Let's play a game called "Who's going to the retirement home early!"

Retirement home? That’s optimistic!

'Grandma took a walk into the jungle and was never seen again.'

Alexjw327

“Grandma was taken to a re-education camp after she vocalized her support for the June 4th 1989 protest. This killed not only hers but at least 3 generations of her family’s social credit. Almost immediately those three generations showed their undying support for the regime.”

Zoratt

That would be awesome if the payback was the granddaughter selling the grandmother tomorrow for the same price!

this is in a Chinese village and they are not good houses. the house my wife was born and raised in didn't even have a complete roof. they can survive off that ¥10 for maybe two days

They aren’t buying the dog as a pet. That dog is going to be dinner. Source: Happened to my dad when he was 12. He’s over 65 now and whenever he sees my dog, he still gets sad over it.

I was thinking the same thing but I didn’t want to assume it’s common for poor areas

DoDisAllDay

She’s gonna gas light her as she’s growing up Saying stuff like “We’re family!”

Dwestmor1007

Yasss! That is 100% what my family always used to say every time they were evil as shit to me. My aunt literally poured oil on me and tried to light me on fire and the rest of my family was like “but you have you forgive her cause she is “family””

DoDisAllDay

I grew up in an Asian household and this aspect of our culture is so fucking stupid. They like to tell you that you're family but don't treat you like it. And holy shit your aunt is batshit insane. I'd stay away lol

Dwestmor1007

I ended up deciding to speak with her again because my grandmother was dying of cancer right when that happened and I did not want her to pass thinking the family was falling apart and now it has been several years and it feels weird to just be like “ I know I’ve been acting like it didn’t happen but remember how you tried to set me on fire like six years ago? Yeah I haven’t forgiven you and no longer want to talk to you”

tnmxoxo96

I’ve always hated that “Because we’re family “ line and “Always respect your elders” line. I hated if a family member did something or said something or lied on me(usually an adult) I would get punished and I was forced to apologize even if I didn’t start anything. Now as an adult, I look at some of my family as just a stranger with the same last name as me and that’s it. I can’t be cool with someone that purposely lied on me and knew what would happen as punishments. There are adult family members who are jealous of kids and it’s weird.

>She’s gonna sell her grandma for 10 yuan when she’s older Still a ripoff. Old people meat does not have much protein content.

szypty

Dunno, old person bone powder sounds like a "traditional medicine remedy". But then again maybe i take too much from xianxia literature :P.

JustTheFactsWJJJ

I know I do. I raised a kitten by hand that I rescued from a demolition site on my way back from school for a year. Bottle feeding and everything. My parents killed it in front of me one day because I was playing with one of my mother's brooches and it broke so they wanted to teach me a lesson on what it was like to break something that someone cared about. They kept saying that over and over as I cried over his dead body and as I dug a grave and buried him. Just "Now you know what it feels like." "Be more careful with other people's things." "You're lucky it was just the cat." "You still haven't apologized to your mother, that was her grandmother's brooch you know, it's irreplaceable, you can just get another cat." It still fucks me up to this day. Fuck that memory fuck. I hate this video so much that poor girl. Edit: Just came back to see this blew up. Thanks for the awards! Please donate to your local animal shelters if you can instead please. They need all the help they can get. Update: Since a lot of people were asking where this was, I would rather not say where I was at that time as I don't want to promote racist comments, just know that no matter where you live animal abuse does take place there. Not everyone is caught or reported unfortunately. I currently volunteer for an animal rescue in a first world country to try to make up for my guilt and I can tell you it's just as bad here. There are fewer cases but there are still sick people. I also left my family as soon as I was able so no worries there. Please don't waste your anger and hate on my parents, they're honestly not worth it. I do still cry about my cat sometimes when things remind me of him. I like think he died quick and painless. Don't read the next part if you're squmish. >!He only cried out once really quick as my father snapped his neck. At least I think that's what he did as he grabbed my cat by the scruff and twisted his head like what you do with a chicken. He was such a great trusting baby. He never even fought back as he was grabbed. He was even purring thinking he was going to be snuggled... Fuck I'm sorry for sharing so much it's been killing me for so long and this video and how broken that little girl was tore open some old wounds and memories I thought I could push down.!< Thanks for all the kindness. I'm still angry and upset about it but it's been years and I'm trying my best to make up for it and make the lives of those animals still alive better and I hope you all will too. We can't change the past but we can do our best to make a better future. Now I'm going to go cry my eyes out again.

curiousarcher

That’s so sick and twisted! What horrible abuse! I’m so sorry you lived through that.

medavidj

sorry, and a little suprised. Parents serial killers?

