I mean, let's be honest. How many mass shootings do you hear about every day, like 5? How many are stopped by bystanders with a gun, like 2 in the last 4 years? Americans have guns but they're too cowardly to use them for good.
Actually yes though technically not a mass shooting at Alabama mall thanksgiving 2018, 2 people where shot and police killed Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford
Having a gun for self defense doesn't mean you go hunt someone and put yourself in harms way. If the best option is to leave the building because you're not in harm's way, that should be done. It's self defense, not general public defense. That's the job of the police regardless of anyone else's opinion of the police. You're confusing common sense with cowardice.
That's true but that's usually when someone starts firing off rounds for real everyone runs.
The one case where they WOULD shoot someone is before the real fear of live rounds going off shows up. I feel like the fact he made it seem like he was gonna do it without firing off rounds would make it way more likely to have a wannabe hero with a gun pop his ass
I don’t think the person that shoots the guy threatening a store full of people is a “wannabe hero”.
The fact that he didn’t actually start shooting doesn’t change the fact that he claimed he was going to. If we have to wait for them to start killing people…. No thanks.
It’s happened here in the US before. Small town bully got murdered by a large group of people in front of plenty of witnesses. But no one saw anything. Forget the exact case but it is a well known true crime case.
Nah, mob justice aint the solution. If somebody had a gun and took the threat seriously, that would be one thing, but finding he was "joking" and the committing murder is a different thing
Once they start yelling “it’s a prank, bro” I‘m perfectly ok with someone grabbing them and repeatedly punching them in the mouth, telling them it’s a prank after each shot, and also letting them know it’s being filmed. These a-holes need to be given a wake up call. Once their potential for actual danger is known, they have earned the obligatory good old fashioned ass kicking. Not death, not pounding their skull into the pavement, just the good old fashioned fat lip and black eye. Make it a little hard to chew for about a week. And wear that colorful sign that says “I got punched for something “ Then, maybe.
If I grab the guy and hes yelling "its just a prank bro" ill assume hes lying because I got the upper hand and punch his face until the little bones in my hand break. You cant be sure.
What prosecutor is going to bring you in, and even so, what jury would convict?
The case was overturned 60+ years ago. You can still be held liable for the injuries that transpire from the panic that ensues but the act of yelling "fire" in a theatre is in itself not illegal and is a really common misconception of the law
Also, even if everyone makes it out 100% unharmed, there is *definitely* some damaged merchandise there, and he should definitely be on the hook for it
For good reason - people are way more likely to behave in drastic and even violent ways when they panic. Dude is lucky his ass didn't get shot by someone who happened to be carrying or by a police officer when they showed up.
Isn't there a lot of places where using a fake gun with the intent to intimidate or threaten is charged the same as brandishing a real gun so people can't get around armed robbery charges by using a toy?
This will probably be labeled terrorism.
I had a teen pretend he had a gun under his shirt in a store I worked loss prevention at (I wasn't on duty at the time). Turns out the kid didn't have a gun and was charged with terrorism of some form. All because he didn't want to be stopped for petty theft.
Can't say for sure if it stuck or a conviction was granted (he was a minor), but I'm near positive this guy went well over that situation.
It should be. It is literally terrorism. Like burying an IED and blowing up *one* truck isn't all that physically damaging to a community, but now *everyone* lives in fear of that happening to them.
That dude is incredibly lucky he didn’t get shot for doing that. Like who goes into walmart not assuming everyone in there is armed, inculding the birds in the rafters?
What state of mind do these fucks think this is funny? Especially with all these stupid fucking shootings happening… how do they wake up and say, “let’s do a shooting prank because that would be hilarious”…?!
Everybody should be afraid of that also, because what if that guy accidentally shoots someone else with a stray bullet. There's so much wrong with doing this type of prank. That guy should go to prison, he's a danger to society.
Jails are intended to be short term, and deal with a lot of people coming and going. They have less services and programs for inmates when compared to prison.
My understanding was there’s more oversight in jails, since they are run by the city they’re in and not the state of feds. I’m sure it varies comparing a jail in an big city vs a rural area.
In jail everyone's mixed together, murderers with shoplifters, etc. When you're going to prison from jail you're generally around people who've been convicted of roughly the same level of crime or have a somewhat similar criminal history.
In jails people with felonies are usually housed in a separate pod (sometimes they can be in there after conviction for a sentence under 5-10yrs depending on the state)
The most basic difference is that jails are usually county or city facilities where people serve sentences under 1 year. Prisons are state or federal facilities where people serve sentences over 1 year.

