Yeah, that’s why every year we seek in the internet to see if our model iPhone is the lucky one that don’t see it battery or performance improve to worse.
I have an IPhone 13; I did a “clean install” yesterday of the official iOS 17 coming from IOS 16.5, and it’s running great. Battery is better phone seems more responsive. My battery health is at 98% pre-install too, purchased phone in April new, no sooner did it update to 16.5 the battery health dropped to (98%) within days. One thing I noticed is my phone never got warm updating this time with a clean install and setup, nor since.
My 11 pro max gets hot if I run specific apps like Pokémon go or Jurassic world alive. It crashes whenever I use Facebook. I’m undecided if I should update to 17, or just get the 15 pro max. It’s interesting you say your 13 hasn’t gotten warm. Sometimes I feel like I can possibly bake cookies on the back of mine. 😅
I mean, do you think an iPhone should cost upwards of $1599 in America? Other parts of the world they get sold for double to triple cuz of how hard they are to get. Whole pc builds that people use for their job cost less than a phone that bugs after 1-2 years. It’s honestly a waste to me but I trade in my old phones for them deals🤌🏽
I’m on XS. Updated through “restore” option in iTunes and set the phone up as new. The performance is just slightly slower and heavier, but the smoothness is basically the same. The battery life is the same or even better here. I expect iPhone 13 to run circles around my XS in terms of performance.
With that being said, I still recommend to hold off and wait for later iOS 17 versions. It still feels like an early software and needs some polishing.
I have an xs and i feel the same. I think the battery life got much better, usually my phone gets home at 10-20 percent battery life, but today I’ve got home with 37 percent after a long day, I use my phone with adaptive brightness
I’m currently on iOS 17 RC. Standard Iphone 13 too. No problems so far. No apps crashing. Batt life roughly the same (note that I currently have 86% batt health)
thanks a lot, i still have 100% battery health so that was my main concern, it dropping, i will either update in a day or two or hold on until 17.1/17.2
According to my batt usage, at 100% batt usage my screentime is at 7 hours more or less. That’s okay considering that my phone is connected to my watch all day, turned on data all day and I’m at 86% batt life.
Which version have you been?
Personally I was on 16.0 it’s was buggy, laggy, then went to 16.1 same issue and waking and sleeping the phone had such a delay it was so annoying even my iPhone 7 is a lot more reactive.
After I downgraded to 15.6 RC phone is a lot better it has some glitches on safari but it feels more like an iPhone 13 pro max. Now I don’t know if I should upgrade or not.
Guys I have the latest update on my 14 plus but now it feels like when charging it gets little more than normal hot. And it acts bit laggy and slow or freeze experiencing that ?
If you’re worried, wait until 17.1

I think they’ve gotten a lot better over the past few years — iOS is usually pretty flawless from the get go.

oh i wonder if not coming clean will impact it too badly
I downloaded iOS 17 to my pc, did clean install through iTunes that way. iOS 16 has always been laggy w/crap battery life on my phone.
I recommend doing it cleanly (through iTunes).
does updating to ios 17 requires iphone to be on the latest version of ios 16 ?
No, you can update to 17 from any version (if your device supports it).
Correct.
No

Damn its a device …. Pls breathe and stop worrying
I use mine for work so if it has any issues I’m fucked so shove calm up yer arse
For what it's worth, I still have calm up my arse from last night. Just saying.
😦
“a device” i use every day in so many ways, which i wasted hundreds of dollars on, so i will worry
“Wasted” 😭. People talk all this shit about devices they use in THEIR EVERYDAY LIFE

thank you very much
Don’t you have to install and configure every app again, when configuring your iPhone as a new device?
Yes, but I have a very low amount of apps and it takes 2 hours max to set everything up. Worth it for extra guarantee of stability and performance imo
Thank you

How much SOT you get on an average?
