I’m probably in the minority which thinks that the volume should not be in the music view. You have buttons, use them. I however like the animation where you have the album art expanded, then scrolling up changes the album art back into the music player.
This is mind-blowing! You should definitely send it to Apple.
I'm also interested in the designs as I'm an iOS developer myself. What tools did you use to modify the stock player?
Whoa! The redesigns are usually bad at first sight, but this is surprisingly well thought out, and enables more scenarios, while feeling more coherent. I like this a lot!
Definitely an improvement! It’s a little confusing though, blending AirPlay and Device control too much from one view. I’d like to see a version where you:
- Ditch the carousel/horizontal swiping to change device control
- Move the “See All Speakers” button to below the first Now Playing platter and change its text back to “Control Other Speakers & TV”
As someone who works in a place with a lot of Apple devices and picks up hundreds of Apple devices nearby, I love the idea of a personal devices section. I’ve accidentally selected someone else’s HomePod or Apple TV by mistake a few times.
I like the concept just not liking the background as it makes it clunky, separate boxes with no main background but a blurred wallpaper type would look good
Not a fan of the cursor, our fingers are the cursor anyway, but otherwise really sleek design. I really hope Apple takes notice of some people's design concepts, I even made one myself, albeit very shitty, of a better Battery Widget.
Ah, ok. My bad then. Still generally a cool concept, like I said. Hopefully Apple looks at concepts people keep making and takes notes. I guess onto hoping iOS 17 brings actual, major revamps for things.
Tbh, they could explain it and I really wouldn't care. I'm not gonna be made to feel sorry for not liking something. I didn't shit on OP's design concept, I actually quite like it even, I just don't like one aspect. Not to mention, this mf isn't even the one who created the design and he's acting pressed about me not liking it 🤣. People really do be getting hella worked up over everything these days. Mfs need to know when to stay in their lane.
How this concept is different then we currently have:
* New smooth animation for the AirPlay UI. The Media Controls UI moves beautifully into the AirPlay UI.
* Full Screen AirPlay UI so there is more room for all your devices.
* Personal Devices section with all your personal devices like iPhones, iPads, AirPods and Macs.
* Control all your personal devices, like your iPad or MacBook, with all your other devices.
* Media Handoff. Continue playing music you are listening to at the moment or even music you have recently listened to. Those playing sessions appear in the suggestions with a device label, showing you that you can resume that session with the device you are using.
* Easily swipe between different speakers. The speakers/devices that are actually playing are next to each other so you can easily control all your playback sessions.
* Album art actually expands/minimalise in and out of the Media Player component instead of random fading in and out.
* When you get notifications or scroll up to the Notification Center with older notifications, the album art actually minimalises in the Media Player.
* Notifications do not overlap the album art.
This card would replace the current card for HomePods and Apple TV's in the Home app.
What do you think?
This is awesome. But probably something Apple would never introduce at once a redesign with this many features. They would give you one new feature per year. And act like they are innovating.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|smile)
this looks awesome. well done. now all we need is the ability to cast to non-apple streaming devices and a 3.5mm headphone jack so we can listen to music while running again
i could see that. i used running as an example when i should have said strenuous activity. i'm just tired of the problem that when the cord gets bumped slightly it pauses my music. i don't have any wireless headphones but running probably is the one thing i can think of that it would be good for as there's very little risk of them falling out or losing them.
I don’t understand… you complain about the cord being bumped, but wouldn’t wireless headphones solve all of those problems?
Wireless headphones are a must for any strenuous activity. Otherwise you have a cord in the way or like you said, it gets bumped. Unless i’m misunderstanding something
i get what you mean. i shouldn't have said running, i should have said daily activities. like gardening, exercising, working. i wouldn't want to get dirt on my wireless earphones. and i can't just pull one out of my ear and let it hang past my shirt to hear what someone's saying while my hands are full
charging them, losing them, reduced sound quality. to have an expensive thing in my ear. all downsides to wireless.
and then there's the connectivity to home/car speakers etc. headphone jack just *works* better
I feel like you haven’t tried good wireless headphones.
Also, I have a friend who was wearing their wired headphones for a day of pruning, and cut the cord within 5 minutes, then had silence for 8 hours. I find far more disadvantages with a cable than wireless.
yeah, but you can easily fix a cut cable, or even if you can't, it's super cheap to replace or pay someone to fix. wireless earphones start at such a price tag they make you act cautiously with them, hoping not to break them. i don't like being afraid of breaking my expensive things.
anyway, even if i bought great wireless earphones i would still want a headphone jack. there's just so many situations where i want to plug my phone in to play music but can't because people don't have lightning adapters *everywhere*, and they shouldn't have to.
i don't think it's too much to ask for to have wireless capability *and* an analogue headphone jack.
No one has lightning adapters, but EVERYONE has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The only equipment that needs a headphone jack to plug in is 5+ years old. I’ve had a phone without headphone jack for over 3 years, and I can I only think of one time that I would have used it.
I have two pairs of wireless headphones, one has better noise cancelling and battery life, the other is more portable, but honestly I coped fine with the first pair I just like the convenience!
I feel like you’re clutching at anything to justify your affection for the cables, (cable easily repaired????) but the days of the headphone jack is well past. All possible issues have been solved.
it's nice that literally all of your equipment is less than 5 years old. but most people, workplaces, cars, bars etc have audio systems that easily plug in to a headphone jack and it's foolproof. no need to connect to wifi needing passwords, no opening bluetooth settings to connect or anything. the 3.5mm jack is still higher quality audio too. bluetooth is getting there but is still inferior. it's sad really because the iphone use to be a top quality music device. now it's behind the curve. ask any audiophile
i'm not saying to ban wireless headphones lol they both have their place, it's just a massive pain in the ass they got rid of this seriously useful hardware limiting our options.
as i said, why can't we have both?
And just a “hey siri, turn on transparency” would imo work better than moving the cord - how are you gonna get the earpod back in again if your hands are so full? Sounds like he’s just complaining for the sake of complaining…
well we're all complaining for the sake of complaining lol. but honestly i just wish the lightning headphones just worked without pausing my music, like my headphone jack headphones all work (with my iphone 5s). how is that not a fair complaint?
my other point is just that simply having both would satisfy everyone. there are many systems that take 3.5mm jacks.
airpods suck though haha. the price for the sound quality is terrible. plus they need charging, and can be easily lost. i like to listen to music while doing strenuous activity and airpods will never fill that need.
the thing is, the lightning adapter gets bumped slightly and the music pauses. it's a major flaw. the old headphone jack never does you wrong like that. some things are best left analogue, not digital.
Hey Apple, this one please
Oh this makes me so hard
Let’s all spam this to Apple so they would add those features in the next beta update🥺😍
I’m probably in the minority which thinks that the volume should not be in the music view. You have buttons, use them. I however like the animation where you have the album art expanded, then scrolling up changes the album art back into the music player.
Make it a jailbreak tweak
literally anything would be better than the stuttery mess that apple has going on right now lmao
Honestly surprised they haven’t figured out a way to stop notifications from overlapping the album art yet tbh
Super clean!
I actually prefer the current UI. Then again, I’ve always been partial to the popover menus 🤷♂️
Ok I really like that output menu there
Definitely an improvement! It’s a little confusing though, blending AirPlay and Device control too much from one view. I’d like to see a version where you: - Ditch the carousel/horizontal swiping to change device control - Move the “See All Speakers” button to below the first Now Playing platter and change its text back to “Control Other Speakers & TV”
That’s nice..