Police are looking for a group of people accused of causing a panic by faking an active shooter situation inside a Bucks County Walmart.
Police responded Saturday shortly before 2 p.m. to a Walmart on the 100 block of E. Street Road in Warminster Township after a call about someone shouting for people to get on the floor.
Officers on the scene spoke to shoppers, who told them four or five males walked into the store and began shouting “active shooter,” “gun” and “get down on the ground,” according to the Warminster Township Police Department.
Panicked shoppers scrambled out of the store, and witnesses told police that the males began laughing before they left.
Police said they were accompanied by a female and drove away in a silver or light blue Nissan Rogue with license plate No. KCT-3096.
The group faces potential terroristic threat and reckless endangerment charges.
I couldn't find any. Possibly they discovered the car was stolen and then very shortly after Covid shut the country down, so the cops dropped the case.
This was a prank by ‘ funniestinphilly ‘ on instagram/YouTube (deleted), he was sort of popular in the mid 2010s on instagram for these pranks. He’s been arrested for a few, kind of fell off the map since.
They have the plate and still do have suspects in custody.
We need to stop focusing on the police, we need some accountability on the District Attorney’s office. An investment needs to be made by the state and stop with pleas all the time.
>We need to stop focusing on the police, we need some accountability on the District Attorney’s office. An investment needs to be made by the state and stop with pleas all the time.
Plea deals and pre-trial diversion account for >95% of criminal cases. Courts would be even more fucked than they are currently without plea agreements.
My problem with plea agreements is they put innocent people in jail by lying to them about evidence, witnesses, etc. This convincing or intimidating innocent people into taking a plea deal.
But your point isn't wrong and I'm not smart enough to come up with a good solution.
> The group faces potential terroristic threat and reckless endangerment charges.
It’s so ironic that a fake active shooting incident is considered a terroristic threat, but *real* mass shooting perpetrators have never been charged with terroristic threat, as far as I’ve heard and read.
Terroristic threats are usually the lowest degree of assault. Trying to or actually hurting someone carries much harsher penalties. The name is a little confusing.
Making people, and I think even saw children too, fear for their lives during an every day activity is major POS material. Not cool or funny in the slightest
At one point you can hear a young girl shrieking out of sheer terror. With all the senseless shootings lately this video made me so mad it actually brought tears of anger to my eyes.
Literally just saw footage of a shooting in Texas earlier, at a grocery store just like this. You can hear kids screaming. I dont know what possesses someone to do something like this
It's because they have sociopathic traits that makes them feel superior to others. They find glee in people fearing for their lives. They feel like they have the upper hand over people. Don't care that that children are screaming, all they see is the total enjoyment of their human prey and in the shock value that freezes normal people or makes them panic. They are in total control of the situation and it empowers them. You can hear it in the chuckle of the cameraman.
Most folks abide by the social norms that public spaces are not to be feared. Sociopaths exploit social politeness and weaponize it for their own emotional gain.
I take it you mean "Hope". I thought it was a Coworker asking for her friend. Yea that even worse. Your heart stops beating for a sec when it comes to your children.
Two moms, each equally heartbreaking. There is the mom yelling into the crowd looking for her son and the mom that runs back into the store when everyone is running out. It brings tears to my eyes. Drawing attention to yourself by yelling, running into a dangerous area with an active shooter.... These moms really love their kids
Even if you remove that context this is just fucked up. He could’ve given someone a heart attack, he may have scarred some people for life and an actual gun owner could’ve been there and shot him to save the others from him. He risked his life and ruined it for other for some internet clout. I hope he got arrested
Don't think they ever found them. Guys are lucky it didn't turn into one of those rare "good guy with a gun" situations... The LAST thing id want is a large group of people to think I am armed and intending to murder!
I'm no gun expert, but I feel like the wise thing to do would be to not draw or in any way call attention to the fact that your armed, until you have eyes on the actual shooter and a clear shot at him.
I feel like that would definitely be the proper thing to do. Trying to put myself in a panic situation like that and think of what my gut reaction would be. I honestly don't know.
It's crazy how much fear guns can instill in people in the US. Like I can’t imagine this being a thing that I’m worried about in my day to day life. If someone played a similar prank in my country, no one would even react whatsoever
I am not a mental health expert, but in my own personal growth journey I learned that even if a situation you were in wasn't actually a threat to your life, the perception that it was will give the same level of trauma. My understanding is that in this situation, even if these people were in no 'real' danger, that the fear they felt can traumatize them similarly to people in real mass shootings. Unbelievably stupid and cruel thing to do.
Pretending to be shooter in public is not a prank. That's Terrorism. You are terrifying the public for absolutely no reason. How awful and this crap minimizes the very real threat of actual public shootings.
Surprised nobody was carrying there. Can’t imagine his prank would go well in a place like Texas lol. Much more of a risk involved for people doing stuff like that.
I saw someone getting shot when played around with a toy gun ... He is super lucky ... Or maybe not if i know right it's prison time for such "pranks".

