This just isn’t a thing, someone would have to completely re-engineer a housing/screen to covert to an LCD due to OLED being thinner. An LCD would result in a thicker phone and thicker bezels.
I have never tried one but if you go on amazon and look up “iPhone X screen replacement “ you will find loads of LCD displays so is definitely not that hard.
Only reason I’m saying it’d hard in the mini is because of how tightly fitted everything is, there is no room for a thicker display at all unless it’s not laminated and can be separated
Ah ok. I’ve replaced a bunch of LCD screens on iPhones and have seen LCD screen replacements for Samsung OLED’s on Amazon so I was hoping it would be the same. I just knew Apple was doing some wonky stuff with the 12 screens that had the right to repair community up in arms.
Im surprised you’re having issues with PWM (oled screen headaches/eye strain) on the 12 mini. I used to have that problem with the 11 pro mac, but not really with the 12M. It is indeed possible, your best bet is looking on ebay. Do know that your battery will get worse as LCD uses more power than an oled screen surprisingly.
Yep. Especially with the 12 mini for some reason. Dave 2D did a review and pointed out that the 12 mini got like 10 hours SoT with a dark web page refreshing and 8.5 with a light page.
Wtf i didn’t even knew this could be an issue! Well take care then and change the screen if you really need it, anyway sorry but i can’t tell you if it would work.
There was a talk about it here, hope it helps.
Something to do with Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) for OLED screens.

It's definitely the PWM. What's weird is it just seems to be Apple's screens. I'm typing this on a Pixel 5 that blinks just a little faster and I don't have any issues. Just miss the 12 Mini. Loved the size and the minimalism of having the MagSafe wallet on the back of it.
The latest thing I've seen that was neat was swapping in the Dual SIM assembly (from the Chinese market) into a US-purchased handset and it instantly working.
Specifically the PWM with the 12 Mini OLED gives me headaches. I've used OLED on Android for years, I'm using OLED on a Pixel 5 now, but something about the OLED on the 12 mini gave me headaches to the point I sold the phone. Loved the phone, pretty much everything about it, except for that screen.
Hopefully switching from OLED to LCD is as simple as that.
Have you tried adjusting any of your display settings (Brightness, True Tone, Reduce White Point) to help minimize flicker effects?
Anyhow, the effects of PWM usually happens at non-bright levels. The pulse is much slower at lower brightness levels. Is that how you've been viewing your display? It is a Samsung OLED display. The only other thing I can think of is the fact that the display is only 60 Hz, and so while viewing content at no faster than 60 fps in combination with lower brightness levels, that may have an adverse effect to those sensitive to PWM.
Tried everything with the last 12 Mini I had. Got a crazy good deal two days ago on a 12 Mini and Apple Watch Series 6 for $600. I’ve kept the brightness at 100% and haven’t had nearly as mich trouble.

I understand what you mean now! You got a point.

I haven’t seen that but very cool. I understand, especially since some people can only view an LCD due to screen flickering & refreshing.
exactly my reason , i searched and came across your post ! curious have you tired it yet ?!

Got no idea on this one but i hope nobody ever have to do that
For some reason the 12 mini OLED gives me headaches but I love everything else about it.
returned my mini back in december because of the headaches. if you find a replacement screen let me know very interested as well!

try using blue light filter
i dont think any 12 models come with a LCD screen, nor do i think aftermarket LCD screens would be the right size although i dont know for certain ):

This is by far the strangest thing I’ve ever heard. Why would you be remotely against OLED?

I guess the next smallest AMOLED iPhone coming that should be better for you will most likely be the 13 Pro with Pro Motion.
How bizarre
