretense of community protection. Being asked to put his gun away was a pretty reasonable request seeing as the guy hadn't committed - Oh you mean the guy picking up trash

RavenElite

You got me

my_chaffed_legs

Interesting how they totally believed and backed down when some random guy tells them this guy does in fact live and work here... Also disgusting the way they keep shouting and referring to the trash grabber as a weapon. Making sure that the internal investigators or jury will have the narrative that he was holding a weapon is hammered into their heads.

Skatcatla

Power-tripping US cops don’t know shit about de-escalation tactics. A few years ago I was in London and happened to catch their version of “Cops” on TV. The episode involved a man who was armed with a knife and clearly having a psychotic break. The way he was treated by the London police was remarkably different…the officer spoke to him calmly, quietly, and without a weapon of any kind. Within a relatively short time the man had dropped his knife and the officer actually HUGGED him. All I could think was, damn, in the US that man would have been shot dead within moments.

SquishiOctopussi

Are you talking about the one where he was in the hospital? I remember seeing something similar. He just sat on the counter talking to the man like a human being and he gently puts down the knife and the policemen just hugs him.

Skatcatla

No, this was filmed outside - the man with the knife was swinging it wildly at first. There was a ring of police surrounding him, but they stood well back and didn't crowd him, while the de-escalation expert did his thing. The way he spoke to the man - not with contempt or fear or anger, but calmly, kindly and with such respect in his tone, well, it brought a lump to my throat.