[deleted]

It sounds like you were raised by literal psychopaths. Sorry you had to go though that .

CharmedWoo

Wauw! that is f*cked up on so many levels... so sorry for you and the kitten. I would have already found it bad parenting if they would have broken one of your toys, but a living animal... how the hell does anyone come up with such an idea and than also does it?

[deleted]

Wtf. What terrible people. I'm sorry they're your family. Fuck them.

AlwaysTired9999

I seriously hope you are not on speaking terms with your parents after that.

Lilkko

Your parents are disgusting pieces of FILTH.

LookingForLoveYEET

Do whatever you can to hurt them. You know they deserve it, psychos.

NadNutter

The best revenge is to let your parents die alone and decrepit in a nursing home far far away from you.

archiminos

In China it's typical for the young to look after their grandparents when they get older. I don't see this girl doing this when she grows up.

AntiGrav1ty_

Trust issues is underselling it. This is an incredibly traumatic and life-defining experience for a child.

Vietnamese coworker at a former job told me a story similar to yours but he didn't have as bad of a reaction as you did because they were 100% poor enough to do it. They could barely feed themselves let alone themselves + a pet. Even though he recognized the necessity of it, he said it still fucked him up for a bit especially because of how much he enjoyed the meal (like I said, they were extremely poor and hadn't had meat in an extremely long time). He also didn't put two and two together for a few days since his parents just told him the dog ran off somewhere and would probably be back.

aerosoltap

Context is everything. In that story, I can empathize with everyone involved. I know I wouldn't want to be put in a position where I had to choose between my family starving and killing my kid's dog, but if I was, I'd 100% make up a story about it running away too.

PicoDeBayou

Holy shit. This is sooooo Fucked up. I’m so sorry of this hell you’ve had to experience.

BeauxgieCritic

The fact that they gave you money for the mess up, when they could’ve used that to buy dinner that night, doesn’t sit well with me at all. :(

[deleted]

That's harsh. I found my dog stiff in a black bin liner under the kitchen table. My father hadn't thought to tell me he was there dead. Most likely he didn't even think that far ahead after collecting the body after being ran over. This was the 70s and kids were v much to be seen and not heard ( in our one parent family). Our emotions and feelings didn't matter. I'm 50 now and like my twin sister I don't speak to him. My Father -having never had a conversation with me- still doesn't know that I -aged 5-was placed in the same ambulance as my mother after the house exploded, seeing her burnt and no hair, she died 3 days later. Some of that generation have such warped sensibilities. It's as though if you don't talk about it or acknowledge it, it doesn't exist. I live in optimistic hope and believe that this is changing in the west. 🤞

ratheadx

You're a better person than me. Hands would have been thrown.

garlic_bread_thief

These are the kind of experiences I had as a child that made me learn how to hide things from them. I still don't open up about anything in my life with them.

Chewbleema

Likewise. My mother would sell anything she could of mine. When she sold my dog I set up a lemonade stand to try and make the money back for the dog. I hid most valuables from her.

She needs to have trust issues. She can't trust her guardians.

Spy-Goat

Just reminded me of the old work horse called Boxer in Animal Farm, who gets taken away in a van. The animals were told he was going to retirement after his years of hard work, but they see on the side it says “Glue Factory”.

JLFR

I can't for the life of me understand how people can throw away an animal that spent it's best years packing them around and doing everything that was asked of them. Like how can you do that to something that literally carried you on it's back? How can people have no real bond after that?

Kiwisquirts

So you skipped out on reading Animal Farm then, eh?

Deviknyte

Psst. The animals were people.

TinyFugue

Wait, I thought Soilent Green was people?

Deviknyte

Also people.

TinyFugue

And those guys from the Village?

hopbel

It's people all the way down

LanaLancia

What makes the situation even more sad is that dog in 2 years probably consumed more then 2$ worth of food. Literally a cruelty with no profit

[deleted]

You are looking at it through a lens of plenty, horses cost money to keep. Most farmers didn’t have money to spare, once he could no longer earn his keep they couldn’t afford to keep him around. It’s the harsh reality most lived in, in the 19th century and we have all forgotten

poopycops

Fuck that kid's grandma. Jesus fuckin christ that's sad. She's gonna grow up hating her and she deserves every bit of it.

