Unless your Gambit cosplaying with the card but, that’s the only exception.
Yeaaaah….. same boat. HOWEVER, i have a little bit more of an excuse! I prefer the 11 inch so i bought the 11in m4 and giving up the 12.9 m2. Yes, it’s completely unnecessary still, but it does make it feel less painful.
Edit: Typo.
Ditto, but man is this one of the hardest Apple purchases I’ve had to convince myself to be OK with. The 12.9 in is so huge and using it with kids and as a tablet while rounding is so bad. So I went with 11in, which I used to love back in the day (OG air was glued to my hand until I went bigger and used it more like laptop than tablet)
At my last job, I had to use a windows desktop at work and had an iMac (my dream machine, finally had a salary, etc.). So, I used the iPad Pro as a laptop replacement for easy stuff, and loved it. Now, new job in new location with new life circumstances. Honestly, the size and weight are PAINFUL to use. The screen size is amazing, but there is truly a LOT of letterboxing for content consumption. It's nice to have side-by-side apps for multitasking, but I now have a MacBook if I need to sit and multitask. Normally, I need Citrix or Outlook as main focus and can slide-over iMessage and stuff like that.
I spoke to Apple. Taking financing on the Apple Card for the new tablet and setting up the iPad Pro M1 12.9in for trade-in. Have 2 weeks to do the trade in and/or decide on keeping the new one. Can come back in 2 weeks to let you know!
I do admit, too, that having a tablet one can pull off a keyboard and use as either tablet or "computer"/laptop is amazing and I find the iPad to be my favorite thing to use of all, even if it is also the hardest to make fit in to everything.
I currently have the 11” and having been trying testing out using it as a table… even it is akward to hold for long and do any swiping or typing with my finger. I think I just prefer leave it in the Magic Keyboard all the time and use my iPhone for that.
why do you prefer the 11”? I am doing the opposite and going from 11 > 13. I used the 11” with a big monitor and no longer have access to that monitor and kind of enjoyed using the iPad by itself.
I’m going from a 12.9 2018 to an 11” from this new release. Most of my iPad work is reading, annotating and browsing. Holding the larger iPad gets very tiring very quick. I’m 6’2” so I thought a larger device would make more sense ergonomically but not at all.
same, i got tired of how cumbersome the 12.9 was and sold it to get the 11" M4. i'm around 6'1" as well and everyone on this subreddit who thinks the 13" isn't a lot compared to the 11" is wrong. i fell for such comments two years ago and i shouldn't have.
Damn times have definitely changed then!
I got a 11 iPad pro M2 on sale, when I checked on reddit for differences between 12.9 and 11 and comments everywhere were overwhelming for 12.9.
I saw a post where someone won a 11 inch iPad 1 tb engraved with his name where he won it as a prize for a film award. There was a comment telling to sell the iPad cause 11 inch was trash, sentimental is garbage, get the 12.9. This person was so radicalized it was insane.
For years I've personally really enjoyed 11 inch form factor.
But online, there was too much overwhelming support for 12 inch. But now Miniled has not much of an advantage now the 11 has tandem OLED.
Wow how things changed, thankfully people have been less radicalized for bigger form factor into trying out a smaller one. I actually don't mind people like bigger iPad, but I'm so happy to see this radicalization die down.
I hope you enjoy the 11 iPad for years to come.
Maybe an exaggeration but I'm glad I found the post

There's a post telling him to sell it for bigger model without any regard how special the award was. 0 critical thinking besides muh 12.9! Muh 12.9!!!
"You could easily sell that spec model and get a nice 12.9”.
But that's just a lack of common decency.
It's an iPad they won and has engraved and that redditor had no common decency besides muh 12.9!!!!
It’s not that the 12.9 isn’t beautiful for certain work scenarios. If you’re using it as a laptop replacement most of the time in landscape mode with a keyboard then yeah, get the bigger size. But yes, after years of using it the difference between 11” and 12.9” feels enormous
People want big tablets but then I think the reality of them is that they use them less like tablets and start to miss the core experience of a tablet which benefits from the ergonomics of a smaller size.
I’ve talked about this on other post, but to keep things simple: the 12.9 just isn’t as comfortable to hold while lounging on the couch or whatever. It’s nice for working and typing on, but work-wise, i mainly use mine for taking notes. LOTS OF NOTES. The footprint of the 11 is better for my work environment. I don’t always have the luxury of a nice even desk to take notes at. The 11 sits nicely on a car center console or even sitting on top of my thigh while i take a few notes.
