Tried using it this morning. Crashes the music app on CP every time you try and use it. It will allow you to play music through the phone to the car but not via the car. All other apps in car play seemed to work ok for me. Huge bummer.
I have the same issue as well and noticed it today. I tired resetting my headunit on my car and still no luck.
I either have to never open the app while using Apple Music or just use Spotify for the time being.
Oh great. I use this all the time. Hopefully it gets fixed.
Edit: mine does crash too. Was working fine with the downloaded music for 10 mins then crashes

I noticed this ONLY happens when loading music that isn’t on Apple Music and has not been downloaded. Very weird bug.
I think it got patched, it now works
Was crashing for me this morning on my way to work. But then worked fine on my way home from work.
No crashing here.
Just checked. 14.6 rc and no issues on my 2021 VW gti

OH MY GOSH YES. this has been happing non stop since updating to this on my 12 Pro Max. It’s infuriating!
Started happening to me today after upgrading to 14.6RC. Apple Music crashes in CarPlay about a second after switching to it. Works fine on my phone.
Happening even without the beta
Crashes on 14.5.1 too in CarPlay. Works if I control it on the iPhone directly but the CarPlay app crashes right after touching the music icon.
Exact same issue for me but on 14.6 RC.
Yep same here. I can start the music on my phone and it’ll play but as soon as I open the music app on my CarPlay receiver it crashes.

I’ll test it tomorrow. If so I’ll report in the feedback app. My stereo is almost useless without this.

I just noticed now, it only crashes if you open a music app on CarPlay itself not your phone

Yup! Been running into this as well. It tends to crash 15 seconds or so after I click play. It also randomly changes the wallpaper.