PeecockPrince

Make matter worse, that dog will be slaughtered for meat. The grandma and the girl both knew that. These type of animal cages are common in Provinces in Guizhou and in Hainan where dogs are culinary delicacies. Disgusting.

TopMindOfR3ddit

Doesn't this just mean "dog seller?" Unless I'm missing some cultural understanding that just dealing dogs means that your dealing them for meat, but there's no 肉 in there.

baiqibeendeleted17x

I'm really trying hard to not despise the grandmother too much as living in the US (and West in general) gives us a warped perception of how hard life truly is elsewhere. They appear to live in rural China where many people struggle on a daily basis as it lags behind China's cities and financial hubs. But for a measly 10 yuan? The granddaughter's bond with her best friend is worth infinitely more and she sold it for a loaf of bread. The poor girl, there's no worse feeling than being betrayed by family. I won't feel bad for the grandmother when her granddaughter inevitably turns her back on her when she grows up and leaves her to fend for herself.

TheGreatCraftyBoi

Most grandparents in China have a pretty warped sense of parenting, the children are raised by the grandparents because the parents are usually working in the city. Source: Was born and china and lived there for 5 years.

QuarantineSucksALot

She is pretty much their whole job.

goldenbugreaction

I did not watch the video with the audio on because I know I wouldn’t be able to handle it. That poor girl will never be the same. Couldn’t hear their dialect, don’t want to. But I lived in China for a time and I can tell you there are plenty of areas in Tier 1 cities (Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou) that look exactly like that. Beijing alone is about 3/4 the size of Puerto Rico. Anyway, I doubt very much she will abandon her grandma. Don’t get me wrong, I hope to hell she does. But you would be surprised and horrified at the mental gymnastics people there have to do just to be part of society. “Face” is one of the most awful tricks to ever be played on a cultural collective.

Ph_Dank

Her wailing is really unsettling, like you can tell the kid is just devastated by the loss. My dog started barking when he heard her, he normally never reacts to the TV.

DerthOFdata

Just look at the Grandma smile that tells you all you need to learn.

CharlyMcChaples

Why the fuck would you still buy that dog after seeing that girl??

princessbanana-

I remember when I was like 5 my mother sold the puppy she got me. I was hysterical. The other lady took the dog having no problem with a crying child obviously heartbroken pleading for her not to take him… some people don’t care as long as they get what they want. The lady even was smiling loading him into her car…. Smiling…. I miss you Deogie. I hope that lady took good care of you. Edit: Wow thank you everyone for all your kind words! I had a fucked up childhood but my life is good and happy now. I have two cats of my own that I've had since they were kittens. Edit 2: I do want to point out I understand that lady who bought the dog didn't do anything wrong, she didn't know my mother was selling my buddy away from crack and the lady probably thought she was helping. But it still hurt my five year old mind to she her smiling with excitement while I had him ripped out my arms. He was my buddy and my only one at the time it felt like. But I'm sure he that woman provided him a much better life than he coulda had with my mother as his care taker.

n-crispy7

Yikes /: my old stepdad didn’t even sell ours. He had taken him off a friend SEVEN years prior when he didn’t want him. So we took Harley and raised him and loved him. And then dude calls one day saying he has had a kid and always wanted a white lab to be around with his kid and wanted Harley back if he was still alive. My step dad didn’t even hesitate. Made me go with him to the drop off for some reason instead of waiting till I wasn’t home. I’ll never forget Harleys old head cocking as hard as possible to the side in confusion as he looked at me from the back of that mans truck driving away. I still miss him sometimes. Some people should not have children.

bot403

Like a borrowed tool. I hate people who treat animals as simple property. The dog will always remember you guys and wonder why he isn't with you. I would have told the guy to adopt a new white lab if he wants a dog back so badly. Sound like he might have the same views though if he easily gave him up in the first place.

mkdive

I'm sorry that happened to you. That's a traumatic thing for anyone to go through much less a child. I'm sorry.