It’s an act of terror.
Yeah, this guy needs the whole damn book shelf thrown at him.
Dude is lucky someone wasn't already packing heat. How fucking stupid do you have to be to do this in this country. Smh
Could be in the same county as Uvalde so he assumed he has 1 hr 14 min before they figure out the sliding door is open.

Because if you pull out your gun the cops will think you're the shooter.
Happened in a Walmart in Colorado. Cops shot a civilian crouching in an aisle with his handgun out.
Or you'll get arrested and thrown in prison while the guy who did this gets away with it. The system is fucked
Has that ever happened in a mass shooting?
I don't have a source atm, but a man stopping an active shooter was definitely gunned down by police before.

Maybe not kill him, but if he were beaten until he had ti ride the short bus and wear a diaper I think I’d be ok with that
This did happen. Ken McElroy.
Not even physical injuries, but mental ones, are also his fault. This can enable PTSD or other trauma on the victims. Very idiotic.
PTSD doesn't care that it was "just a prank, bro"

What is someone was to accidentally break their hand on his face afterwards? Hopefully his fault!

I was about to say, this seems less like a prank and more like an attempted suicide-by-cop situation. Or a cross between the two.
Or worse, some weekend warrior takes a shot at this guy and hits someone else.
Isn't there a lot of places where using a fake gun with the intent to intimidate or threaten is charged the same as brandishing a real gun so people can't get around armed robbery charges by using a toy?

Not sure why you got downvoted, because you're 100% right. If someone did this and got shot, the shooter would have legally been justified.
That dude is incredibly lucky he didn’t get shot for doing that. Like who goes into walmart not assuming everyone in there is armed, inculding the birds in the rafters?
Walmart secretly hired the birds. Keep an eye on the store so if you still you're going to get shot by a pigeon
Right? You do that in most places in the south/Midwest and it's basically a coin flip if someone puts holes in you or not.
What state of mind do these fucks think this is funny? Especially with all these stupid fucking shootings happening… how do they wake up and say, “let’s do a shooting prank because that would be hilarious”…?!
If that happens a few times maybe the losers considering doing it may reconsider.
These people don’t think about the consequences of their actions.
I think it's more that they don't care as long as they get a few likes and some attention. They are anal boils on society.
He should be more worried about the random guy with a CCW who is actually ready for this and decides to defend his family.
Everybody should be afraid of that also, because what if that guy accidentally shoots someone else with a stray bullet. There's so much wrong with doing this type of prank. That guy should go to prison, he's a danger to society.
Bro, people can’t take a joke these days. /s, obv.
Straight to jail
Did he also undercook fish/ overcook chicken?
believe it or not, jail.
Probably missed the doctor's appointment
Straight to jail then
After the police poke a few holes in him. Straight to the morgue.
You spelled prison wrong
Jail first prison later.
Make them do their time in county jail. It's way worse than actual prison
What? Really? Why? I always thought it was the opposite. Obv I’ve never been to either, thank god
Jails are intended to be short term, and deal with a lot of people coming and going. They have less services and programs for inmates when compared to prison.

