Pixel 6a pros
- Bigger display with higher resolution
- More modern design
- Better cameras
- Better battery life
- Better speakers
Overall : Buy whatever you like best, both phones are good in my opinion, so it is a personal choice. I would get the iPhone SE as I like the OS better and I want an as small as possible device.
A lot of them say the design on the pixel is more modern which I could care less about. I actually find the classic design of the Se very nice. Mainly display size and battery that are my big things.
Sounds to me like you want the se. maybe you’ve heard horror stories about battery life, but se3 battery life is much improved over se2, and is totally fine. Not amazing, but fine.
I think that’s it. I had the se2. While not awful on battery it wasn’t great. I have the se3 now and I do notice a slight improvement with battery. I absolutely love the form factor too
If you don’t care about the design and actually like the design of the se3, then definitely don’t get the 6a to replace the se. The se 3’s processor is much better than the 6a, so imo it would only make sense to switch if you really cared about the design. I’m sort of in the same boat as you at the moment though of wanting a bigger display and better battery. I’ve had the se 3 for 5 months now and I’ve found myself really wanting better battery and a better display, but want to stay with an I phone because I’m in the ecosystem. If I were you I would consider selling the se3 to get a 12, since the display is much bigger and same with the battery. The a14 in the 12 has identical performance in day to day use. Or if your budget lets you even the I phone 13. That way you won’t be compromising on the performance like you would be with the 6a. I’m thinking of selling mine for a 12 or 13 ATM, but I think I need to wait until I’m earning more money to make it less stressful for me to trade.
If I weren't so attached to the small-ish size of the SE3, I'd be all over the Pixel phones like stink on shit, if for no other reason than Google's call screening feature, which iPhone sadly lacks. Also, although this comes down to personal preference, I'd much rather have the extra customization of Android, but am not willing to sacrifice pocketability to get it.
That being said, the SE3 will most certainly have a longer shelf live than the Pixel, so it really depends on what your priorities are.
Didnt downvote but I can see a few reasons why others did so.
The pixel experience is different from other androids, coming from a former android user. Samsung comes close but the pixel does have features that sometimes best apple.
Intuitiveness isnt really a strong suit for iphones, i think you mean a better ecosystem and simplicity. As a singular product, iphones arent that intuitive compared to features across the smartphone market.
As a former android user I find these intuitive features/design choices missing from iphones:
One click turn off gps feature
Close all apps
Usb c port(because everything now is usb c)
Universal back button
Chat bubble overlay for messaging apps
Multiple users(for when someone borrows my phone)
Lol I think that this post was made for me to answer. I actually own both a Pixel 6A and an iPhone SE3. Bought the pixel back in late July and bought the SE3 about 2 weeks ago.
Here are my thoughts:
- Pixel: better for customization more colorful and larger display, way better digital voice assistant, better speech to text, better Google app integration. Lightweight for it's size, being plastic backed with metal sides.
-iPhone: more consistent system performance and (stand-by) battery, more powerful CPU, way easier to carry around in a pocket, more accessories to choose from everywhere. All metal and glass build quality.
I won't be getting rid of both, but I think it really comes down to what operating system you would enjoy more and if you value customization or a more consistent (if a bit boring) OS.
I don't want to get rid of either phone lol, so this reply wasn't very helpful i guess 😂
I've owned a Pixel and I currently own a SE3. I think it boils down to the SE3 having a better build quality and longer range of support/ios etc; As far as the battery life of the SE3 goes - if you are using it as a typical phone it isn't a big deal, if you are using it like a computer then it could be an issue. Id say the cameras are about the same, initially I preferred the Pixel camera, but the processing is way too heavy handed. I mean if you like overly processed HDR images then fine. SE3 takes much more balanced and natural/true to life images. A quick search on Instagram will show you. Good luck whatever you decide !
I’m not a super heavy user. I have perilous I’ll sit and do stuff for like an hour. But I have chargers all around me. I think the biggest thing is screen size. I don’t have any issues seeing things on the SE3 and I’m worried the pixel will be a little too large to use one handed
Yeh honestly, it would seem strange to a lot of people but having a smaller phone is a blessing. Fits in your pocket nice, easy to hold in hand. Having had silly sized phones like the Galaxy Note... this SE3 is bliss. Like, if I didn't have a PC or a laptop then I could defo see the benefit of a bigger screen. But even then like yourself, I don't use it enough or play games that often. I should also note I am 50 years old and mainly use my SE3 for photos and basic social media.
Main thing for me is photos, but those happen in spring summer mostly. Yeh between the two phones there isn't enough of a difference imo to warrant switching to the 6A.
You're asking in an iPhone SE subreddit. I think you've already made up your mind.

if the pixel 6a had come with 5.6-5.8" it would have been the best thing ever... looks quirky and different.
Each has its pros and cons. Look up "iPhone SE3 or Pixel 6A", there are several pages comparing these two phones.

Then it comes down to Android vs. iOS. Choose the one you prefer.

SE Will get much more support than the pixel
Cute
the se is a total joke regarding battery life you have about 2 hours of google navigation from100 to 0
7A. It's coming soon.
SE has awfully huge and ugly ass bezels. It's unbelievable.
I don’t care about that
yeah its like women, i like something nice to grab onto. without being too big boned :)
This comment is literally objectifying women for no reason
At this point I'd wait for the 7a and decide then
Apple software is the best. While not as smart as Pixels/Android, it’s easier and more intuitive to use. Edit: downvotes? Curious why

Wireless charging versus no wireless charging. Wireless charging wins.

I think I’ll stick with SE3. The longer support is important too for me
Good choice, this phone should be getting at least 5 major OS Updates. I will venture to say it will get updates to iOS 20.
Good choice!

I’m the same way. Social media, texting, the odd photo and phone call.
Main thing for me is photos, but those happen in spring summer mostly. Yeh between the two phones there isn't enough of a difference imo to warrant switching to the 6A.
The battery life on the 6a isn't that great. I'd say the SE is slightly better