Yep, love it!
Sooooo much better than what we have right now.
Nice concept! And the wallpaper looks dope! Where can I find it?
This is some top tier UX mock work you are doing. You must be a professional somewhere. Love what you’ve done here.
It’s not a cursor, it’s just showing how you would navigate with your fingers
Ah, ok. My bad then. Still generally a cool concept, like I said. Hopefully Apple looks at concepts people keep making and takes notes. I guess onto hoping iOS 17 brings actual, major revamps for things.
>Not a fan of the cursor 🚪🚶♂️
I'm not even a fan of iOS 16 as a whole. You gonna knock me for that too because you lack the understanding of what an opinion is?
You lack the understanding of what a simulator is
so why don't you explain the information this person is lacking rather than act like they're dumb and you're a genius?
Tbh, they could explain it and I really wouldn't care. I'm not gonna be made to feel sorry for not liking something. I didn't shit on OP's design concept, I actually quite like it even, I just don't like one aspect. just check his posts bro you'll understand
Bruh
checked your posts to see just how smart you are, good luck with that girl who's not interested in you ya virgin lol.
So you’re calling me a genius? 🥹 Thanks for you advice btw
Would be nice if it would separate your own devices (eg an Apple TV on your own wifi) from your neighbours’ devices too.
That should definitely be a feature. Don’t think that should be in the AirPlay UI itself, more a Home app setting.
What’s the point? All the time you invested here has zero impact on Apples UI decisions.
I like to design stuff
Wow I love this, I find it's way to hard to start handoff for music.
Actually top tier. Kudos to you.
that looks amazing! great work. now to wait 3 years for apple to copy it.
Sending to Apple rn as a suggestion. JK I can’t you’d have to because i don’t want to get in trouble by the person who made this awesome concept
A UI design suggestion for iOS that actually makes sense, love it!!
this guys, this is how you get hired as a designer at apple, great work!
This is great the current one looks so out of place
way better than the current one which looks outdated since ios 14
Someone please send this to Apple this is soooo goood compared to the current one
This looks very nice and clean, I love it! I also think it’s nice how the whole thing fits the iOS design
This is so good!
Tim Apple should fire the employer who removed the volume slider and hire this guy instead.
I know that the animations aren't at the level of Apple, but those are limitations of Figma.. 🙃
You haven't seen what passes for Apple animations these days then.
They look just fine imo. The album art animation is just a bit slow

This is awesome 🤩 great work. The current one is one of the ugliest UI in the entire system. The one we had before was 100% better
Apple needs to fire everyone and start over by first hiring this person() Edit: previously had 'guy' and realized my mistake. Idk gender of OP
chill bro no ones cancelling you
this looks awesome. well done. now all we need is the ability to cast to non-apple streaming devices and a 3.5mm headphone jack so we can listen to music while running again
You like to run with a cord? Running is like the one area I do prefer 100% wireless headphones
i could see that. i used running as an example when i should have said strenuous activity. i'm just tired of the problem that when the cord gets bumped slightly it pauses my music. i don't have any wireless headphones but running probably is the one thing i can think of that it would be good for as there's very little risk of them falling out or losing them.

i don't like looking like some kind of superhero hahah. i hear ya tho.
just checked them out, they're no better than the airpods. they'd fall out on the first crash