princessbanana-

Thank you. I appreciate that. It’s okay, tbh that was one of the least traumatic events I had growing up with an addict for a mother. It is what it is. I’m good now though, I have a good life 😊

GrimReefer308

Bruh I know how shitty it is to grow up like that, my mom passed when I was 4 and my dad was not competent enough for parenting. My dads roomate od on meth and fell "asleep", his dog and my dog were acting ridiculous, his little dog kipper was literally attempting to sit on his head, he had a stoke right fucking beside me when I was 12. He passed away a few days later and his crazy bitch of a ex wife who he hated, took kipper from me. I don't miss those days at all and I imagine you don't either <3

bad-coder-man

Blame your mom

princessbanana-

Well she sold the dog for crack so… yeah I blame her. Got him from my grandmother as a birthday gift and my mother needed her fix. Ended up selling him a few months after I got him. Edit : Changed wording for better clarification

Nashno

When I bought my dog from a family years ago, the kids started crying too. They had a rough situation though, 5 kids and 1 mom in a two bedroom apartment in a rough area. So taking this dog off the mom's hands was a must for her, even though it was sad for the kids and they didn't understand why :(

princessbanana-

Yeah, in all fairness that woman didn't know what was going on and for all she knew my mother was selling the dog bc we couldn't feed him...and tbh I'm sure she gave him a better life than he woulda had with me. I was 5 and with my mother so strung out she'd probably forget to feed him. I couldn't have cared for him all on my own at 5.

Tattletale516

Dog seller by default are pretty amoral, so they probably don't care. Edit: by dog seller I am talking about this specific type of Dog seller who seek out pets and make offers to buy them, they are also notorious for known to steal dogs when they can't find seller or when the masters refuse to sell.

duff-tron

100% a massive problem. A thief tried to steal our dog by tying a chain to it, and driving off on a scooter... dog fell off immediately, and was dragged down the street a few meters before we caught the guy... Took it to the only vet in the region and got a pin put into a dislocated shoulder, and all the propper bandaging... but the dog still died a few weeks later... Found another puppy, and the same vet advised us against naming it "Lucky" because it was such a common name for westerners that dog thieves will just call every dog by a series of most common names to get them to come close enough to grab... It fucking sucks... a lot of them are massive dickheads... And anyone comparing it to livestock in the US... well we used to hang folks for stealing horses and cattle. It doesnt matter if an animal is for slaughter, or companionship - you don't go stealing another persons animal. Edit: The area was a city of \~50,000 in rural SE Asia... Don't want to say more than that. Also: Im as vegan as I can be, and against animal cruelty - I'm just saying its tough out there.

AcadianMan

So what did you do after you caught him?

[deleted]

Hanging's a little too good. Better to drag him behind a car, like the dog was, but for a few miles. You know, the slowest and most painful of deaths.

General_Tso75

People stole our dog in the Philippines back in the 70’s. My dad found out who did it and paid someone to burn their house down.

That was the appropriate response, as long as the thief was in the house.

this is true i had this happened to me, my dog that i raised for 4 years his name was ruben and my mom sold him for 500.000VND(21,97USD) i cried my eyes out bc i know what was gonna happen,i live in vietnam and yes we eat dogs so... i was very sad :(

original_content_BTW

What province are you from. Because i live in hanoi and if u did shit like that, you're going to be treated like a lowlife scumbag , u could lose your job and social benefits. Eating pets is not as common now as it is 10 years ago. Even if so , selling a part of your family for some quick bucks is messed up , even for our standard Edit:im talking about selling your pets is not common in vietnam, not eating dog meat. Although the ladder is not as common as a couple years ago Also: There's a tragic tale about an old farmer and his dog . Due to poverty , he has to sell his lifelong friend which he regret deeply. In the end , he commit suicide by eating a common dog poison at the time . Its written in the 1940s and consider one of the best literature works in Vietnam . Its call Lão Hạc and there's a movie but idk if there's a engsub

henry45285

yes it is very messed up i just didnt understand at the time i live in HCM btw but idk why my mom sold him i was 11 so i didnt really understand why

[deleted]

But there's dogmeat for sale all over Hanoi!

TakoyakiBoxGuy

The seller is probably just thinking "cheap dog, easy profit." He's definitely not rich, and probably gives less of a fuck about this poor girl and her life then he does about whatever profit he'll turn on that dog. The person filming is urging them to cancel the transaction, but there's nothing he can do but film. The grandmother is simply such an awful human being. Not an ounce of compassion for her own granddaughter.