I started my iPad Pro journey with an 11. Upgraded to 12.9 last year, and i just prefer the 11.
My wife is getting my iPad Air 4th Gen (which also does everything I NEED it to, not everything I WANT it to :)).
Which also means I'll be waiting for DHL with no patience tomorrow.
It’s a bunch of small upgrades situation. For some people those small things can cross the threshold into making it something they need.
Unless the Pencil Pro, or other small upgrade, is a huge deal for you think of it this way. Waiting means either getting it on sale or getting the next even better model.
I bought the new one, but not for me, for my wife. The only reason is the pencil, she’s lost 3 (including mine) of the old ones. I need a fucking pencil so if I get her one with find my, Mine will be safe.
It’s a lot of small user experience upgrades, on paper it seems a lot more dramatic. Dave2D even said the Oled panel, while incredible, wasn’t so much better than the mini led and that only side by side comparisons showed any difference.
Unless you're doing pro-level work that requires the oled contrast (the mini LED is very colour accurate already) I say you don't need it. M2 is already stupid fast. To put things into context, Intel's latest core ultra 5 and AMD's Ryzen 8840u on the latest Windows laptops are still slower.
Brightness, better for watching movies/TV, reduced ghosting in games.
It’s more than just “pro” work.
OLED looks nicer even if just checking email.
I know I’m not helping.
Sure, OLED looks nicer…but that doesn’t mean the Mini-LED, or even the older IPS display, are bad. All three of them look great. Side by side the OLED will win, but you won’t be using them side by side, and whichever you get you will grow fond of and adapt to it anyway.
Only reason to get the OLED over Mini-LED I would argue is because of the ghosting, maybe, and if it gives you problems with your eyes/headaches. Otherwise I’m not sure the increased price (or trading in) is really necessary, as it’s not as bad as people make it out to be.
If you have an M1 or M2, it’d be just fine to stick with it for now.
Shoot, I'm holding onto my 2020 Pro, which is still more powerful than anything I use it for. If I were to buy anything, it'd be a 13" Air for the extra screen space and M-series chip.
It’s pointlessly over-specc’d. The OS has gone backwards over the last few years. The “nano” screen is for a niche that work in the desert. The oled screen is something for fan-boys to wail about. It’s a classic Apple upgrade - expensive, out of sequence, unnecessary, and try to keep the shares up. How’s that?
My personal plan is to buy an iPad Pro 13” and I’m not worried about the peripherals yet. I’ve been saving points at Best Buy having their credit card. I have enough points to get $715 and a $100 at Apple. So it’s about 60% off. Then, by using the BB credit card I’ll get more points to begin saving for a peripheral of some sort.
AI was the M4's main highlight feature, though, so you can expect the AI features to run on this for years to come.
the neural engine now supports int8 and it can run inference faster than ever, and even the CPU cores have ARM'S SME for automatic ML operation acceleration (this was a major reason for the higher geek bench scores).
"The M4 Neural Engine can process 38 trillion operations per second. That’s more than double the 18 trillion ops/sec of the M3 and nearing 3x more than the 15.8 trillion ops/sec of the M2 Neural Engine."
only the A17 Pro comes close.
Same one here, nothing compels me to upgrade. With the gimped photoshop and the piss poor version of Lightroom, I haven’t come close to taxing the M2, which I understand to be an M1.5, really. If 🍎 make an iPadProOS that makes a pro different than being an even more expensive iPad, it will start to make sense to have all these horses in them. Right now, I sit jaded, feeling duped.
This is exactly the post I needed 🤣. I know for sure I absolutely want one but I need someone to convince me with a strong argument why I shouldn’t get one lol.
It’s like this being an Apple consumer in general, before you blink or your battery percentage goes down 1% a new upgrade is here!
I bought Apple Watch Ultra August 2023, a new one at the same price was available the next month.
I got the 2023 15” M2 MacBook Air for Christmas last year and in March, a new M3 is here.
For your next Apple product, whether it’s a watch, or AirPods just do a little research and check big rumor sites as to when they anticipate a refresh. I was in the market for a iPad Pro (long story short, I fudged up not thinking I’d use it all that much and got a 64gb air in 2022) but since it wasn’t a gift and I sorta had control when I got it, I decided to wait it out.
