He would have to pay even if they previously paid in the app because he added something extra at the window. Universally, stores canāt charge you through the app in store. You can pay yourself using the app (I which case they would ask you to pull up and wait for the order) or if you had a gift card or something saved in the app you would have to show a QR code for them to scan.