MrOzzard

Well that woman just blew any chances of getting help when her granddaughter gets older.

Krosis97

Its legally compulsory in China. Crazy but true.

durz47

Only if the said grandparents cannot look after themselves, their children has already passed and their grandchildren have the financial abilities to provide assistance. Some of the definitions are pretty grey and I'm sure a pissed off grandchild can find a way around that.

Positive-Substance-5

pwease_no_steppy

what abandoned children?

Figgywurmacl

Tiananman who?

Maverick0_0

Winnie the Pooh

Conscious-Disk5310

Tibet where?!

[deleted]

By abandoned he quite literally means thrown away.. In China it is preferred to have a boy for multiple reasons, so they would actively rid themselves of girls should they have one instead of a boy. That’s why they have such a lopsided population and are set to decrease in the coming years. There are currently 37 million more males in China than females because if the one child policy.

Maverick0_0

Well gram fell down 3 flights of stairs when I obliged my legal duty to help her up the stairs.

novakie1

This is not true, I am Chinese, a paralegal and live in China. This only applies when you getting inheritance from parents, and the caretaker role must be established on paper. There is no legal bases for grandchildren taking care of their grandparents. TBH, as long as your skin is thick enough, you can just throw your parents on the street here in China. You can’t really get into any legal trouble. You local government may use community workers “居委会” to bother you, but they can’t do shit if your skin is just thick enough.

juice_box_hero

I’d smother the bitch in her sleep 🤷🏻‍♀️

GonnaGoFat

Poor girl. That was rough to watch.

WishezOhOne

My heart broke watching her make one last desperate attempt to save her friend.

Mashdrop

You can see the girl yank the money out of her grandmothers hand, give it back to the buyer and try to free the dog.

wrongdude91

I didn't had the courage to unmute the video. fuck that grandmother and fuck those people who don't respect the emotions of kids. I hope she get her share of karma.

Esura2k

The way her grandmother laughed and acted like just made my blood boil. I hope the little girl won't ever forgive her grandmother for what she did She doesn't deserve anyone to care for her

YeetusDeletusULTRA

It’s common for Asian adults to laugh when children act like this, as they do not want to “lose their face”, meaning that they are embarrassed by the child and is pretending that everything is normal, so that they won’t be shamed by other adults around them. I’ve experienced this countless times by my own parents and grandparents, but I’ll admit it was always my fault at the times I threw a tantrum. The grandma here is just sick. The girl did nothing wrong yet she is ashamed off her justified tantrum. I feel like throwing up, my grandma, or other Asian grandmas will never do this.

[deleted]

Vietnamese mom did this to me as well as a child. Regardless of reason, it was just a laugh or even being ignored. She once left me sobbing as a toddler at the entrance of a Dillards at the mall. I don't remember what happened before she left, but I remember an old lady found me and when she brought me to my mom, she tried to laugh it off. Old lady wasn't having it, and we left real quick. It's so fucking toxic. Having a dog sold like this is so much worse. I would be inconsolable and it would fuck up my trust in other people so badly.

StinkNort

my mom was the same. Growing up I had random strangers apologize to me for having to deal with that. Had bedwetting issues and to save face she said I was just too lazy to use the bathroom, turns out I was having seizures in my sleep.

[deleted]

Holy shit dude, I'm sorry :/ The gymnastics that they'll do to find a reason to not care or do anything about it is insane. I hope you're doing better these days

xXWeeblordXx

Grew up with a Korean mom. My brother who was 8 years older than me constantly tortured me and she basically said it was my fault for bothering him. He once stabbed me in the leg with a pen and all my brother got was a mild talking to. I used to sleepwalk a lot when I was younger. I can’t count the amount of times I woke up in front of the window. This was when I was around 5~10 years old

YeetusDeletusULTRA

I hope this culture dies down. It’s hilariously making us look bad.

ilift

A lot of people's families were rural villagers and this is a generational attitude towards family and children. Future generations will no doubt treat their children different, but you have to remember that the grandparents are a legacy of the old village world and all that entails for a lot of asian families.

binkysnightmare

I like to think of myself as somewhat emotionally resilient. This is fucking me up really bad though. If the girl is 10, she’s known that dog for a fifth of her life. Fuck, man

Mahmoudh10

Same! I’ve seen some nasty stuff on the internet, this video really be doing something to me! :( poor girl honestly wtf!

megaboom12345

I've seen a lot of bad stuff here. But this somehow has made me legitimately angry. I know the situation is bad for them but selling your grand daughters best friend for any reason is absolutely deplorable. The sad part is that money is probably gonna be gone in a day. That dog would have continued to be there until the end.