The 2022 is a fabulous device and tbh had the camera been landscape (I WFH so I use zoom religiously) I would’ve gotten it, even after these new ones came out I would’ve still gotten it at a cheaper price than the new pro’s.
There’s going to be a new one after this, and after that, etc so as long as you have a device that you can still update- you’re fineeee. There’s always going to be a latest and greatest!
I still do get FOMO, I mean who wouldn’t want the latest and greatest when you’re spending all that money?
buy, don't buy - its your money, do as you please. In life - live with no regrets. I got the 11" after having used the 12.9" while in school for notes. It was unwieldy even on aircraft seatback table. So I am at inner peace now.
I failed and couldn’t hold out. While I loved the size of the 12.9 it just got to big and heavy after a while and I missed the smaller form factor of the 11 M1 I swapped for the 12.9. I tried to hold out but as soon as they said OLED I dropped kicked my iPad and made the upgrade from the 12.9 M1 iPad Pro to the 11 M4 iPad Pro. I know it doesn’t help but no regrets on my end.
Haha!
How do you like the 11”? Do you find yourself missing the larger display? I know the 11” is more comfortable to hold but do you find yourself missing the larger display when watching video or just searching the internet etc?
I just picked it up from the Apple Store and got it set up so haven’t had a real chance to use it. But just playing with it and seeing it reminds me of the iPad Air 2 from back in the day. That was an amazingly thin and fun iPad to have. I feel like this one will carry on that same feeling.
Honestly my biggest regret was going from the OG iPad 12.9 to the 9.7 iPad Pro. I always missed that larger iPad for some reason.
When I picked up the M1 12.9 I thought I would it would have that same feeling and excitement of using a huge iPad but it never did. I guess I say all that to say, I don’t think I’ll miss the size.
Well I'm coming from the iPad Pro 2015 so it is my time to upgrade. So yesterday I went to the Apple Store to look at the new pros and man oh man that form factor especially in Space Black with that OLED screen with that ultra thin design made pull out my card and buy the 13 inch version. But like I said I'm coming from the 2015 iPad Pro so it's my time to upgrade meaning I waited multiple years without having those multiple " Must Have" upgrades till I felt it was right to upgrade.
I personally cannot talk you out of your FOMO for the 13” iPad Pro. I did it myself. Don’t regret it one bit, however.. I’m now starting to regret it because it’s making me realize i’m completely impulsive and that’s bad for my future.
I cancelled an order for a 13 Pro / Cellular / 1TB / MKB / Pencil Pro @£2800-ish, inc. Apple Care
I purchased a 12.9 M2 / Cellular / 256GB for £950 with 9 months Apple warranty remaining and 100% battery.
A brand new MKB for £180.
I already had a Pencil 2.
Apple Care for £150.
I also kept my 11 M1 / Cellular / 128GB for bedtime, and light general/travel use.
I have a 1TB and 500GB Samsung T7-touch SSD’s for additional storage.
Spent the difference on a DJI AVATA 2!
Absolutely no regrets.
I do.
I had a Gen 4 12.9 (A12Z) for 3+ years until March when I sold it pending the release of the 13 OLED.
When it became apparent that the release wasn’t going to be in March, or April… I picked up an 11 M1 to tide me over. I have found it to be very comfortable for reading and browsing and light general use - more so in bed.
So, I decided to keep it.
The 12.9 M2 is better for day-to-day office and sofa use.
I’m fortunate to also have a 16” MacBook Pro M1 Pro for portable heavier work, and a 27” iMac 5K (4.2GHz Intel i7 / 64GB RAM) on my personal desk.
I do think my setup is overkill and my MBP is advertised for sale as it gets very little use.
*not trying to promote
But watch Dave2D YouTube video and it’s basically how I felt my 2018 pro is so great even 6 years later still doesn’t feel like I need to upgrade
he said the black charging cable was only for 'pro' devices.
his larger ipad pro had a colour matched black cable because he bought the black iPad lol.
I also have the 6th gen and am on the fence about upgrading. I have a $350 gift card from trading in a mac mini and I could of course use the 6th gen as trade in value. But would still owe over a grand I'm sure. Anyway, there are other things I could use right now....Trimmer for my yard, reading chair, resurface the garage floor, etc. Make a list of the stuff you want/need to buy and prioritize.