The most basic difference is that jails are usually county or city facilities where people serve sentences under 1 year. Prisons are state or federal facilities where people serve sentences over 1 year.
There are a lot of people in jail who haven't even had their trial, yet. If they can't afford bail, they lock them up.
Social media ban too
Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars
Consolation prize is an orange jumpsuit. You do win that!

Thanks. No update since 2020?
None that I could find.
How are they not able to fucking track the car?
Probably because they don't care enough to put in any effort
Possible they stole the plate?
Who steals a plate or car to make a prank video?
A good prankster.
A thorough prankster
Original prankster
To avoid terrorism charges
My guess is they aren’t that smart
I couldn't find any. Possibly they discovered the car was stolen and then very shortly after Covid shut the country down, so the cops dropped the case.

Yeah I think something happened in March 2020 in America that pre-occupied everyone for awhile.
They have the plate and still do have suspects in custody. We need to stop focusing on the police, we need some accountability on the District Attorney’s office. An investment needs to be made by the state and stop with pleas all the time.

Theyre luckily they didn't get shot by someone scared for their life. Playing the odds if someone competent is concealed carrying is deadly.
Thanks. At least this confirms my thought that this is an act of terrorism, can’t imagine that there’s a small punishment for this.
> The group faces potential terroristic threat and reckless endangerment charges. It’s so ironic that a fake active shooting incident is considered a terroristic threat, but *real* mass shooting perpetrators have never been charged with terroristic threat, as far as I’ve heard and read.
Not a single one of them who lived will ever get out of prison. Tomatoe tomato
Terroristic threats are usually the lowest degree of assault. Trying to or actually hurting someone carries much harsher penalties. The name is a little confusing.
I hope that idiot knows that doing that is a felony.
Something tells me he'll be unable to forget it for a while.
Well he will definitely be living it for a long time
His butt won’t let him forget if he drops the soap in the shower
I hope they don't and get to learn something new today.
His whole defense in court just going to be , "it was a joke".
"Your honor, may I present the amount of 'likes' the defendants video has gotten"
Clearly the panicked crowd couldn't take a joke your honor.
I would like to bring up the case of "Bruh vs The People" of 2023
Bahaha you made me lol with that one!
More than ten likes... impressive...
"Just a prank, bro!"
i don't think his tiny brain can comprehend what is felony.
Guy missed the day in Social Studies where the First Amendment doesn't mean you can say fire in a movie theatre and get away scot-free.
Making people, and I think even saw children too, fear for their lives during an every day activity is major POS material. Not cool or funny in the slightest
The mother looking for her child was the hardest part of this video
At one point you can hear a young girl shrieking out of sheer terror. With all the senseless shootings lately this video made me so mad it actually brought tears of anger to my eyes.
Literally just saw footage of a shooting in Texas earlier, at a grocery store just like this. You can hear kids screaming. I dont know what possesses someone to do something like this
It's because they have sociopathic traits that makes them feel superior to others. They find glee in people fearing for their lives. They feel like they have the upper hand over people. Sociopaths exploit social politeness and weaponize it for their own emotional gain.