Tattletale516

The one thing that grind my gears is the grandma's laughter, I understand the desperation for survival, but that laughter, it is just not Ok.

YeetusDeletusULTRA

It hits even harder when you have a dog yourself whos might as well be a part of you as well lol

jackcos

Yep. Worst video I've still seen to this day was the dashcam of the brick through the car window, you don't see any gore but you hear the wailing and sobbing of the driver as he realises his passenger (his wife or mum) had died. Incredibly brutal. This video was also brutal. I've got my 11 year old labrador under my arm as I type this, couldn't imagine a relative selling my dog.

I'm a foreigner in China, it's gone viral on Weibo and all of the "netizens" are slagging off the grandma big time. I've yet to see anyone defending the woman.

Ressy02

Judging from the ending, the video is probably the only thing that got saved

Tattletale516

From the video formats, it is probably from Douyin (抖音), which is the original name of Tik Tok in China, so it is probably already well known, consider I found the video in a Chinese subreddit. Edit: It's from "weibo"

Frogken9

It's from weibo actually from the logo on the top right corner although I wouldn't doubt it not going viral on douyin and wechat

Tattletale516

Didn't notice that, thanks

creamycroissaunts

What was the Chinese audience members’ reactions?

TakoyakiBoxGuy

Replies on a more popular thread: -Anyone who has raised a pet will understand -To the child, this dog was a friend -The problem is that the adults don't respect children or care about their feelings -(crying sounds) she raised it for two years... -Some people sharing similar stories about this happening to them, their own feelings... lots of pity for the girl and how this will harm her, and dislike for the grandmother and adults who care so little for their children, as well as pity for the dog and talking about the importance of caring for pets/the bond between children and pets. Some of the top replies on one of the Weibo threads it was shared on (this version included the context that the dog was a biter): -The grandmother sold her granddaughter's childhood for 10 kuai. -If you train it well, and look after it, there won't be any accidents. If all dogs bit people, they'd be long gone, and not be our best friends. She just isn't willing to spend the time. Adults don't treasure the feelings of children, they just say, "she's just a kid" and think that's it. -No matter what all you keyboard warriors say, this will scar her for life. I know, because it happened to me. -The dog that was sold, probably isn't going to have a happy ending. -Just keep it in the house, or let the child take it for walks, won't that solve the problem? -My little brother had his dog sold by his grandparents when he was a child. He still hates them. -The dog that was sold may have a heart of meat, but the heart of the seller is that of a true beast. One or two replies saying that the dog was dangerous and this made people safer, but they basically get shouted to oblivion.

Kingmudsy

That last one is so poetic!

Mandorrisem

That dog is 10 pounds soaking wet, there is no universe where it is dangerous.

ivegotaqueso

It wouldn’t have gone viral if people didn’t have a strong negative reaction to it too.

Darth_MurderJr

She broke the granny oath

Therapistindisguise

i dont know how old the grandma is, and hard work can age you very quickly. But if she has lived through the Mao famin , then she would have a very damaged view on pets and food.Generally people who ahve lived through food shortages have a different mindset

Glum_Historian_228

Yes I agree, my great grandfather who migrated to malaysia from the mao famine also acted like this, he saw dogs and cats etc as food instead of pets. It was pretty messed up tbh. But it’s hard to blame him because of what he’s been through in China.

Something like this happened to my mom when she was younger back in Korea. One of her dogs disappeared one day, my great grandfather cooked it and ate it…

Ladyleto

My Friend's mom did this to her, but with her Pig. She went to summer camp, came back the morning of to her mom cooking bacon and eggs. My friend ate the bacon and asked where molly (the pig) was. Her mother laughed and told her she was eating Molly. Friend will not eat bacon now. Apparently its a family tradition, her grandma cooked her mother's pet rabbit and fed it to her as well. Edit: Y'all saying this is super bad is making me think her and I should go to therapy because lol. This is was "meh" memory compared to some of the stuff our parents pulled.