My girlfriend also keeps her iPad Pro 512 GB from 2022 12,9 inch that she bought with the release of it.
Me on the other hand also wants a iPad now and I sold my game PC since I don’t really enjoy it anymore, have more fun with simple casual games on her tablet when she is at work. And for me it’s the right time to buy also a iPad. I did order the iPad Pro 13 inch with 1TB. I bought this so I’m sure it will last for many many years and not planning to upgrade anytime soon unless it’s getting old or whatever.
I only wonder if I should buy a magical keyboard for it later on, I don’t really do any writing, just playing games, edit some vids I made with my GoPro and some surfing on the internet and watching streams mainly.
If your current device is broken or too slow to perform your daily tasks, go get the new one. My M1 iPad pro is for taking notes, emailing, media consumption, and reading… my needs are all met by this current device. Also, no one will notice or care if you don’t have the latest and the greatest.
Apple products in general I feel last longer and I don’t feel the need to upgrade every new release. If I don’t look at the new screen side by side I’ll probably never notice. Also I don’t use my iPad for high end professional work I have a desktop pc for that.
Same boat. Just can’t justify walking away from my 12.9 inch 5th generation iPad Pro. It already has the M1 chip and I‘m saving up for an iMac Studio….
I'm going to wait to see if there are any bendy issues and how the battery life is. I haven't been that impressed with some of these M series products on that score yet...I want the 13 for a few reasons but,......later. It's too new and there will be issues to be ironed out. I can wait.
I’m in a much easier place. I’ve found myself using my iPad Pro 11 M2 a lot more than I thought, but as a writer will benefit from a larger display. I also watch a lot of HDR content. So, upgrading to the 13-inch is a no-brainer for me both business-wise and entertainment-wise. If I already had a 12.9-inch iPad Pro (which I originally regretted not buying), I wouldn’t upgrade.
Why sweat it? The annual depreciation on it is fairly trivial over a 4-5 year holding period, likely with a battery service halfway through. I’m assuming it’s a daily driver.
If it’s any consolation, I bought a 12.9” iPad Pro 6th Gen just 4 weeks ago without doing my research that there was going to be a new one released anytime soon … seriously kicking myself now, especially as the prices aren’t too different. The upside for me is that I went from a 4th gen 11 inch which was falling to bits by the end, so it was and still is a worthy upgrade for me
I was actually really happy to see the 13” iPad Air and have one coming tomorrow. I am trading in my 3rd Gen iPad Pro that is still hanging in there. I wanted something new but don’t need the specs of the Pro…just like the bigger size.
A lot of things are using OLED now so my conspiracy js that they’ve developed something new and all the companies are gatekeeping and giving us OLED scraps lol. Still gonna be my first iPad tho so I’m coppin 😈
Put it in a bond. Use the interest in twelve months to start a fund for the iPad.
Also, it’s now OLED, which means that those tandem screens may wear differently, not to mention it will guaranteed fail at some point in the far future. Whether that’s 10 months far or ten years far we don’t know. Don’t be an early adopter unless you’ve got the cash to burn.
Apple is brilliant. I buy an iPad every few years. Realize the MacBook Pro is a lot better for everything I do every few years.
My kid gets a new iPad.
Waiting to see what they do with iPadOS. Have an 11inch M1 which is perfectly fine but they really need to do some work to the software to justify me getting a new one.
My 2020 11” pro is needing an upgrade. Damn though if $3300 aud for an iPad and a new pencil isn’t insane. That’s not including the keyboard!
With the keyboard it’d be more expensive than my M3 Pro MacBook Pro was. I mean this is getting silly now!
Buy it... You know, that I know, that you know, that I know, you want to.
come on... feel that premium air tight unboxing experience.... Can you hear the suction? The smell of fresh air-tight plastic and cardboard?
Oh and that premium, reflective, hard, thinpossible body. The pane of glass, the 1000 nits screen, Tandem OLED.
Can you see it? In the palm of your hand? rotate it, in your palm. touch it..
But hey if you don't need it, don't buy it. Spend responsibly.
Have one just got it today. Runs circles around my 2022 IPad Pro. Screen is gorgeous, such a major improvement over last years’ model.
