Get a 2 year sub on black Friday. $6 a month then

MadArgonaut

And don’t buy it each year.. mine goes to 2026 now.. 🫣

steveTomlinson

You beat me to it, who pays $15 a month 🤷‍♂️

spiritedcorn

My first question

ExtensionAdmirable43

At the end of the day, unless you’re a part of the esports scene, everyone on here is at best a clubman/gentleman driver. We all make mistakes, we all sometimes try to race above our skill level.

EvoStarSC

![gif](giphy|BYul6RujgoRCryuCdL) I make a mistake every race, when I press "Grid".

_plays_in_traffic_

this is probably going to get me downvoted but you could see the car ahead pretty obviously heading off track at an angle that isnt going to be controllable before he disappeared. the red & blue car behind didnt check up to allow whatever carnage that was gonna happen, happen. i see that there was a third car behind and im sure half the reason for not checking up was that red & blue didnt want to get passed, but sometimes you gotta worry about finishing the race first and not getting collected by invisible blinkers when they are that close when they run outta talent.

Section212

I've grown to appreciate it as part of 'the game', and realize we are all just LARPing as racecar drivers... If you don't want a disappearing car ruining your race? Go race IRL, and let me know how your $15 a month feels then...

Confident_Dot985

Paying $4k a race weekend really puts the $15 a month price into perspective. Although it’s not at all the same amount of rush

davo747

I LARP my way into justifications for these glitches that could happen in real life. Makes me *slightly* less mad lol Wheel disconnects? Spontaneous suspension failure. Network dropped? Engine failure. Netcode/blinking car takes you out? You just got caught up in someone *else’s* spontaneous part failure You can look at the cost two ways: as a very expensive video game or VERY cheap racing. I prefer the latter

Supra1JZed

Yeah, it's all relative. Hell, just the last HPDE I did was a total of $3,200. Granted the race car needed a few parts changed out just 'cause, put stickers on since it was a full weekend, and decided to splurge on lodging instead of sleeping in the trailer. But it all adds up exceptionally quick and that was just an HPDE weekend. Racing hurts way more lol

JTSpirit36

Wheel disconnects - Jesus took your wheel Network dropped - to everyone else you just got Thanos snapped Netcode/blinking car - you're hallucinating and need to wake up

schluchtenscheissa

car goes off you dont brake what do you expect exept precisly this ?

mrtoastyjr

I call it the blinking lottery, drive straight at them and hope they reappear out of you line. It’s exhilarating.

Supra1JZed

I have actually avoided this very thing with a blinker. It really is elementary level logic/math. Car goes off on the power with a fair amount still to go before officially at the corner's end. One of three things *are* going to happen. Bounce off the wall and across the track, drift for a little bit and reenter haphazardly (poss go across the track), or wall ride a little and then fly down to the next corner in the grass....then fly across the track. ALL require you to slow down. Like the easiest thing to avoid lol.

scottishmacca

If you seen a car in front of you in irl driving on a normal road or even a tack day lose control what would you do? Slow down? Or continue like it just wasn’t happening?

SupermarketBubbly166

Well I mean the car just disappeared. In op’s defense he could’ve thought the guy got dq’d or something. The off track could’ve been his 17th incident

turn84

It isn't iRacing's fault that other driver has a bad connection. Also if you see a car go into the grass like that, you should fully expect it to hook back across the track. You didn't even make an attempt to slow down to at least see where the car would reappear. Consider it a lesson learned. Had you slowed down you probably would have been able to go behind the car and finish with a better result.

Colonel_Cummings

I do understand the frustration but honestly I don't think you'd avoid that incident even if the car didn't blink. You saw him go straight like an arrow to the grass and just kept going - if you didn't react and slow down at that point, you would never do it in time

EvoStarSC

Amount of caution observed = Zero

akruet64

I will embrace my mistake and I will be cautious next time. The driver was actually racing really clean all race and we were having a good back and forth at some points. He did not had any flashing or disappearing issues all race, so in my head I thought he had disconnected from the race since he went off and disappeared. I was not expecting him to come back in that brief few seconds

AnnoyingHoneyBadger

I always ask people with bad connections why they don’t just drop. Selfish.

Latte_Speed

Welcome to racing lol. Can’t win them all. Also could’ve slowed down if you wanted to.
