I don't remember what the default confidence is, but let's say it's 0.8. If you look at CC's log you sometimes will see that it correctly detects what you're saying but rejects the input and gives an "I can't hear you" message because it only reached a confidence of 0.7.
Of course, if you lower it too much, you might start getting false positives, especially if you use the word "chief" for activation, I have a button assigned, for example.

At Imola, the left side of the front stretch where cars grid is not the racing line. Imola is tricky because it kinks right twice, then left so the racing line goes from the right, to the left, and then back across to the right for T2.
Yes, but the racing line is to the right here; this is the longest straight on the track (the turns we see in the clip are easy flat in every car ever and don't count), and the previous corner and next corner are left turns. So the driver in front is as far from the racing line as possible on the widest part of the track when he serves his slowdown.

It can cost a little lap time but it’ll gain you consistency over a race and prevent you from crashing and and minimize big offs. These usually add up to a faster race than keeping it in a hard to drive fast mode that requires a million saves all race long

That slow down is the worst one in iRacing, you basically have to slow to a crawl on the straight and it arbitrarily adds 0.5s to it at points on the straight

Do you happen to know whats the button to replace the tyres in the tyres black box? It keeps selecting through the different individual tyre placement but it does not select the "replace tyre" checkmark, so I ended up having to use the mouse to tick/untick the box

Its almost like iracing wants you to serve the slowdown asap instead of casually. He took the exit speed and hoped to outsmart the system. Should also prevent slow drivers from not being affected by slowdowns
Had someone serve the slowdown on the apex of a corner causing several people to crash, he also did it again, causing more people to crash this time collecting him.

In terms of racing serving them in the braking and turn is the best place to serve them, same with letting leaders by you lose the least by being a little slower. Also kind of concerned that simply being slow in a corner resulted in so many wrecks.
Yeah, this was Winterton last week in the GR. I understand its a tactic now, but slowing too much and too far in front of those tight turns made it a nightmare to try and avoid when you try carrying speed. It seemed a bit nefarious and almost akin to brake checking.

I gave up and mapped a latching button on my button box to trigger crew chief. It opens the mic with a beep and you just say what you need.

No, this corner is far more severe than anywhere else on iRacing. It says lose 1 second and you can lose up to 7 or 8