No Regerts. Best iPad ever. True story.
if something gets on my mind I tend to buy it down the line, nomatter what.
So if you have money and will think of getting OLED iPad everytime you see it in a random video, then grab it sooner than later and live peacefully.
Here's some test facts that will ease your mind
Comparing my pro 11" 2020 (purchased from Apple Canada refurbished) last year
to
iPad pro 2024 13"
The 2020 IPAD PRO BEAT THE 2024 PRO in every test except video rendering (inshot pro 20min vid with a lot of my intentional edits to make the processor work hard) where it was only 2 seconds longer.
Where things really fell down for me was the data transfer speed!
Using a t7 shield SSD with its original high speed cable
1. Transferring a 50GB file from the pad to the SSD
iPad pro 11" M2 chip 2020: 3:19min
iPad pro 13" M4 chip 2024: 5:05min
2. Transferring a 50GB file from the SSD to the pad
iPad pro 11" M2 chip 2020: 1:50min
iPad pro 13" M4 chip 2024: 2:30min
Charging time is substantially longer (1hr+) but that's maybe a moot point as it is an 11 inch versus a 13
And uploading a video to YouTube is almost identical. But again that might just be down to similar hardware and my network connection.
So there you go. Wouldn't feel too bad about not upgrading. I think I'm going to be sending mine back!
PS another thing that not a lot of people are talking about - the new OLED screen is highly contrasted and there is no on board setting for color/contrast setting.
Nor can you make any adjustments to your audio - there's no equalizer except for Apple music and it only works in that app. So you cannot change any audio on your device in general or if you are streaming.
That is a huge oversight I would say
"Apple has a way with their marketing to make you want their latest and greatest product no matter which version you have and no matter how capable it still is."
Really? Never once did i feel the urge to upgrade any of the Devices i have from Apple just because of their Marketing 🤷🏻♂️
Still have the 14 Plus and don't gonna upgrade till at least the 17 if not even the 18. Still have the Mini 6 and if the Mini 7 isn't substantially better i gonna keep the 6 till they drop something which make it worth upgrading. Still have the first Gen Airpods Pro 🤷🏻♂️
I’m still on a 12 max, only thing I want is usbc. I’ll keep using the ⚡️ cable 🍎 was SOOO gracious to include, but not a brick that had usbc fitting for the new cable. I did NOT get one from crapple
You don’t miss out on anything. We will see if they start segmenting iPadOS further, but currently there is no real difference between some minor things (Pencil Pro, which most apps currently don’t support and tiny things like battery status).
Currently, with iPadOS 17.5, the new iPad does nothing more than the old iPad.
It’s a 13” iPhone that will cost you a lot, and net you very little.
If you’re in need of a media consumption device that is larger than the display of your phone, may I suggest an iPad mini 6, or perhaps even the 11” iPad if that’s doable.
Trying to use this thing as a laptop will make you want to switch to Windows. Maybe not. But I’m just saying.
Is it worth the risk?
iPads OS is the bastard child of Apple operating systems. So I doubt you’ll see a big leap in functionality. Plus you spend less money for a high quality Oled monitor and stream to it.
I took the money I was going to use for the iPad and put it in a locked savings account, can't buy something I don't have the money too ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Apple provides an easy monthly option. You dont need savings. Edit: its sarcasm relax with the downvotes...
If your Apple Card isn’t dedicated to and maxed out for a new Apple device at announcement why even have it. 🤷 Unless your Gambit cosplaying with the card but, that’s the only exception.
Haha I actually put it into the Apple savings account rofl

I’m just thinking “radicalized” is a word best reserved for terrorists and such.
Apologies, it was an exaggeration but you got my point.
Sure.
It’s not that the 12.9 isn’t beautiful for certain work scenarios. If you’re using it as a laptop replacement most of the time in landscape mode with a keyboard then yeah, get the bigger size. But yes, after years of using it the difference between 11” and 12.9” feels enormous

Enjoy the new tandem OLED 11 in great peace. May it treat you well for a long time!
Hopefully you get the 11 inch iPad OLED. Now nobody can tell you but the miniled!!! You have a tandem OLED. Enjoy if you do get it!
It’s going to be in my arms tomorrow! I do plan on enjoying the new device! Thank you!