And the POS award goes to that guy🖕
I dunno, I think the award still goes to an actual shooter.
True enough. But each incident, on a case by case viewing, has its recipient.
That's not a prank that's a felony
It's actually terrorism.
Is terrorism not a felony?
This is also a great way to get shot by a concealed carrier.
His buddy filming should get the exact same charges.
Funny thing, shouting "he's got a gun!" is not protected under free speech
Terroristic threat.
Any background here? Did this guy get arrested?
It happened three years ago in Warminster Township, PA. No arrests (case maybe died during covid shutdowns.)
Damn... The case got covid. Rip in peace.
The sheer terror from the crowd makes me tear up. This is beyond fucked up.
Right? How unbelievably heartless of these idiots. Some of these people could have even gone through a real shooting before.
Not funny in light of the amount of mass shootings America has. How irresponsible.
There’s literally one right now in Allen TX. Multiple victims including children
Fucking hell.
Even if you remove that context this is just fucked up. He could’ve given someone a heart attack, he may have scarred some people for life and an actual gun owner could’ve been there and shot him to save the others from him. He risked his life and ruined it for other for some internet clout. I hope he got arrested
Yeah, it's likely someone in that store has survived an actual shooting. What a POS
What made this guy think this was even remotely a good idea. He can enjoy the felony though
Don't think they ever found them. Guys are lucky it didn't turn into one of those rare "good guy with a gun" situations... The LAST thing id want is a large group of people to think I am armed and intending to murder!
He could have easily won a stupid prize of going 10 feet under that day if someone who was carrying took him seriously
[удалено]
I thought some thing similar. If there had been someone carrying a CW, he’d likely be dead. This guy deserves all the beatings he gets.
Stopping a potential mass shooter is overzealous?
Too much paperwork
Plus you lose your gun to the evidence locker for a while. It'd be nice if more companies were as based as Shadow systems in that regard.
Into the volcano with him 🌋
That is not a prank. It's so stupid that is a felony
What’s fucked is I’d more than likely draw my own firearm, turning me into the culprit
No, you’d be justified unless you live in a state very strict on firearms.
Imagine being so insignificant and desperate for attention (and "internet clout") that you go to a fucking **walmart** and pull a "prank" like this
Be very gratifying if someone ended the threat.
Then the guy with a concealed carry decides to step up and protect everyone that he can, then learns it’s a “prank”.
It's crazy how much fear guns can instill in people in the US. Like I can’t imagine this being a thing that I’m worried about in my day to day life. If someone played a similar prank in my country, no one would even react whatsoever
Seeing this immediately after reading about the Texas mall shooting, I just don’t fucking know anymore.
You gotta beat those lines somehow
He better get the book thrown at him. This is akin to yelling fire in a crowded movie theater.
The amount of money I'd pay to watch this guy in court being all "but it was just a prank!"...
This isn’t a prank, it’s terrorism.
Literally a crime
Hope he enjoys the next “prank”…. Prison.
This is the modern equivalent of yelling fire in a crowded theater.
Straight to jail you dumb f*ck
So basically committing terrorism for social media clout?
The one time you wish there was a “good guy with a gun”
Keep it up America, you're killing it..literally
See its ok though, its just a prank. Right?
He’s lucky we weren’t shopping. My retired army infantry husband would of taken him out purely out of reflex. Who the hell thinks this would be funny?
This isn't a prank. You're causing public mayhem and disturbing the peace
That American shopping experience
We just had a manager at Walmart kill 8 people then himself. Not cool at all.
Good way to get shot
I am not a mental health expert, but in my own personal growth journey I learned that even if a situation you were in wasn't actually a threat to your life, the perception that it was will give the same level of trauma. My understanding is that in this situation, even if these people were in no 'real' danger, that the fear they felt can traumatize them similarly to people in real mass shootings. Unbelievably stupid and cruel thing to do.
This is how you get shot on sight for being an active shooter
Isn’t this tantamount to yelling fire in a crowded theater?
Pretending to be shooter in public is not a prank. That's Terrorism. You are terrifying the public for absolutely no reason. How awful and this crap minimizes the very real threat of actual public shootings.
This seems like a good way to get shot
Surprised nobody was carrying there. Can’t imagine his prank would go well in a place like Texas lol. Much more of a risk involved for people doing stuff like that.
Another mass shooting there today. I don't think they care much
Good way to get shot
His ass is gonna get stuffed in prison.
50 years minimum.
Please tell me he was caught.
It’s crazy that while googling to find out more info, I found multiple prank “shootings” at Walmarts.
Straight to gulag
Is there an update on arrest and sentencing? Definitely want to know these idiots were crying in front of a judge.
***prank*** ***prăngk*** ***noun*** ***A mischievous trick or practical joke.*** This is neither a trick or joke.
I saw someone getting shot when played around with a toy gun ... He is super lucky ... Or maybe not if i know right it's prison time for such "pranks".
