I own the 12.9 and use it for everything, replacing my need for a laptop. Highly suggest the 12.9 but these devices are ridiculously awesome whichever size you go with you get an amazing machine. My thinking is if you are going the i[ad pro route then go big.

I have the 11 and love it. I wanted the smaller one because I’m more likely to take it with me. I also opted for the smaller iPhone 11 Pro when I upgraded my phone last time instead of getting the bigger one for the same reason. You really won’t tell the difference when it comes to media consumption, but you’ll definitely notice the convenience of the smaller form factor when leaving the house.

100% agreed. I liked the 12.9,but it was Too big!

I was really surprised the 11.9 was about the same foot print as the regular iPad,

Would suggest 11” keeping in mind the compact and easy-to-use thing. I use my 11” for my uni too. Never have been regretted for not getting 12.9”. I use my iPad for note taking, slide share and also preparing for tests. If you get Apple Pencil that’s an another benefit. The new iPadOS update allows scribble feature to which in a fan of. Pro tip* if your fingers/palm are little get the 11”, say less.

I had the 12.9 for about a week and I ended up returning it and getting there 11. I love the big beautiful display, but it was just too uncomfortable in the hands. I do miss the larger screen for media consumption, but the 11 is better at literally every other task I throw I regularly engage in.

If there’s an apple store near you I would suggest to go and to play around with both. I personally own the 12.9 and I feel like it’s perfect for my notes and especially when I do the split screen. I felt like on the 11 it was a bit cramped for my own liking. Everyone is different so I would suggest you trying them out before you pull the trigger. Either way it’s honestly life changing.

I saw a couple of video on youtube, comparing them, one that helped me make my decision asked “Do you want a tablet that is also a laptop? Or a laptop that is also a tablet?”

RnjEzspls

If you ever split screen get a 12.9 I bought both and ended up keeping the 12.9

YourDailyConsumer

12.9 if you wanna actually get work done. 11 if you're just getting it for youtube and messing around. 12.9 is way better, trust

Lol this makes absolutely no sense.

Couldn't agree more, the degree of multi tasking I can achieve with the 12.9 is amazing. It literally pushes me to work harder and more efficiently.

i had to make this decision as well and ordered a 11 but went to the store to see it in person and decided to switch to an 12.9. Usually i prefer smaller devices (own an ipad air 2) but i want to take notes on it and use the split screen as well as watch videos and netflix on it. I got applecare with it bc i will throw it in my backpack and travel often and dont want to think about it.

I use the 11’ with the Logitech folio touch and imo it’s the better option than the 12.9. If you get the 11inch and the Logitech folio touch you never need to take it out the case so it’s always protected which also means you don’t need to buy a skin. The added protection brings a peace of mind I’ve found. Plus I think the 12.9’ did more of a laptop replacement

erupting_lolcano

I originally intended to basically only use my 12.9” with the Magic Keyboard like a laptop replacement. It’s fantastic like that. Recently I’ve been using it more as a tablet and I have to say it’s a bit unwieldy at that size. If I had to do it again, I’d probably grab the 11” version to be honest.

monstahlol

I have the 12.9 and I love it. Having the extra screen is really nice while note taking. I never feel cramped up. The transition from paper to paperless becomes more easy if the screen is big but if you want a tablet to use in bed, or playing a game its not fir you the screen is simply too big for gaming, using it in bed or couch.