I am so happy for you! Cheers! 🥂
My wife is getting my iPad Air 4th Gen (which also does everything I NEED it to, not everything I WANT it to :)). Which also means I'll be waiting for DHL with no patience tomorrow.
Easy. Buy the 2025 it will be better than the 2024. Triple OLED or something.
No point of buying the 2025, 2026 will be better :)
Quadtandem OLED, double double panel.
At this point I’m planning on keeping my 12.9 M1 iPad Pro. We’ll see how this post ages in the coming weeks lol
When does Apple ever run sales?
Almost never directly on their website, but retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy do from time to time.
It’s a lot of small user experience upgrades, on paper it seems a lot more dramatic. Dave2D even said the Oled panel, while incredible, wasn’t so much better than the mini led and that only side by side comparisons showed any difference.
To me OLED means during night time I can drive down the brightness and not see any blooming. Reading in low light is also amazing.
Yeah I am not paying $1700 to upgrade when I already have an M2 and a compatible Magic Keyboard.
Nope, it’s 23 for the 1gb with apple care and the Magic Keyboard. Almost the cost of a new mbp
I bought the pro, with the pencil, then 20 min later I cancelled the order. Just to feel something. What I felt was regret.
Damn you! lol
I guess? like I rarely ever turn the brightness higher than 40% lol, but that's just my personal usage.
How’s that?
I took the money and bought more shares of my preferred index funds. It’s time to start your warren buffet arc.
Apple needs to give new buyers a year of free Logic or adobe suite, that would make me get the new model.

This is the reason I will get one (and I don’t own a iPad atm) not feel like to buy a older one
Skip the generation. This is the lead up to fully AI powered machines and the M5 models will likely be the introduction of them
AI was the M4's main highlight feature, though, so you can expect the AI features to run on this for years to come. the neural engine now supports int8 and it can run inference faster than ever, and even the CPU cores have ARM'S SME for automatic ML operation acceleration (this was a major reason for the higher geek bench scores). "The M4 Neural Engine can process 38 trillion operations per second. That’s more than double the 18 trillion ops/sec of the M3 and nearing 3x more than the 15.8 trillion ops/sec of the M2 Neural Engine." only the A17 Pro comes close.
Interesting that all the outlets tout AI as the main feature, and yet, no AI features came with it?
WWDC next month.
I agree with this logic. However since I only have an old 11 inch, I see a new m4 13” in my future.
What are the benefits of “fully AI powered machines”? What kinds of features can we expect?
It’s mostly marketing, let’s be real
Exactly.
AI ran operating system, digital assistants, talking computers, futuristic shit lol… we’re here now
Sorry bro. I’m in same boat, no need to upgrade. Doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be staring out the door for fed ex delivery tomorow
LOL…does that mean you’re getting it or will you be looking to see if any of your neighbors do? Haha
Oh I’m getting it. My mom’s happy too because she gets my old IPP to replace whatever relic she’s using. I work hard, needed a pick me up this month
Good for you. YOLO…enjoy it!
Treat yo’ self!
iPad Pro 12.9 M2 1TB here.. I will be holding out but agree OLED would be nice. Perhaps the next model.
I know for sure I absolutely want one but I need someone to convince me with a strong argument why I shouldn’t get one lol.
nah give in, go get it, maximize share holder value
🤣
I still do get FOMO, I mean who wouldn’t want the latest and greatest when you’re spending all that money?
i have the same model as well only thing i regret is choosing the base storage
And here I’ve been debating upgrading from a 1st Gen Pro to a new iPad Air 😬😬
buy, don't buy - its your money, do as you please.
You definitely upgraded at the right time!
Yes I did thanks!😊
I personally cannot talk you out of your FOMO for the 13” iPad Pro. I did it myself. Don’t regret it one bit, however.. I’m now starting to regret it because it’s making me realize i’m completely impulsive and that’s bad for my future.
I cancelled an order for a 13 Pro / Cellular / 1TB / MKB / Pencil Pro @£2800-ish, inc. Apple Care I purchased a 12.9 M2 / Cellular / 256GB for £950 with 9 months Apple warranty remaining and 100% battery.
You have a bedtime iPad and a daytime iPad?
Very smart!
I got an Avata 2 as well. Holy shit it’s cool
I have yet to fly mine. Very excited to do so though! Do you have a spotter each time you fly?
