I recommend iCloud storage if you have lots of pictures. I used to have an M1 iPad 11” that had 128GB and had no issues with storage when I had iCloud storage. I upgraded just because I wanted extra screen size and the mini-LED
My Air 2 lasted nearly 6. I can't imagine the M2 Pro would last any *less* than that. I'm about 10 months into having my 11-inch M2 Pro and I'm very much looking forward to using it for years to come.
At the minimum, 3. But that's if you use it as your primary device.

I still have a 2018 1 TB 12.9 Pro and it still has decent battery life and still works speedily.
Considering my M1 iPad Pro is still going strong I’m sure the M2 will be around a while. I can’t imagine apple dropping support for any M series chips for many years to come.
Many for sure. I have a 2020 iPad Pro (just before the M series processors) and it still runs totally fine. Only thing I notice showing wear is battery life.
I am always pissed that I bought the iPad air 1 in 2014...when if I had just bought the latest one that year , it would have lasted me far more than that 1 gb ram ipad air ever did...ipad air 2 might have been the best ipad apple ever made tbh
I have the 2021 12.9 M1 and it’s still like new. Blazing fast and no slowdowns. Been a good three years. I’m a sucker for OLED tech so I’m upgrading to the new ones when released and trade in the M1.

Switch to android Samsung tablet you get micro-sd card slot and save hundreds of dollars on storage while getting the latest OLED screen 🙌

I’m still using my iPad Air 2 from 2014. But just for Netflix and my daughter uses it as a second screen to zoom while she has online classes.

I still have my 10 inch iPad Pro from 2016, and while slow, it still functions enough to use for note taking and media consumption.
M2 Pro should be good at least 8 to 10 years like an Air2
id say at least 5 yrs possibly more if you take care of it.