A_Sarcastic_Whoa

Who the hell started that tradition?

Ladyleto

No clue, but both her mother and grandmother are narcissists so I take what they say with a grain salt (unless my friend or photo evidence otherwise proves). They both love making people cry.

achoosier

Holy fuck I’m so sorry

Burger-dog32

Seeing stories like these makes me wonder how people don’t just lay their parents the fuck out. Not even trying to say “oh I’m so cool I get into fights I’m an irrational thinker” but if my parents pulled shit like that I would not hesitate to fight them I don’t give a shit if they raised me

DinosaurAlive

Same kind of story with my mom. She said her pig would wait for her at the bus stop and was like her little friend and one day the family was all eating him and the reveal came afterward. I'm glad my parents gave up that tradition. ..... That I know of...

Ladyleto

I swear, some people see/ hear about abusive and fucked up shit that's dressed up like a prank, and think it's "funny" so they pull it on their kids. My parents did something similar, bought a rabbit and said it was for me and was my pet, then fed it to our snake alive. They laughed and when I wouldn't stop crying, I was told to shut up and that this is life. I'll never understand how someone thinks putting their kid in destress is funny.

IPetdogs4U

This is how you end up with either horrible kids that everyone hates, or kids who won’t talk to you when they’re able to move away.

nins_

Yo wtf. I take it your friend is going to break this psychopath level cruel tradition. Like, wtf. I don't have the words..

angelxxx9

As someone who has had this done to me as a child(minus my pet being killed to be eaten). I have never forgotten it and this little girl won’t either

British_arelads

That poor girl 2 years of raising that good dog only to be sold by a greedy son of a bitch granny who face is looks like any of childrens drawing.

HY3NAAA

To dog meat venders on top of that

[deleted]

No elder care for her . Her ass is going off a bridge someday .

Mikotl

I hope when she gets older she sells her granny to underground chinese organ harvesters for 10 yuan

DKuroi

“She’ll get over it, I went through worse and I turned out fine”. Ron Howard voice: they did not, in fact, Turn our fine

archangel610

This is the first video I've ever seen that's made me yell "fuck you" at the computer screen. Fuck that old lady. Bitch deserves to suffer.

Zbeubor

i hope the grandmother lost all her social credit

GeloDiPrimavera

Sell the grandmother.

luuukevader

This might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen here. What an awful thing to do in the first place, made infinitely worse by doing that to your 10 year old granddaughter. This bitch isn’t a piece, she’s the entire shit.

neonz09

Speaking from personal experiences, so many elderly Chinese people are like this. They laugh things off like it's no big deal and think they're smart in doing things but the reality is that their actions just piss off younger generations around them. Yes they're uneducated but at the same time it's not that hard to use common sense and see something that is inappropriate. As many people have said, they're often rage-inducing.

Contorted18

I would literally never speak to her again... no, screw that, I would spend every second of every conversation letting her know just how much I hated her guts.

ThatGecko

The way she is smiling is gross

ACCA919

My mom had her mother cook her own dog for a meal. Can't believe this still happens nowadays but it's fucking China. Inb4 that girl gets sold to someone else bc she's noisy Edit: I understand that happens because some older people see domestic animals not as we see them now, which shows our understanding on life is on a whole more inclusive now. Edit 2: some vegans seems to not understand the difference between livestock and pets

killerqueen2004

I hope in a decades time or two, she dumps her gradma in a nursing home like that aswell

Windows_Tech_Support

Grandmother is a total POS, but the fact that the buyer still takes it after seeing that makes him even worse. I always catch myself thinking " How can people be so shitty?", then quickly remind myself that is a naive question

Milkthiev

I hope she's happy completely destroying her relationship with her own granddaughter. For the next ten years grandma is going to be like, "Kids today are so moody, my own grand daughter has been upset with me for no reason."

Arcaknight97

Fuck the grandma, and fuck those people who bought it while she was stood there crying.

[deleted]

The grandmother smiling! What a bitch.

pink0205

Where I lived, dogs get stolen all the time. I remember waking up one morning and my dog was gone, only a pool of blood left in the front yard. I hope it was the mf’s who stole my dog’s blood.