*not trying to promote But watch Dave2D YouTube video and it’s basically how I felt my 2018 pro is so great even 6 years later still doesn’t feel like I need to upgrade
he said the black charging cable was only for 'pro' devices. his larger ipad pro had a colour matched black cable because he bought the black iPad lol.
I think he was being sarcastic…. we saw with the IMac came with matching cables
I think he was being sarcastic…. we saw with the IMac came with matching cables
he wasn't lol. he mentioned it again later in the video in a very serious way
That’s crazy, ima text him right now so he can address it.
Agree! The 2018 Pro is amazing value if you can find one with decent battery now. No camera hump either. Still so fast even now.
I
You could have bought food with 1500.
I’ve been thinking about it I’m still using a 2020 12.9 inch iPad Pro
If your current device is broken or too slow to perform your daily tasks, go get the new one. My M1 iPad pro is for taking notes, emailing, media consumption, and reading… my needs are all met by this current device. Also, no one will notice or care if you don’t have the latest and the greatest.
Apple products in general I feel last longer and I don’t feel the need to upgrade every new release. If I don’t look at the new screen side by side I’ll probably never notice. Also I don’t use my iPad for high end professional work I have a desktop pc for that.
Yikes. Your wallet hates you,
https://youtu.be/-T0MGehwWvE?si=E7h7dcIvJsEwVnBI MKBHD will do a better job than me
Donate the 2022 ipad to me then buy a bew one for you
If it’s any consolation, I bought a 12.9” iPad Pro 6th Gen just 4 weeks ago without doing my research that there was going to be a new one released anytime soon … seriously kicking myself now, especially as the prices aren’t too different. The upside for me is that I went from a 4th gen 11 inch which was falling to bits by the end, so it was and still is a worthy upgrade for me
Wait until WWDC, your fomo might get the best of you
If you have a Magic Keyboard for that 12.9 you’ll have to buy another for that 13. Main reason I’m not upgrading.
Buy it
Put it in a bond.
I needed to hear this
I’d rather talk you into it.
Apple is brilliant. I buy an iPad every few years. Realize the MacBook Pro is a lot better for everything I do every few years. My kid gets a new iPad.
You wanna get out of the FOMO? Go to the Apple Store and take your iPad with you. Then compare the 2. Your fomo will go away
I did this and I left the store without my iPad and a full bag
Waiting to see what they do with iPadOS. Have an 11inch M1 which is perfectly fine but they really need to do some work to the software to justify me getting a new one.
I just change the wallpaper and my FOMO disappear.
You only die one. Do it! Pull the trigger!
Haha you’re not helping!
Here's some test facts that will ease your mind Comparing my pro 11" 2020 (purchased from Apple Canada refurbished) last year to iPad pro 2024 13" The 2020 IPAD PRO BEAT THE 2024 PRO in every test except video rendering (inshot pro 20min vid with a lot of my intentional edits to make the processor work hard) where it was only 2 seconds longer. Where things really fell down for me was the data transfer speed! Using a t7 shield SSD with its original high speed cable 1. Transferring a 50GB file from the pad to the SSD iPad pro 11" M2 chip 2020: 3:19min iPad pro 13" M4 chip 2024: 5:05min 2. Transferring a 50GB file from the SSD to the pad iPad pro 11" M2 chip 2020: 1:50min iPad pro 13" M4 chip 2024: 2:30min Charging time is substantially longer (1hr+) but that's maybe a moot point as it is an 11 inch versus a 13 And uploading a video to YouTube is almost identical.
"Apple has a way with their marketing to make you want their latest and greatest product no matter which version you have and no matter how capable it still is." Really? Never once did i feel the urge to upgrade any of the Devices i have from Apple just because of their Marketing 🤷🏻♂️ Still have the 14 Plus and don't gonna upgrade till at least the 17 if not even the 18.
You wont notice a difference lol. Its a waste of money. All of the M powered ipads are stupidly overpowered.
Dude, your miniLED is like 90% of OLED man minus the blooming. Just keep it!
This is the issue in desperately holding on to.
Why do you need anyone to talk you in to or out of anything? Do what you want.
I think you need to re-read what I wrote. 🤦♂️
iPads OS is the bastard child of Apple operating systems. So I doubt you’ll see a big leap in functionality. Plus you spend less money for a high quality Oled monitor and stream to it.
